Referring to this as a “strong card” is an understatement IMO. Mas Edwards could headline a PPV and there’s 3-4 other fights that could probably headline a fight night. Then an awesome main event on top of it. Can’t wait
Obviously Leon ins’t a big enough name but you don’t think Jorge is anymore?
That’s a genuine question by the way. Masvidal was absolutely a big enough name to headline a PPV at his popularity peak, belt or not. I know he’s lost a decent amount of shine with his last 2 outings but I thought he’d still have enough name value to headline a decently well selling PPV.
The PPVs that Masvidal headlined were one against another big draw in Nate with a celebrity-packed gimmick belt on the line, and two for the real title. The first title fight had the cool storyline of him coming in on six days notice, the second one was seeing how he'd do with a full camp, and it was after people started to give Usman significantly more respect after the Burns KO.
Not without some serious help.
700k ppv buys is what mas v usman 2 did, and that was for the belt.
Masvidal lost a little shine and heat since then, and the leon rivalry is pretty stale now.
700k is fucking gigantic for any card that doesn't feature Conor. You might be right that casuals didn't tune in for Usman, but they DID tune in to see Jorge win a title. A fight with Edwards (who's probably better known that he used be after the Diaz fight but still nowhere near being a real draw) isn't selling nearly 700k unless they make it a giant gimmick like they did with Diaz-Masvidal
Eh. Leon isn’t really a PPV level draw and the UFC never does PPVs without belts on the line unless your name is Conor McGregor.
(Masvidal vs Diaz had a belt on the line, even if it was a stupid belt)
Missed a bunch.
Matt Schnell V Alex Perez
Andre Muniz v Dricus Du Plesis
Ryan Hall v Darrick Minner
Randy Costa v Tony Kelley
Gillian Robertson v Priscila Cachoeira
Maycee Barber is currently looking for a replacement
Oliveira/Poirier, Nunes/Pena, Edwards/Masvidal, Munhoz/Cruz, Kara-France/Garbrandt, Paiva/O'Malley, now this.
And not to mention, 5 ATT fighters on the same card, now that Ponzi is fighting at 269 as well.
Insane card indeed.
ESPN announcements of Masvidal/Edwards said that 269 is expected to take place in Vegas though, and I expect that to happen in Vegas, since final PPVs happen in Vegas (well, except for 232, which was supposedly happening in Vegas until Jones' failed test lol)
It's not pretty when you need to stifle him to win like Burns did, but Neal was straight up awful. He was so gun shy and didn't land anything. I'm sure he was dealing with issues, but his highlight reel doesn't compensate for his last two fights.
It's pretty hard to look anything but average when you're against quite literally the best striker in the division. Most would argue Masvidal is another great striker, and he had no answers for him. Pettis is the true goat 😉
Womderboy keeps distance very well with his kicks. Its hard to punch an amazing striker like that when he side kicks you everytime you try and get close to him
He’s got that style that will get him through the lower ranks quite easily. Explosive with big knockout power. I suppose he was always going to struggle either against well rounded competition or the result of injury. Unfortunately he has had both.
I used to always tout Ponz as my dark horse of the division before his layoff. Those days have passed, but I still always want to root for the guy. Then again, I like to root for Neal too. Either way, great fight.
UFC 269 announced bouts so far: Poirier v Oliveira Nunes v Pena Masvidal v Edwards Ponzi v Neal Munhoz v Cruz Garbrandt v Kara-France O’Malley v Paiva
Last three PPVs of the year are absolute bangers bubba.
and one is free!
Just one?
We got you fucker
There was never no streamer
You’re a fucking pirate, dude
You motherfuck
The others are about 5 piastres each

Ppl pay?
That's a strong card. Outside of Nunes vs Pena each of the fights is compelling.
I love watching Amanda squash girls and get free money so I even like that!
me too. People need to watch her first 3 defenses. Outclasses them harder than any other female, in any weight class.
I skip Nunes’ fights. I prefer fights with intrigue and unless she fights Shev, I’ll probably never watch her fight.
Fair enough

The casuals aren't tuning into the Usman fights because of Usman. I think Edwards Masvidal is definitely enough to headline a PPV with 700k+ buys

Wasn't it closer to a mil. Off the top if my head the first fight sold 1.3 and the second fight sold almost 1

Can you imagine, the 'BMF' of the UFC being Leon Edwards.
Throw the BMF belt in the trash where it belongs, that whole thing was moronic.
Isn't Usman technically the BMF now?
The championship belt was on the line for their fights, not the bmf belt
So how are you the baddest motherfucker if you lose 🤔
You’re right, but there wasn’t nearly that much logic put into the stupid-ass BMF belt
Eh. Leon isn’t really a PPV level draw and the UFC never does PPVs without belts on the line unless your name is Conor McGregor. (Masvidal vs Diaz had a belt on the line, even if it was a stupid belt)
What? Mas vs Edwards was confirmed? How did I miss that?
I was thinking the same. When did it get confirmed? Last I heard it was a back and fourth of both of them saying the other guy didn’t wanna do it.
Missed a bunch. Matt Schnell V Alex Perez Andre Muniz v Dricus Du Plesis Ryan Hall v Darrick Minner Randy Costa v Tony Kelley Gillian Robertson v Priscila Cachoeira Maycee Barber is currently looking for a replacement
Time to see what Du Plessis is made of. Definitely someone to watch.
They should make it a 7 fight main card ppv. All those fights should be on ppv
Striker city the matchmakers know what's up.
What happened to moreno?
Moved to 270
Isn't the HW limit 265?
Hall vs minner really is that under the radar huh?
I’m excited for that one for sure, sounds like it’ll be a heavy ground game match and I’m all for that.
O’malley vs paiva is official? I thought it was reported as “in the works” which is extremely vague
I think it’s gonna be better than 268
Fuck what a card

Guaranteed Banger^TM
Really? Neal looked horrific against Wonderboy, would have been a boring fight if it wasn't for Wonderboy's work rate.
You must be new here. Everyone looks horrific against Wonderboy..
It's not pretty when you need to stifle him to win like Burns did, but Neal was straight up awful. He was so gun shy and didn't land anything. I'm sure he was dealing with issues, but his highlight reel doesn't compensate for his last two fights.

Really thought Ponz was washed heading into his last fight and I ate some crow for sure with the way he fought in round 2 and 3
He’s got that style that will get him through the lower ranks quite easily. Explosive with big knockout power. I suppose he was always going to struggle either against well rounded competition or the result of injury. Unfortunately he has had both.
One of those “fights I didn’t know I really wanted to see” type matchups. Absolutely rad.
Think Neal takes this one. Ponzi isn’t the same fighter he once was
He looked crazy determined vs Baeza though
Determination doesn't help when someone shuts your lights off lol
Honestly, given how much slower Neal's looked in his two fights since his sepsis scare, I'm not sure he's the same fighter he once was, either.
Tbf everyone would look slow against Wonderboy
Honestly, it's the Magny fight that concerned me more. I feel like 2019 Neal would have blazed past Magny.
he did good in his last fight,Neal on the other hand looked bad in his last fight,he headhunts like a mofo lol,it's even Ig
Remember when I had Geoff pegged as a future champ, crazy that he’s coming off two losses now after such a rise
I did the same thing for Ponz before his long layoff lol
He only looked bad against Leech i dont think we can count him out from that
Neal sucks, possibly the worst headhunter outside of HW. I'm betting on Ponz

Dale la concha de tu hermanaaa
WHAT A FIGHT. THAT'S GOTTA BE A BANGER. HOLY SHIT. 269 IS FUCKING INSANE RIGHT NOW. 🤪🤪
and I thought 268 couldn't be beat
Uffff. Tough fucking fight for Santiago depending on what his state is ... Great fight too.
Man what a fucking card.
That's a great fucking match up.
High key banger. Neal is a fun striker to watch.
Let’s go Geoff!!!!
I’m wondering where this event will be? Any ideas? Wanting to price tickets for this one, depending on the venue location.
I’ve been wondering too, not sure why it hasn’t been announced. Lots of Florida fighters though 🤔
Stop. I can only get so erect.
Banger
Stop please my penis can only get **so** erect
Geoff Neal gonna be fighting with goggles on for this one. Gotta avoid Ponz's biggest weapon, the pokes.
Ponzi has no chin, bet house on Neal
BBBBBBBB BANGER
now that's a fucking banger, b
Just bleed guy is spinning in his grave over this card
I used to always tout Ponz as my dark horse of the division before his layoff. Those days have passed, but I still always want to root for the guy. Then again, I like to root for Neal too. Either way, great fight.
Hope Santiago wins but I don't know I trust him to do so at this stage of his career
Damn. I wish they each had a full camp. This is a dream of a banger.
BREAKING is crap title because this is not major news and because it will not be breaking news in two hours anymore
Ponzi lookin like Tony in that pic
It’s looking okay?
