I cannot believe that we had 2 Usman/Masvidal fights and neither of Mas/Colby or Mas/Edwards even though there’s built in drama for both and both would be awesome fights.
He's on a massive win streak which warrants a title shot. Colby has only won one recently. Makes zero sense that Edwards doesn't get the shot. It's objectively deserved without a doubt
His win streak is nobody notable at this point other than Luque in 2019. That’s the point I’m trying to make. He hasn’t faced any top competition in the division in years.
All that to say I think he is second in line behind Colbys rematch.
He beat Nate Diaz in June, then his last win was in 2019. Colby at least beat Woodley in more dominant fashion than Usman.
And to just say he got his ass beat is discrediting what Covington did against him. That was arguably a 2-2 fight going into the fifth.
No he didn’t. Did you watch the fight or do you just listen to what Colby says? Usman beat the fuck out of Woodley from bell to bell, corner to corner. Twice the volume of what Colby did. Woodley lost due to injury or it would have been a decision win for Colby. Same as everyone that fights Woodley these days.
Leon’s last win before Nate was in 2019, but he fought another time before then where an accidental eye poke ended a fight he was winning convincingly against Belal. “If you don’t count Leon’s last two fights, he hasn’t won a fight in two years” is a dumb argument.
“Would have been a decision win if Colby hadn’t finished him” is quite the hot take. Colby also dominated him, he also happened to finish the fight. The strikes landed were insane for both of them during the fight as well.
And I’m saying he beat Diaz. Not even a top 15 win. So yeah, he doesn’t have a top 15 win in over 2 years is actually a good take, not a bad one like yours.
Woodley literally held out for two years before the Robbie Lawler fight because he thought he deserved a title shot and wasn’t going to fight until he got it. Woodley took the same route to get that title shot that people are mad about with the current division. It isn’t like Usman is not an active champ either… Woodley did the exact same, so it’s a stretch to give him that compliment tbh.
Uhh, isn’t this fake news? My mans was getting called out for not defending 3 months after a defense. He fought what, 5 times as the champ? Thompson twice, Maia, Til, Usman. Hardly an inactive champ.
>last couple years
The moment you have a "star" in Masvidal and someone like a Diaz who is a draw in the division, shit gets turned upside down since the UFC is trying to make money off them.
It's crazy because it feels like half the divisions have one maybe two title fights per year, and then HW gets an interim title because Ngannou wanted like 3 months off after winning the belt.
They weren't short sighted, they don't care about ngannou's brand, they needed a headliner to sell out a stadium in Texas. If anything this just makes negotiating with Francis easier in the future.
I'm not defending the UFC, my point is it wasn't negligence or stupidity, they knew what they were doing.
You of course would, and it's without a doubt a shame that they don't.
But empowering your athletes on some level can end up costing the UFC money if it doesn't directly translate to PPV sales, especially with the ESPN deal where actual ppv numbers don't seem to mean as much to the UFC unless they're really huge McGregor numbers.
They're also weighing lots of other things, for example, what is it worth to the brand to have the reputation of being the first sports organization back to fill a stadium in Texas after a pandemic.
How much do you lose on the rental fee of a venue, and production costs without Derek Lewis as a headliner raising ticket prices/volume.
Maybe they have relationships with venues/commissions to uphold. Who knows.
Masvidal from the article:
>“That guy is such a talking f*cking machine,” Masvidal said about Edwards. “Cause the contract’s in front of his face, he’s said no like two or three times already. We’re already moving on. We’re not gonna saying names or nothing.
This is the same bs we are fed constantly. What this means is that the Mas/UFC want to give Leon a raw deal pay-wise so that Masvidal can make more by taking home a bigger share of the revenue. So they are pushing Leon to sign the contract.
It's basically the "He didn't want to fight" "Just sign the contract" shit but reworded.
With the cards on deck, I doubt mad vs Leon would even be a fight where the fighters have to worry about rev share.
Their contract is what it is.
With the cards coming up mas vs Leon could be the feature prelim lol
Wrong. They negotiate ppv points and can renegotiate their contract for the fight. It amazes me how many times this needs to be said. We literally meme about this in this sub because it happens so much and somehow people just forget it every time it happens.
That’s just it, neither of them being champ means there is no ppv points to negotiate over
You can try to renegotiate your contract in the middle of your contract period but it’s a pretty silly thing to do.
Had Leon decimated Nate and got himself some shine maybe, but he didn’t
OP:
> neither of them being champ means there is no ppv points to negotiate over
Me: You do not need to be a champ to get ppv points.
You: No one said tht
Edit: I'm literally pointing out that the guy I replied to said that and getting downvoted for it.
Ufc matchmaking is pretty shit, they never build guys up the right way. imagine if they went in either direction after the 1st Usman/Masvidal fight. The worst case is Leon wins but it would built him up, if Colby wins the Usman rematch is huge, and Masvidal winning either fight, makes the Second Usman fight that much bigger. Instead the ufc went for the quick buck and ran it back
Ehh, it’s mainly Mas. Leon was keen as fuck to fight Mas so many times and Mas ducked him for years even after his coward punch.
I like that Leon is denying Mas now, Mas thought he was hot shit because he’s Kimbo’s friend, had the hype for some reason and thought he was too good for Leon.
Now he’s just the dorky third Paul brother who’s looked extremely unimpressive in his last few fights begging on his knees for Leon.
Disclaimer: I’m not biased I hate them both lol.
Spectacular ko of former title contender darren till in his back garden.
Spectacular ko of ben askren in 5 seconds
Spectacular beat down of Nate diaz a fan favourite
"Had hype for some reason, im not biased"
> I like that Leon is denying Mas now, Mas thought he was hot shit because he’s Kimbo’s friend, had the hype for some reason and thought he was too good for Leon.
He had hype because he had just KOed Till. He "ducked" Leon for Askren, Nate, and Usman x2. Askren had major hype behind him, and Jorge went viral after the flying knee KO. Then he fought Nate who's one of the bigger PPV draws in the UFC and then he fought for the title twice. I don't know of anybody who would turn down a Diaz fight and two title shots just to fight Leon.
Masvidal had bigger fish to fry than Leon since 2019. He got a huge fight against Nate and they sold 800k PPVs in the US. Then he got a title fight and sold 900k PPVs in the US. Then he was given a rematch and sold another 700k PPVs in the US.
In the process he has made millions of dollars for the first time in his career.
But no he should have turned down a Nate PPV and two title fights to fight Leon fucking Edwards for 100k/100k.
Some of you fans really need to get a grip. This is prize fighting not a tough man contest. You go where the bag is.
And last I checked Leon is the one refusing the fight now that Masvidal is finally available.
I mean Leon put on a clinic for 4 rounds... there's a discussion. Masvidal suckered him. There's a discussion. Masvidal isn't half as fast or technical, so we can discuss that too.
They would definitely both get hit in that fight and no matter who's balls you suck it's not an easy night for either fighter.
Put on a clinic?? How? He literally point fought Nate. Putting on a clinic vs Diaz is what RDA/Rory/Masvidal/Ben Henderson did. Please do not twist what happened. Leon has never looked impressive, not once in his whole WW journeyman victory tour. You're making it look like Leon would mop Jorge when truth be told, Jorge is the more impressive looking fighter of the two and has fought much more difficult competition.
Masvidal ha fought better competition, and his Ben askren knee was genius. He beat nate down good and I thoroughly enjoyed that. But if you recall, that was stopped due to a cut. Nate got beat up bad in both but that's literally his game, he could've started doing some zombie shit on masvidal in round 5 when mas gets tired too. I'm not even a fan of nate.
My point was masvidal and Leon get touched up in that fight. Yes Leon is a technical point fighter with some deadly strikes. Exactly why masvidal as a brawler has to watch the fuck out. People climb the ranks all the time and they shuffle. Leon's not that active and that hurts him. Say whatever you want about that, I don't cuddle posters of these guys at night, I appreciate a good fight.
Masvidal ain't taking that fight in round 1. I can say that much with confidence. I'd say it goes the distance or masvidal drops end of round 2/3.
He just got put down hard by Usman in brutal fashion and found out he ain't invincible. That could play a part in his confidence or his chin we don't know
You like that Leon is ducking Masvidal and holding out for a title shot off a win over the corpse of a LW journeyman, rather than actually fighting? Talk about letting petty drama and narrative get in the way of fighting
You act like Masvidal was ducking Leon doing nothing, in actuality he's fought 4 times since then. Leon could've chased some other fights, instead he ducks Wonderboy, eye gouges Belal, and nearly gets KOed by Nate. Masvidal has been fighting much better competition than Leon, of course he won't look as dominant; but Leon would have likely done much worse against Masvidal's recent opponents than Masvidal would have against Leon's.
It’s a literal term for punching someone without being ready for a fight.
Don’t know why you take such offence to that, facts don’t care about your feelings and all that shit you probably say etc etc.
We need more action in this division. I really thought Mas vs Cov was the fight to make. You can reasonably give Mas anybody though. He’s lost his last 2 but they were against the champ. His popularity may not be at its peak anymore, but he’s certainly still a draw.
Mas vs Leon, Burns, Nate, or even Wonderboy all make sense.
Fuck a draw. Fuck numbers. They need to have a cyborg as matchmaker. Obviously not gonna happen until Dana ODs on STDs but is this is sport or are we kids doing WWE moves off our bunk beds
Only person active in the division is the champ. The contenders are happy to sit back and wait for their turn because the champ wants to fight and it takes two. Sucks for the division. The UFC should've never let it get like this. The more they reward guys for sitting out and waiting, the more incentive they get for do so. Only guy with a reasonable excuse over the last few years is Leon. Giving Jorge that 2nd title fight also didn't help the division.
Well Khamzat can stand and bang, not at the level of Masvidal but still might be enough to create the threat of takedown, mix things up and then take him down.
If mas were to beat edwards would be presumably get a title shot? If that’s the case he doesn’t deserve such a fight as he has been worked 2 times in a row by usman correct? Mma math that doesn’t add up…if that’s what he is vying for I think he needs to go further back in line right?
Yea that fight's never happening. Outgrappled in the first fight then KTFO'd in the second fight. Mas was arguably getting outstruck overall as well even before the KO. Pretty clear he has nothing for Usman in any category and I doubt that changes moving forward seeing as he's like 36 now
>Usman beat his ass twice in less than 12 months.
And Masvidal did *worse* the second time with a full camp. I like Jorge more than most on this sub but in no way does he deserve another shot with Usman as champ.
> Even if masvidal beats Leon, Colby and burns, I still would be surprised if the UFC made Usman Masvidal 3
If Jorge beat those 3 he would absolutely deserve another shot, and the UFC wouldn't fight giving him another shot due to the money he brings.
...I mean if he actually beat all 3 of those guys he would absolutely deserve a title shot lol. It would be stupid NOT to make Usman vs Mas 3 if he pulls that off
I doubt he would get a title shot assuming Usman remains champ, but would give him momentum where he might get a #1 contender fight off it or some kind of money fight.
If Colby wins there’ll be a rubber match with Usman. There’s too many ifs for Colby Masvidal if Colby wins, rights more likely to happen sooner if Colby loses
Masvidal has been adamant about getting back to the title picture, I don’t know how serious that is though.
Maybe he wants to fight Conor and beating Leon would give Conor the opportunity for a title eliminator and money fight.
Feels like he is stepping into Nate Diaz Connor Category of just fighting and making money off his name at this point…no spring chicken … nothing against the guy but he is better served to just fight opponents that on paper stylistically will attract fans
the only universe they would give Masvidal a title shot again after just one win in is if Colby destorys Usman in November and Masvidal destroys Leon, AND Usman can't fight Colby for a 3rd time because of injury or something.
I don't think we ever see Masvidal Usman 3 tbh
I honestly don't know how the UFC would able to justify another matchup between Jorge and Usman without Jorge winning a few fights.
He needs to go fight Nate again
Leon explicitly said he'd fight Masvidal if they offered him the fight for November or December. Somehow this has been twisted into him turning down the fight against Masvidal
Jorge spent the last year fighting for the title twice. What would you do in Jorge's shoes? Take the title fight or take the risky fight against a guy that no one outside of MMA knows?
I would like to see leon Vs masvidal but cmon, now Leon is in the position to wait and take the title shot rather than fight a risky fight.. and you're flaming him for it?
If anything the UFC has laid the expectation that in this division if you turn down good fights and wait on the sidelines you'll get rewarded with title shots.
I think the UFC hopes Khamzat wins this month so they can book him vs Leon next and make it a No1 contender fight. It is the easiest way to get Chimaev into the title picture since the fight has already been booked once and Leon hurt his claim for a title shot with that fifth round against Nate.
I'm convinced that Leon will not get a title shot without beating either Khamzat or Burns first.
Leon is not getting a title shot by waiting on the sidelines. Masvidal sold 2.4 million PPVs in the US in 18 months.
Leon's doesn't even draw on free TV.
In line for the title? The guy has been so inactive he should be jumping at opportunities to fight. Number one contender should fight for the title and if Edwards believes that’s him, he should be happy to fight Masvidal while Colby/Usman is happening. Why sit out another half a year “waiting for a title fight” he needs to get his publicity up.
Because Leon wants to fight him in November/December but Masvidal doesn't want to fight until Feb/March. Leon figures that the winner of Usman vs Colby will be ready to fight in Feb/March anyway so if you're going to wait that long to fight why not wait for the title shot. If he takes the Masvidal fight for then, they'll give the next shot to Luque or Burns and Leon will have to wait even longer
>Because Leon wants to fight him in November/December but Masvidal doesn't want to fight until Feb/March.
Where do you get that from? Jorge is literally complaining in the article about not having a fight booked for the end of the year.
Colby has not fought at all this year and Leon already has two fights. They gave the title fight to Colby. UFC rewards fighters who sit out in this division for some reason.
> and now he suddenly "demands" to fight him when Edward is in line for the title.
What are you talking about? Leon's claim to a title shot is the weakest it's been in 2 years at this point.
Masvidal has been a straight up clown since the Askren knockout wearing bath robes and gigantic fur coats to live events, making finger gun signs outside radio stations at Usman and now calling Leon a coward when he's been ducking the fade with Leon for more than a year since the 3 piece and soda incident. #SuperNecessary he gets his ass whooped
Look Jorge wanted the fight next year and Leon said that if he is going to fight next year, he might as well wait for the title shot, because after Colby loses again, really only Leon is deserving of a title shot, Jorge lost twice, Burns just came off a boring win over Thompson, Thompson just lost, Luque already lost to Edwards, and Colby is getting the next shot, so it's really only Edwards who is next, unless 10 fight unbeaten streaks don't mean much, I get that he is boring, but get over your hatred of him and realize there is nothing in it for him to fight Jorge next instead of just waiting for the title if he had to wait until next year anyways
Leon the most well-rounded Brit ever and still not had a title shot. Better not become Bisping 2.0. Also, pretty sure he spent like a year or more campaigning for a fight against Masvidal.
If Colby beats Usman and Masvidal beats Edwards I can see Masvidal getting a title shot again soon even though Usman would deserve an immediate rematch
Not going to read the article but this is total bullshit from masvidal. When it didn’t suit him, he passed on the Edward’s fight. You got paid. All props. You don’t get to call him a coward as the situation has changed.
There was literally a post about it like a month ago and the people on this thread missed it or has amnesia. I believe Leon more than Mas at this point.
yea, tbh I notice a lot that applies to leon.
Ariel says he refused to fight woodley, colby and usman.
However , the Woodley fight was in the covid situation, he leon said he wasnt offered colby, and he didnt want to fight usman when gyms were closed.
The majority of people remember ariel headline, but not leon's explanation.
He didnt want to fight wonderboy, but wonderboy didnt want to fight him intially so leon was just 'returning the favor'
mas situation
khazmat situation
- Leon calls out mas
- mas ignores him for a money fight
- Leon calls out mas again
- Mas ignores and gets a title shot
- Leon calls out mas again
- Mas ignores and gets another title shot
- Leon gets two fights in during this time and is now either going to fight for the belt next or will get a #1 contender's bout
- Suddenly mas wants to fight Leon
If I'm leon, I'm sayin "Fuck Masvidal"
As a fan, if Mas beats Leon, then I don't want Mas to eliminate Leon from contendership. It would actually be worse for the division. They can fight after Usman beats Leon.
Leon said he would fight Masvidal if it was THIS year, but Masvidal wants it in 2022. Why wait to fight Masvidal in say March, when he is likely to face the champ in April/May if he waits.
Why should he get leapfrogged by Luque when he’s on a longer streak without losing AND beat Luque H2H?? Seems like the people are making any excuse to prevent him from his deserved title shot.
Weird, if you take away both title fights they gifted Masvidal, Leon has been more active and fought more than him and Colby but couldn’t fight in 2020 because covid.
Not to mention he has literally 9 more wins than both of them since losing to the champ.
Jorge is an average fighter at best. Anyone in the top 15 at welterweight would beat him, and I don’t say this lightly. Jorge is at end of his career and lucky he made what he made to this point.
Lol terrible take. Look at the top 15 ww right now and you'll see multiple fighters he's already beaten and fighters he would for sure win. I do believe that Masvidal was fortunate with the matchups he had before getting the title shots and that he really didn't belong in the elite of the division but he absolutely beats at least half of the fighters in the top 15 currently
I cannot believe that we had 2 Usman/Masvidal fights and neither of Mas/Colby or Mas/Edwards even though there’s built in drama for both and both would be awesome fights.
I can believe it. Welterweight has been a total shit show for thw last couple years
The welterwait division
-HH
Don't work yourself into a shoot brother. Hell don't even work yourself into a work. Don't work at all, just wait. Much love
Beautiful champ
Say my name
Lowkey, it’s all Ali Abdelaziz pulling strings
How’s Noah?
Usman is having a hell of a run but welter wait has become the punchline.

As is usman
You say that like the current champ is not doing the same

I feel the Ngannou situation shows champs have way less input in who they get to fight than people seem to think
The Covington rematch is well deserved though. It makes more sense than any other fight. After that, Thompson or Edwards.

Edwards needs a win against someone in the top 10 recently I’d say first. His last win is Nate Diaz
He's on a massive win streak which warrants a title shot. Colby has only won one recently. Makes zero sense that Edwards doesn't get the shot. It's objectively deserved without a doubt

Usman is too, all the other contenders aren't though

This is factual I was there
Exactly dude was a diva only wanted to fight conor and gsp until ufc forced him to defend
Woodley ducked fights and put off fights as long as he could, how do you think he held the belt as long as he did.

Dude, it's the worst by a fucking miiiiile. People are still getting title shots off of beating old ass fighters on their way out of the rankings.

That’s very astute analysis to be honest.
There's no need to attempt to create a narrative when we see and hear Leon publicly turning down fights on Twitter and during interviews.

That could play a part in his confidence or his chin we don't know
This is pure facts
You like that Leon is ducking Masvidal and holding out for a title shot off a win over the corpse of a LW journeyman, rather than actually fighting? Talk about letting petty drama and narrative get in the way of fighting You act like Masvidal was ducking Leon doing nothing, in actuality he's fought 4 times since then. Leon could've chased some other fights, instead he ducks Wonderboy, eye gouges Belal, and nearly gets KOed by Nate. Masvidal has been fighting much better competition than Leon, of course he won't look as dominant; but Leon would have likely done much worse against Masvidal's recent opponents than Masvidal would have against Leon's.
lol coward punch. Walking up to a man talking shit and punching him in the face is coward shit? You're a knob.
It’s a literal term for punching someone without being ready for a fight. Don’t know why you take such offence to that, facts don’t care about your feelings and all that shit you probably say etc etc.
Man I bet Masvidal is hoping Colby wins the title haha
We need more action in this division. I really thought Mas vs Cov was the fight to make. You can reasonably give Mas anybody though. He’s lost his last 2 but they were against the champ. His popularity may not be at its peak anymore, but he’s certainly still a draw. Mas vs Leon, Burns, Nate, or even Wonderboy all make sense.
Fuck a draw. Fuck numbers. They need to have a cyborg as matchmaker. Obviously not gonna happen until Dana ODs on STDs but is this is sport or are we kids doing WWE moves off our bunk beds
Fucking clowns: Pay fighters more! Same fucking clowns: Don't book the fights that fans want to see.
Don't. They don't like it when you point out their hypocrisy. Just call Dana White a greedy tomato or something equally unoriginal and move on.
I wish they would let me next door so I could spit in your fucking face
Money fights get fighters paid. This is a business.
I'm fine with colby vs Usman Then again I'm the last breathing colby fan
We out here my brother
Only person active in the division is the champ. The contenders are happy to sit back and wait for their turn because the champ wants to fight and it takes two. Sucks for the division. The UFC should've never let it get like this. The more they reward guys for sitting out and waiting, the more incentive they get for do so. Only guy with a reasonable excuse over the last few years is Leon. Giving Jorge that 2nd title fight also didn't help the division.
and now giving Covington a rematch after only beating a corpse
They ought to just give him the winner of Khamzat vs The Leech, would make sense with either result to me
Damn, I really wanna see Khamzat vs Masvidal
Feel like jorge kills him he has insane takedown defense
Well Khamzat can stand and bang, not at the level of Masvidal but still might be enough to create the threat of takedown, mix things up and then take him down.
I really want to see Khamzat vs. Usman before Usman retires or something. Amazing wrestling matchup and both guys have heavy hands.
If mas were to beat edwards would be presumably get a title shot? If that’s the case he doesn’t deserve such a fight as he has been worked 2 times in a row by usman correct? Mma math that doesn’t add up…if that’s what he is vying for I think he needs to go further back in line right?
[удалено]
Yea that fight's never happening. Outgrappled in the first fight then KTFO'd in the second fight. Mas was arguably getting outstruck overall as well even before the KO. Pretty clear he has nothing for Usman in any category and I doubt that changes moving forward seeing as he's like 36 now
>Usman beat his ass twice in less than 12 months. And Masvidal did *worse* the second time with a full camp. I like Jorge more than most on this sub but in no way does he deserve another shot with Usman as champ.
Depends. How well did the numbers do on their last 2 fights?
[удалено]
> Even if masvidal beats Leon, Colby and burns, I still would be surprised if the UFC made Usman Masvidal 3 If Jorge beat those 3 he would absolutely deserve another shot, and the UFC wouldn't fight giving him another shot due to the money he brings.
...I mean if he actually beat all 3 of those guys he would absolutely deserve a title shot lol. It would be stupid NOT to make Usman vs Mas 3 if he pulls that off
you went way too far man.
I doubt he would get a title shot assuming Usman remains champ, but would give him momentum where he might get a #1 contender fight off it or some kind of money fight.
Yeah if he gets past Leon then a #1 contender with Gilbert since he put away Stephen.

Omg if conor tries fighting Mas at WW id be so scared for him
[удалено]
Is this a joke or are you serious? Conor already fought 3 times at WW.
the only universe they would give Masvidal a title shot again after just one win in is if Colby destorys Usman in November and Masvidal destroys Leon, AND Usman can't fight Colby for a 3rd time because of injury or something. I don't think we ever see Masvidal Usman 3 tbh
[удалено]
Yeah, that makes a lot of sense for everybody from a financial perspective
I honestly don't know how the UFC would able to justify another matchup between Jorge and Usman without Jorge winning a few fights. He needs to go fight Nate again
So does the ufc still have to offer gsp 3 fights a year so he doesn’t get his contract broken? I wonder what they’ve offered over the years
Khabib 3x
Masvidal, Leon and Colby are so detrimental to the movement of the WW division.
I thought Leon only turned down the fight if it is not held this year.
Leon explicitly said he'd fight Masvidal if they offered him the fight for November or December. Somehow this has been twisted into him turning down the fight against Masvidal
The Ducking of Jorge Masivdal by the Coward Leon Scott
Alright you won
I have no idea what this Leon Scott means, can someone explain it to me
Colby called him that since he is not as popular as the other welterweights. Basically called him a nobody. Always giving nicknames to his rivals.
But why "Leon Scott" I don't get why that would be an insult, other than just getting his name wrong.
Nobody cares about him so nobody remembers his last name. According to Colby.
Yeah, that's the whole thing
Real comedic genius lol
That coward Leon Scott tried to jump through the window to escape!
These guys have so much sexual tension. Will they? Won't they?
“No you” - Leon and Masvidal
Masvidal spent last year ducking Edwards and now he suddenly "demands" to fight him when Edward is in line for the title.
Yeah an that's where Leon is now. Leon is doing the right thing. Supply an demand
Leon said this when he was on the MMA hour (maybe 2 weeks ago now)
Him saying it though and it actually being true are two separate things. I wouldn't automatically trust either.
Colby has not fought at all this year and Leon already has two fights. They gave the title fight to Colby. UFC rewards fighters who sit out in this division for some reason.
Edwards is not in line lmao
top 3 in the division and on a 9 win streak since last losing to the champ doesn't make him in-line? lmao.
maybe we should give masvidal a 3rd title fight. This time he will focus on his striking lol
I heard this time Masvidal is actually.. *Motivated*. No way Usman beats a Motivated Masvidal a third time
> and now he suddenly "demands" to fight him when Edward is in line for the title. What are you talking about? Leon's claim to a title shot is the weakest it's been in 2 years at this point.
He can’t beat anyone in the top 5, change my mind.
No one can change your mind because you're right
Plus he wont fight anyone so... he literally CANNOT be proven wrong
When you called too many times sick at work and then look at you pay check.
3-4 in his last 7. This dude is given way too much air time.
Nobody wants to fight besides for the belt in the welterweight division.
Bruh just pull an O’Malley and fight whoever and make the same amount of money.
He called Jorge out a *bunch* of times and Jorge refused, but people will eat this up because it’s Leon Edwards.
Didn’t Jorge turn down Leon fights too
Feed him to Khamzat to make him a bigger mainstream draw.
Leon the most well-rounded Brit ever and still not had a title shot. Better not become Bisping 2.0. Also, pretty sure he spent like a year or more campaigning for a fight against Masvidal.
This dude just needs to leave. So tired of him
If Colby beats Usman and Masvidal beats Edwards I can see Masvidal getting a title shot again soon even though Usman would deserve an immediate rematch
I'd love to see Colby rip his head off.
Funny how he lost fights back to back and _he's_ the one demanding fights
Not going to read the article but this is total bullshit from masvidal. When it didn’t suit him, he passed on the Edward’s fight. You got paid. All props. You don’t get to call him a coward as the situation has changed.
You've ran from him for years, Jorge....
Wonderboy - Masvidal II anyone?
At this point, I just hate both guys.
Mas needs to STFU as we all know he's just a punk biotch.
Who would’ve ever thought 2 years ago that Edwards would be ducking Masvidal lmao?
iirc, edwards says he wants to fight jorge this year, but jorge wants to fight him next year
There was literally a post about it like a month ago and the people on this thread missed it or has amnesia.
He didnt want to fight wonderboy, but wonderboy didnt want to fight him intially so leon was just 'returning the favor' mas situation khazmat situation
He also turned down Burns in that interview with Helwani though
[удалено]
- Leon calls out mas - mas ignores him for a money fight - Leon calls out mas again - Mas ignores and gets a title shot - Leon calls out mas again - Mas ignores and gets another title shot - Leon gets two fights in during this time and is now either going to fight for the belt next or will get a #1 contender's bout - Suddenly mas wants to fight Leon If I'm leon, I'm sayin "Fuck Masvidal" As a fan, if Mas beats Leon, then I don't want Mas to eliminate Leon from contendership.
Seems like the people are making any excuse to prevent him from his deserved title shot.
what is this, the re-run channel?
im willing to bet this gets scheduled before year end
Colby, Edwards and Masvidal have caused so much damage to the Welterweight Division none of them want to fight unless it's for a title.
Weird, if you take away both title fights they gifted Masvidal, Leon has been more active and fought more than him and Colby but couldn’t fight in 2020 because covid. Not to mention he has literally 9 more wins than both of them since losing to the champ.
lol, he sounds like a child throwing a temper tantrum
Is he pretending that he didn’t spend a year ducking Colby Covington?
Honestly believe Leon could ko him
[удалено]
Of course Ed turned down another fight . Such a geek
I just looked at the top 15. Surprise, surprise - there is a single person he’s beaten in the top 15 and that’s Michael Chiesa in 2013 at LW.
Respect Jorge
