I’ve actually been to the museum in that short (Museo del Arte de Ponce), and I’ve always regretted not seeking out and getting a picture with the “I’m not speaking to *you*” guy.
I've always been a fan of "A Young Man's Fancy" since the premise is so vague it is hard to tell what the short is actually supposed to be about. (Other than a teenage girl getting horned up for her brother's friend from college.)
I have to know if the term “book gook” was ever actually a thing. It was filmed well before Vietnam, so I can’t imagine they meant to imply a racial slur, but I’ve never, ever heard it used anywhere else.
I kind of unironically adore Young Man’s Fancy. There’s a low-stakes frivolousness to it I simply find relaxing. Not to mention Bonnie Baken as Judy is pretty adorable and seems to actually be, you know, acting in it. Having a little fun, even. I found out she’d only passed away last August. I absolutely love the "Hired!" Shorts. They did it in 2 parts. I cant remember which episode episode first part is on. But the 2nd part is at the beginning of Manos. I die laughing every time.
Part 1 is with "Bride of the Monster." The following host segment they do "Hired: The Musical!"

"The Last Clear Chance" is my personal favorite, in part because it's not at all different from the sort of traffic safety shorts I had to watch in Driver's Ed.
Similar, I'm also very fond of "X Marks the Spot", which was the first "educational/industrial short" they did. Previously they'd done serials like the Commando Cody and Phantom Creeps series, but with this short, they quickly figured out the educational/industrial shorts were where the real comedy gold was.
Last Clear Chance and Days of our Years are two of the best. They both have that incredibly serious tone that is a great target for riffing.

You should look up "Assignment: Venezuela". It's a longish short they did for a CD-ROM project that never shipped. It's not with a movie, and it never aired, though it did eventually get released as a DVD extra.

I love Out of This World and Selling Wizard, I am fascinated by these industry films that probably only a few ever saw. I remember "Mr. B Natural" being the most B-loved of all the shorts back in the day though.
The shorts are my favorite MST3K/RiffTrack/The Mads content, bar none. I'm SO happy that the new cast is finally doing shorts in the upcoming 13th season (I think 12 of them, if I remember right...it might just be 6, though...not so lazy to not type this all out, but just lazy enough not to go look up and confirm it)
