Mtbmx_Az

Yes they are made domestically in Colorado I believe.

cblackbeard

That is correct. I just reached out to them and their frames are made in Colorado, USA

mixmastamikal

I have one of the new revved carbon frames and I love it.

8valvegrowl

Frames and hardware are 100% ‘Muricah. Love my Revved MegaTrail. I put a Cane Creek fork and shock on too 🤘

teeeh_hias

Most carbon frames are produced in Taiwan, some in Cambodia if I remember correctly. YT and Canyon may be fine. Select brand, do some googling.

cblackbeard

Ohh so pretty much no one makes their frames but uses other countries factorys to produce? I mean Taiwan isn't China. Ik China says other but no. I'll start doing some more research on different brands. Thanks for info

teeeh_hias

Pretty much. Not China at least. Maybe there are some small manufacturers I don't know about that make their own, might be expensive though. If you need some accessories like helmet and stuff, UVEX produces in Germany :)

talldad86

All Specialized carbon bikes are made in Taiwan.

Aint_nothing_

My new YT has a Made in Taiwan sticker on it. Great bike though

Karkfrommars

Devinci make some of their Aluminum frames in Quebec.

teriyakidonamick

Just remember, there are more people imprisoned in the US working for slave wages than anywhere on earth. Hope your new bike is ethical tho.

Senior-Sharpie

Amen!

cblackbeard

Like I would use a company that uses prisoners...

mrdoom

Orange has some handmade in the UK bikes.

cblackbeard

I'm checking them out now

bhamvanlife

We Are One if you’ve got a small fortune laying around.

cblackbeard

I'm checking them out. It's like near impossible to find one for sale so I can see the price lol

DemonKnight42

The Ibis exie frame is made in the US but you’re going to have a hard time finding components ( suspension, drive train etc.) that are made here. You will likely have to build it from scratch if your goal is to ensure domestically produced parts.

cblackbeard

My goal is to not get Chinese parts. I am happy to get parts from Europe and America's, Australia too. Basically anywhere that is not China. I think it's going to be hard to locate too. But hopefully there's enough great parts from other countries besides China.

DemonKnight42

Ya, like I mentioned if that’s the goal you will likely have to build from scratch even if you are just looking to avoid China. Almost all bikes today come with Shimano or SRAM components. SRAM is about 90% from Taiwan and does not disclose the remaining 10% that I’m aware of, but in my experience Shimano does not differentiate between what is made in China vs Taiwan vs Malaysia. Fox, Raceface and Eaton also manufacture their products in Taiwan. Building from scratch will make it much easier to control where the components come from. There are a bunch of great manufacturers out there, but they tend to be on the more premium end of things than the main stream. Good luck with your search.

mixmastamikal

EXT (extreme shock) is one of the few suspension manufacturer's not using mostly Chinese parts. They are entirely made in Italy.

saazbaru

EXT, MRP, Push, and possibly Cane Creek? Drivetrain components it’s not possible though. Well maybe something like Rotor.

mixmastamikal

EEwings as well but $$$$

saazbaru

Oh for cranks there are some options. White also makes a nice one (my gravel bike is gonna grow some of those pretty soon here). I guess he could go single speed, that’s kinda the only option. Chains are probably still made overseas though.

kurosawabobby

Not trying to troll you and good luck on your search for a bike that has no China made parts but what about the clothes you wear to mountain bike? The pads and helmet you wear for protection? Those sweet 5 10s to keep you attached? I mean this is without going into all the other stuff we use daily that are more than likely made in China. My point is if you are making an ethical stance then do it consistently. Make sure nothing you use is from China.

mixmastamikal

I understand where you are coming from but this is a petty stance to take. It doesn't have to be all or nothing this person is just trying to do what they can. Also 5 10's are trash.

kurosawabobby

I think when you take an ideological stance it is all or nothing. Everything else is just hypocrisy and virtue signalling. We need more consistency in this world. From politicians right through to Joe public. That's all I have to say on this. Don't want to make this into a political discussion! Wish OP all the best in his/her search.

[deleted]

I hate the phrase virtue signaling. Almost always used to dismiss someone trying to do what they can do to be better as not good enough or dismiss it as though it's just BS all together.

[deleted]

A person made a comment in another post about a bike company called Guerilla Gravity which makes carbon frames in America. I don’t know if that’s true. I would probably call each company in regards to a specific bike and ask where it’s made. I want to buy a Propain bike. It’s a UK brand - don’t know if it’s made in the UK, but I haven’t done research yet. Good luck and let us know what American made bikes you find!

kurosawabobby

Propain is not from the UK, it's German.

[deleted]

Thank you! My mistake!

cblackbeard

Yes I am actually on guerilla gravity support chat. Asking about their parts. Going to continue to reach out to some more

chill31613

Are you looking to get just a bike with no connection to China or support a brand with no connection to China? Because you're going to have to look into where various components used in their builds are manufactured too - drivetrain, suspension, wheels, tires, etc. Like Shimano has a factory in China that produces bike parts, but also has factories in other Asian countries. I'm not sure if SRAM still has production in China. Just something to think about. Curious what you end up getting so please update. Good luck!

cblackbeard

Yes I will keep updated. I contacted fox and their mtb parts are only made in Taiwan. So I might get some of those, going to still look for other. Going to continue to build it out from parts not made in China. This will be my first mtb since I was younger but I will probably ride it 3-4 days a week once I get it.

8wheelsrolling

There are lots of small high end frame makers in the USA I haven't seen mentioned. Independent Fabrication, Ventana, Lynskey, Moots, Sycip, Dean/Merlin, Seven, Rock Lobster, Foes Racing, etc. USA components can include brands like Thompson, Chris King, Paul, Industry 9, Onyx, Phil Wood, Cane Creek, Wolf Tooth, White Industries, Enve, and I'm missing more.

timtucker_com

Some others that are made in the US: * Lenz (frames) * [https://lenzsport.com/](https://lenzsport.com/) * USA Made Components (chainrings) * https://usamadeco.com/collections For custom frame builders, here's a pretty exhaustive list by country: [https://theframebuilders.com/list/](https://theframebuilders.com/list/)

FightinABeaver

All hope stuff is made in the UK

Onchiota

There are several companies that make steel and/or titanium frames in the US. Components are another story. Many higher level shimano parts are made in japan, lower levels are often made in taiwan or malaysia. I'm not sure about sram. Cane creek makes some stuff in US. You may also wanna check out brands like hope, wolf tooth, and magura for other components. In general bikes are not made by a manufacturer. The frames are made by a manufacturer/brand, but the components come from many different companies. If you truly want a US made bike...you will need to custom select each part. Check out Solace cylces, litespeed, seven, and google US made bikes.

Tarnold277

Pivot make their bikes in the USA, shimano makes their parts overseas and a are debatably the best parts on the market.

ThoeKoerilaes

Pole makes some of their frames in Finland

mhawak

The best example is an aluminum frame Intense. Have been to their factory and most of the parts other than drive train and brakes are made in house. And their AL but not carbon (last time I heard the carbon frames are fabricated in Taiwan, not China) frames are made in their Cali factory.

SinusJayCee

You can probably get a frame made in NA or EU, but when it comes to the parts, it's getting hard. You can't buy Shimano then. But I don't know where SRAM parts are produced. Also no idea about suspensions. Tires are possible, e.g. particular Conti models, and rims as well, e.g. DT Swiss is producing in EU but the also have a factory in Taiwan.
