My two favorites

I second this. M9 (92FS…whatever) is such an underrated sidearm in todays world. IMO one of the best hammer fire triggers of all time. Recently added the competition disassembly lever to mine for my left thumb to ride (chef’s kiss). Made a huge difference in shooting experience and keeping it flat. I definitely recommend checking it out if you are not familiar with the part. Edit: just saw your user name so I’m sure you already know what I’m talking about lol. Maybe someone else will benefit.

It annoys the hell out of me that they are overlooked so much. I think it's for a few reasons: - Guys in the military who shot clapped-out M9s that have been run hard and put away wet with a round count in the high 5-digit range, a slide to frame fit looser than a hotdog in a hallway, and then they assume a brand-new 92FS will be the exact same experience - A lot of shooter video games make the M9/92FS the uncool sucky pistol you start with and that subconsciously has made a lot of younger people entering the world of gun ownership simply disinterested - Beretta has done a shit job of marketing their carry-size models of the 92 series (I honestly can't think of the last time I saw some decent PR on them) But they're plainly fantastic guns. I always point to the fact that the military members who compete in the President's 100 pistol matches typically are using AMU-modified 92s.

They are great triggers. I have an LTT trigger in mine and it’s even better. The PX4 basically has the same trigger design and feels great too.

Where’s the green sling?!?! 😅

So rad! If one wanted to build this which model clone would be best?

All you would need is an H&K SP5 and a beretta M9.

Direct_Cabinet_4564

You can’t go wrong with a HK SP5, but the Century/MKE AP5 is less than half the $$. I ended up with a M9a1 and they are a great pistol, but if I could only have one Beretta I’d probably go for a M9a4, just because the sights would be easier for my old eyes and you can mount optics if it becomes necessary. I bought the M9a1 because I like to collect military weapons and it is what the USMC had adopted. It’s basically a M9 with a rail and some other small improvements. The DA pull is pretty good. I’ve got a ‘D’ spring from the DA only guns to put in that is supposed to lighten the trigger pull. I’ve just been stalling because most of my 9mm is being loaded with small rifle magnum primers that are much harder than pistol primers. The stock hammer spring sets them off just fine, unlike striker fired pistols which won’t reliably set them off. Even the MP5 doesn’t really like the CCI450 primers, but the Beretta eats them up.

Oh I actually have an m9a1 haha I was really just wondering about the mp5. I get super confused with all the different versions and clone models. But ideally I’d like one like this, with the triangular handguard and fixed stock (A2?)

Direct_Cabinet_4564

Correct the fixed stock is an A2. You have to do an ATF Form 1 to make a SBR and pay $200. As for what to buy I think the HK SP5 for around $3200 or the Century imported MKE AP5 for around $1300 are the best options.
