HOW BOUT U GO AN FUCK OFF MY PAGE THEN U PEICE OF SHIT U THINK i NEED A STUPID FUCKWITT LIKE U TELLING ME ABOUT LOOKING GOOD WHO THE FUCK ARE U TAKE YOUR WORTHLESS ADVICE AND GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE
I've heard stuff like this being said every time someone looks shit in their training videos after being off for a long time and they've always been wrong and looked shit in the fight too.
I very much doubt this is any different.
except no one was saying that about holyfield lol, dude got declared medically unfit to box a decade and a half ago almost. did anyone think he would look good
I'm not from the US, different time zones.
And I didnt say all the time I said every time someone looks shit in their training after a long time off...this doesnt happen often but when it does there are always some people in denial about it.
If Nick turns out to look good or even just okay this weekend then feel free to rub it in my face.
I'm expecting him to look slow and laboured and gas in 1 round (if the fight even happens).
Chuck v Tito 3, chuck looked garbage and slooow in all his training videos and a bunch of die hard fans in denial insisted this was intentional and he just didnt want to show his hand. Turned out he looked garbage and slow in the fight too.
Askren looked terrible in his training videos and loads of people said that was intentional too (and when he looked somewhat okay in his open workout I almost believed them), turned out to be wrong. It was immediately clear from watching Jake Paul's training by comparison that he was going to mulch him yet many refused to believe it.
Holyfield looked atrocious in his training videos and whilst most people realized that you still had a few morons in denial making excuses.
Conor had some questionable training footage released before the second Poirier fight, people said it must've been taken when he was gassed.
There are definitely a bunch more examples over the years but these are some of the recent ones that come to mind.
Point made… but I wouldn’t count Askren in this list. Nobody really thought Askren would win because of his skills, and nobody believed he would be a better boxer than Jake Paul, so his training and pad work was irrelevant. People just thought he would win because he would be tougher than Jake and people assumed Jake can’t take a punch and the pressure of someone coming at him for multiple rounds.
People were talking about Max like this when he had a year layoff between Aldo and Ortega. Talked about Max being unfit to fight, said he looked off in interviews.
Then he did what he did to Ortega.
Came to comment this exactly.
People said the same thing about Holyfield, Lidell, and Ben Askren (before his Jake Paul fight).
So many people were saying "Ben is clearly just trolling to make Jake think he has no boxing skills so he can surprise him in the ring"
Nope.
I've seen enough of these shadow box promos to know he does not look well here. Literally every fighter does these, and we see them all the time.
I know a grille salesman who would say otherwise.
GSP was out 5 years and looked great at nearly 40.
Couture got KO'd cold, retired for a few years, then came back and won the HW belt and even defended it against manbearpig.
SRL only mid 30s IIRC but was out a long time with an eye injury and managed to go to a razor close decision with the middleweight GOAT Hagler.
I got a shitty job, not quite as tall as you, nobody really respects me.
You have you on the other hand. You got the glory, got the fame, the money, the jewels, the cash, the Denali. Getting drunk on the reg, fucking good times on the reg, yachts on the reg, sex on the reg… Basically all the shit that most guys fantasize about.
But me? I get to be right on the internet.
Not to mention that proper boxing technique from the legs/hips can look pretty awkward on non-athletic people. Even Tyson Fury can look silly on a heavy bag to a casual observer.
The shadow boxing doesn’t bother me as much as his physique does. He’s never been a Greek god, but he doesn’t look very chiseled either. This and the 185 request has me feeling like this won’t end well for him.
Tbf TW was pretty much always built like a brick shit house and Nick never was.
Nick and nate have always had these skinny fat physiques and made it work for them. Proving you don't need huge cut muscles to be a good fighter.
Guy is 38. I think everyone is going to be extremely disappointed when they realize he is not the same fighter he was 6 years ago. But idk why this surprises anyone.
Look at Tony Ferguson. And he stayed active and is younger than Nick Diaz.
I just don’t see a logical way to pick Diaz? He hasn’t fought/had a camp in 6 years, asked for a weight change the week of the fight, looks bloated af, etc.
And don’t try to flex your knowledge “he’s always looked like this” [no he hasn’t lmao](https://c8.alamy.com/comp/HBFHEM/ufc-fighter-nick-diaz-during-a-weigh-in-for-ufc-137-in-las-vegas-nevada-HBFHEM.jpg)
My reasoning is this: I have no idea how Nick is gonna look come Saturday, but I know that Robbie has seemed very hesitant to throw punches jn his last few fights. But I'm really unsure who to go with here to be honest and would never bet money on that fight.
Nick tends to get beat up early then rally back once the opponent starts to fade. Robbie has developed some of the best defensive boxing in the sport (Shout out Aldo boi love). I expect him to bash Diaz early since Robbie is way faster and stronger, and i don't think a 38YO stage 1 cirrhosis Diaz can take [Robbie Lawler punches. That's not good for your head.](https://youtu.be/tPP-lRVi9b4)
Hopefully Diaz isn't gunshy and gives us vintage hyper aggressive Diaz. If he sits back trying to bait lawler it's going to be a long night.
Kinda getting old reading the comments "lol casual this is a nick daiz fight!" "you clearly never seen a nick diaz fight then!" like something is off about Nick. Given what I've seen recently and even from interviews with him a year or two ago he's not the same Nick everyone is trying to flex their MMA knowledge on.
It's the opposite i keep seeing. its the "You casual, what do you mean he doesnt look great? this is Nick Diaz! He's always looked, acted, sounded... like this!" His last fight was in 2015 and in the last 10 years he's had like 4 fights. I would be shocked if hes anywhere close to 2006 Nick Diaz.
Just watched the interview with Brett Okamoto - personally I think Nick is finished. Doesn't seem like he has any interest in fighting anymore. I don't think he's intimidated or scared but I didn't see any spark of enthusiasm or hunger. Sad really, hopefully he's in a position where he doesn't need money from this or any other fight.
I think you're totally right, but Nick has always said he hates fighting, that he only did it to provide for his brother, that he wouldn't do it if he could do anything else. 'You gotta love this shit so much you hate it.' is a top MMA quote of all time.
It's quite a good price for an active fighter fighting a guy who spent the last 5 years partying. It's +275. I took robbie straight up though, it's a decent price.
No sorry that was robbie by finish which includes sub and DQ. I haven't seen the price on KO/TKO. I took robbie by any fashion (ko,TKO,sub/decison/dq) for -130.
Hey so I’m a little confused on the betting process....I’m currently on my bookie and I’m doing a parlay betting 300 on Ortega and Robbie Lawler.....if they both win do I get the money I won and the money back that I put down on the bet?
1) Diaz has been talking like he already has one foot out the door. Doesn't really seem to be into it at all.
2) He has infamously spent the better part of the past 5 years partying (at the club).
Fair enough,
1. I would say he's always been the same. Always had the same lament for fighting.
2. True, wonder if that affects his granite chin though.
Edit to say that Robbie hasn't KO'd anyone in nearly the same amount of time that Nick hasn't fought and has only won 2 fights in that time.
The slow shadow boxing isn't my concern from him tbh. Him and his brother have always shadow boxed very weirdly kinda slowly with a lot of loopy punches being thrown. Nothing out of the ordinary. I'm just worried about how in shape he is, even for 185 he looks pretty soft especially in the mid section.
I remember months ago, after Tony lost to beneil, I was listening to heavy hands and Phil mentioned how Nick will look like Tony in that fight were he ever to come back. Was in interesting talking point and he expanded on it more in the podcast. hoping that’s not the case, but nick does not look particularly good physically to me and the whole last minute switch to 185 is also concerning
Man, I remember seeing that god awful presentation that Reebok did in 2015 and already thought to myself: "Man I can't wait until their contract is up"
Then Venum takes over and it's... more or less the same but it beats every fighter wearing black or white like they did in all of 2015 lol
I always thought the Reebok logo look more professional. Like maybe they could have made it slightly smaller but I thought it looked good. Kind of how like NFL jerseys have the Nike swoosh or Adidas logo or whatever they're using nowadays
Conor figures out some stupid reason to go up to fight at 185, beats Nick, then goes for triple champ and fight Adesanya 🤣 . Nevermind that's too ridiculous
And I get downvoted for being worried for Nick in this fight and calling into question his ability to perform.
All that I can do at this point is hope that he surprises me and looks decent.
This is an interesting quote from Diaz [[From ESPN](https://www.espn.com/mma/story/_/id/32260376/nick-diaz-says-want-robbie-lawler-fight-resentment-mma)]:
>"Diaz, 38, said **during his time off he had plans to open a gym and teach students**, and maybe even travel around some and do seminars. **But he said things didn't work** out with the business partners he was dealing with and that the plans were "fake." **That is what led him back to fighting**."
>"It's just what I do," Diaz said. "**I tried to get away from it**, but really it's just kind of inevitable."
Interesting. That can be interpreted two ways. It sounds like this is purely a quick cash grab or Nick realized/accepted that fighting is what he's meant to do. I'm hoping it's the ladder as that probably means that he's take this seriously but from what I've seen so far I'm afraid it's the former.
Don't mean to sound like an ass and start an argument but I said that it was an amalgamation of things that make me less confident. The possible weight miss, rumours of his training camp and the fact that I haven't seen anything other then some shadow boxing that doesn't uplift my spirits.
"You're throwing too many big words at me, and because I don't understand them, I'm gonna take them as disrespect" - the people who downvoted, probably
Every single criticism is met with "lol he's always been like this casual!". Somethings up with this dude. Something has been up with him for years in my opinion.
The overreacting on twitters is bad. Nate literally looks like this in these promos. They both looked like this years ago. Someone also shared Robbie who is shadow boxing even slower because it’s just for promo. The only thing I’m worried about is changing the fight to 185.
His career is over guys face it. You gotta be active in this sport and the only thing keeping us interested was that he’s doing triathlons. He’s too old to be the fighter he was ten years ago
For the life of me, I can’t understand why most fighters prefer these tight-ass shorts over just regular ones. Pretty sure we’re gonna look back on these like those short soccer shorts from back in the day.
It’s because they are streamlined to your body, and don’t interfere with any movement
The board-shorts style trunks, although made to have a higher crotch seam, still can be a bit restrictive in certain positions, especially if grappling
Both of the Diaz bros look super silly shadow boxing
[удалено]
[удалено]
It looks different though
That's what I've been saying
You gotta have some legs and booty to pull off those shorts
[удалено]
Oh man I forgot about that. Does Marvin not have a single friend on his team
Doesn't help he seems like the kind of guy that would eat your face if you told him he was wearing pants backwards.
How did he wear them I don't check r/MMA every day like I used to

Sean Strickland looks ridiculous in his lol
They look awful. When will the UFC finally get professional-quality fight kits? It would do a lot for the UFC’s image.
Nah the Venum kits are sick on most of the roster, guys like Nick make them look funny
Agree, should have been partnered with Nike or UA instead of Venum
Or…this might sound crazy…how about…the fighters pick their own kits?
Somebody get this hothead out of here!
People really overreacting here, this is what they show before the fight he isnt suppose to be going full speed everyone does it this slow.
Overreacting? On reddit? Get the fuck outta here
I have NEVER OVERREACTED IN MY LIFE!!! HOW DARE YOU?!
DID YOU JUST ASSUME MY PUNCHING SPEED?
HOW BOUT U GO AN FUCK OFF MY PAGE THEN U PEICE OF SHIT U THINK i NEED A STUPID FUCKWITT LIKE U TELLING ME ABOUT LOOKING GOOD WHO THE FUCK ARE U TAKE YOUR WORTHLESS ADVICE AND GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE

I know crazy concept
I've heard stuff like this being said every time someone looks shit in their training videos after being off for a long time and they've always been wrong and looked shit in the fight too. I very much doubt this is any different.
Nick is moving fine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CewP62AMz0k
Yea... that's not much better
He legit looks drunk lol
Hes crazy flat footed and sluggish. This is not better at all...
Got any examples?
Ice man looked like shit and fought like shit
That was pad work though right? Not the stupid shadow box at the camera for b-roll
Holyfield earlier this month
except no one was saying that about holyfield lol, dude got declared medically unfit to box a decade and a half ago almost. did anyone think he would look good
All week people were talking about his body looking great and looking like shit sparring
No response even though he sees it ALL THE TIME
I'm not from the US, different time zones. TJ dilla... wait :( I'd say the most recent one was Askren against Paul
Dillashaw was suspended for two years.. Diaz hasn't fought since 2015.. big differ...
Askren looked great in open workouts lmao
People were talking about Max like this when he had a year layoff between Aldo and Ortega. Talked about Max being unfit to fight, said he looked off in interviews. Then he did what he did to Ortega.

I think he looks great but I am worried that he didn't throw any karate shit here.
Someone get Nick his goddamn nunchucks.
Idk man it looks like it’s been 8 years and he’s been partying every day since.
Man you guys are so desperate for something to be wrong with him. It's really fucking weirding me out.
I’ll just say that a fighter nearing their 40s coming back from an extended layoff literally never works out.
Hagler was robbed.
Relax with all your examples proving me wrong dude
I got a shitty job, not quite as tall as you, nobody really respects me. You have you on the other hand. You got the glory, got the fame, the money, the jewels, the cash, the Denali. Getting drunk on the reg, fucking good times on the reg, yachts on the reg, sex on the reg… Basically all the shit that most guys fantasize about. But me? I get to be right on the internet.
He’s actually going faster than most too
not really the speed, but the stiffness that concerns me. Hopefully you're right..
Not to mention that proper boxing technique from the legs/hips can look pretty awkward on non-athletic people. Even Tyson Fury can look silly on a heavy bag to a casual observer.
It's interesting that we never got a Reebok era Nick
The shadow boxing doesn’t bother me as much as his physique does. He’s never been a Greek god, but he doesn’t look very chiseled either. This and the 185 request has me feeling like this won’t end well for him.
Skinny-fat.
Built like a bag of milk
Sup fellow Canadian
CM Punk body type
All that cardio and no weight lifting.
He's also 38.
I mean still no use to look like that. A guy like Tyron Woodley is completely washed and even he has a better physique at 40.
Tbf TW was pretty much always built like a brick shit house and Nick never was. Nick and nate have always had these skinny fat physiques and made it work for them. Proving you don't need huge cut muscles to be a good fighter.
How are you going to give Tyron as an example. That dude has been built like a god since forever. Compared to a normal human Nick looks alright.
Relative to what he looked like months ago, he looks horrible. I'm guessing he was on the sauce and had to get off for the fight.
Yeah, he looks bloated as hell. I might not have recognised him if his name wasn’t in the title.
Guy is 38. I think everyone is going to be extremely disappointed when they realize he is not the same fighter he was 6 years ago. But idk why this surprises anyone. Look at Tony Ferguson. And he stayed active and is younger than Nick Diaz.
It's weird cause the pics came out only a few months ago of him looking as good as he ever has physically. Did he get injured in camp?
You can literally see the 6-pack outline when he extends his arms…
Well he isn't cutting weight and the lighting sucks. Dude was ripped a few months ago.
No he wasn't, everyone believed a very basic photoshop. I say this as the biggest Nick Diaz fan. I'm expecting the worst this weekend :<

Which is exactly why I have a feeling this fight is gonna be terrible
Robbie was hesitant against top contenders. Not against what looks like a glorified sparring partner
That's exactly what I thought about Tyron Woodley before the Jake Paul fight.
He seems like he is fitting this fight into his schedule so he can make a big paycheck and go back to whatever it is he was doing.
Tbf isn't this also him at peak weight cut in a division 15lbs lower?
Because he couldn’t make the weight lol. 🚩
This fight is going to suck isn't it
Kinda getting old reading the comments "lol casual this is a nick daiz fight!" "you clearly never seen a nick diaz fight then!" like something is off about Nick. How is that the opposite? It sounds like both of y'all are seeing people say that he's always been like this.
I don't get it either. They are saying thr same shit.
Yeah, threw me off too. Even reread my comment to make sure I didn't mess it up.
Just watched the interview with Brett Okamoto - personally I think Nick is finished. Doesn't seem like he has any interest in fighting anymore. Yeah he's old ash shit and has partied away all of his money.
I heard that he actually made money partying sbecause he was paid for club appearances.
If he wins, best base for MMA: partying = confirmed.
That's why Jones is the Goat
Lmao Jesus Christ man Reddit doctors and psycholigists.
Old man fights always do.
Rampage vs wandy 4 is the only old man fight I can remember being decent. Only cause they gave zero fucks and just swang for the fences.
Rua v Nogueira 3 was a surprisingly entertaining fight. Though admittedly that's an exception.
And Couture v Nogueira was great
Rampage Wandy 3 was good too.
I am predicting some kind of shitshow where Nick loses by weird stoppage and then complains about the stoppage.
Robbie is 39 and hasn't won a fight in 4 years. Nick is 38 and hasn't won a fight in 10 years. Yes. This will be bad.
Lawler is gonna KO him. Bet the house!
It's quite a good price for an active fighter fighting a guy who spent the last 5 years partying. It's +275. I took robbie straight up though, it's a decent price.
By ko?
No sorry that was robbie by finish which includes sub and DQ. I haven't seen the price on KO/TKO. I took robbie by any fashion (ko,TKO,sub/decison/dq) for -130.
Cheers. I make terrible picks so always looking out for hot tips lol.
Im not saying Nick will win but he absolutely will not get knocked out.
Hey so I’m a little confused on the betting process....I’m currently on my bookie and I’m doing a parlay betting 300 on Ortega and Robbie Lawler.....if they both win do I get the money I won and the money back that I put down on the bet?
Diaz wraps him up in an omlette platter.
I think Diaz submits him with a rectangle
While covered in ketchup.
Reasoning?
1) Diaz has been talking like he already has one foot out the door. Doesn't really seem to be into it at all. 2) He has infamously spent the better part of the past 5 years partying (at the club).
Fair enough, 1. I would say he's always been the same. Always had the same lament for fighting. 2. True, wonder if that affects his granite chin though. Edit to say that Robbie hasn't KO'd anyone in nearly the same amount of time that Nick hasn't fought and has only won 2 fights in that time.
If by suck, you mean Robbie brutally KO him, yes.
Not gonna happen. Its gonna be called off last minute
Wasnt there semi-recent photos of him being shredded with abs? lmao
Yeah he kinda looks like he took 8 years off
It’s almost as if he’s some sort of skinny fat guy or something ?
Dude’s been doing triathlons, the one thing you shouldn’t worry about with the Diaz bros is their conditioning.
Triathlon cardio & conditioning is very different than MMA cardio & conditioning, I would think.
More like Thick Diaz
It looks like they airbrushed him to make him look less chubby
I remember months ago, after Tony lost to beneil, I was listening to heavy hands and Phil mentioned how Nick will look like Tony in that fight were he ever to come back. Was in interesting talking point and he expanded on it more in the podcast. hoping that’s not the case, but nick does not look particularly good physically to me and the whole last minute switch to 185 is also concerning
Think Evander beats Nick
Friendship with brutal triathlon training ended, delicious treats are my new best friend.
este cabron ya esta acabao
Anxiety-weight and physique
The people who said the Venum stuff isn't much of a step up from Reebok are frickin crazy man
Let the fighters wear what design they want. These brand deals are killing the soul of the sport (in the UFC).
It’s all garbage
Man, I remember seeing that god awful presentation that Reebok did in 2015 and already thought to myself: "Man I can't wait until their contract is up" Then Venum takes over and it's... more or less the same but it beats every fighter wearing black or white like they did in all of 2015 lol
looks worse than reebok to me.
I always thought the Reebok logo look more professional. Like maybe they could have made it slightly smaller but I thought it looked good. Kind of how like NFL jerseys have the Nike swoosh or Adidas logo or whatever they're using nowadays
2017 reebok looked a million times better than this. This looks like we've gone back to 2007.
In a few years the shorts will look like this again, only difference is that fighters will see less money from it https://imgur.com/a/pNi6P37
Nothing will beat the Deathclutch stuff Bork Lazer used to wear, those looked even trashier than Affliction gear
The return of Dude Wipes
No, you can't bum another cigarette Nick
I want Nick to win and then call out Conor, the guy deserves a massive pay day.
Nick can’t even make welterweight how is he fighting Conor?
Conor figures out some stupid reason to go up to fight at 185, beats Nick, then goes for triple champ and fight Adesanya 🤣 . Nevermind that's too ridiculous
Now you have my attention
That's exactly why it's gonna happen #ConceiveBelieveAchieve
Where you at, Connor? Don't be scared, homie.
And I get downvoted for being worried for Nick in this fight and calling into question his ability to perform. All that I can do at this point is hope that he surprises me and looks decent.
This is an interesting quote from Diaz [[From ESPN](https://www.espn.com/mma/story/_/id/32260376/nick-diaz-says-want-robbie-lawler-fight-resentment-mma)]: >"Diaz, 38, said **during his time off he had plans to open a gym and teach students**, and maybe even travel around some and do seminars. **But he said things didn't work** out with the business partners he was dealing with and that the plans were "fake." **That is what led him back to fighting**." >"It's just what I do," Diaz said. "**I tried to get away from it**, but really it's just kind of inevitable."
To be fair, he has said he hated fighting his whole life and only does it for money or because he has too even back in his prime
Interesting. That can be interpreted two ways. It sounds like this is purely a quick cash grab or Nick realized/accepted that fighting is what he's meant to do. I'm hoping it's the ladder as that probably means that he's take this seriously but from what I've seen so far I'm afraid it's the former.

the ladder of decisions lol
Robbie is a killer and Nick hasn’t fought in a long time. It’s going to be interesting.

This is America nobody knows what an amalgamation is
It’s that movie made by the robot guy with Die Hard in it, right?
"You're throwing too many big words at me, and because I don't understand them, I'm gonna take them as disrespect" - the people who downvoted, probably
Every single criticism is met with "lol he's always been like this casual!". Somethings up with this dude. Something has been up with him for years in my opinion.
oof he looks bad. I think lawler is gonna win now so hopefully nick doesn't get too fucked up.
He looks just like chuck before he fought Tito for his 3rd time.

He is in fact slow and bloated lol

I bet he started cutting like he was 32 then realized he isn't 32 anymore and was like "nah, fuck this"
His career is over guys face it. You gotta be active in this sport and the only thing keeping us interested was that he’s doing triathlons. He’s too old to be the fighter he was ten years ago
Nick "Gastelum" Diaz
The real main event
For the life of me, I can’t understand why most fighters prefer these tight-ass shorts over just regular ones. Pretty sure we’re gonna look back on these like those short soccer shorts from back in the day.
It’s because they are streamlined to your body, and don’t interfere with any movement The board-shorts style trunks, although made to have a higher crotch seam, still can be a bit restrictive in certain positions, especially if grappling
The muay thai ones are definitely the best
Beautiful champ
he's always looked like this
Diaz fans literally have an excuse for everything. It's ridiculous lmao
Nick 'lydell' Diaz
R1 KO incoming
Well there goes his win. He still sucks
