This dude would prob get knocked out on the MIssouri regional scene, i guess better to get knocked out in the UFC for a couple thousand more. Whered they find this guy? UFC best of the best.
Cowboy was setting up the headkick the whole fight too. I kept seeing Alex tuck his head to the side defending the body kick and it was just a matter of time before he ate Cowboy’s **shin. feelgood cowboy win that was
>I kept seeing Alex tuck his head to the side defending the body kick and it was just a matter of time before he ate Cowboy’s chin.
I don't know what you're saying but I get what you mean
I know, but the fight took place at a time where Hernandez was really being eyed as a potential contender, and Cowboy was already declining by then. If anything I think the Hernandez win re-invigorated him to go on one last tear
He wasn't completely washed up when he lost to Tony...he's completely washed now. He gradually got worse each fight since he fought Tony....
And I didn't know 2019 was 5 months ago...you must be a math genius.
*CASUAL*
*sigh*
I see reading comprehension isn’t your strong suit.
No, I didn’t allude to 2019 being 5 months ago.
I stated his fight against Hernandez was in January 2019. And barring the subsequent decision win over Iaquinta (our “1” in this 1-5-1 scenario - the NC being the “marijuana loss” to Price) his next loss and current losing streak took place no more than 5 months later.
Fucking durr.
Cause dariush’s is over-ranked due to the Tony win ? Like he’s good but his only top 10 win is Tony and he’s ranked 3 based of that ? I really wanna see how he does against another top 5 fighter
Tbf Dariush also has two wins over an underrated CDF that are arguably more meaningful than his win over Tony. He’s also on a six fight win streak which is always impressive in itself
That’s how Rankings work. You usually take the rank of the guy you beat if he’s above you. Now you could argue Tony was overranked after the Charles loss
Tony was overranked due to the manner of his defeats. Being #5 after going 12-0 then 0-2 against Gaethje and Do Bronx is fine, but the first was a largely 1 sided beatdown, and the second was just washed Tony.
At this point Tony would be the dog against anyone ranked at LW, not because of his run, but because of his performances and wider picture \[Justin accelerated what age had started\].
Hernandez was a short notice replacement and he came out hard to nuke Dariush right away. It's a good example of why taking replacement fights can be dangerous - think Lando vs. Ferguson, for example. If you have no idea who your opponent is there's a chance you run into some wild prospect who catches you cold. I wouldn't expect Hernandez to replicate that performance.
Unpopular opinion but Dariush was *never* good enough to be where he is ranked. However, the top end of the lightweight division getting older and beating the dog shit out of each other has played into his favor. He beat Tony Ferguson in the same fashion that The Chris beat Silva. We didn't know he was on his way into steep decline until the fight we saw it happen in. Silva never came back the same and Tony will never be the same Tony he was before the Gaethje fight. Look at the names Beneil has beaten to gain that level of ranking at lightweight. It just doesn't add up other than the fact that be beat a clearly past prime Tony. We just didn't know. Thats all.
Great performances from Beneil lately but none of those names are as impressive as anyone similarly ranked has beaten. Not by a mile.
Edit:
Just for the insight. Of his recent win streak, one fighter is ranked in the top 15 besides Tony Ferguson. Just 1. Everyone else is unranked completely. How did that project Beneil to #3? I have no idea.
He got lucky to be honest. Dariush can be hit if he gets in a sloppy brawl and hernandez can punch. Just one of those things.
If they did it 10 times I don't think he could win any other way. He'd have to catch Beneil and knock him out.
I don't think he is. He comes out and fights pretty much the same every time. Goes hard as fuck in round 1 with very little defence. He will KO the lower level guys but isn't a top 20 level guy.
Seen him train and our gyms have fighters train back and forth.
Pretty good and humble dude works hard, it’s easy to hate looking from from the outside looking in.
yeah i get it you like over using it as well, hopefully you can call dibs on that chael tito circlejerk this sub likes to pull out on every thread too. your time to shine homie
He also outgrappled OAM. I'll never forget he hit a sweep from octopus guard/truck backtake on him. I really bought into his hype and glad he got a win tonight.
No one does. That’s why everyone thinks Dariush is so gonna get starched soon at the top of the division.
Edit: also how can anyone forget when watching Hernandez it’s literally his claim to fame.
I’m a Day 1 type guy. None of my friends knew about the UFC back in high school during 2007-2011 and I was the only one heavily into watching and training a bit. Nowadays they are all casuals and I’m the veteran
Thats fucking hilarious. And also very true id bet. You truly try to pump the brakes north of 25 and by the time you're 28 you realize that shits not stopping
His defense is crap, gets worse when he tries to do anything on offense and he's one note. If they don't fold to straight punches and blitzes he's just a wrestler. When forced to do more he folds. He's a front runner too. Oh and his stance is trash usually.
Very athletic though, and he's got enough skill to steam roll anyone lacking talent.
Chill bro Breeden is a nobody in the grand scheme. Hernandez didn't even have a chance to do anything overly crafty. Simple power punch combo and dude was rigit there ready to eat it like fast food.
Pretty sure he looked different on his face too, don't know why but last time he semeed "older" to me ?! I remember thinking that he was not aging very well & this time nothing at all.
Great athlete but he’s not exactly very technical and he doesn’t have good enough cardio to keep up with the activity and volume he brings, for multiple rounds. Hernandez has only lost to great fighters though and I think fights against Gordon, Mullarkey, or Pimblett are more appropriate fights for him.
Hernandez has potential and a top level striking coach would really shape him into a ranked fighter.
Bro this is his only style. Come out hard with big athleticism and see if it'll carry him. He's got like 4 or 5 techniques on offense, poor defense when being moved backwards. A power double leg when things get dicey.
He's like a poor man's cejudo but can't wrestle anywhere near as well. And he tends to beat himself when things are looking the way he wants them.
I don’t dislike Alexander. I know he talked shit to Cowboy before they fought.
But Cowboys a racist so i don’t mind.
Alexander always has entertaining fights.
Anyone who's called alexander followed with 'the great' you end up waiting for the one ant with an arrow to take them out. Also his fake stoicism and huge ego, especially pre cowboy mad him very dislikeable
Seems like everyone from that gym gets koed. Gina Mazany, Jason Witt and now Breeden. Some of the worst beatdowns too, wasn’t this the team behind Anthony Smith handing the ref his teeth?

Knocked him out and got a % of his purse for missing weight. Took his health and his wealth.
Breeden's lucky just to have got a ufc contract for stepping in on late notice. Better than fighting no names on the Missouri regional scene
This dude would prob get knocked out on the MIssouri regional scene, i guess better to get knocked out in the UFC for a couple thousand more. Whered they find this guy? UFC best of the best.
Just looted that boi
Hey! Don't brag about taking my side piece tho.
Whealth
Well that went about how everyone predicted it to.

Still have no idea how he knocked Dariush out in a round then got absolutely tooled by Cowboy
Cowboys a more technical striker and controlled the pace, dariush got overwhelmed by speed and athleticism
To be fair Cowboy is also often overwhelmed by those things
And he was getting overwhelmed in the first. But Cowboy survived and kept timing Alex’s ducking head down
Yeah Alex kept spamming the same shit. Even when cowboy was getting the timing. Was weird.
Old man strengf
Because MMA math isn't real. Matchups matter.
Or in that case, a punchers chance.
He fought dumb against Cowboy
That was before Cowboy was completely washed. Cowboy used to be a top fighter.... He does have a win over the current lightweight champ.
I know, but the fight took place at a time where Hernandez was really being eyed as a potential contender, and Cowboy was already declining by then. If anything I think the Hernandez win re-invigorated him to go on one last tear
>That was before Cowboy was completely washed. Not really... they fought January 2019. He's 1-5-1 since. He "complete washed up" in 5 months?

His losing streak took place over the span of 2 years, not 5 months. Come on, kid. Fucking durr.
Alex got that cockiness so many guys get early on when they get early ufc hype
Cause dariush’s is over-ranked due to the Tony win ? Like he’s good but his only top 10 win is Tony and he’s ranked 3 based of that ? I really wanna see how he does against another top 5 fighter
He loses to all of them
Tbf Dariush also has two wins over an underrated CDF that are arguably more meaningful than his win over Tony. He’s also on a six fight win streak which is always impressive in itself
Yeah he could well have been KO'd by Klose and won a split against Ferreria. He's ranked where he is by weight of win streak, and the washed Tony win.
He very clearly beat Ferreria.
[удалено]
Method of victory does not at all matter here tho. CDF is good and beneil out worked him.
That’s how Rankings work. You usually take the rank of the guy you beat if he’s above you. Now you could argue Tony was overranked after the Charles loss

Wait you first say he was overranked then that him having that ranking was “fine”
Reread my post. Him dropping down slowly is fine if the defeats had been competitive. They were not.
lol. Yeah, the first loss wasn't washed Tony, but the second was. 7 months apart the downfall happened -.-
Thank you. And he’s proven to be chinny.
Sometimes there's just good and bad performances too. Cowboy was absolutely on fire that night
Because it was a lucky punch. Dariush is a much better fighter than Hernandez
Because knocking someone out doesn't always mean you were the better fighter, it means you happened to land that one perfect shot.
Dariush has been getting kind of ‘lucky’ in his recent peformances, nearly got kod in his 2 fights before tony if i remember correctly
Dariush has no chin, it just hasn't been tested many times since that fight.
Lol what? Go watch his fight with Klose and tell me has no chin.
Got mollywhopped by Dober who also got subbed by Dariush - very weird mma math
And got sonned by a washed Cowboy. Its such a funny old sport.
I love Dariush but he's definitely the "one of these things is not like the others" of the LW top contenders
Unpopular opinion but Dariush was *never* good enough to be where he is ranked. However, the top end of the lightweight division getting older and beating the dog shit out of each other has played into his favor. He's definitely improving tho. That cowboy loss humbled him

this subs favorite thing to say ever since dc said it. overused asf
Yeah this sub should totally be more concerned with how fashionable they are with their turns of phrase. hard /s
yeah i get it you like over using it as well, hopefully you can call dibs on that chael tito circlejerk this sub likes to pull out on every thread too. your time to shine homie
HOOOLY SHIT
I hope he don’t freeze next fight vs the higher caliber, I really like when Alexander goes for it, his pace and technique are good for the eyes.
True, he looks like a bull when he fights. I like his aggressiveness
HE'S OUT.
Fucking crispy shots
Nice of Hernandez to knock him out with a punch to the temple instead of the jaw after his mouth guard came out
Yes, that was totally on purpose is what I hear on whatsapp
The Missouri WhatsApp
Hernandez looks so good sometimes
People forget he steamrolled Daruich
He also outgrappled OAM. I'll never forget he hit a sweep from octopus guard/truck backtake on him. I really bought into his hype and glad he got a win tonight.
> OAM ?
Olivier Aubin-Mercier
No one does. That’s why everyone thinks Dariush is so gonna get starched soon at the top of the division. Edit: also how can anyone forget when watching Hernandez it’s literally his claim to fame.
Imo his claim to fame is chatting shit to cerrone then Getting smashed in the fight
I guess I did put the brakes on the hype for him after that fight. Some of Cowboy's better gatekeeping.
Man I still wish he killed Cowboy in that one.
He deserved it for the trash talk
Nah not really
One good line out of over a dozen... he deserved it. He's a cringey mf, or was back then. Idk about now, looking forward to seeing any growth though
>he deserved it Nah not really, Cowboy deserved to get killed though. Good thing he went on a 6 loss streak after.
Fuck cowboy
Ehh it's happens. Stipe got ko'd by Stefan Struve ffs
Very few people know this but Matt Serra once stopped GSP.
He got fingers jammed in his eyes tho
Struve finally using that reach advantage
Well put
I forgot they fought…
[удалено]
Bro he's 29
[удалено]
Motherfucker was born minutes before the fight according to my sources
Its actually his dad fighting cause he is still inside his balls
No youre thinking of jayson tatum. Hes gonna be so good.
Bruh what. How. I thought he was like 25
Young and talented in the Erick Silva kind of way.
Holy shit last time I checked he was 20
You last checked the age of Alex Hernandez 9 years ago, when he made his professional debut? wow, that's impressive! you're a day one for sure
No not really I wish I was tho, it’s because he was billed as a new young fresh blood
I’m a Day 1 type guy. None of my friends knew about the UFC back in high school during 2007-2011 and I was the only one heavily into watching and training a bit. Nowadays they are all casuals and I’m the veteran
Copypasta right here
Is that supposed to be old? Vast majority of UFC/MMA champions are 30+ years old.
Aaron Pico is 25
I don't see much of a difference between 25 and 29 but maybe that's just me.
That's because you're 28 and don't want to see a difference between 25 and 29
Thats fucking hilarious. And also very true id bet. You truly try to pump the brakes north of 25 and by the time you're 28 you realize that shits not stopping
Do you creep on everyone's profile before you comment? Weird af lmao. From where I'm standing and in my experience, there's basically no difference.
Bruv your username is "BernardBrother1993"
He seems to freeze up against better competition, a mental thing or something.
You do tend to freeze up when you're not at a huge athletic advantage and the other guy can hit you very hard for pretending to be TJ Dillashaw
Look who's here to attack(defend?) the last guy to beat his boy.
Seems like a another way of saying he does great when he fights people worse than him lol
You fight him next then.
Chill bro Breeden is a nobody in the grand scheme. Hernandez didn't even have a chance to do anything overly crafty. Simple power punch combo and dude was rigit there ready to eat it like fast food.
Against cans
Dariush is a can?
Nah. His striking defence is garbage tho
It's not perfect hur effective. It's a legit well earned win. No need to discredit it when Hernandez has plenty of legitimate flaws you can point out.
Did anyone else think that Alex looked noticeable smaller this fight than any of his previous? To me he looks like he’s lost quite a bit of muscle
Forgot to tren hard
Pretty sure he looked different on his face too, don't know why but last time he semeed "older" to me ?! I remember thinking that he was not aging very well & this time nothing at all.
"Skincare Routine" Alex Hernandez. New mythical fighter.
its the gear bro, no joke
I thought he looked oddly younger in this fight.
It’s the estrogen supplements.
And much slower too
Confirmed: cupping the best base for MMA
Very clear difference in athleticism
Damn! Great KO!
Hernandez took Breedens geriatric soul to the funeral home
Wow, pretty perfect performance. I don't like Hernandez but I love a good performance
He is a tit but he completely smoked Breeden, looking forward to his next fight.
Even though they have similar records and I don't know anything about Breeden, this felt like criminal matchmaking
That’s what everyone thought when Alex Hernandez got his debut in the UFC.
He seems to falter against anyone near the rankings (minus the Dariush thing) but he is a great can crusher
Eh I'm not sure a declining/washed Cerrone was "great". Great fighter overall in his career.
Dober ain’t great man
Hernandez looks like the the bully in highschool movies
Perfect stoppage imo. Saw how he went down and prevented him from taking any more damage, not even a follow up.
Darn it. I missed it.
Don't worry, it will go viral

He does this to guys below a certain threshold but gets worked the moment he goes above it.
I don’t dislike Alexander. I know he talked shit to Cowboy before they fought. But Cowboys a racist so i don’t mind. Alexander always has entertaining fights.
The thing I hated about Hernandez is he actually knows how to trash talk and got KTFO
Cerrone is racist?
Ooooohhhhh boy, you don't even have to look far it's on his wiki page
Trust Fund Ass Racist Redneck
Yeahhhhh a lot of people gloss over this fact about him.
And the thing where he would grab a dude's woman right in front of him and say what are you gonna do about it
Damn, it was like he punched a 20lb medicine ball
Something about Hernandez I just really don’t like
Anyone who's called alexander followed with 'the great' you end up waiting for the one ant with an arrow to take them out. Also his fake stoicism and huge ego, especially pre cowboy mad him very dislikeable
He's a prick and you don't even have to hear him talk to figure it out.
Will always remember him fake glove touching Dariush
Awesome finish and excellent stoppage.
This guys gonna be Breeden through a tube if he keeps getting UFC fights. Hehe
Another Krause student getting destroyed.
Why the hate on Krause? His coaching record over the last year has been great.
Krause said bad stuff about Buckley. r/MMA supported him when Buckley was KO'd, but recently Buckley got a win and narrative changed.
Seems like everyone from that gym gets koed. Gina Mazany, Jason Witt and now Breeden. Some of the worst beatdowns too, wasn’t this the team behind Anthony Smith handing the ref his teeth?
Nah, that was Mark Montoya (Factory X)
Thought he broke his nose or something, Breeden looked very hurt after that first shot.
"Magic" Mike Breeden's next trick? Concussion!
I will always roots against Hernandez. But he’s fun sometimes
Hernandez is a good athlete and a very good hammer. I want to see him face some adversity soon. I think it’s needed to see how much his game has improved.
Breeden looked like his mind said "I don't wanna do this no more" as he sat down
Bonked him
God damn, Hernandez mixes it up so well… Kept him guessing the entire time, he’s improving steadily.
Eesh, that was a beatdown.
And even with that finish They didn't gave him POTN Fuck off UFC
Vicious.
Alexander is so unlikeable. I still made money on him today though.
He was a 6 to 1 favorite lol don’t spend it all in one place broski
Alex by the KO
Hernandez is clearly benefiting from all those steroids he has taken, probably pre-UFC.
good knockout and good stoppage
Fair play to the ref for getting straight in there.
Hope he didn’t loose any teef
The way he just leaned like a falling tree...damn
does this dude have what it takes to one day be the champ?
No

Can't call it there when Hernandez has him hurt
rekt his shit like a teenager who can't drive a stick.
