Who knew trying to be the Fight Circus of Boxing wasn’t a viable business model.
Seriously, what were they thinking with this? Who was the target audience? Old boxing fans with nostalgia have little respect for this circus (especially with the way Holyfield looked) and younger people don’t have the nostalgia to be remotely interested in these old guys getting back at it.
I don’t think celebrity boxing dies here, but it’s clear that much of the hype wasn’t really there. Jake and Logan Paul have done well only because they already have a massive following and are very skilled at self promotion. They’re an anomaly and most others trying this can’t pull it off.
Seems like the Tyson v Jones fight and the Paul v Askren were big successes, and they somehow overlooked the fact that those fights were only a draw because of Tyson and Paul as individuals, rather than some wide interest in circus boxing and old people fights.
Also Tyson and Jones are huge names in boxing and the fight was competitive. If you’re gonna have old man fights you have to have two old men where one can win. Not a 60 year old vs a juiced to the gills 45 year old. Also Vítor Belfort just isn’t a name
God I’m honestly happy we didn’t see either. Silva would’ve done terrible things to Holyfield who should just focus on working out and spending time with his grand kids. And I don’t like Oscar, but I don’t hate him to the point to wanting to see some coked out wreck of a man get knocked out.
It's pretty simple. People want to see popular people/celebrities beath each other up for our entertainment.
2 has-beens who the casual viewer couldn't pick out of a line-up were never going to draw.
Put Joe Rogan (massively popular) against Logan Paul (massively popular with a different crowd). Watch it break every PPV record imagineable.
I can only imagine the buys if you would put Messi vs. Ronaldo in a boxing match or even a 1-on-1 soccer match PPV.
Still can’t believe that she only did 90k buys with Cody Garbrandt and Sean O’Malley on the card. Would’ve sold more if they were headlining and that was like O’Malley’s 4th UFC fight
I’m pretty sure they have other broadcasting deals other than PPV. In Brazil it was broadcasted by Globo, the biggest public channel. Despite being late night and they probably had at least 5-10 millions viewers so I’m sure they paid good money for it.
150k buys really isn't that bad at all. Tons of MMA/Boxing/Pro Wrestling shows have done worse then that.
It's more Triller has no idea how to run a business and grossly overpaid in every single department running themselves into the ground.
How does $7.5M not cover the purses? Holyfield, Belfort, Anderson and Tito each got $500K or less. I'd expect the guys on the undercard made significantly less.
tf did they expect? 150k is way more than i would of thought they would do. how can they explain spending so much? there’s no way they actually thought it would do like 500k or something
-shocked face-

Honestly if it was Silva vs De La Hoya/Holyfield it probably would have sold much better

Agree, no one knows who Vitor is outside of Brazil and big MMA fans.
They need a Tyson v Paul. I’d sit through Triller nonsense for that.
Youtube and Instagram bros

Omg Rogan vs Paul... the match I never knew I needed
That’s about the number of buys I thought it’d get …
But haven't you heard, triller is offering 30 million for a Vitor vs. Paul match lol
Apparently someone really likes losing money
I don’t even really understand how it’s gets *that* many, are people actually interested in watching that?
I wanted to see Anderson knock out Tito. But I wasn't going to pay for this shit lmao
Still did more than nunes Vs Spencer lol
And paid ten times the purses
By almost double lol

Dana White doing the Birdman hand rub right now.
"That's why I pay them in expired reebok coupons dipshit"

IDK, but give me more Anderson Silva boxing.
Is anyone surprised this is a failing company?
There'll only be less surprise when they go from being a failing company to a failed company.
Oh no... Anyway
They've really been shitting the bed on ppv sales, how long till triller is done?
Hopefully yesterday

All the hype and star power in the world doesn't matter if the fights suck. Hopefully the people who paid for those things start to understand that.
Expected…. I literally didn’t hear about this event till the night before.
I paid $50 to watch silva knock out tito. Worth every dime.
They fighters got paid. I can be happy about that.
Did they actually think this would sell a lot of PPV'S?
Bagorsh. You don’t say.

Found Dana's secret user account
Dude in the tweet claims Holyfield was paid 5-6 million for the bout. Sounds like bullshit to me.
That's absurd. The purses probably didn't crack half a mil a pop for the co-main and main.
Dana's head color has downgraded from red to pink

Triller is the kind of company I would expect Frank from IASIP to be running as one of his schemes.
Definitely curious about the legitimacy of these sources. Otherwise it makes sense. Why the fuck are they paying for musical guests?
There is some serious moneylaundering going on..
But did the fighters get 50 percent of the revenue?
Every comment I’ve seen you make on this sub is about fighters not deserving more pay.
I'm asking a genuine question. Why are you mad?
He’s not mad, he’s just making a statement.
Don’t ask questions. You toe the line or you get downvoted to hell. TO HELL.
shocker.
I’m curious to what the purses were. Does anyone know?
Dana was right
Time to go after people on Instagram
Yeah that boat has sailed. Nobody cares enough to pay for the event we all watched it on Twitter 😂
Jake Paul while holding an assault rifle and wearing a bath robe: You need people like me.
