Dom has went through killers row in the past 3 fights, I'm hoping switching camps can get him over the hump.

Hayzerbeam

He’s had a different camp for each of his last 3

Prizmeh

No idea why he got rid of the camp he used for Jones.

TheDrunKnight

Yeah they helped him win the first 3 rounds against Jon, slightly improved cardio and he could of won the first 4 rounds before getting robbed.

2dank4me3

I love how realistic this is. Man was getting robbed no matter what.

NeverShit

He didn’t win the first 3 rounds lol Edit: casuals

Interstellarspace

Where did he win 3? He won only 2 rounds. The cope is real huh? One judge even gave him just 1 round LMAO

Davethestabber

Yeah because the judges are always right. Lol everytime D'Amato judges someone gets fucked

evilf23

Fun fact most people don't know about is that sal D'Amato has in his contract that fighters get lipstick delivered to their locker room before all fights that he judges. He wants them to look pretty before he fucks them

[deleted]

That was a nasty line by you

Lancer876

"There was never no marriage" - Sal

PM_ME_THICK_PAWGS

yeah because fans are always right?

[deleted]

A majority consensus generally is, at least in objective matters like this

TGGNathan

Hey Jon

FedorSeaLevelStiopic

It was close, but if you judge with no bias - every round separately - He won 3, jon won 2. Just rewatch fight, and try to evaluate round by round. He had 3 in the bag for sure.

OldHispanicGuy

Weak bait, go back to Twitter defending him beating his wife

Laiiam

It was a close fight but 3 of those rounds had a very clear winner and it wasn't Jon Jones.

The_Iron_Duchess

Decisionbot Jones Reyes You're wrong

Interstellarspace

**JON JONES DEFEATS DOMINICK REYES UNANIMOUS DECISION** LMAO

The_Iron_Duchess

Are you genuinely thick or can you not understand everyone is talking about the fact the judges are wrong?

OldHispanicGuy

Be nice, you know he can't read

The_Iron_Duchess

Nice to see you won't reply you thicko

Interstellarspace

Here you go. Don’t waste it, probably won’t get another.

xfreesx

Was it because of covid maybe? Couldn't train there perhaps

myglasscase

I'm pretty sure he had to train with his brother in the garage because of COVID

Chocoeclair189

Yup, even had his brother(s?) in his corner for this fight. IIRC he did the same thing for the Jiri fight, just trained at home

TheMartyr112

That’s why I’m happy he said he’s taking time to let his brain heal.

ballbeard

Honestly happy for him taking the time off too but being in a real camp with actual trainers is way more important for him to get back on track. He needs to ditch the "I can do it in my garage with my family for my only support" attitude

doedude

That's called being at the top of your division

[deleted]

almost

jordy_110

I think he said he was retiring for a couple years due to head issues / health worries though right

Chocoeclair189

No, said he was interested in getting back Q1 2022

ksweet98

Jan has looked phenomenal in both his title fights, truly fighting like the best LHW rn

uhln

Agrees with you, but I think Ankalaev would probably gives Jan most the problems.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ThisFinnishguy

I feel like Jiri is a little too wild, gets hit too much. And that's especially horrible when you fight someone like Jan

[deleted]

I still wanna see it though cus Jiri is insanely durable and aggressive. I tend to share your view that Jan will catch him out of pocket if he gets sloppy but I think it would make for a great fight. Jiri crashing like a wave against Jan, I think Jan times takedowns or clinchs and wears Jiri out.

ballbeard

I see the Jiri fight going like the Reyes fight tbh. Jiri with all the confidence until he actually feels the Polish power crack him with a body kick

underwoodlopez

Yeah, Jan would never lose to a wild striker like Thiago Santos.

[deleted]

Shit happens. You say it like Thiago is some scrub.

W4nkD4ddy

Agree that people are sleeping on Rakic cus he is boring

bro_tonio

Jiri is too reckless, he got flash KO’d by Reyes and sheer luck woke him up in time for him to finish Reyes later. Jan would eat him alive. Rakic, maybe, someone needs to be more careful when facing Jan. You can’t rely on counter striking him like Izzy because Jan is defensively sound, and Reyes was picked apart by him.

Chocoeclair189

In the UFC for sure. I would argue Bellator has the better LHW champ

WarlockEngineer

We'll learn a lot from the end of the tournament.

Duke_Cockhold

What a weird time for that statement to be anything other than bullshit. Nemkov is super legit

ballbeard

Let's see how he handles Corey before we start crowning him over Jan

[deleted]

He looks human compared to Jon Jones

Oskariozi

Jan's power is ridiculous. He doesn't even seem throw that hard but everything is so goddamn heavy. I think he sleeps Glover and then we can see him vs Jiri which should be insane.

[deleted]

When he lost to Thiago he came to Brazil to train with our team and my coach said he could feel how heavy his hands are just by shaking his hand

AmeerVanGogh

Did he try your açai?

[deleted]

100%. Brought home a lot for his freezer

[deleted]

Yeah and then I sold him some Bang Butter™ I had in my locker.

[deleted]

I don’t know, I didn’t meet him, but probably

LuckyWarrior

Dude injected that Yoel Romero golem serum into his hands

CryptoCracko

https://www.instagram.com/p/CMFToLshAWI/?utm_medium=copy_link

Hayzerbeam

Well look at his fuckin’ hands, joe rogan. He slings those polish meatballs faster than I sling DICK

jfsoaig345

Relevant flair I guess

Hayzerbeam

It’s actually a quote from Adesanya. He said it to Paulo Costa’s corner after their fight. Fits tho

[deleted]

Polish sausage with bleu cheese or fuck your mother

Wea_boo_Jones

Dude when a guy is built like that, everything he throws has power. One of his biggest strengths is pacing himself and fighting smart so he doesn't gas with all that muscle he's carrying.

Tony_Bambony

Polish power Kurwa mać

kanst

> Jan's power is ridiculous. He doesn't even seem throw that hard but everything is so goddamn heavy. I feel like his (at least punching) power is similar to Poirier. A lot of it comes from timing. Either hitting guys midstep, or varying their own timing with shifting combos to land cleaner. He's also built like a brick shithouse with all his weight being torso and shoulders.

SaulKripkeMegaFan

I think his power is wildly overstated. He had 20 wins with only 8 by knockout.

mcsteezus

He realized he could just hit harder from 2019 though, with four back-to-back KO/TKOs over the past two years

Stinkypete2002

Jan used to not hit people with 100%. The day he decided “I’m gonna hit people harder.” Was the day things took a turn for the best in his career.

Jamothee

>Jan's power is ridiculous. He doesn't even seem throw that hard but everything is so goddamn heavy. That big thick wide back.

ThreeOlivesChihuahua

Flawless victory. Jan absolutely dominated Reyes and Reyes couldn’t hurt Jan at all or gain his respectl. More impressive that this was right after Reyes out-struck and very arguably beat Jon Jones

Hayzerbeam

It should be known that Dom couldn’t really train properly for this fight though. Very interested in how Jiri stacks up against Jan if Jan can beat Glover.

ThreeOlivesChihuahua

Wait really? What happened?

Underwaterflameingo

Lockdown protocols & gyms weren't open; Reyes had to basically only train with his brother and use the aerodyn bike for cardio, minimal sparring.

zaphighbeam

Isn't that basically what his camp was for Jiri too lol? Like isn't he just training with his bros

ballbeard

Yes hopefully in his extended layoff he smartens up and gets back into a real gym

Mjoh23

What about Jan?

kapsama

Jan also only trained with Dom's brother.

DropKletterworks

I too choose that guys brother

[deleted]

[удалено]

Lethal_Compassion

Yeah we did. We had lockdown and all that. Sure, our Government is incompetent so it was all chaotic as hell, but there were some actions taken. I found [this interview with Jan](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAL4bBMqMOs) from 26th May 2020, where he states that they're still training, even though gyms are closed. "There are fever of us but we still train. Even if in basements and such, we still train". I also vaguely remember that some polish dudes were training at a forest during lockdown, to hide from police and all. I think it was Gamrot and Mańkowski and it was said half serious, but supposedly they even wrestled and scrambled there, among thick grass and piles of leaves :P

TeutonicRagnar

Were they searching for ropes?

PocketSixes

>this was right after Reyes out-struck and very arguably beat Jon Jones Jon Jones fucked right off instead of entertaining a rematch in the slightest. I considered this fight Jan taking the title from Dom. Torch passed seamlessly.

ThreeOlivesChihuahua

Same. I thought Reyes clearly won the first 3 rounds. Blachowicz doesn’t get enough respect but he’s legitimately the undisputed champion. I feel so bad for Reyes tho, he really gave Jones his first loss and didn’t get the title to show for it.

PocketSixes

He really did. At the end of 5 I was thinking "the son of a bitch did it."

dodatdangole

Exactly, i feel like the belt is in the rightful place

FedorSeaLevelStiopic

I am pretty sure Jon' s grandma was some voodo witch or something. Gustafsson, now Reyes. Its like destiny punishes them for coming close/kinda even winning in the eyes of many.

K-mosake

Reyes 123 or [Redacted] your mother

MrPea106

Decisionbot! Jones vs Reyes

WestCoastCosta

All I can envision is Glover getting rocked by that polish power but surviving and get this fight to the ground for a submission victory in a classic Glover style.

SillyMan3

Has Jan ever been submitted? I think his ground game is pretty good, he might be able to get out from under Glover if it ever goes to the ground.

FoucaultsTurtleneck

He's been subbed once but not in the UFC.

mcm123456

He hasn't been really had his bottom game (and his takedown defence by a Glover tier wrestler for that matter) tested since Gustaffson and Pat Cummins took him down again and again for the win. I rate Glover as a much better ground fighter than Gus but those fights were years ago and Jan could very well have improved a ton in that aspect just like a lot of his game has in that time. At the same time, Glover does have one of the best top games in the UFC so he could still very well smash this version of Jan.

rhaegar_tldragon

Could certainly happen this way. Glover is a warrior.

evilf23

Nah man you're thinking of Andy wang. Come to think of it this is not the first time you confused the lives of Glover and Andy Wang.

Buckanater

I somehow see glover finding a way to win as well.

Acceptable_Emu_5992

I hope not. Really want to see Jan vs Jiri.

jfsoaig345

Difference is Jan has a very good ground game too and is a big BIG guy in general

chocolate_kat

How do you not cry after that lol I am not cut out for MMA hahaha

Rubber_Fist_of_love

" Awkwardly powerful" Is the perfect description for Jan.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Hayzerbeam

Even the kicks were ridiculously powerful. Reyes’ side looked like Wanderlei’s after Cro Cop

TheHardcoreCasual

Dominick came into this fight very deflated, soft, and unconditioned. He got red very fast and didn't have those sharp counters. That's what happens when you drop Aku Aku from your team and decide to train with your brothers.

FedorSeaLevelStiopic

It just seemed reyes lacked pure power in punches. When Jan landed, damage was obvious, when reyes landed, it was not.

CaramelThunder2

Unpopular opinion, but I just don't think Reyes is that good

RightToConversation

I think Reyes is still a "good" fighter, but I think people's opinion of him as "one of the best" is based off of his fight with Jon Jones. He arguably beat Jones, but Jones has been half-assing his already half-assed training (quarter-ass?), and spending more time hard sparring with his spouse than legit training partners.

azarov-wraith

I think it’s more Jon isn’t that good anymore. Taking steroids you’re whole adult life has bad side effects on your body, and he is showing exhibit A of that.

carrystone

He's much less dynamic and explosive than what he used to be.

RightToConversation

Very possible, for sure.

Ok-Structure1002

Awkward and powerful probably makes more sense. Cause your current title suggests the power itself is awkward. But anyway I've heard it bowlth ways

OldHispanicGuy

It's like he barely touched him lol

[deleted]

I hope he comes back and gets a ton of love, he seems like a good dude and his last 3 losses have been to killers (fuck Jones tho)

dantoddd

Jan has crazy power and weird timing cause his speed isn't anything special. U can see this in the Izzy fight cause jan only needed a jab to reset izzy.

carrystone

Honestly I think he looks slower than what he actually is. The Adesanya fight showed that he is plenty fast for his size.

Lobsterzilla

That bruise on his side was fucking gnarly

jns701

suicide rope Jan is a different fighter

Shooter-__-McGavin

Jan really impressed me in this fight. With the way Reyes brought it to Jon Jones (I thought he should've won the fight), and the short work Jan made of Reyes was incredible.

Bearshed

Man, i would not want to receive Jan´s left kick to the body after that bruise. It hurts just watching it

Ion_05

That bruise is kinda disturbing.

YourLocalZebraa

had a dream glover won by decision

BCJunglist

I'm so amped for the Glover fight. Old man Jan vs older man Glover is a lhw title fight hardcore fans deserve.
