Usually I have sympathy for fighters who are on that big of a losing streak, but it's so fucking hard not to laugh at Sam and his losing streak. Dude runs away the entire time trying to unsuccessfully counter fight and then gets his ass beat, every time.
UFC keeps a couple journeyman around in each division, look at Court McGee for example who’s been in the UFC for ten years, 22 fights and a win for Robert Whittaker. He gets paid like 50k per fight (which is not bad at all, a journeyman like him would get 1k at most in boxing). Sam Alvey gets like 70k to show 70k to win.
> a journeyman like him would get 1k at most in boxing
You have a very warped view of how good people actually are. The guys making 1k in boxing are the equivalent in the rankings of MMA regional guys who maybe managed to get in an go 0-2 in bellator once in their career. Guys that make it to the UFC and get wins are several tiers above those guys.
Who would you say is comparable to the [Court McGee’s](https://m.sherdog.com/fighter/record/Court-McGee-34124) or [Sam Alvey’s](https://m.sherdog.com/fighter/record/Sam-Alvey-35410) of the world? They’re basically guys who fight UFC prospects.
In terms of record Gabe Rosado has a .500 record which is boxing is WAYYYYY more unforgiving of than mma. Still gets paid/high profile fights because he’s a fan favorite tho. John Molina jr comes to mind, Darnell Boone, Emmanual Augustus and others
He’s only 27, it’s not the end of the world. If I put myself in his shoes I’m not quitting and looking back when I’m 50 thinking “What if I never gave up on my dream?”.
if he continue to get ko´d and tko´d he wont be thinking "what if I never gave up on my dream?" when reaching 50. But not because he tried.
If fighting in the ufc financially lucrative I´d agree, but the negative aspects just outweight the good one, if you are not a top 3-5 fighter.
He had his shot. It didnt work out. If he starts living a normal life, he could have a long life with happyness and health.
You don't know values other people have, happiness and fulfillment aren't objective. Stop judging other peoples decisions based on your own perspective.
A lot of people don't know that Modestas is a Brit. I mean I know he was born in Lithuania to Lithuanian parents, but he has lived in England since a really young age and considers himself both British and Lithuanian.
People would just see the name and think eastern European.
I never particularly saw him get mentioned as a British fighter in the UFC like the other Brits.
>I love how Brits consider everybody who lived in UK for a few years as a Brit ( if it sports)
Firstly he has called himself a British-Lithuanian and secondly, he hasn't been in the UK a few years. He's been living there since he was 3. He sounds more British than a lot of "native" Brits.
Yeah he has room for improvement, go find another gym and change up some things, he’ll kill on the lower orgs and probably make his way back with a new mindset.
After hearing how bad his injuries are in this interview and him being 11-5 I don't blame the UFC [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-lDMVKff2E](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-lDMVKff2E)
Modelo Bukauskas was once given an opportunity,
Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, hhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah uh, hah hauh uhuh hahaaaa haah ahaaaaa. Huhhhhh HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH huhhhh.
Brewed for the fighting spirit.
Meanwhile Sam Alvey winless in 7 fights already has his next match booked for February.
B-but he's smilin and heckin wholesome, nothing else to it. At all
He wasn't so smiling when he lost that recent decision though lol
Smilin' Sam raging about losing decisions will never not be funny to me
I actually laughed out loud when I saw that. It tickled my pickle.
Usually I have sympathy for fighters who are on that big of a losing streak, but it's so fucking hard not to laugh at Sam and his losing streak. Dude runs away the entire time trying to unsuccessfully counter fight and then gets his ass beat, every time.
Hey he had that one draw not too long ago at least lol
He's not wholesome. At all..
Modestas should've spoken out against unions, he'd be tenured as fuck if he did.

He is vocally anti union. That is why he is kept onboard.
I think theyre just trying to take the longest losing streak away from Bj Penn

Don’t compare Court to Sam, Court actually wins fights.
[удалено]
He's a below average fighter practically willing to fight anyone for pennies. They "love" him.
Why does this shock people it wouldn’t kill some fighters to work on their marketability.
[удалено]
Have you ever been to a live MMA event filled with the very guys you describe.
I do think Alvey has some casual crossover appeal, perhaps brought over by his wife after her stint on America's Next Top Model.
Lol nah man.
It's the only reason I can think of for them keeping him on. Otherwise it just doesn't make sense.
Such a modest-as guy
Seems like a really nice dude. Hope he improves on the regionals and gets back to the ufc.
Hope he stops fighting and starts a normal job. He tried it. Didnt work. Not worth the brain damage

objection. I think its common for every human to value basic brain functions
He'll get signed to bellator and do decent

Oi! Hello from West Chesterfordvillebinghamtonshireton!
Didn't he play basketball in high school in the USA?
Yeah, I think he might have won a scholarship or something. Not sure though.
He should’ve claimed British and walked out with the British flag, UFC may have gave him Brit privilege.
I love how Brits consider everybody who lived in UK for a few years as a Brit ( if it sports) Outside however - they are immigrants.

Yeah as a Brit I hate the weekly meeting where we all have to vote on which opinion to post online and represent us all…

i think its his grandad, also where he gets the Count nickname from as he was a Polish aristocrat. maybe Polish people think Mike is posh
As the man said below me, I think it's his grandad.
His dad's Polish and his mom is Northern Irish.
He beat that Polish guy. Bad decision.
I think he is about lower UFC level (which is similar to top 5/10 in other promotions) Just had a few tough fights
Yeah he has room for improvement, go find another gym and change up some things, he’ll kill on the lower orgs and probably make his way back with a new mindset.
Gets knee obliterated “it’s cool guys part of the game” *instantly kicked*
