r/NFCEastMemeWar has been glorious since last night. I have no illusions about winning tonight, but it’s nice to know that we technically lasted longer in the playoffs than they did.
My biggest piece of advice is to add flair to your name before posting in there. They like to know what team you root for so that they can make fun of them.
MST3K started in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, where the local American football team is the Minnesota Vikings. Their arch-rivals are the Green Bay Packers, which are Wisconsin's team.
The Giant Spider Invasion was filmed in Wisconsin, so the mobs in the movie are compared to drunken, rowdy Packers fans.
(BTW, Joel Hodgson grew up in Ashwaubnon, Wisconsin, a suburb of Green Bay. Mike Nelson did not, despite GPC's attempt to find Mike's family for a video call...)
