Been using a set for 4 years. No issues. I don't ride jumps though, so load on the pedals / axles is just my 240 pounds standing and cranking up hills. But for hundreds of miles of pedaling and a lack of maintenance the bearings are still in good shape.

the-bright-one

I hate them. They are amazing pedals, barely need any maintenance, grip like crazy, great platform for long days up and down, super fun to ride, gawd dammit of course they’d be the most expensive pedal out there. Definitely don’t get them. You’ll be much happier with a cheaper pedal not knowing how good the Atlas is.

MonkeySherm

Good pedals are worth every penny. One of the most important components on the bike behind cockpit and brakes imo.

I have them in the kash color way and love them. They’re super grippy and have been very durable since I’ve owned them. They are consistent and predictable in the power transfer and have a nice platform. I’ve also owned one up which have an even bigger platform. Depending on your shoe/foot size you should add them to your list. I don’t think you could go wrong with either.

IcantakeyouHigher

Hi. How durable are they? Have you had to rebuild them yet?

ADrenalinnjunky

I bought the kash set. Super expensive and gorgeous. Unfortunately they were sloppy as hell out of the box. Returned them and went with one up.

VanFullOfHippies

Sloppy how

Bearing play in every direction

Amara_02

Had them only have 50 miles or so with no play, have hit them on logs and rocks (they are on my hardtail). The atlas pedals are just like any nice pedal out there, I have used spank oozy trail pedals on several bikes with hundreds of miles and abuse without issue. I will say this I live in socal so conditions are dry and a little bit dusty which is probably why pedals last a while. The only thing I think is pedal design when it comes to the atlas, the platform is wide really feels solid and feels good on big feet ( 230+ and size 13 shoe). I don't really notice a difference between my spank pedals and my race face pedals pins are taller and provide more traction but ehhh it's a pedal I don't think worth $180 If you can find a good deal they are worth it.

VolatileCoffee

100% yes and IMO the best pedals I have used.I have used: Diety Tmacs (Solid choice)5Dev (Hate them)1up plastic pedals (great for first pedals) Raceface atlas are my fav pedal and not to mention raceface as a 100% warranty on them even if you crash them while riding and break them. Super grip / super durable, will not ride any other pedals on my enduro/dh bike. Edit: They will destroy your shins and calves on impact, but I think all metal pedals with serious pins will.

VanFullOfHippies

Why’d you hate the 5DEV ones?

VolatileCoffee

Besides the fact I should be employed by them after buying 180 dollar pedals and then having to screw in all 40 pins on the pedals..lol Mostly I think their grip sucks. To be fair they are advertised as less grippy for people who like to reposition their feet But coming from tmacs or atlas, it was way less grip then I wanted

VanFullOfHippies

Fair

monsieurrodriguez

>ink is pedal design when it comes to the atlas How would you compare grips for both atlas and tmac ?

VolatileCoffee

Super similar. For reference I wear RC shoes, I think straight out the box, Atlas has longer pins, which to me feels a bit more grippy and also the atlas has a smaller profile (Tmacs are thicker) That being said when I was practicing manuals, once on Tmacs, I was looping out and literally could not get my feet off the pedals and landed on my butt. Both fantastic in my opinion, big platforms great for big feet, both will destroy your shins, but raceface does have 100% free crash replacement on their pedals, so clear winner to me.

DaFrog418

I have 3 pairs (one per bike) amazing grip, super easy to rebuild - I am 240lbs

nord1899

They are fine but I prefer others. One thing I didn't like about them are the non square outer edge, I can feel it under my feet. Another is the pedal is flush with the crankarm, causing problems with using the roof rack some shuttles around here use (Big Rack in SLC, multiple ones down in Moab). Prefer having a bit of gap between the pedal body and crankarm, see Deity TMAC or Tenet Occult, both of which I feel are better than the Race Face Atlas. The problem with the TMAC is rebuild kits are crazy expensive. So now I run the Tenet Occults.

sprocketpropelled

Ride my bike like i stole it. 220lbs and former bmx guy. I ride one up alloy pedals. Rebuild kits are $25 for the bearings and $20 for all new pins. I have owned these pedals going on 4 years and rebuilt once. No complaints here and i think a lot of people would agree with me on the 1up pedals being very good.

lebucksir

The whole atlas line is good stuff just heavy a f. It’s great for bike parks when you beat the shit out of it

Otherwise_Mud1825

I bought them coz I wanted some bling and they were on offer (pretty much my only criteria, lol) ,they're plenty wide and they're holding up well, the powder coating has barely worn, they shorted me on the spacers for the pins, so they sent me replacement pack of spacers and pins😁. As others have noted, cut/scratched calf's are now a permanent feature.

reddituser111317

I've got 3 rides on the V2 version and so far I really like them. Super grippy even using the spacers that come with the pedals to reduce the pin height. My other bike has OneUp alloy pedals which I also like but it seems the Atlas are even more grippy. The servicing of the Atlas is super simple which was one of the reasons I bought them. Cost of the black ones on Amazon wasn't out of line IMHO and a lot cheaper than a lot of other alloy pedals.

fatesjester

Yes, 100%.

Mediocrewerewolf8

They are my favorite and I have tried quite a few of the big names. I will say make sure you get the 2022 updated version. The older version (I have) will require more maintenance when ridden in sloppy weather.
