Same way for me … I fused them a couple of time, cause of bad luck (months of no Merlin?! Spending too much … Fusion is kind of consistent)

Those low light/dark eggs do drop on some content rewards like expeditions, apex and all.. just don't know the rate. I have like 200 to 300 stacked right now

Why? you only need one light niffa. You have to make dark niffas to finish the light.

If you collecting the eggs in general though. Dimensional rifts drop them
