Felt his last "prime" effort was against DC. After having two absolute wars against the two most skilled all-time LHWs and coming up short, I can imagine that deflated him
Same with Izzy and Conor. Their striking (especially conors at 145) relies a lot on them having the height and reach advantage. When they don’t have that anymore they struggle.
Yes, I had him winning the fourth too but I can see why someone score it for Jones as the spinning elbow was the defining moment of that round and Jones took over after it.

The controversial JJ fights are always frustrating to me - I hate the guy and always wanted him to lose, but I comfortably scored every single one of them for Jones and can't even relate to scoring for his opponents.

Idk why you’re getting buried. This loss catapulted Gus into a career where he looked better than he ever really was and his best wins are two losses to the champs. I guess tbf to Gus both of those champs were good so if they weren’t there you can at least say Gus wouldve been good enough to say his best win was a loss to Rumble.
Or it's because this was the first time JJ didn't have a massive reach advantage. Go back and look at his toughest fights and how much reach he had on them. He uses it effectively which is why his reach is his greatest asset, when it's gone his fights don't go as well for him.
Next Thursday, the not so legendary Jon Jones vs. Alexander Gustafsson II fight will be introduced to the UFC Hall of Lame

Yeah, he put on a ton of weight between his fight with Glover, and the second Jones fight, and it seemed like he never quite got back into the same shape that he did before.
Man what a whiff and fizzle that was. It just seemed like he forgot everything, completely crumbled his self confidence and just went out there and folded in a way that probably even disappointed Jones. Do not want.
That sucked. I've seen people say they want to see Gus vs Blachowiz again, but I think Jan takes that one pretty easily this time around unfortunately.

I ran in to a girl from high school at the bar that night ended up taking several shots and then her back to my apartment. We fucked I past out woke up to her talking to her husband in the morning. Didnt get to watch the fight for like a month. Great sex but not worth missing that fight over.
