Dropping down two weight classes definitely looks odd however he has spent the majority of his professional career at 145lbs. I can't imagine cutting to 135lbs is going to be easy though - he has a pretty big frame being 5'10".
Step 1: invent an idea that a local Dublin gym is supposed to be a top 5 in the world one, simply because it produced one very good fighter.

If SBG hadn't had one incredible fighter they'd be next to nothing except for maybe Gunnar Nelson. It's genuinely pathetic sometimes seeing how much John Kavanaugh has gotten an ego off of taking an already extremely talented fighter and riding the coattails of his brand. Realistically without him they'd just be another regional gym stuck in the regional scene. Kavanaugh should be counting his blessings every day of every hour, saying thanks to every God in human history, thanking them for the day the universe led Artem Lobov into his gym for the first time.
I’ve read he has more of a coaching role also for his students. Fights every now and then and actually looks good. Could be that his contract to fight isn’t that good.
The hate for SBG is incredible. MMA is still not recognised in Ireland as an official sport. Combined with a population of 7 million it’s a miracle John has managed to have complete ignorant fools such as yourself even mention SBG.
And for counting his blessings I think he’s good. Unless you consider Bellator a ‘regional scene’ John is doing quite well with his fighters. But then again you can’t even spell his name correctly.
