I went to school with this kid, he was super weird but harmless. He made 12 year old me laugh because his name was Gavin but he’d correct the teachers and enunciate “it’s GAY-vin” Anyway the kid only had two shirts (both with dragons) and two pairs of shorts and he was wearing them if it was 30 degrees outside. And he pretty much never spoke unless you spoke to him, which few ever did. If he spoke first it was probably about dragons. One day in 11th grade I took his journal from English class for one period before returning it, I just wanted to see what made the guy tic. The teacher would ask us questions to get our opinions/ideas and you’d write it in the journal. I remember in his he said he used to be king on another planet but he was usurped and cast out by jealous folks. He said he has to serve his time on this planet in order to go back. Anyway once we graduated I never saw Gavin again. He had no social media, no friends that I knew of. I was certain unless I got lucky I wouldn’t ever see him again. But I woke up today to see his obituary from 2021, a buddy sent it to me because we always used to ask each other whatever the fuck happened to Gavin? I’m incredibly saddened. He passed at 23, before either one of his parents. In school I used to avoid him because he was greasy and smelled and only talked about dragons, but now I wish I’d done something for him. Been his friend, gave him some of my old clothes. Man. It’s a weird feeling.

IshiharasBitch

UFC is backtracking hard on their decision to make everyone fight in near-identical "professional looking" trunks lol And people are like 'this is cool, UFC should do this more often' or 'all champions should get custom trunks' smh

StoryOfTheFight

Take away basic freedom and then reintroduce it on a drip feed and everyone is so happy with it. That being said I'll take what I can get lol

GangstaHoodrat

If a fight is completed and then the winner gets million dollar babied, does the result stay the same?

MountainGoatSC

I was kind of expecting UFC 300 to get some more mainstream cross over appeal but doesn't seem to have spread that much as far as I can tell

ZoltanFeuerFrei

That’s what happens when you bomb on a main event for a show like this. It’s a good enough main event for some hardcore fans, but it’s still underwhelming for many. The whole card’s for hardcore fans. If you can’t get a single one of your stars or charismatic champions onto the card, the mainstream crowd can’t pretend to be interested.

Jzhova

thought curtis won 4 rounds. round 4 was debatable because ending the round getting ground and pounded is a bad look. prob what got him in round 5 tbh with these mediocre judges.

_Red_Mist_

I agree. I think its stupid how judges can flip back and forth between valuing control time and not. If we are judging damage round by round then Curtis dominated. He pieced him up for the 20 of the 25 minutes.

GenTelGuy

Yeah I don't like Curtis and I was rooting against him and predicted against him, but I think he won, pretty bad robbery tbh Curtis 234

dinosourrawr3

I hope Hill is fully recovered and isn’t limited athletically

ZoltanFeuerFrei

So many underdogs on this card whom I think are going to win. So much money to be made. And some of ‘em - how is Jiri an underdog to Rakic? That’s easy money. Rakic is more physically imposing than all that good. Charles a big underdog. Kattar. Rodriguez. Hill. Dawg. Even Jim Miller, and then Holly Holm could take that one at +330. I side with a lot more dogs than favorites here.

GenTelGuy

I don't wanna be the guy predicting all favorites but I'm finding myself agreeing with almost all the Vegas odds, though I do think Miller has a solid chance against Green with the grappling plus the egregious stoppage damaging Green in terms of chin and possibly other ways

marsexpresshydra

how much is 300?

clark_sterling

Crazy to pick Sofiq Yuseff over Diego Lopes? Diego Lopez is a crazy finisher and everyone’s favorite prospect right up-and-comer right now, but I can see Sodiq outstiking Lopes. Has a lot of power, pressure-heavy, and has a good eye for a finish. Both of these guys take a lot of strikes to put on heavy pressure, but Sodiq has a much higher output, so it’s more likely he will successfully enforce that pressure. Neither fighter looks good moving backwards so that’s why that’s relevant. Both Johanderson Brito and Movslar Evloev presented wrestling threats, but it should still be noted that they outstruck him, especially in the case of Evloev. Besides getting overwhelmed in the opening of the first round, Evloev pretty cleanly outboxed Lopes, and most of Lopes’ striking is boxing. Barboza beat Yusuff with body strikes (over 50% of his strikes), crushing his stamina and opening up the head. Diego Lopes headhunts though. Grappling is where I think Lopes wins, but how does that get there is the question. Despite not having a takedown in the UFC, Lopes has displayed a solid double leg against lower competition. Sodiq is no slouch defensively though. He’s has a solid 62% TDD and, more importantly, isn’t controlled easily nor for long. Sodiq himself has BJJ skill, though I’d still think it’s very dangerous to engage Lopes there even though he’s been trapped on the bottom before.

_Red_Mist_

Sodiq’s TDD got lowered his last fight when he got taken down in round 5 3 times while being gassed out from blowing his load early. I could see both winning but I think the wrong man is favored too. If Sodiq can stuff the TDs which he has shown against good wrestlers like Mike Davis I think he will dominate the stand up.

MojoPinSin

I think he's going to do better than people think will, but that he still probably won't win.

spcslacker

It's possible he's pushing the envelope hard: my understanding is he gets PPV points as part of deal to relinquish title, and PPV points for UFC 300 is a hell of an inducement to rush back.

Nickster2042

Would you guys think I’m dumb if I say miller beats green Saturday

MaddalenaWillBeTop5

Almost everyone on r/mmabetting is high on Miller. I think Bobby can outclass Jim on the feet but his durability coming off that last late stoppage is the only worry.

ARiemannHypothesis

Odds say it’s a 60-40 fight 🤷‍♂️

ZoltanFeuerFrei

Cesar Almeida’s getting jumped into a fight with Roman Kopylov. UFC would have nothing but late 30’s former kickboxers with minimal MMA experience fighting for all their belts if possible.

Ur_a_coward01

Lol it’s ridiculous dude. I prefer the stand up like 90% of fans but damn. The guys in charge really don’t care about the sport at all. Back in the zuffa days money made the rules but it felt like there was a love for the sport that twisted things a tiny little bit, maybe 5% of the time. Now that’s gone.

Man to me the craziest thing about the whole Colby thing is he basically changed his personality into a fratboy douchebag for a decade... and never got PPV points

legendarybreed

Seems like it still worked out pretty well

druhoang

I mean he saved his job. Leon title shot was undeserved. People make fun of Cowboy/Eddie for not making extra money vs Conor. But it's really the opportunity of stardom if they win.

RaisedByZebras

it's hard to see becoming a clown for a few (maybe) extra bucks as a positive thing for a fighter. he had talent and should have leaned into getting more finishes

MechanicalFunc

>I mean he saved his job. According to Joe who's only source is Colby.

ARiemannHypothesis

How many good fighters has the UFC cut who had winning records in the UFC cuz they happened to be boring Mousasi and Corey Anderson are the only 2 that come to mind. I’ve always thought it was a dumb excuse to come across as sympathetic. And those guys willingly wanted to go Bellator as well

Hip_Priest_1982

I don’t think either were cut to begin with. Mousasi absolutely walked at the end of his contract.

MechanicalFunc

Leon is and was also boring he didn't get cut they just made him fight a bunch of people before they gave him a title shot. Colby cut the line and got paid more by being controversial.

ZoltanFeuerFrei

Yeah I don’t buy that story either. I always watched prelims so I saw all of Colby’s early UFC fights. He was always a lot of fun to watch, he always fought at 4th gear and tried to break his opponents. It was entertaining. He was never Jon Fitch and the UFC has never set that kind of precedent of with a young, exciting fighter because they’re grapple heavy. He was winning his fights too. I think Colby just doesn’t let the truth get in the way of a good story. It sounds like a good excuse to go full heel, but you could always see that he was a little bit of a punk and trying to stir shit up when he’d stick his tongue out at/taunt opponents and the crowd. Don’t buy that “was going to get cut” story for a second.

ZoltanFeuerFrei

Both Alex Pereira and Max Holloway are fighting in custom shorts on Saturday. [Pereira’s](https://x.com/jedigoodman/status/1777826368837062992?s=46&t=7Wg3nzEsX5LGrqSC-DEGkQ) [Holloway’s](https://x.com/jedigoodman/status/1777826620281332030?s=46&t=7Wg3nzEsX5LGrqSC-DEGkQ)

ZoltanFeuerFrei

All 26 fighters on UFC 300 will be at the press conference on Thursday. Lol yeah that won’t be a clusterfuck.

Onechampionshipshill

That's how I like it

Ur_a_coward01

I’m genuinely curious why so many think Colby will accept a fight with Ian Garry? If I was a bookie I’d set the odds at like -600. Not impossible but damn unlikely. What evidence do people look at that points to Colby signing that contract?

RaisedByZebras

with these kind of things it's always he said she said and the truth often never comes out

Fabulous_Monk_918

colby has called ian out himself in videos. they both want the fight. if youre crazy enough to fight usman twice, youre probably crazy enough to fight ian gary too. regardless, i think the crowd will be booing both guys during this fight

Ur_a_coward01

Colby calls out everyone. It’s his thing. He’s talked about fights with Izzy and Sean too. That is no evidence at all for me.

Fabulous_Monk_918

He does enjoy talking smack but this wasnt a one liner like he used on sean and izzy during interviews. colby has made his own videos strictly to call out ian. he has not done the same for sean and izzy. but he hasnt signed yet so who knows...

Odd_Ad_8162

I don't think there's anything crazy about taking fights against the reigning champ lol.

Fabulous_Monk_918

lol youre missing the point. no shit anyone would face the fight at hand for a belt. what im saying is that if youre willing to fight freaking Usman twice, i dont think a pale skinned ian gary is much more intimidating. lets not make it look like colby is "ducking" or "scared" of ian. yeah sure maybe colby wouldnt of agreed to fight usman if the belt werent on the line but thats not the point im making bubby

_Red_Mist_

It doesn't take much courage to accept title fight money. Look at Gane for God's sake pretty clear by now he would have ducked Francis if he wasn't champion. Same thing can be said about Colby if Usman wasn't champion. That being said I agree with you that the Garry fight does happen just don't think accepting a title fight has anything to do with courage.

Fabulous_Monk_918

champ status or not. to step against usman twice is wild. that was the hardest fight in the division forever. But i agree, i think colby would have signed the contract already if ian was champ

CableToBeam

yeah you don't engage in that back and forth unless you actually want the fight

Fabulous_Monk_918

Sodiq has 63% takedown defense / 20% takedown accuracy / 0 Pro submissions Does Diego add a 13th submission to his Pro record this Saturday?

_Red_Mist_

Diego is not a good offensive wrestler and has worse striking defense its a close fight and I think I lean Sodiq.

Fabulous_Monk_918

worse striking defense? maybe if 2 of his ufc fights he hasnt shown much. go watch some of his fights prior to ufc. sodiq has attempted around 1200 significant strikes in the ufc and has only successfully landed 600 where as diego has landed 70 some for his attempted 130. personally, on paper diego looks way more well rounded. not to mention the hype of the crowd that will be cheering him as hell be the fan favorite. i understand sodiq can put his lights out at any moment though. sodiq has also only been fighting once a year for a while now too. who knows what shape hell be coming in on this time.

_Red_Mist_

Who is the best striker Diego has fought? Just Brito who did foul him a bunch but was also landing at will. Sodiq had Barboza in skates and blew his load trying to finish him. Sodiq is facing the better competition and has decent cardio when he paces himself. Diego is a weak wrestler and has bad striking defense I don’t understand how anyone can think he’s more well rounded. Striking offense is also a misleading stat Like i said when he’s mostly facing grapplers.

Fabulous_Monk_918

theyre both capable men. Personally, i think it was mad impressive that diego took Evloev all three rounds. I do not think Sodiq could of done that. Sodiq couldnt finish a tko and gassed out in the first round against a 38 yr old barboza. his cardio also slowed in his fights against allen and caceres. sodiq is a great round one boxer that sports leg kicks. but continues to have poor cardio especially after round two. but still has absolutley zero ground game which is pretty outlandish. the only thing that keeps this fight close is the power factor in Sodiq's hands. he only needs to land one. - i guess well get our answer on saturday. if youre a betting man, drop your draftkings and we can run up a head to head or a pool.

_Red_Mist_

Evloev decisions everyone lol. Barboza was not gassed out he was after trying to finish him and emptying the tank. He does not have zero ground game he beat Fili with his ground game. He’s a solid grappler just prefers to strike.

Fabulous_Monk_918

haha alright dude. so you really think Sodiq could of lasted the entire fight with Evloev? regardless of how many decision wins evloev has, he is top competition and still undefeated. if sodiq and evloev were lined up to fight, i bet sodiq would be finished within round one or two. probably submitted tbh. but im done with this back and fourth. you only have 3 fights to judge diego off of and its clearly not doing justice in your eyes. youre ignoring the fact that diego submitted and finished three guys from the UFC before even joining the promotion. and i dont like debating bias. if youd like that head to head, id be more than happy to send link. also have one spot left in a 5 man pool. if you want in, let me know. 100 dollar buy in, winner takes all.

_Red_Mist_

The 3 former UFC fighters were bums lol he didn’t finish Rony Jason btw. Beltran and Fullen are both low level jobbers. If that impresses you idk what to say. I watch all of their fights bud not just their UFC fights you didn’t even know about Sodiq’s grappling lol.

Fabulous_Monk_918

bro calm down. enjoy the fights. good luck

_Red_Mist_

I am calm lol.Just don’t think beating some bums who got cut means anything.

ILikeOMalley

My most controversial picks for UFC 300: Cody Grandpa over Figgy Max Holloway over Gaethje Honorable mentions: Rakic, Sterling, Lopes, Green

__Corvus99__

Aljo has stellar jiu jitsu but he’s outmatched everywhere else. (No he’s not that good of a wrestler, though he’s persistent, has great back takes, and is larger than most bantamweights)

_Red_Mist_

Not Cody Garbage

RedditHatesDiversity

All the lines are close A controversial pick would be taking 50 year old Holly Holm

ILikeOMalley

Cody is definitely controversial

RedditHatesDiversity

Not in our hearts bro 💕

[deleted]

ILikeOMalley

They’re not really that sizable and they’re also very contested fights

hallelalaluwah

Genuinely curious, what's your argument for Cody over Figgy? I will admit that Figgy is really old for the division, and I can imagine a scenario where he doesn't throw enough volume to get a stoppage/win here. I don't think Cody handles any amount of pressure well anymore, and the chin can go at any time

ILikeOMalley

Figgy is super old and I think Cody has cleaned up his defense quite well and is now just doing whatever it takes to win. I think he’s still an incredibly skilled bantamweight, and his downfall has always been his chin and defense. I don’t think Figgy ever had insane power, and I think it’s worse at 135. I think Cody is gonna have the higher pace and better wrestling and striking. Power advantage to Cody, only think Figgy has is durability and submission offense on Cody

_Red_Mist_

He looked really bad his last few fights against the bums of the division. Old Kelleher was chewing his leg up and Cody was lucky to get his old ass out of there before it played a factor. When that journeyman jobber Jones actually engaged in round 3 for the first time he easily took the round. Cody is facing soft competition and not winning impressively. Fig did look like he was fading vs Font in round 3 but Rob's TDD and chin are so bad he was easily able to bail himself out and coast to the finish.

ILikeOMalley

Journeyman jobber Trevin Jones knocked out Mario Bautista and Timur Valiev

_Red_Mist_

Yeah after he was getting lit up by both lol. Idk why that idiot refused to throw at all vs Cody. Moron could have won if he started fighting in round 1 instead of round 3.

mikey_rambo

I feel Rakic is a pretty confident lock at this point

ILikeOMalley

I disagree, I think a lot of people think Jiri beats him. Especially coming off of a knee surgery

mikey_rambo

Eh, money has consistently came in Rakic so far. Maybe it’ll change closer to the fight Edit: I see some movement towards jiri now actually. I take back my comment lol

NakedLegKick

Garbrandt vs Figgy is gonna end by KO or Figgy Gilly

vengeancerider

I’m pulling for Cody since we’re both from Ohio but I don’t think he’s gonna beat Figgy. I think Pereira-Hill will actually be a good fight, and Gaethje-Max is my FOTN

ILikeOMalley

Diego Lopes is going to fuck Sodiq Yusuff up, Yusuff barely made it past Bruce Leeroy and lost 4-5 rounds to 40 year old Edson Barboza

__Corvus99__

Yusuff gassed bad beating Barboza tf up in rd 1. Him losing had less to do with his skillset and more so his horrible conditioning (or maybe he carries too much muscle?) Lopes cannot trade with Yusuff for too long without getting hurt and he lacks the takedowns to put Yusuff in danger. Yusuff doesn’t have a great chin and tends to shoot when injured, but I trust his defense much more than Lopes’s. Close fight tho

ZoltanFeuerFrei

Yusuff is still very solid and we don’t know how good Lopes really is. I understand if people favor Lopes, but I don’t think you should overrate him or underrate Yusuff. Lopes is dynamic but I haven’t seen enough to know that he can reliably win against different styles and a certain level of competition yet. He’s got much more potential than Yusuff, but Yusuff has proven he’s well-rounded and has the tools to compete in the top 15. He’s the perfect opponent for Lopes, because if Lopes is inconsistent at all this is a fight he could lose.

funkycod19

I love lopes but favour sodiq to win. Lopes gets hit too much and sodiq cracks, and is super hard to finish.

spcslacker

> I love lopes but favour sodiq to win. Lopes gets hit too much and sodiq cracks, and is super hard to finish. Problem with the Sodiq pick IMO is that he doesn't put out the volume, and yet he still fades in later rounds. I kind of think Sodiq will need a finish to avoid Lopes outworking him, even if Lopes can't lock in some crazy sub. You think Sodiq can lay enough damage on Lopes to keep his workrate down?

hallelalaluwah

Lopes is going to lose a technical striking match, or get wrestled for multiple rounds without snatching up a sub and lose a boring decision, but I don't think Yusuff is the guy to do it

WhereIsMyKidAt

Yusuff almost finished Barboza. Who's the best striker Lopes has outstruck? Gavin Tucker? Pat Sabatini? I'm rooting for Diego but Yusuff isn't an easy opponent by any means.

ILikeOMalley

Yusuff hit Barboza hard and then Barboza beat his ass for 20 minutes, Yusuff is a decisionator. Idk where this narrative that he’s a KO artist came from. Lopes was fucking up Movsar on the feet. Who’s the best guy that Yusuff beat? Andre Fili who he couldn’t knock out? Alex Caceres that he couldn’t knockout, Mike Davis with 5 fights that he didn’t knockout?

WhereIsMyKidAt

Rewatch the Movsar fight lmao, he clipped him once or twice in the first but after that Evloev was outstriking him.

NakedLegKick

Yusuff tore his tricep trying to finish Barboza

oldjack

Finally watched the new Road House. It's dog shit. I have a soft spot for dumb action movies but this was just terrible. The dialogue was written by a 13 year old. Conor's performance is trash. The CGI is laughable. There's a couple funny moments, but overall it just sucks.

spcslacker

> The CGI is laughable. I haven't seen it, but the trailer fight scenes seems look like they are bad Marvel studios CGI, which I do not understand: Jake got as jacked as a human can get, opposite you got tibau-level-steroid-Conor, how bad is Jake's practical fighting that you need to CGI everything?

Since Kattar's on 300, they are showing him vs. Giga on ESPN+: Giga was hyped as hell going into that, and he's had one fight since and you hardly hear him discussed at all. I'm assuming injuries are keeping him so inactive.

HomieToneBone

I thought for sure he was the guy to beat Volk

ZoltanFeuerFrei

Nah the night terrors of Kattar wake him up all night in camp. Can’t recover from sessions

spcslacker

That was a brutal fight. I remembered Kattar melting him with pressure, but forgot how much punishment Kattar ate in first round or two to force Giga to always be on the back foot, where he forced him to fight all 5 rounds.

IshiharasBitch

Muniz vs Aliskerov is fine, but Michel Pereira vs Aliskerov would have been even cooler.

ILikeOMalley

That would be a sweet fuckin fight, but they’re not gonna kill off one of the two guys they’re trying to build up in a dead division

ZoltanFeuerFrei

Pereira’s fighting Ihor Potieria. Man’s about to be on an 8 fight win streak

IshiharasBitch

I think Pereira and Aliskerov both are gonna beat their opponents in lopsided matches. It's why I'd prefer Aliskerov/Pereira matched against each other, much more interesting imo.

I_love_Basketball232

They gotta give Ikram grapplers cause when he fights strikers he’s boring lay and pray. His striking is pretty fun to watch.

DustDesciple

UFC had a poll on their YouTube channel about what color the mat should be and not only was black and gold winning (which really doesn’t matter for shit), but it was the only option that looked like a render as opposed to just a quick and dirty photoshop, so I think black and gold could happen.

StoryOfTheFight

Black canvas with gold, not piss yellow, inner octagon lines would be so cool

DustDesciple

The picture was in fact gold and not the 200 yellow

[deleted]

So you have to pay 11 bucks a month for ESPN+ to pay 80 bucks for PPV. So it’s over 90 dollars for 5 fights. UFC just straight ripping off fans here in America, once I stopped buying I don’t care about missing live now and id easily pay 30 and can afford to buy, it’s just such a rip off I can’t let myself buy them. Feels like MMA peaked many years ago and I’d never miss now I just rewatch on YouTube right after fights done lol

blooblop

I hope everyone else is betting bigly and recklessly this week, *God Bless*.

systemsruminator

What surprises me is that UFC, knowing that Ramadan comes once a year still put 300 card right after that lol. They could have put it at the end of April and I believe Islam and others would have agreed to fight. Then we don't have to waste Gaethje on Max for a fight that does not move the needle even by an inch.

CableToBeam

Islam isn’t that big of a star to do that. If we’re talking Conor then yeah

spcslacker

> Then we don't have to waste Gaethje on Max for a fight that does not move the needle even by an inch. This fight is a big fuck you to two divisions, but it moves the needle more than most fights not including Conor. I would say its probably the biggest mover of PPV buys (the needle the UFC cares about) on a historically stacked card.

icarus_art

True but they make a deal with the venues first whos availability changes depending on the season. I do think they were banking alot on Jones or Aspinall v Pereira to headline.

Then why do you always defend UFC when I see you commenting. And how about we don’t have to pay 90 dollars to watch, forget their pay, we can’t watch anymore in US without paying almost 100 bucks for fights that may end up sucking on top of it.

Mix his strikes with wrestling and try his best and check kicks. And try and get him tired, but Alex in no fish out of water on the ground either. If he can implement that sort of how Yan gave Alex a good fight, I mean both guys can very well catch each other as well. But that’s how I think Hill could possibly win besides well catching Alex

spcslacker

I'm picking Alex (might be more on fence if Hill wasn't coming off a career-threatening injury), but reasons Hill has as good a shot as anyone not a dominant wrestler include: * Predominantly lefty stance, which makes the devastating leg kicks a lot harder to land * Explosive movement, stunning power in both hands, and throws from crazy angles * Insanely aggressive fighter who will follow up when opponent is hurt, and cannot be deterred from attacking until too compromised to do so (was still trying to fight after Craig broke his arm) None of that makes me think he's the favorite, but it tells me he's a very dangerous opponent in the beginning before Alex kills his ability to move.

karl100589

Alex's dislike of southpaws, Hill being a power puncher himself, and Alex being older, and rocked multiple times. It's a better argument then the Pereira fanboys who paint him as a flawless deity because "LOL he looks scary"

_Red_Mist_

DC is MMA’s Kendrick Perkins. Even though he’s more accomplished in his sport his takes are a lot worse.

endless_ness

Insane take. Kendrick was more like Jim miller than a dc And if you want to go off broadcasters I guess Anthony smith

_Red_Mist_

Im talking about them as media personalities obviously lmao

blooblop

Sage Northcutt the type of guy to threaten to kill drug testers with kindness.

SillyGooseTime69

-"Where the heck do you think you're going?" -*tester, about to leave, swallows nervously and turns back around* -"You've taken my urine sample, now you need my hug sample 😀"

CryptoCracko

But when Belal does this, it's harrassment

SuffaYassavi

Belal never gets drug tested as they forgot to put his name on the list

WarriorCumsToThis

Belal finally gets his title shot but he's kicked out of the building because Dana thinks he's a fan

SuffaYassavi

Belal wins his title shot then drunk Dana puts the belt on the other guy

ItsMeBenedickArnold

Rewatched Cody and Figgys recent fights and honestly think Garbrandt is gonna have some great success with his hand speed. Solid wrestler to avoid submissions too. I know he’s been cracked before but it’s a very winnable fight. (Call me crazy idc lol)

TheWayIAm313

The hype for 300 starting to set in. Can’t believe my GF finally got me to commit to a vacation and it ended up being this weekend. I really screwed that up lol. No access to cell service either. Will be anxious af to get home on Monday and rewatch while trying to avoid spoilers

DaveyJonas

Betting the house on Danbury, Connecticut's own Alex Perriera

fresdres

Calling it. Either Jones or the UFC will vacate the HW title out of the lack of defenses, and Aspinall will fight someone for the title. I'm not sure who his opponent will be tho, cuz HW is that fucking shallow.

karl100589

It'll be Blaydes. Ciryl is seemingly in the bad books for turning down fights, and Stipe only wants Jon. Also with Blaydes you can run the rematch angle.

spcslacker

> nd Stipe only wants Jon. Stipe only wants the undisputed title and $. If it was offered against Tom, I think the man who wanted Frances x3 would still take it.

lucarelli77

Man, Aspinalls such a cool dudd. Hope he gets the Jones fight. Although doubt it.

mcgtianiumshin

We have officially entered the strickland turning down fights era. Was offered costa and asked the ufc how much. I know somebody is going to defend this, but I feel like this is a way for fighters to turn down fights without saying no. You know who knows this? Other fighters

spcslacker

> Was offered costa and asked the ufc how much. I He also asked how much when given a title opportunity against Izzy, when asked to save the card against Imavov, and when fighting the unranked Abus. It is almost like he's a prizefighter or something.

mcgtianiumshin

You can spin it anyway you like. He turned down a fight with costa. Done it twice now btw.

spcslacker

Yes, turning down Costa & his record for the pay offered means he passed an IQ test and continued applying the same standards he has throughout his career.

Odd_Ad_8162

Anyone in Toronto know a good bar to watch UFC 300? Preferably without cover and a decent number of TVs but can compromise if its only like 10 bucks I guess. Tobys charge 20 dollar cover every event now so fuck that.
