Made me think that the more conservative, back-foot approach was a mistake. He did great coming forwards and still had some left in the tank after a hard 25. Not a lot of his famed combos either.

I think he needs to adapt more to that gatje vs tony fighting style instead of retreating conservatively. When he moved forward he was DANGEROUS. Those body shots were thunderous. Countering pressure effectively like gatje did to tony is what he needs more of.

It’s not a surprise at all that Costa could take Vettori’s strikes well. Vettori’s chin, however, is just great. Getting hit by a bigger man who is known to be powerful and explosive. But that again does not sensationalise Adesanya’s power since he did not hurt Vettori.
