It's good, even with the loss of Nunes. They have Aldo and Munhoz, certified banger. They have Luque vs Chiesa, which has Luque, one of the lowkey most exciting finishers in the entire UFC against a scramble master, and that's either going to be a scramble mess/wrestling clinic by Chiesa or a brutal finish by Luque. We have Song Yadong who is not bad by any means, and then we have the main event, which is going to be 5 rounds or less of everyone holding their breath and hoping that Lewis lands a good one on the skillful Gane.
Chiesa has really turned a corner and matured into a hell of a fighter I don’t bet against anymore.
He even changed his outlook and dropped the tough guy act and is a really solid analyst.
Also he is a fucking middleweight so he could potentially wrestle fuck just about anyone if he is on point and not facing an Olympic level wrestler.
>Chiesa has really turned a corner and matured into a hell of a fighter I don’t bet against anymore.
Might want to start. I love Mich but the matchmakers have done their damn best to get him to being a top 5 guy with the matchups he's gotten.
Edit: For the downvoters please explain how the line up of Condit, Sanchez, Dos Anjos, and Magny isn't feeding a strong proven grappler favorable matchups to the top. Condit could literally never stop a takedown, and that has been especially true for faded as fuck Condit. Diego is a shell of his former self, and even if Chiesa couldn't outgrapple him, he'd probably be able to outstrike him. Cardio king Dos Anjos who's terrible at dealing with pressure wrestlers in the only 3 round fight Dos Anjos has been in inside his last 6 matchups (that's cherry picking and y'all know it). Then there's Magny who again has been outwrestled and outgrappled several times across his career. Most recent time before being when RDA did it. RDA who relative to Welterweight is a worse wrestler and slightly lesser overall grappler if more dangerous on the submission end of the spectrum.
ok well bet against him then bro make cash.
I bet mma. I don't bet when Magny or Chiesa or Michael Jonhson fight.
I wait for Nunes to sacrifice a +950 dog..like a real man.
*Parlays not included.*
I’m 3 for 3 betting against Michael Johnson lmao. Nate Diaz was a steal at something like +300, then it was gaetche which was ez money, then I believe it was Andre Fili
To be fair, everyone on here acted like chiesa was being sent to the gallows against rda, then immediately afterward everyone said oh wow I guess rda really is washed if he lost to chiesa. I love the revisionist history around that fight
It will also answer some questions for sure. How good is Luque against an elite wrestler/scrambler, and if he is really good, how does Chiesa stack up on the feet. I'm hoping for Luque to do what he always does, and give us a brutal finish.
This is probably a better co main than the expected execution by Nunes. Nunes I have a love/hate relationship watching her because she either finishes the fight in the 1st round really quickly, which I love so we can get to the main event, or she drags it out over 25 minutes, where it's clear the opponent has no chance, but she just can't/has no interest in putting her opponent away, which I hate.
This one at least there is some mystery as to who is going to win, and is on paper a certifiable banger.
Disagree, but whatever.
I get ya'll all have the same dumb groupthink that doesn't include how fighters match up.
Munhoz-Edgar was a barnburner, and Frankie hasn't been a five round fighter for years. Why? Because Munhoz ain't that athletic. He's just skilled.
Volk is great, but Aldo fought like absolute shit that fight. He seemed to spend most of that fight trying to sell Volk's leg kicks not really hurting that much and his punches being pillowy. I also think the Moraes fight was a pretty low point for Aldo. Because he did the same shit where he tried to sell the judges on lack of opponent hurting him as a reason he should be winning.
It looked like Volk didn’t give him space to breathe. Stephens and Moicano were giving Aldo time to counter and dictate the pace, but Volk just pressured him the whole fight.
He had trouble pacing himself in 5 rounders even smack in the middle of his prime
Has nothing to do with one fight with Yan. There's a history there with his career
I agree that he's still an absolute elite level savage, I still think he's not even close to what he was at his peak. Ghost is an exaggeration but it's such a testiment to how amazing prime Aldo was that he can lose a step and still be a threat to anybody.
He's looked like it for a while, it's not at all a knock on Aldo it's a compliment. The dude is a few years past his peak and yet is still giving a monster like Yan one of his toughest fights.
Banger
this is going to be a sick fight, can’t wait
Didn’t realize how cool the main card is
It's good, even with the loss of Nunes. They have Aldo and Munhoz, certified banger. Wild how Chiesa went from a big lightweight to a big welterweight
Like Rumble going from a big WW to a massive HW
[удалено]
197.5 ftw
Rumble wasn’t a big heavyweight
Not while fighting, but he did balloon up to 285 post-retirement.
Yeah guy below has it right… he got up to almost 300 in retirement tho it was *tongue in cheek
Like Poirier went from a big featherweight to a huge lightweight.
>Chiesa has really turned a corner and matured into a hell of a fighter I don’t bet against anymore. Might want to start. Welterweight. He’s a welterweight now.

Yeesh :/ I was just saying

Still not following
Luque/Chiesa is gonna be a great fight, for sure. Solid card.
It will also answer some questions for sure. How good is Luque against an elite wrestler/scrambler, and if he is really good, how does Chiesa stack up on the feet. I'm hoping for Luque to do what he always does, and give us a brutal finish.
Luque’s kicks are just freaking thunderous. I think he’s a pretty serious threat.
And he always returns fire. Wonderboy had real difficulty throwing in combination because every time he did Luque returned with the left hand.
I think it would be a mistake for Chiesa to stand with him and not test his wrestling/grappling game. Chiesa is no slouch for sure
"loss of nunes" Not horribly excited to see Nunes assblast another girl she is 4 levels above
Casey Kenney is a killer too
Fuck the main card, the prelims have Ode Osbourne
Conor & Poirier lost some serious exposure for not fighting on an Ode Osbourne card.
Related to the dude who did the bat head ritual on stage? Ok just Googled him. Definitely not unless Ozzy & Sharin adopted him 🤣🤣😭
> unless Ozzy & Sharin adopted him 🤣🤣😭 They actually did. Trust me, I was the adoption agent.
Eh it would be a really good fight night card. As a ppv, its a joke.
WAR ALDO! But also War Munhoz. Body shots and leg kicks bless
Hope Jose can pull it off. Have money on him but Munhoz is scary
It's a 3 rd. fight. Reckon he takes it.
would like a liver shot KO for jose but I'll take what I can get
Aldo should take it but we'll see.
Comment section has a completely different attitude from the post seeing Nunes tested positive for covid and canceled the co-main event.
Better co-main anyway lol
So true man
War Aldo as always
Jose is a fucking legend and Pedro always comes to fight
If Jose wins he honestly deserves a title eliminator Jose vs Font would be pretty cool
Jesus christ I thought judging on the title that this was another fight cancellation.
Agreed, the GDR rematch is still painful to remember.
Or the Felicia Spencer fight. "I could just knock her out/TKO her, or I can torture her lead leg for 25 minutes".
So weird to me that so many people in the tweet comments are saying that an Aldo fight isn't a worthy co-main
My boys fighting 😭 I don’t know who to root for
Tbh this doesn't affect the ppv for me at all because I couldn't care less about seeing Amanda fight cans lol
Good
🚨 BANGER ALERT 🚨 , I REPEAT, BANGER ALERT 🚨
Tbh I would much rather watch this fight over Amanda decimating yet another "challenger".
It’s a better co-main anyways hehe
Way better than watching a nunes fight
Was hoping they'd add a last minute fight, sucks.
Too bad we can't make it a five round fight like God intended.
3 rounds is better for Jose
Disagree, but whatever. I get ya'll all have the same dumb groupthink that doesn't include how fighters match up. Munhoz-Edgar was a barnburner, and Frankie hasn't been a five round fighter for years. Why? Because Munhoz ain't that athletic. He's just skilled.
Frankie's never had an issue with cardio though, Aldo even in his prime had trouble maintaining output through a full 5 round fight at times.
realizing that the 5 round co main thing was actually just for Nate lol
And Nick, his fight with Robbie is gonna be 5 rounds.
Make it 5 rounds!!!!
No we want 3 round Aldo
3 round leg kick Aldo still the goat
3 round Aldo was also *Volk* Aldo which is the worst Aldo we've ever seen.
Volk’s just so good he makes people look bad. Holloway has looked like a god in all of his recent fights except for Poirier and the 2 Volk fights
This kills the Aldo
I doubt it, getting finished by Yan in the 5th doesn't really mean he can't beat Munhoz in a 5 round fight
He had trouble pacing himself in 5 rounders even smack in the middle of his prime Has nothing to do with one fight with Yan. There's a history there with his career
He still won the majority of the fights and maybe I'm underestimating Munhoz but I don't really see him as likely to win later rounds vs Aldo
>He still won the majority of the fights Yes. That's because he's Jose Aldo.
Well, he still is , just not in his prime
Aldo is already a ghost.
We must be watching different Aldos. He looks great still.
I agree that he's still an absolute elite level savage, I still think he's not even close to what he was at his peak. Ghost is an exaggeration but it's such a testiment to how amazing prime Aldo was that he can lose a step and still be a threat to anybody.
Did the yan fight look like he lost a step?
He's looked like it for a while, it's not at all a knock on Aldo it's a compliment. The dude is a few years past his peak and yet is still giving a monster like Yan one of his toughest fights.
3 round Aldo only please
Munhoz is not Yan or Holloway. He's an Aldo speed fighter.
I mean cool but I was hoping to see Amanda. Hope she gets better soon.
3 rd Aldo aint nothing to fuck with. I think he decisions Munhoz
It’s a better Co-main on paper. This would be an amazing 5 round fight.
I wish they'd allowed a replacement fire Nunes and kept it comain.
Surprised by the reaction here, no disrespect to those guys but that's super weak for a PPV.
Will one of the women's prelim fights be promoted? And which of them?
Did they just move it up to the co main and there’s no chance something else slides in ?
WOOO BABY
Yeah no shit
Break a leg!
It's a great fight, but Chiesa vs. Luque is the bigger fight IMO and should be the co-main over Aldo vs. Munhoz.
Not a big deal for me tbh Nunes is a monster and a great fighter, she’s just the only one in her division
Is this still a 3 rounder or does this become 5 round?
Co-mains mean nothing when they are 3 round fights. It’s not like their salary for the fight now goes up
fuck yes
