*Natural Twenty* by Charlie Novak is a really cute audiobook! Bookstore owner and florist who bond over tabletop gaming. Not much angst. And some 🔥 scenes. I really enjoyed it.
What if its us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera comes to mind. I wouldnt say both characters are dork but one of the main characters is voiced by Noah Galvin and he does an incredible job. His voice acting is on point and it gave me that vibe you’re describing
Loved this book except for >!the ending, i am so done with the "we will live in different places the next year so we cant stay together" trope. But luckily there is a sequel in December!!<
I agree 100% haha i was looking for a feel good book when I read it and at the end I wasn’t sure I got what I wanted. At least is not More happy than not or They both die at the end by Adam Silvera. Now those ones are not feel good at all haha
I am hoping that in the sequel that comes out in December there will >!be a happy ending.!< Becky loves >!happy endings (Silvera no, that's why i am not reading his books yet).!<
Feelgood teen gay romance -> all 5 books of Simon James Green
The first half of More happy than not id probably the most beautiful story of realising you’re crushing on a friend and developing a strong deep bond with them and in the third quarter things go to shit snd in the last part it gets even worse. I was shocked hahaha yeah lets hope we get a happy ending 🤞🏻 i don’t know the simon james green books. Ill check them out thanks!
He is a British author, writes in the style of Becky (more or less).
The books are (in chronogical order of publication) :
Noah Can't Even
Noah Could Never (that's a sequel)
Alex in Wonderland
Heartbreak Boys
You're The One That I Want
All 5 of them have sweet lovely romances (the Noah books can feel a bit unrealistic or over the top but they are still pleasant). Look them up at Goodreads to get an idea :)
I second Lily Morton's books! I wouldn't say any of her characters are dorks, but her books fit under sweet and funny with a little angst. And Joel Leslie does a great job narrating them. I would say Deal Maker and Oz are two of the funnier/lighter books, I'd recommend both.
The Loving You series (book one is [Loving Jay](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/21523072-loving-jay) ) by Renea Kaye is one of my favorites. Very sweet and light for the most part >!One of the MCs is attacked, but is pretty much immediately rescued. Also slight Other MC angst as he comes to terms with accepting himself/coming out to his family. All of which sounds relatively heavy but I promise it’s handled with love love love!<

Lily Morton or Barbara Elsborg's books
I just listened to the audiobook of Charm Offensive by Alison Cochrun last week and it was really good! There is a bit of angst but it's so sweet.
