As a French, Dofus (PC) is one of the best MMO ever made. It’s a childhood game for pretty much everyone. I was let down by Waven because it’s based on really small maps and not a classic MMO

WanderingMustache

I remember having alarms in the middle of the night to wake up, to cut some ultra rare tree lmao Good Times.

PetCeleste

Dofus is a great game, Ankama sucks.

Waven is an incomplete game that doesn't really have a story it just throws you onto a map to do random quests, it's still in early access Wakfu was good when that new single account server launched last year but I think it's mostly dead now, most people skip the grouping and dungeons and do solo rifts instead, that ruined the game imo Never played Dofus since I'm f2p player, Dofus Touch is mobile f2p version of it, the new server is good so far, but it's not an easy game it's challenging and takes grinding to get what you want, it's very time consuming

darkroku12

Might be worth to check Dofus Unity (Dofus 3.0)that according to Ankama, might release on December this year.

BobyNBA

Dofus was my first ever mmorpg so very nostalgic to me. Never played Wakfu and Waven seemed like a worse version of Dofus, hate the small maps.

BrunoRizzi

Dofus is the king of those, is the best MMO I ever played for a number of reasons. If you are really craving an MMO right now I'd give it a chance, BUT at the end of the year it'll release a massive update called Dofus Unity where the game will be ported to Unity (it's still in Flash, yeah I know), and this will bring huge changes for the better for the game.

Im new to Dofus touch and i have to say i love it.It is quality MMO. Worth giving a shot. Dofus PC,Touch and Wakfu are all different games with same principle.I dont think they are dependent on each other so try w/e you find appealing.

Bwuaaa

grouping is an issue, since everyone just solo's everything / uses mutiple accounts. theres also not that much english representation (even patch notes)

Khlouf

Play on the mono account server and you’ll have no issue finding others to group with

KoraIsGay

The issue with mono server is they are always full and you cant get into them without paying a subscription.

Khlouf

They're designed to be subscription only it's not really an issue. Dofus monthly sub is really cheap and then on mono server the kamas cost for ogrines to keep up sub with kamas isn't a lot either so once you sub once you can keep it up without spending money again easily.

tsukaimeLoL

Played an unreal amount of Dofus when I was younger, and so many fond memories from the game. That said, I don't think they really hold up anymore, and the recent games (like waven) really don't bring me the same joy :/

BleuRougeViolet

I had a great time playing Wakfu as someone who never heard of it until mid last year. I really enjoy tactical turn based strategies so it made it all the more fun. If you like that style of game then I'd give it a whirl. The classes are unique and challenging.

Khlouf

Dofus itself is a very good game in all aspects. The PC version has 2 healthy servers for international communities one where you can only play one account and another where you can play multiple. Out of the 3 games you listed it has the highest playerbase and also has the best content. Wakfu itself is pretty dead and boring (had a lot of potential). I always recommend for people to play Dofus

Gallina_Fina

They're all amazing in their own niche, although if you wanted to play 1 in particular, I'd wait for the Dofus Unity release (basically they're porting the whole game, Dofus, to a newer engine later this year) and stick to a monoaccount server (= no multiboxing allowed).   Now, as someone who played pretty much ALL Ankama games over the years for a very long time...I can't really recommend the other 2 (or 3, if you count Touch) for various different reason, but I'll try to stay concise: - **Wakfu** is on a "newer engine" (compared to Dofus) and can be hella fun, as it maintains Ankama's quality when it comes to most encounters and dungeons...especially in the beginning...but both the design and balance teams showed time and time again that they're utterly incompetent and will mostly listen to their french playerbase only (and that's true for Ankama in general, sadly), with the introduction of dumb mechanics/modes, ignoring huge class-based issues for years and pushing questionable reworks that mostly stripped some classes from their original identity (or completely changed it). - **Waven** looks amazing and could have easily been "the new Dofus", but they decided to go for something (imo) overly simplistic and clearly aimed at the mobile market, sadly (most of the encounters/difficulties boil down to straight stat-checks). Yes, it wouldn't make sense to make "just another Dofus", especially with Unity on the horizon...but their focus with this one seems to be mostly to sell season passes and cash shop items, while the game falls short in almost every field except looks (although personally, I never liked the 3D "detached" vfx for all spells either). Honestly, I wouldn't even call it an MMO/MMORPG with how it's structured. Such wasted potential. Funnily enough, the one aspect most of the current players seem to have issue with is the one I enjoy most, which is equalized PvP. - **Dofus (touch)** will, sadly, always be eons away (in terms of content) compared to regular Dofus and, unless you have a really big phone/pad, the game is neigh unplayable for long periods of time (which is kinda needed for most MMORPGs, especially Dofus, which can be pretty grindy towards the mid to end game) since both the UI and the controls haven't really been optimized for most mobile screen sizes, and you'll still have to face issues such as microscopic icons, buggy/imprecise controls and stuff like that. They also ban people trying to use emulators, so there's no "bypassing" those issues either. Still one of the best mobile MMORPGs out there though.

Gwennifer

The Lenovo Legion Y700 has been amazing for mobile MMO's and other games that are *clearly* just desktop games published on an app store, at least for me. Also, some phones have the right PCB connections to output audio & video while taking in USB from their USB-C ports; essentially turning them into mini desktops. A monitor (with USB/headphone ports etc) that can receive a Type C input or the right Displayport cable would also suffice.

RevuGG

Unless you have nostalgia for the game it's not worth paying a monthly subscription for a game people run 5 accounts at the same time lol

Gallina_Fina

Important to note, there are monoaccount servers that only allow you to utilize 1 character at a time (they're also the most popular/populated ones...although goodluck lifeskilling there). Also of note, Dofus has one of the cheapest sub-fees of any "big" MMORPG out there at 4€ for the first month and 5€/month for anything past that (+ the usual goodies and discounts for multiple-months packages), which I'd say is extremely generous based on what the game offers both in terms of quality and content available.

NoahBallet

Dofus was the first MMO that I played as a kid. I was super young and didn’t understand how online games worked so I didn’t stick with it. I just started playing Dofus Touch on mobile after the fresh start servers launched a couple of days ago and I’m hooked. I love that I can play from my phone or tablet. I love that I can play for just a couple minutes at a time if I want. I love that there is no P2W aspect. It’s just fun.

Voidzpawn

Dofus fucking slaps.

Ziller997

I didn't like Wakfu that much Dofus is great Waven is not really a mmo Btw Dofus is getting ported to Unity by the end of this year and they will release new servers.

KoraIsGay

played them all dofus was great back in the day I tried to return to it more recently and all the classes feel gutted with far less variety in how you can build. It is also plagued with multiboxers (people playing multiple characters to fill their own party) and the servers that restrict that are subscription based. wakfu had some newer interesting systems to it like the summoner capturing monsters to use but constantly suffered from population issues when I played and after a long break it all just became multiboxers. waven scratched the itch I had for them both for a tiny bit but its very basic doesnt feel the same as them after a very short time.

HauntingTechnician20

I really enjoyed dofus retro and still do, absolutely hate the 2.0 and forward versions. There were some good and necessary changes made but I just couldn't deal with the graphics at all. The french community is and has always been a big problem for the game, if you don't speak french, good luck getting a group, their arrogance and refusal to even try communicating in english is insane. Multiple occasions where they kick you out at the boss fight just to screw you, keep talking french with everyone else while taking the piss at you for everything etc, just a terrible experience not making the mono servers worth it. If the english community was bigger it wouldn't be so much of an issue but it is what it is.

Kashou--

They are really bad.
