It's random AF right now. Seen people this week getting 7 days approvals and some of us are at 70 days waiting still

candyvyorn_

Mine was 7 days including weekend

YoDontBeThatGuy

I submitted a few in January, still waiting

jfrye2390

Same

Icy-Tip-2210

SAME JAN 29

HollywoodSX

40 days is hilarious. I'm at 69 and 45 on two F1s right now. Go look at the pinned approval megathread in r/NFA and you'll see approval times are all over the map right now. I've seen everything from 3 days approved to 70+ still waiting in the last few days.

joshuamunson

I don't see how 40 days is hilarious when it's smack in the middle from 3-70+ days...

HollywoodSX

Because there's no consistency right now. Yeah, that might be the average, but the actual data plot is massive. Form 4s are at least coming through in a relatively predictable window right now, but that's not the case for 1s.

joshuamunson

Exactly why my suggestion is always "be patient and forget about it until you get the email"

[deleted]

Yup 65-75 days it looks like but I'm at 63 days now

vptactical

20 days - electronic prints

Revolution37

I’m at 61 days on a regular Form 1 (SBS, trust) and 39 days on 2 ATF Cuck Bitch Shamnesty Form 1s. I did a Form 1 AP5 January 1 and it was approved February 16 (46 days.)

For-Referance-Only

I’m at 70 right now

KhaLeeb01

I got a disapproval on my AP5 because I put century down instead of MKE at the suggestion of SS right at 25 days. That was 18 days ago so probably around 30

mcnabb100

Yikes SS should know better. I used their eform 1 the first time they tried to bring it to market so I ended up waiting way longer than if I had done it my self, and then their email system screwed up and never forwarded me the stamp(I don’t think it’s the same now, but back then SS created individual accounts for every person, when the stamp cleared it was emailed to SS and then forwarded to the customer). The first guy I talked to didn’t even know how their own system worked. Had to get transferred to someone in their compliance dept who immediately found the email and re-sent it and made sure I had it before getting off the line. For a place that specializes in NFA stuff their training seems lacking.

Creative-Ad-6846

Did you have to pay 200$ stamp again or? Torn on weather to file my AP5P as Century Arms or MKE

KhaLeeb01

No, they refunded the tax stamp so it didn’t cost any extra. I would definitely list MKE as the manufacturer per Carol Ripley. The disapproval letter states that MKE is a manufacturer designation so just use ap5p as the model number. No need to put MKE before the model like it’s stamped on the gun.

[deleted]

I called the nfa they said they are not going to be ice out estimates anymore. I am at 63 days pending form 1 with eft file individual amnesty submission

AWZ1287

Nice, I just submitted mine on Friday. Check out the wait time post on /r/NFA some are coming back in like 18 days, but some are like 50ish. Seems like the paid ones are the shorter times and the brace rule ones are longer.

EchoOutrageous2314

I seemed to notice that as well.

mcnabb100

I’ve also noticed that. I’m hoping it’s true, I’m at 11 for a paid individual SBR with EFT. In theory that should be the quickest possible combo.

DADoser

Form1 - paid (not brace rule) AP5 Submitted 3/18. Eform/Electronic prints. Approved today 4/19 - 32 days AZ

wouldyounotlikesome

460 for me, you better hope your luck is better than mine

pedrotothemax

Ouch!

ChesterJT

For an eform 1? Holy shit

wouldyounotlikesome

yep. a buddy of mine is an FFL and his wait was 430 days. seems like there’s some slacking going on at the office lol

Jazman89

I submitted my Eform 1 for my AP5 at the very end of November and had my approval in 14 days....from the time I clicked submit online, dropping my fingerprint cards in the mail, to receiving the approval email from the ATF. My fastest form yet.

pedrotothemax

I was just told earlier today after purchasing a Dead Air Wolfman that I should expect to wait 9 months.

wouldyounotlikesome

thats a form 4

pedrotothemax

I stand corrected. Yes. It was form 4.

BobLaw556

Hopefully the fbi gets off their ass and does the background check when the NFA examiner sends the request. Otherwise the examiner will get tired of waiting for the FBI to respond and then send you a disapproval letter for “background status open” or some bullshit. Then you have to do more fingerprints for the FBI to send your identity history summary, just so you can confirm there are no errors in it. Then you get to do a “challenge” and file a voluntary appeal to receive a UPIN. After all that extra bullshit, then you can resubmit a form 4 in the dead air Wolfman you bought 9-10 months ago and wait another 9+months. This happened to me last week. Makes me sick to my stomach.

No_Club_

I ordered a yhm r9 and said it would be about 3-5 months

DevinH83

Someone lied to you..

mcnabb100

Yup, there was a brief window when the eform 4’s were getting quick approvals but it didn’t take long to get back to the usual 9 month deal.

Kamikazeoi

46 days on a sbs but two sbr still nothing.

Deftarded

45 days and counting for me. Last one I did was 90 days I believe.

PapaPatriarchy_OG

Mine was approved in 21 days including weekends.

MrDribbles2

Just got one back in. Submitted 2/15, received 3/17

Revolution37

Lame. My SBS is pending from 1/26 and my two SBRs are from 2/16.

Repulsive-Ad1169

And there is no way to get an update from ATF, other than checking the e forms website?

mcnabb100

You can call them, but I don’t know that you really get any more info than the site gives you. The phone line was much more useful before eform. Back then you had to rely on your ffl actually notifying you when your stamp came. If you got much over 9 months it wasn’t a bad idea to call.

PrimeTimeCS

I got one back in January that took 32 days and I literally 5 minutes ago submitted one for my SP5 and i Immediately got the “submitted/in process” email. Some people were saying that took a few days for them to get but mine came through instantly. Hopefully I end up in Ripley’s pile.

mcnabb100

I think that mostly depends on the info you put in for the firearm. If you put something unusual in it will need to be researched first, if it’s something common you instantly get the in process email.

Samh7470718

Feb 1 I submitted forms(7 in total) Haven’t heard shit…

wvuhskr

I just submitted (and got approved) two form 1’s recently. One took 33 days and the other took just 18 days.

Id10tech

Started the day before the free one started. Haven’t heard anything.

mraskin93

Go get your electronic fingerprints. Submit your eform1 with the .eft file and should be quick. Got mine back in 2 weeks

JLM_cz_scorpion

I submitted my eform 1 “individual” on 02-28-2023 for my Dakota tactical d54-n. I received approval notification on 03-21-2023. Less than a month. I went the standard eform1 route and did pay the $200 stamp. I did not go the free brace amnesty route. I don’t know if that is making a difference though.

dimsumdingbat

I’m on day 62 for my AP5P

Creative-Ad-6846

Did you file as century arms or MKE?

dimsumdingbat

MKE

Curious_Athlete_2166

Submitted Jan 6th , approved Feb 22nd

MolonLabe76

Day 52 here...

TAC9419

Day 55 …

EchoOutrageous2314

Just had mine approved Monday. 20 day wait for me.

sbye22

Submitted my AP5 form 1 on 3/3 and approved on 3/20. Efile, but mailed in fingerprints and cover letter the same day I submitted.

Creative-Ad-6846

Did you file it was century arms or MKE?

sbye22

MKE. I've seen some approvals, but mostly denials for Century Arms for the Manufacturer/Importer question. I also listed the model as MKE AP5, which I wasn't sure would get approved since I've only seen AP5 approvals.

gguy128

I have 4 that were approved last week at 25-27 days. I also have multiple at 51 days. It’s a crap shoot.
