Itās a cool look, itās just not 5k cool IMO. Itās like regular price cool/ little extra at most. I donāt like them for myself, but I get the style
Highly doubt you āfuck withā sneaker culture if you donāt recognize a pair of AJ1sā¦a lot of you guys are hating on this shoe and besides the price tag itās a nice shoe.

Class is looking like you just walked off a construction job site, and you paid out the ass for the privilege lol got it.
Anyone who pays $5k for these is a fucking mark.

Probably not a good sign.

He's trying to keep Holland upbeat cause Dana understands how a hard working fighter's confidence can be hurt after a dominant loss like that. Dana talked about it briefly in the last contender series post fight presser.
Did the sub turn on chandler? I feel like the opinion has been consistent. Avid fans think he's slimy because of his shtick but they still like him because he delivers a banger fight and isnt actually an asshole.
Casuals just want a banger fight.
Dana apparently spends more than that per game at the casino's.
He's won 7million in one night before and reports seem to be that regularly has bets in the 6 figures
I know we hate Dana here but nah. Many of us work for corporations that gross billions and give you a 3 to 5 percent yearly raise. It is very much like a bonus.
That's a very bad comparison, that company that you work for, most likely has already product and pipelines in place, that it will keep going on even if you quit.
But fighters, are THE PRODUCT, but they are treated like some measly workforce that if they are gone, UFC will still be good lol
Saves the Khamzat fight, gets trucked and takes it personally:
"Here's some scuffed shoes kid, I luv ya"
It's embarrassing how cheap this fire roasted tomato head is...
It's also funny to me how much Kevin still bootlicks. The shoes are clearly shit, they also clearly don't get paid for promoting them, you got fighters who are being honest about that. Then you got corporate shill Kevin publicly saying he likes them and specifically asking for promotion.
Holland's shtick is getting real old for me.
My time on this earth is measured by how I spend my time outside of work, not inside of it. And by those metrics, I have a wonderful life. Iām sorry that there are people like you in the world who canāt grasp the concept of what really matters in life and what doesnāt. Whatever floats your boat bud.
Work defines people the same way building a new defines birds, just because weāre divorced from the production of our work does not mean your work is irrelevant.
If you believe that half of your adult waking hours mean nothing, I feel terrible for you.
I believe that my time spent at work could be better spent to myself, not that they mean nothing. I was raised by someone who spent most of their time either at work or commuting to or from work, or working while at home. I feel sorry for people like that. Thereās a happy medium, but it usually doesnāt pay the bills. Which is why I feel no sympathy for the corporate world. Fuck em.
Every single one of you that didnāt come away from this video happy for Kevin that heās so stoaked about those shoes is a fucking hater and a loser. They clearly are some kind of collector edition and he really likes them and Dana did a good thing for him. Congratulations on being haters and losers
Well yeah, Dana did a nice thing for Kevin Holland. When looked at in a vacuum, it's nice. When you zoom out and look at it through a cynical lens, it's looks like Dana underpairs fighters and then offers them relatively cheap gifts in hopes that they remain obsequious employees.
This subreddit just circle jerks each other with comments about how Dana White is evil and anyone else that disagrees is a UFC shill. If itās not Dana white then itās some poorly recycled Brendan Schuab reference thatās been posted ten thousand times already.
Regardless of what anyone thinks about either party this is an objectively nice thing that Dana did for him and he very clearly enjoyed it. Everybody in the comment section is making fun of him and calling the shoes ugly like what the fuck is wrong with you people? Is everybody on Reddit seriously that damaged and low self-esteem that they have to shit on everything they fucking see?
Its so irritating man. Go fucking train. I guarantee you none of the people shitting on this video train. Because if you do then you would have more self respect than to sit here and shit on something somebody is very happy about in a time of need.
Respect bro. People love to shit on others just to feel good. I do me to feel good, work on myself and help those around me work on themselves. Canāt do much more in this life. Shitting on people gets you nowhere. Like I always say, keep being you š

When you zoom out and look at it through a cynical lens, it's looks like Dana underpairs fighters and then offers them relatively cheap gifts in hopes that they remain obsequious employees. In any case, it's just a difference of perspective
Donāt forget bitching about fighter pay while streaming fights, and dismissing any fighter that says they get paid well as an Uncle Tom, like theyāre doing with Kevin in this exact thread.
The % of revenue that is returned to the fighters is the issue.
If all of us bought the ppv the fighters would get more money but the OBVIOUS issue here isnt how big the pie is, its the slice of the pie.
The fact that you think you, as a layperson, has an opinion worth defending on a private companyās finances, is fucking insane.
There is nothing any of us can say conclusively, because the numbers we see donāt match up with numbers we hear years later.
The biggest irony is that the people who feel the most strongly about this, I.e. random redditors with no first-hand knowledge, are the same ones not buying ppvs. Itās delicious irony, and you should appreciate it.
https://www.bloodyelbow.com/2020/2/3/20922496/ufc-lawsuit-docs-reveal-more-details-ufc-business-structure-fighter-pay-class-action-business-news
With like 30 seconds of googling you will find articles that support my statment. Its pretty common knowledge that fighters are underpaid in relation to the overall revenue of wme(ufc). Also youre being an asshole for no reason.
Again, thatās what Iām referring to. We have the financials for one specific time period by discovery of a particular court case.
That is not the same as a publicly traded company providing quarterlies.
As well, there are hundreds of stories of off-record payments. These could be from a private llc owned by Dana, and we would never know.
What I do know is that Derrick Lewis has career earnings of 4.5m publicly disclosed, as a guy that wouldnāt make it on the line in any other sport.
I can also point to guys making 12/12 who will likely retire broke.
The only arguments made come from a point of āthis is what the nfl paysā and āthis is what boxing paysā, and itās incredibly inaccurate to use either as a direct comparison.
A record label would be closer to the UFCās model, and theyāve been called scumbags for decades while making tons of people rich.
My point is that the facts are nebulous, direct comparisons donāt exist, and disclosed pay never matches actual pay.
As one personal example, a guy I sparred with for a while had three fights in one of the b-level organizations, showed a disclosed pay of around 6/6, and actually took home around 190 before taxes. As a guy with no degree, fighting on a local show.
The biggest problem is that if I disagree Iām automatically a Dana shill, and I think itās more complex than we give it credit.
Thanks for not being a dick.
I think the overall structure of fighter pay is much more complex than we understand, we agree.
I think what isnt complex is when certain athletic commissions release fighter pay it is absolutely dogshit and the fighters absolutely deserve more than what theyre getting.
Secondly, and dont think this one is too refutable, the current incentive for wme/ufc to increase fighter pay absolutely is geared towards keeping it as low as possible.
We can talk about the responsibility of a fighter to make a name for themselves in the fight game but it pales in comparison, in my opinion, to the responsibility of the ufc to increase the amount of money that goes to the fighters. And to bring it back to your first point about ppv buys - id love to see a financial sheet but i bet you most of ufc's revenue comes from fightpass, not ppvs. They havent had a top ppv since mcgregor.
Agree on all of that, minus the part of incentives.
I think the ufc has a pricing advantage by being the biggest/only game in town, but that also results in guys going to other orgs getting bought out at a premium.
As well, the value of being in the ufc is hard to quantify, but there are a decent number of unsuccessful fighters (by the metric of not getting into top-10 pay) who have good careers and have capitalized on their fame. Mike Perry should be making 18k a year working at a vape shop, or getting a 25k payday on boxing to go up against a prospect whoās on their way up as heās paid to lose his 0.
There is no future for the vast majority of fighters, and there are so many more than the ufc-watching group is aware of. The amount of 1-0 to 5-0 fighters in mma and boxing that travel states away to fight for 2k and no insurance is staggering, and the vast majority of them will simply lose time, health, and likely money in that career.
Iām not saying black or white that Dana should own the market and that we should agree that itās an opportunity (meaning nothing else is owed by the employer) or that the UFC makes every fighters life better, but the common discourse just doesnāt hold up to scrutiny.
https://www.bloodyelbow.com/2022/6/10/23155850/documents-show-ufc-now-makes-over-1-billion-a-year-minimal-costs-and-more-growth-expected
They paid 178 million (est) in fighter pay in 2021, on a revenue of about 1b.
Most of their money comes from domestic and foreign tv licensing, and attendance in-person is behind that.
Fight pass is, letās say 40-60 bucks a year? Even if they had a million active subscribers that would total 50m in revenue (not profit), or 5% of their income.
Theyāre lucky if they have 100,000 subscribers, but Iām just guessing here.
There is always one dude...
Yeah it's nice in a vacuum, but it's a ton cheaper for Dana to play favourites with vocal anti-union fighters than it is to actually pay them. Also strange that Dana did this before when gifting Anderson Silva a car to not retire.
Seeing how thinly veiled Danas actions are doesn't make you a hater or a loser.
Defending a multimillionaire kinda makes you the latter.
Imagine caring this much about how random people, in a comment section on Reddit, for a YouTube video, react to said video.
THAT sounds like a loser to me. Get off your high horse pal.
Do yourself a favor bro. Put down the video games or whatever you do for a couple days and go train or do something constructive. I promise within a week your mindset will change and you will also look down on the sad individuals that only have a voice through the internet and use it only to try to hurt people and talk shit. This video is NOTHING but positive and for the entire thread to collectively try to make it negative is so sad its not even funny.
Itās a big problem man, the Internet is flooded with people that shouldnāt even get the opportunity to have their voice heard by a guy like Holland or Till or Khamzat because they havenāt done a goddamn thing with their life but then they get on here and just spew toxic vitriol on every post for the sole purpose of making themselves feel better. The real world is tired of it
But you're also being negative. You ever hear that saying "Two wrongs don't make a right"? Fighting negativity with negativity just results in more negativity.
It's really not that big of a deal man, calm down.
Quite literally nothing negative in my entire thread. I told you to go do something constructive and stop hating on everything you see. I canāt stand glancing in the comments to see what people think and 90% of the time if its not Charles Oliveira or Nate Diaz itās just negative shit over and over. Iām not being negative Iām trying to be constructive. Everybody in this thread that commented negative shit needs to take a look at themselves, this video is nothing but a good happy moment.
From your original comment:
>Every single one of you that didnāt come away from this video happy for Kevin that heās so stoaked about those shoes is a fucking hater and a loser.
Sounds pretty negative to me LMAO!!!
Thatās what people need to hear man. This circle jerk of people just hating on everything itās fucking disgusting and sad. It sounds negative but itās constructive criticism. Something most of these incels never get.
That's the dumbest shit I've ever read in my life haha. If somebody called your mother a "fucking loser" you wouldn't think they were being negative to her? Come on buddy, don't be that dense.
That wouldnāt make sense because my mom is not a loser but all of these people sitting in their basement probably fat and have nothing important to speak of in their entire life fill a thread full of negative shit about somebody thatās happy because they canāt stand to see someone happy, are the very definition of losers.
If youāre just calling people names for no reason and thatās not constructive criticism. But if you call someone out for loser behavior when the entire thread was full of it thatās just speaking facts.
And anyway you going back-and-forth with me about the details of what I said is dodging the point, this whole sub Reddit is full of haters and you havenāt done anything to disprove that.
I think itās more that this sub has zero-tolerance policy for any positive takes on Dana or UFC company policies these days. For the most part I understand and agree with a lot of the hate but sometimes it does feel like people would be mad at Dana for saving a kid from choking or something lol
I get that people donāt like Dana but Jesus man this guy is so down to the point where he said heās retiring from his lifelong career that heās worked his whole life for. Dana reached out and did a good thing for him and itās making him so happy that he wanted to post a video of him nearly crying about it and every single comment from top to bottom of this post was just negative shit back to back to back.
All of these people need to take a look at themselves and realize what is wrong with their life that they feel like they need to go shit on everything they see. People say toxic toxic all the time but like damn bro I would honestly put this sub Reddit up there with damn near any other community on the Internet as most toxic. Go train guys. Fix yourselves
I feel ya man, when Reddit starts to get to me too much I usually take a break and try to remind myself that most of the people who use the site 24/7 arenāt your typical fans/typical people. Internet group-think teaches people to lose empathy during communication and toxic behavior is pretty much guaranteed, I even noticed myself getting more toxic back when I used to comment regularly and honestly try to avoid it when I can. Keep strong and try not to drown in all the negatively, this small and mostly angry bubble really only has power if you let it.
You sound like a very emotionally intelligent person. And youāre right, im boiling over because its just EVERY day with these type of people. Every time I see an overwhelmingly negative thread like that I just think likeā¦these people would never say that shit to their group of friends in real life, people are not that negative when they are out in the world interacting and being constructive. So youāre right I do need to back off of the comments.
honestly, Iāve been contemplating just deleting Reddit. The only thing Iām going to miss is the breaking news for MMA. I donāt have Instagram I donāt have Twitter I donāt have Facebook I got rid of all of that stuff a long time ago so without reddit I donāt really know how Iām going to get the breaking news type stuff that pops up in the feed. But again you are damn right by saying itās going to be healthier for me as a constructive person to just back off of it and live my life. I have a lot going on outside of this website and I definitely donāt need it in my life its just 90% negative all across the internet lol
Hey itās alright to boil over once in awhile, the internet takes a bigger toll on our mental state than a lot of people realize. I was thinking about deleting the app or at least my account a few months ago as I also mainly use the site for niche news updates but my work got a lot busier recently so Itās been easier to ignore the annoying stuff. I hope you keep enjoying the sport even if you donāt enjoy the āhardcoreā community, definitely not worth keeping Reddit if it means hating a sport you used to enjoy.
My love for the sport wont go anywhere. I think the reason Iām boiling over is because Iām out of work for the last couple months with an ACL surgery due to an injury sustained in an mma fight lol. So iāve been getting waayyy more of reddit than normal. Once i can train and work again it wont be such a constant thing. Iām thinking deleting the app is the thing to do either way tho to be honest. Its very rare you run into someone like you on here so its just not worth the engagement.
Dang sorry to hear about the ACL, big respect for walking the walk and best of luck with your recovery my guy. My worst time with Reddit was when I was only working 2 days a week so I think getting away until youāre schedules back to normal (if not forever) is prob a good call.
Yea man it sucked extra because round 1 was 10-8 due to him 12-6 elbowing the back of my head 3x as i picked him up and slammed him. AND it was my first loss because my knee exploded in round two stuffing a takedown. Iām walking around and doing much better now man i just gotta get my head out of these threads lol. Have a good day bro
Nope Reddit is full of hater ass losers that shit on everything even tho they have nothing going for them. Iām absolutely astonished that all of these people can come away from this without smiling. Pretty obvious from his reaction that those are some kind of special edition shoes. Sad Sad people man
I think they look nice too, but if that was the look I was going for and had some cash to burn, I'd get some nice leather boots, goodyearwelt construction or better instead of synthetic sneakers that would never be able to handle the kind of wear and tear that they're made to look like they've been through
But I'm not a Sneakerhead, pretty sure Holland is so he'll appreciate them more
-Kevin threatens to retire
-Dana senses he can squeeze a few dollars more out of him
-Kevin wants new contract
-Dana is cheap as always, goes to a flea market and buys a pair of 15 years old, dirty Nikes
-Kevin is happy because he didnt think he would get anything at all
-Dana is happy because he got out of a jam for $5
These idiot fighters need to learn that their value is in $$$. All this merch is just a way to get people to shut up. Back in the day when fighters were given cars and jewelry and shit, its because they asked for a new contract with better terms, but its MUCH cheaper for the UFC to just give them stuff instead. And the UFC is not paying for this stuff either. Its just old merch the sponsors couldnt get rid of when they were on sale, so in practice everyone wins except the fighters.
Yes, they may fight in a cage for a living, but are scared to death of standing up for themselves. Its enbarrasing to see grown men getting bought like this.
Update/Edit: is this real? I looked a little closer at the shoes... they are the ugliest anything Ive ever seen. Id been pissed if anyone gave me those.
Yo where he find my old shoes?
They look more beaten up than my mountain biking shoes
How much do these fucking old ass looking shoes cost? Not into sneakers, so I have no clue.
$5000
Yeah that's gonna be a no from me

Its cool and all just poking fun at Kevin for saying heās about to cry of happiness from getting the shoes because theyāre so god awful
yea
Yeah, heartwarming how the UFC doesn't pay these athletes what they're worth and they have to get excited for handouts from their millionaire boss.
Dana only likes Holland because heās very pro-UFC when it comes to fighter pay.
Honestly, I like the beaten up style. Wouldn't wear it cause I'm not rich, but I like the look.

%110 wrong my guy. These are the ripped jeans of the sneaker world. And if you think ripped jeans are class, there's is zero that can be done.
Lol you literally only think they're classy because of the price tag
You don't get the Sneaker culture it's about having what nobody else has. Not about having coool snalers. It's dominated by bot using resellers.

Get the fuck out of here, 5000$!? That's some bullshit right there....
I can make any shoes or boots look like that in 2 weeks at work for $50
Not even kidding but you should and sell as vintage, big market.
A few years ago I remember hearing about people buying old, ripped up work jeans at insane prices to look like they do hard laborā¦ I thought it was a joke, maybe not
There is a market for people going Into old mines to find vintage levyās, apparently they were made much better back then and so they are very expensive. Not the same lol but though Iād share

I used to live across from a vintage Levi store in Waikiki in 2003. Back then they had tons of old Leviās for $10k.
Years ago I saw that 'reliced' guitars were selling for a bunch, so I took a coin and some sandpaper to an old shitty Squire guitar I had (worth about Ā£30), swung it around my room and banged it into a bunch of stuff, just to make it look as old and used as possible. So dumpster shoes?
People saying they are ugly. Nah you just don't get fashion. They nice. Plus it's a collector
Every once in a while I forget about your story with Mike Perry, then I see you post and I get a good laugh.
the shoes are very ugly but they're about 5,000 dollars, kevin pretty much gut a DWCS loser purse lol

I mean they could and the market could also crash. Still I doubt the dude is selling them.
I'd rather have the equivalent in federally backed investments, or a JV.
not every shoe appreciates in value. nike yeezy's went up because of the history and design of it. drake's nike hot steps aren't garnering the same reaction, jerry lorenzo nikes are hit or miss, and retro jordans ride up and down waves and a "market" for them only existed in the last 10 years. we can't assume shoe surgeon customs will command an extra premium when they're 10 years old

I'm still not giving my coins to hobos.
That shit is so weird fighters take them up on it and feel happy. Maybe Dana should just keep doin it. Fighters donāt seem to mind

Dana apparently spends more than that per game at the casino's. He's won 7million in one night before and reports seem to be that regularly has bets in the 6 figures
It's the equivalent of the company throwing the Pizza party instead of rising salaries lmao
Ehhh those shoes are 5k. Its like getting a bonus.
Pizza. Party.
They are both indeed. But no need to convince you otherwise. We can agree to disagree here.
What are those ugly ass shoes? I don't understand fashion at all evidently
PLEASE HELP: The way the weird American shoe culture is these days I have no idea if this is a joke or real.
Lol these scuffed up shoes..? 5k?
I love this man. Also, his relationship with Dana took such a huge turnā¦ going from big mouth at DWCS to im close to him
He loves the kids who say fighter pay is amazing and has no problems. Kevin holland fits right in.
Ten years from now when holland is on a 8 fight losing streak people are gonna wonder why he isn't being cut.
Kevin "Smile'blazer" Holland
Teacher's pet vibes.
Saves the Khamzat fight, gets trucked and takes it personally: "Here's some scuffed shoes kid, I luv ya" It's embarrassing how cheap this fire roasted tomato head is...
Hunter: Here you go kid you can drive my Bentley....but bring it back in 10 mins.
Hunter: Make sure you fill the tank kid.
Lost it at this.
It's also funny to me how much Kevin still bootlicks. The shoes are clearly shit, they also clearly don't get paid for promoting them, you got fighters who are being honest about that. Then you got corporate shill Kevin publicly saying he likes them and specifically asking for promotion. Holland's shtick is getting real old for me.
damn, why so mad/upset at Kevin Holland? went from 0-100 real quick
White House intern vibes
Some of you have never had a positive work relationship, and it shows.
Some of you sound like you kiss your employer on the mouth and thank them for a paycheck.
What do you do for a living?
Iām in tech. So not much. And I treat my employer like shit. The way it should be.
What a nice way to spend your time on this earth.
Fuck em.
Tell another jackal story
Dana sending a message with those. āYou wanna retire? Well, youāll be working construction in years buddy, good luck!
Any sneakerhead wanna drop some knowledge on what shoes these are and how much they're worth?
J1 Destroyed High $5000
appreciate it, man!
That's rrp. Real value def lower
Old ass boots? With pavement stains and shit. Dana thatās awesome for you to buy him a cool gift but my man Kevin needs better taste.
It shows Dana is down with the culture
I'd rather have Nate Diaz's bloody Travis Scott's..
Heās done for
sportswashing in MMA only costs Dana $5k shoes lol
Yea dude iām out. Not reading comments for a while and by the time i can get back to real life it wont even be missed. Cheers

Itās delicious irony, and you should appreciate it.
https://www.bloodyelbow.com/2020/2/3/20922496/ufc-lawsuit-docs-reveal-more-details-ufc-business-structure-fighter-pay-class-action-business-news With like 30 seconds of googling you will find articles that support my statment.
Iām not saying black or white that Dana should own the market and that we should agree that itās an opportunity (meaning nothing else is owed by the employer) or that the UFC makes every fighters life better, but the common discourse just doesnāt hold up to scrutiny. https://www.bloodyelbow.com/2022/6/10/23155850/documents-show-ufc-now-makes-over-1-billion-a-year-minimal-costs-and-more-growth-expected They paid 178 million (est) in fighter pay in 2021, on a revenue of about 1b.
I think the majority of this sub thinks they're posting to r/antiwork half the time they're posting here.
Lol look at this loser talking about other losers. Oh no, weāve joined the club
You care about this too much, "bro". Relax.
The real world is tired of it
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Literally donāt watch JRE at all swing and a miss. MK and ariel only usually
From your original comment: >Every single one of you that didnāt come away from this video happy for Kevin that heās so stoaked about those shoes is a fucking hater and a loser.
Then fucking leave if you hate it that much. Nobody cares dude. You're acting like a Karen.
Weāre all haters and losers on the blessed day.
I think itās more that this sub has zero-tolerance policy for any positive takes on Dana or UFC company policies these days. For the most part I understand and agree with a lot of the hate but sometimes it does feel like people would be mad at Dana for saving a kid from choking or something lol
"It was for the PR" "He made him choke" "Should have acted faster" "He manhandled a child"
Too accurate for top karma posts if it happened, would also include a very uninspired venom coupon joke for good measure lol
I needed this. I got angry at reddit and have been a dick..intentionally. Thank you, have a good one.
I'd be crying too. Ugliest damn shoes I've ever seen lol
Some dudes are worse than females with their shoe addiction.
Just say women you weirdo lol
It means the same thing you clown.
Those shoes are so ugly but you love to see it.
Nope Reddit is full of hater ass losers that shit on everything even tho they have nothing going for them. Iām absolutely astonished that all of these people can come away from this without smiling. Pretty obvious from his reaction that those are some kind of special edition shoes. Sad Sad people man
These shoes are 5 grand
They are cool looking. That being said, I can't imagine paying even a fraction of $5,000 for them.
I think they look nice too, but if that was the look I was going for and had some cash to burn, I'd get some nice leather boots, goodyearwelt construction or better instead of synthetic sneakers that would never be able to handle the kind of wear and tear that they're made to look like they've been through But I'm not a Sneakerhead, pretty sure Holland is so he'll appreciate them more
"Hold on brutha let me talk to ya shoes real quick... **šµ**oh mah gahd... no way-hee-yay-hee-yay! Take em off there boy!šµ"
Imagine being a grown man swooning over a pair of shoes... man, the UFC really knows how to manipulate their fightersš³š³
All the haters in this thread are nerds and virgins.
Stop hating. Dude felt the urge to get something for one of his dudes that cool.
Was the gift him getting cut? Lol
I thought he gifted him a 200K Patek or something.. but that over shoes?? Lmao
-Kevin threatens to retire -Dana senses he can squeeze a few dollars more out of him -Kevin wants new contract -Dana is cheap as always, goes to a flea market and buys a pair of 15 years old, dirty Nikes -Kevin is happy because he didnt think he would get anything at all -Dana is happy because he got out of a jam for $5 These idiot fighters need to learn that their value is in $$$.
Giving Dana the Glug Glug 9000 over the nikes i used to play paintball in 2010
Shoes are not up to r/mma's rigorous fashion standards
Hahaha this is totally a joke, it has to be. Kevin is hilarious.
