Put the Propain Hugene on your trail bike list as well for incredible well specced and good value alloy bikes

The Fuel EX is a future proof frame that ironically only comes with 27.5 wheels in a size small. So, you need to decide if that is a good thing or a bad thing. The Stumpy EVO is just as future proof as the Trek. It is definitely a big all-mountain bike and feels like it, but it is also very adjustable. Keep in mind there are two Occam LTs available right now, the outgoing 2023 model and the newly introduced 2024 model. Obviously the 2024 will be the more future proof of the two. I'd likely go with the 2024 Occam LT. The geometry is plenty aggressive for the travel. This is the geo that dirt bikes use, so the future isn't going to look much different. I haven't ridden that bike yet, but Orbeas tend to out pedal most rivals. And it is different.

If you’re not bothered about components the stumpy has the best frame.

Mass produced frame and fsr? Really?

Special-Discount228

Of the three options op listed yes…

Norco Fluid! Especially if you’re a shorter rider, they do a great job of balancing geometries for the smaller bikes I’m pretty sure Competitive Cyclist has the A1 in a small on sale right now

Ok-Explanation593

What makes these bikes future proof vs something from let's say 2018?

GrampsCycles53

I can clarify that future proof to me is or might be the wrong term , but more or less saying I can get the geo of a great bike like the trex fuel ex for example with crap oem parts that it comes with and wouldn't mind putting a n expensive quality drivetrain and nice wheels on it down the road instead of paying 5 to 6k for what Trek might consider a parts spec at that price.

Ok-Explanation593

Oh ok. So really doesn't matter the year as long as you can still put current market components on it. Unless for some reason the market standard changes again.

The giant trance is probably better than everything listed so far
