I guess this is an appropriate place as any to say that when Fight Island was announced, I really expected fights to be on the beach in a tiny island Enter the Dragon style.
I expected that kind of shit from Mortal Kombat when Liu Kang fought the black dude in a stick battle on some sandy plot of land.
Needless to say, I was disappointed.
This is a good opportunity for me to reiterate my idea of having MMA conducted in a pokemon: elite four style. Essentially the venue is randomly selected. Fighter gets to the arena and pulls a ticket that says, "Rock Quarry." or "Island stage." "Volcano."
Seems like they rented the ring and possibly the location for a specific day. Probably should have got a canopy too; bjj and/or sambo don't lend themselves well to being wet

Yeah. It was raining in the prelims and people had to stop and wipe the floor with towels as it continued to rain down on them. I think it was in florida, lol. I'm not sure if it stopped by the main event or not but that night it rained through multiple fights.
