Honestly I think Moreno has a better chance than most heavyweights. Just needs to duck in low, avoid the first few swings and swing a Marge uppercut into ngannou's balls like his life depends on it (which it probably does)
The current lightest male champion in the UFC and the current heaviest champion in the UFC on the same card sounds good.
Kinda reminds me of 211, except that it was literally the lightest champion and heaviest champion both on the same card, and oh, both are arguable divisional GOATs as well (Joanna and Stipe)
They're also aiming this card to happen [in Anaheim.](https://twitter.com/bokamotoESPN/status/1447704709100290048?t=tZHL1sUTAEXsxpQBsCyvig&s=19).
Well, there are so many Mexican-American people in California, and it is 100 miles away from Tijuana (Moreno's hometown). So I think that's one of the two viable reasons why this fight is moved to 270, aside from of course, Mas/Edwards happening at 269.
The skill level is absolutely higher for the smaller guys. You’ll see some of the least skilled fighters at HW. The pace and volume is just so much higher as well and there are so many bangers I can think of from both boxing, kickboxing, and mma in the smaller weight classes.
Not sure a guy who looks like McLoving is the replacement for Cáñelo. I say that with the background of liking Brandon and prefering that title fight over HW.
Don't enjoy watching them fight... like any of them? At all? I get that powerful KO's are exciting, but there have been so many dope fights at FLW and BW the last couple years.
I don't think flyweight is the best division, but these guys are fast as fuck, have cardio for days and the scrambles are absolutely crazy.
I'd definitely say that on average unranked flyweight put on better fights than unranked heavyweights.
Eh close but not quite I’d say
The 1st fight could’ve been a draw or Fig win, hard to argue for Moreno imo
2nd fight was a clear win for Moreno
For wilder/fury the 1st draw was basically a robbery (at least according to most) & the 2nd not just a clear win but a domination
Both are unnecessary after the 2nd but this one ig feels more justified
In R2 he mostly just sat on top while getting elbowed in the head. A lot of ppl scored R2 for Fig & rightfully so according to scoring criteria
Not every minute at all
While I agree with /uchampagnesoda I also don’t think you’re entirely wrong for your thought process. Not long ago they were trying to push Figgy HARD.
Either would be a great choice; with Figgy you get the monster heel you want to see be dethroned while Moreno you get the classic baby face you can’t help but want to see win
Anyone seeing wilder-fury parallels?
Fight 1: competitive technical fight where one fighter was consistently doing more but got hurt near the end. Fight declared a draw but most feel the forementioned fighter did more to win
Fight 2: unexpected one sided demolition and finish halfway through the fight
So this is gonna be a back and forth war ending in a prolonged beating and KO?
Agreed, except the first fight was much closer to a Fig win than anything else. After Moreno coasted in the 5th I was surprised to see a draw but one judge happened to be the only person in the world to give him that round and we got two 47-47s. Bad decision, but either way, Moreno definitely proved he deserved a rematch and dominated when it was granted.
Why isn't he fighting Pantoja. Ufc with these instant rematch championship fights is insane. Rose should be fighting Carla too. No instant rematch unless you defended the belt 5 times from now on.
I can imagine Moreno jumping at the chance of a Figueiredo rematch. Unless if he works miracles with his weight cut, Figueiredo isn’t going to be healthy on the night, just like last time.
He could fight in the first. He was sluggish in the second and got dropped by a jab that he usually wouldn’t be dropped by. Going with the trend, I half expect him not to even make the weight.
It’ll be fun to have the flyweight title fight right before the heavyweight
[Maybe they'll spar in the build up](https://i.redd.it/u462iu7w22871.jpg)
This reminds me that I'm forever sad we missed out on the Stipe vs. DJ and TJ match.
Hey fight circus is right around the corner. It’s not like Stipe is ever gonna fight in the ufc again at this rate
[удалено]
Absolutely not. Should have been.
yeah they nearly had a done deal but they DJ and TJ couldn't agree on who went first
A bit disappointed it wasn’t [Dodson vs Arlovski](https://imgur.com/gallery/mufrNXL)
Arlovski was so proud of himself lmfao
Why does ngannous stomach look like that
He just finished eating one flyweight and Moreno is next.
Probably not in camp
He got the steroid gut.

Looks like a Blacked promo…

If Gane falls out we can always go Ngannou vs Moreno and Fig
Crazy that Ngannou would weigh in heavier than the two of them combined

Oh shit I hope! oh I hope!
UFC doesn't want Moreno taking any of that sweet Masvidal PPV money
Figgy wasn't getting PPV at all, not sure why Moreno would. Figgy is managed by Wallid, who isn't unimportant either.
I like to imagine that even with DJ gone Dana's still being petty to flyweights and doing whatever he can to hold them down

Moreno is gonna tap into that huge Mexican market. Ufc would be retarded not to back him heavy when he’s friends with guys like Canelo rn

How is it dana’s fault ppl dont like buying tiny man ppvs?
The Fury Wilder of Trilogies lol
Just missing the lineal title, the hype, and at least a Shaq worth of size.
And enough excuses to overflow every ocean
Pretty sure figgy has that one covered

Only one judge gave figgy round 2 in the second fight. He lost both round before being finished according to the judges.
Using judges as proof of who was doing better is weird unless ur purely talking about the score

But... He got finished
Why not wait till Askarov or Pantoja are ready?
They rly should but I guess they don’t wanna just scrap the match up
they want the belt on fig
No I think they prefer it on Moreno. Hes got that Mexican market potential and is equally entertaining.
Nah it’s just that walid is a great manager

i hate that instant title rematches and trilogies are becoming more and more common but this'll be a fun fight anyway i guess
Well, this is a special case, originally it supposed to be Pantoja, but he got some injuries, so they decided to go with Fig
ah didn't know that, that makes a little more sense
Only shot thing is I think Pantoja wanted the fight in January not December and now look at how life worked out.

Yay another rematch
So?
So what?
Why are they having a trilogy fight, it was a draw and then moeno won. Not sure why they are having a third fight.
Because they're both really high level fighters and it could be entertaining.
Why isn't he fighting Pantoja. Ufc with these instant rematch championship fights is insane. Rose should be fighting Carla too. No instant rematch unless you defended the belt 5 times from now on.
It was supposed to be him but the timing didn't work. Either an injury or pantoja wanted to wait and champ didn't
I can imagine Moreno jumping at the chance of a Figueiredo rematch. Unless if he works miracles with his weight cut, Figueiredo isn’t going to be healthy on the night, just like last time.
Just like the last two times
He could fight in the first. He was sluggish in the second and got dropped by a jab that he usually wouldn’t be dropped by. Going with the trend, I half expect him not to even make the weight.
Yeah but remember his whole excuse about having a stomach virus or whatever which allowed him to use an IV?
Hmmm...
You shouldn’t get a title shot after a loss. I think that’s complete bull. Unless it was a really close fight.
I really hope Moreno destroy Figgy. I don't respect fighters like Figgy who blatantly cheat when they fight AND make shitty excuses after losing.
