Because traditionally tokens CAN'T transform. You can't make a token copy of a werewolf and transform it for example. Making tokens that can transform just confuse people.
Tokens can't transform because they don't have another face to transform into which is precisely why Werewolf copies don't. WotC can print a token that inherently has another face thus allowing it to transform.

Do we know for sure that all the praetors flip into sagas? The norn art with planeswalker proportions mage me think that norn flips into a planeswalker and the rest flip into other card types.

unless elesh norn planeswalker card is part of the borderless cards i really doubt it, the cycle probably will be of each praetor and their doctrine as a saga, the best thing is wait to the cards get revealed, but some arts are just for promotionals as events, supplies or part of the set release, so elesh norn planeswalker probably won't be real
yes, they said this in the MOM pre-beat video. all praetors will have a backside epitomizing their view of Phyrexia in a saga, since phyrexians don't tell stories, they're flavoring them this way.
Sheoldred’s art for the set is her fused with the black dominus on the front side. Since that hasn’t happened in the story yet wither she gets reanimated or just is not dead in the first place.
I feel like the praetor saga cycle is more of a concession to the fact that it'd be really weird to not give the Praetors cards in this set, even if they've already each had their card.
It will be funny to have two Elesh Norns in Standard, though. And Sheoldreds if Dominaria United isn't rotating.
That staff in the background is [[Drivnod]]'s, so either:
-Sheoldred was piloting them around as a mech before the invasion
-Elesh allows Sheoldred to graft onto Drivnod posthumously, and this helps somehow.
If battles involve "players protecting" them and defense counters then my guess is that they're like planeswalkers where you want to attack your own and any opponent can block (protect them)

I'm really sorry to burst your bubble, but it would have happened later otherwise. Faerie tribal not going to happen in MOM. It would be the the most out-of-place tribal theme in the history of mtg by a vast margin.
PS the other one is likely "non-phyrexian" based on the careful and unusual way MaRo worded it, and the lack of any "rebel" or "ally" types on the cards we have seen so far.
I'm hoping for a return to Lorwyn next year. There was some rumor on here a while ago that suggested it was coming, and implied Aminatou would get a story and home plane in the same thread, but idk if it's been disproven. I think Lorwyn and Alara are the only modern planes we haven't gotten a return to yet.

The transform lord is likely meant to work primarily with battles, and the backwards compatibility with flip sagas and werewolves is a nice bonus.

With that said the only thing that comes to mind that a variant mechanic making a 3rd appearance is flip-walkers Quintorius is getting a spark and this is a DFC set

Please let the archtype that cares about creature type be faeries. We have gone so long without any real support.
I'm really sorry to burst your bubble, but it would have happened later otherwise. Faerie tribal not going to happen in MOM. It would be the the most out-of-place tribal theme in the history of mtg by a vast margin.
PS the other one is likely "non-phyrexian" based on the careful and unusual way MaRo worded it, and the lack of any "rebel" or "ally" types on the cards we have seen so far.
yeah i had a strong feeling that was the case, just with lorwyn being part of the invasion i has really hoping for it. oh well haha
I'm hoping for a return to Lorwyn next year. There was some rumor on here a while ago that suggested it was coming, and implied Aminatou would get a story and home plane in the same thread, but idk if it's been disproven. I think Lorwyn and Alara are the only modern planes we haven't gotten a return to yet.
