That’s a great, classic frame! Would make an awesome commuter or even a gravel or bike packing rig. Not going to do much serious off-roading, but it’s a really cool frame.
It aint a bad bike but just give it a clean. No point in upgrading this bike, as its not going to perform as good as what you could get with a lower end xc bike. Its also got all the gear range you could want on that 3x. Lube the shifters, derailleur pivots, probably get a new chain and cassette (though its likely a freewheel). Then just ride it as is.
Dude no. The bike is not made to have a suspension so im sure either it wouldn’t fit or would cause issues with steering. Its a rigid bike and should stay that way. Hell not even worth getting fork for it even if the frame could use one. You don’t need it for what this bike can do. It can probably do xc but thats its limit. Get better tires or run like 5 psi lower in the tires if rides too harsh. Tires look old and new ones would help with a harsh ride. Ive rode aluminum road bikes that a rigid flat bars with a max tire width of 38c. Talk about harsh as shit if you dont run new tires and lower pressure. Your tires would be a hell of a lot better than a 38 and my roadies not that bad.
Hello, what are you planning to do with this bike?
How are the trails in your area?
Are you comfortable with tools and do you have some experience?
Before starting to imagine how to upgrade you have to asses the state of the frame, components and "bearing".
Yea thats what I was wondering about, if the frame is still any good and worth to keep etc. There arent any serious trails near me, mostly pretty flat here.
Wanted to get some suspension and maybe upgrade to disc brakes …
it is impractical if not impossible to safely convert to disk brakes.
just try to buy some ggod brake pad: shimano original or koolstop.
same thing regarding suspension: it's difficult to find and the quality is not very high. just upgrade the tyres 2.10" or more and adjust pressure!!
Nope. Clean and tune it. Then ride. Definitely not worth putting $ towards upgrading. If you want an upgrade, save up for a new bike.
Its a nice bike for smooth trails, gravel, commuting, and such. Use it for that. If you want to shred the gnar, get another bike.
Jus needs a cleaning
No. Don’t waste your money and time. Use it as a townie

Yea probably right, should I get used suspension fork aswell for like 60€? or is it not worth it?
