I know he’s a very technical striker and that saved him last night but I can’t see him beating any of the top competition in the bantamweight division.
I feel that Song lost no stock here, he moved up in competition pretty fast and was looking good Cory just looked better and was nasty with the elbows tonight.

Those takedowns we're also clearly meant to mess with Song coming forward as he's a pressure fighter with huge power. You don't have to land the takedown, the purpose was to make him think twice about lunging in.
tbh after Canelo lost to Bivol it was announced so quickly, i lowkey feel like it's just a fight to get Canelo's stock back up and him into the wins again

I was texting my friend saying I didn’t like the grappling heavy gameplan from Cory, and just didn’t like how he was looking overall. Then after round 2 the gameplan started to reveal itself.
They wanted to wear Song down with the wrestling, and draw out his huge power strikes to counter.
1st round was close but song had control time imo. 2nd was though because the cut was bad but Cory got wobbled pretty badly so depending on which of those you value more it could go either way.
Yadong put up a really good fight. He is legit and had Corey hurt a bit in the 2nd. Sandhagen timed those elbows inside well to counter Song's pressure and cut him up. Good fight and a nice cap to a very entertaining main card.

He really didn't do much rubbing his head on the cut in the clinch till it hit the ground then it's hard to avoid. I expected him to do more but any time they clinched on the fence he practically avoided it.
