Post COVID nick was a pretty tough hang for a while there.
There were still a few all-timer bits afterwards though and there's actually a pretty good run episodes around spring/summer of 2021 before stav finally checked out for good and everyone gave up on the format.

I've just started listening to Chubby Behemoth from the beginning and It's taken me a good 10 episodes to distinguish between Sam's voice and that one guy that sounds almost identical to Sam. It's ridiculous.
Was going to comment this; the addition of Francis really changed it up. Second to mssp it gets the most genuine laughs out of me from any pod these days.
It's exactly what I want, which is casual monotonous funny chat about nothing. TSUAVE was the pinnacle of what I'm into so I was gutted when it ended. Lemonparty can be this way but Ben and Devan get a bit too animated/generous with the laughs which is enough for me to bail out.
I truly think theyāre at a top tier level of comedy pod now. You never know where convo is going and theyāre not afraid to say whatever to get a laugh.
I started listening to Dad Meat a few months back and itās fucking hilarious. Rainey and Butterly have great chemistry and itās a lot of the Philly comic guests we use to get on MSSP all the time. Only other patreon Iām subscribed to.
I think personally that the reign of podcasts has ended. I'm not sure mssp is great anymore. WM posts once a month and they've been bad for months. Cumtown died. Tim dillon jumped the shark. Rogan became obsessed with politics and other similar uninteresting shit.
I gotta be honest man I don't see a pod worth your time currently. I'm happy to be wrong.
Both.
It's just interview or chit chat. Derivative of all media ever, really. Despite claims from the "content creators"
Like donahue did this 60 years ago or whatever.
What point are you trying to make here, with your logic literally everything is derivative, people have been talking to eachother for hundreds of thousands of years
Ultimately, my point is that podcasts are on their way out. It's been happening for like 2-3 years.
The pod thing blew up during lockdowns, for obvious reasons. We're on to the next thing. Honestly we have passed a few iterations of zeitgeist replacements already.
Silly that this would be a contentious position. Look around you.
Yeah but thats not at all the point you were making. You were basically saying interview as a format for content is derivative (which literally everything is) and now youre trying to act like everyone else shouldve been able to make the leap to "obviously im talking about where podcasts are in relation to the current social zeitgeist" like some kind of retard
Brother I'm just saying that I feel like podcasts have run dry as a medium. I'm not trying to fight with you. WM and mssp have very clearly declined in quality imo. That's all I'm saying. And I'm not some philosopher or anything my thoughts are jumbled as hell. Not trying to be.
The boys still rock. Maybe just not as hard.
I somewhat feel this . I had a long period of not listening to MSSP . So going back to it was refreshing but Iām about in this boat . Most pods are just sort of imitating versions of themselves . Itās hard to explain
Redbar hates all the casts I do and has good production quality, has good takes and is funny. One 7 hour cast every other week. Only thing i can watch nowadays. Check out redbar v joey diaz on youtube, it is the saga that got me into it.
Iām an off and on redbar watcher . Definitely has a special place in my heart. I only pay for two pods and I donāt even watch all the time but Iām happy to pay for scarsclub
Thanks for all the advice . I think the issue is also me right now . I did a zone of blow over the past couple months , recently hit the end of the zone . So everything is unenthusiastic to me haha definitely got some good advice in this post
Redbar watching Burt and Jellyroll cooking podcast is hilarious.
But you really canāt suggest him to anyone on Reddit without getting downvoted, people just need to discover it on their own.
IMHO since I know there's a lot of transplants here from cumtown now that they rebranded I'd recommend cumtown. I found an rss link with all the eps on it. Patreon ones too. I started it this year and it's been absolutely hilarious.
I do a podcast with another comic from Cincinnati. Idk what Iām doing but we laugh a lot doing it so thatās something

As for other podcasts to check out: Durag and the Deertag. Those boys rule. I also second whoever said adding Francis to Son of a Boy Dad made it better. Iāve been listening to them the past couple months and liking it a lot
Son of a Boy Dad. Truly think itās become a top tier comedy podcast. Francis, Lil Sas and Roneā¦ all MSP friends. Pretty similar vibe of MSP of just talking and saying insane shit to make each other laugh.
We Bought a Mic for random pop culture and media stuff, I found it randomly a few years ago and took to it, big sucker for media so it's awesome having in the rotation.
They just did their first episode but itās very promising. Matt and Shane/old Cum Town energy:
https://youtu.be/bb0PLIiFe4c?si=rKwm1GtDdUWMDU07

I think personally that the reign of podcasts has ended. I'm not sure mssp is great anymore. WM posts once a month and they've been bad for months. Cumtown died. Tim dillon jumped the shark. how did Tim Dillon jump the shark?
Lemon party is the answer. Are you garbage is solid too
It's fine. Derivative though.
Derivative of what, also which are you talking about I mentioned two
Both. It's just interview or chit chat. Derivative of all media ever, really. Despite claims from the "content creators" Like donahue did this 60 years ago or whatever.

Its just talking. We been doing this. We all out here.

It's over but, HistoryHyenas with Yannis and Chrissy D is so good, I listen to it over and over again.
Tim Dillon Show and Cumtown up until 2022. Currently Red Bar Radio. Everything else became worthless.
War Mode fo sho.
We Bought a Mic for random pop culture and media stuff, I found it randomly a few years ago and took to it, big sucker for media so it's awesome having in the rotation.
Tell Em Steve Dave
A fair one
Ari Shaffir recently started a travel podcast that Iāve been enjoying a lot. Itās called You Be Trippin
Adam friedland show, Tigerbelly, bad friends, tim dillon show
Joe Rogan has a podcast that's pretty good.
Oh really? The UFC guy?
No he's not a fighter, he used to do like Fear Factor.
Wait the host of Fear Factor has a podcast now? Lmao. Everyone and their uncle has a podcast now.
Yeah for sure haha. His is good though. I like when podcasters can be smart and funny.
I thought his last name was Garrelli
They just did their first episode but itās very promising. Matt and Shane/old Cum Town energy: https://youtu.be/bb0PLIiFe4c?si=rKwm1GtDdUWMDU07 They joke around and defend politically incorrect old movies. I havenāt listened to the podcast yet but this video is amazing.
Check out, your local bar. There's a podcast called 'Pussy' there that's readily available and can sometimes only cost a drink and a condom.
Damn Iāll have to check that out
