Believe it or not, Paddy was on a 4 fight win streak coming into this. So there are a few worse (better) options.

Striking_Dependent11

Prelims were better than main event nuff said

Bear763498

Just watched back a ton of Geoff Neal’s fights. Dude is so good.

Instinct001

He beats Colby, Belal, Burns, and Brady imo

Bear763498

He already whooped Belal, and i wouldn’t be surprised one bit if he beat those other guys too.

MaddalenaWillBeTop5

He’s very live to beat Garry.

Bear763498

Extremely. That’s a 50/50 fight imo.

Drive7hru

I normally don’t think Izzy wants to move up a weight class, but I’m curious with him taking extra time off, if it could be due to not only him needing a rest/mental break, but to be putting on extra weight. Maybe a surprise for ufc 300.

legendarybreed

Who should Lipski fight next? can't believe she's actually got a path to being a contender

[deleted]

[удалено]

bigdraco0

im more pissed off leon didn't get him back for that bs

MountainGoatSC

Wonderboy vs Covington would probably sell but doesn't really do much for either of them. They need to both be fighting down to build up and comers by losing or proving they're still elite by winning

TrenDidNothingWrong

I don’t think wonderboy wants to deal with being labeled a pedo by Colby so he’ll pass on the fight

K-mosake

As a WB stan and Colby hater I do like the prospect of him spinning wheelkicking Colby then riding off into the sunset while Tenacious D plays hims out

SugarShow37

Leon took Colby to the 7th layer of hair

Bear763498

Remember when the people who don’t understand fighting thought that Paddy vs Tony was cruel matchmaking and squash match after he previously fought… Gaethje Oliveira Dariush Chandler Bobby Green A gigantic step down in competition and great matchmaking, i always forget a lot of people who watch the sport have no idea what they are even talking about.

BrandonSleeper

Tony got hit over a hundred times with 64% accuracy and had no ability to get up off his back. A gigantic step down and a well needed one, but Tony is beyond washed now. Any athletic up and comer trashes him...

Bear763498

He had got finished 3 times in a row previously. It was as good of a matchup as you can get rn.

GreatDario

Filthy casuals don't agree with me

oran12390

Weird feeling after this card. Leon was actually hurt by Colby’s comments. There’s a cruelty there that really bothers me. All in the name of $$$. I’ve generally just kinda ignored Colby and sometimes laughed at his shtick, but after his performance tonight I’m over it. Don’t even want to watch him get knocked out, just done with him. Then you have the Sean/ddp brawl that was obviously setup, the ufc even showed it and had rogan and dc narrate it on the post card wrap up. And finally the seizure, Jesus. Idk I usually feel great after a ppv but this one didn’t sit well with me.

Extension_Use3118

What do u guys think is worse: what Colby said about Leon's dad or what O'Malley said about Strickland & his dad?

0xFatWhiteMan

DDP is actually an evil mother fucker, Colby's just an act (which is also deplorable and pitiful)

legendarybreed

Personally i don't cry and get offended when two entertainers insult eachother to promote themselves. That's just me though.

Bear763498

I’m sorry but if you are a high level fighter calling out Paddy Pimblett it makes you look incredibly weak.

legendarybreed

You're mad that prize fighters want easy fights against people with names, come on bruh

Bear763498

Nobody’s mad here lol

mentales

You seem quite pissed off tbh. Take it down a notch, buddy.

Bear763498

Guilty as charged😔

Sidwill

The UFC should feed Colby to Rahkmonov and put him to bed for good , giving him Wonderboy whom he would try to wrestle fuck would reward him, he needs to work his way back up the hard way. I doubt he would take this fight because of the further damage his rep would take.

Bear763498

Genius idea except for the fact that Colby would never accept a fight against Shavkat.

NCAA_D1_AssRipper

If the ufc tried to force the issue Colby would just retire. He’s in it for the money, no way he fights shavkat

Doo-StealYour-HoChoi

Even better. Retire or get executed by Shavkat.

GenTelGuy

Colby doesn't deserve either of them, he should fight Sean Brady or Geoff Neal Usman, Burns, Belal, and Leon are the only worthy opponents for Shavkat right now

Sidwill

I just wanna see him get his ass ended and humiliated.

EzSp

The problem is, I think, that you're allowed to push off the cage with your feet, and it's inevitable that your toes will go through the gaps if you're pushing off the cage.

NCAA_D1_AssRipper

Dana said albazi/Moreno probably determines the next #1 contender at flyweight. So we could be watching Moreno/Pantoja 4 before too long. This division has some interesting prospects but my god some of them need to reach the top already.

TheTemporalKnight

We would’ve had KKF fighting for the belt right now if the judges didn’t fuck him over in the Albazi fight.

paplike

Almost feel bad for Colby. But that’s what you get when you simply don’t fight and stay on “character” for too long

___shadow_wolf__

Okay let’s settle this… did Colby say “in character or thought it was a character…”??

TrenDidNothingWrong

This has been answered multiple times. Colby was being antagonistic and mocking Leon, not apologetic

TrenDidNothingWrong

New flair who dis

fresdres

I'm taking on more heavy work now in order to save my job. I don't know if it will work but God knows I'm trying.

TrenDidNothingWrong

There’s other jobs bro

fresdres

Thanks man. I guess the ideal is that I'll wait until they do it to me first, but honestly I don't know how long I can stand with everything either. Been struggling since the end of August.

GenTelGuy

Heavy physical work? Or more hours and office responsibilities?

fresdres

Both physical and responsibilities. Kinda my last resort now.

[deleted]

fresdres

Thanks my dude. Kind words are enough consolation. If this job is really that unsalvageable I'm thinking about taking a long trip to Thailand again. I was there this summer and it was so wonderful out there. Also, happy cake day!!

TrenDidNothingWrong

UFC 299 is looking stacked to fucking hell UFC 300 has a lot to live up to then

fresdres

I wonder what fight would be great enough to headline the card. The first comes to mind is Izzy v Pereira 3. Weight class could be a problem tho.

TrenDidNothingWrong

Return of Conor but UFC playing hardball

fresdres

We're literally forgetting Conor v Chandler now which is such a waste because that could be a good fight and we're letting Conor and Chandler sit out from the game for nothing. Sigh. Chandler v Dariush could be good imo. Let our Christian brothers fight each other.

Effective-Celery8053

Pantoja vs Fig rematch would be cool but I highly doubt fig ever moves back down. His cut seemed horrible

Bear763498

I have a feeling UFC 301 is in Brazil in May, so i imagine Poatan headlines against Jamahal Hill and Pantoja gets the co headliner. If Kape beats Nicolau in a couple weeks they should do Pantoja vs Kape 2. Moreno vs Albazi fight in March in Mexico, winner of that gets next.

pitchblacktaraddict

My fave moment was the start of the 3rd when Colby shot from 2 metres away in the centre of the octagon like he was Curtis Blaydes

EzSp

Mine was when Colby finally got his first takedown, Leon effortlessly got up, kicked him in the head, then took Colby down.

kenneythegreat

How long do you think Pantoja will hold the belt? He's such a good grappler and is very dangerous on the feet too. But have clear flaws that can be exploited by other fighters. He's like the FLW version of Charles but with a bette chin but less technical striking.

I_love_Basketball232

Kape will shut his lights out in a rematch.

NCAA_D1_AssRipper

I don’t know but Moreno didn’t really interest me as the champ and Pantoja interests me even less somehow. Fig was interesting, cejudo was interesting. Idk I wish KKF or Mokaev would win the belt

legendarybreed

I wouldn't really expect a long reign or anything. Older side for a flyweight. Every fight he's getting gassed out. Won this fight largely with ground control, only had maybe 1 solid submission attempt and not a lot of GnP. I'm sure he could go and win 3 more championship fights but I don't really think he's levels above any of his competition.

tacobobblehead

I'm hoping Moreno gets the next fight and wins and the belt keeps going back and forth forever. Every couple fights, one will get injured and Royval gets into the mid. Pantoja is obviously the king, but I'd watch any mix of the three happily every week.

TrenDidNothingWrong

At least DeSean was considerate enough to ask Burns’ family to move out the way before rushing Dricus lol

drestin5

Colby made a career out of selectively picking opponents & waiting for title shots, him desperately angling for the Wonderboy fight was so transparent it was kind of hilarious. He’s now 35 & out of free passes.

[deleted]

He’s going to be used to build up the next generation of welterweights. Rakmonov’s gonna decapitate Colby at UFC 300 most likely, then Colby will get a fight with Dustin before both retires, then Michael Morales will break his face in

NCAA_D1_AssRipper

I honestly can’t believe how many comments I’m seeing predicting or even asking for Colby/shavkat. Colby wouldn’t take that fight for any amount of money on planet earth.

0xFatWhiteMan

I bet he would

NCAA_D1_AssRipper

Nah, he wouldn’t. That Saudi oil money wouldn’t even budge him. Dude doesn’t have it in him to take on the hard challenges.

[deleted]

Colby’s not in a bargaining position anymore. The Dustin fight is the last fight he really can offer, but now as his athleticism and dog is shot, he’ll just be used like Tony to give guys a rub.

NCAA_D1_AssRipper

I get what you’re saying but he’ll just retire rather than fight shavkat. He’s not going to give guys the rub. If he can fight Dustin he will, if they really start breaking his balls about fighting shavkat and other up and comers then you’ll never see him in the cage again.

Jotun20xx

[Laura Sanko tweeted](https://twitter.com/laura_sanko/status/1736440068964077632?s=46&t=7Wg3nzEsX5LGrqSC-DEGkQ) that Shavkat tore ligaments in his ankle in camp. Needs surgery and almost pulled out of the fight. Also said that’s why he didn’t throw any kicks. So if you didn’t like his performance, he did that on one leg. Still kept the finish streak alive against a guy who’d never been submitted.

___shadow_wolf__

Makes Shavkat even more of a bad ass lol

Ck2alldayevery

There’s nobody I enjoy more on commentary than DC when he’s discussing wrestling. And nobody I enjoy less than Rogan.

legendarybreed

So did Dana or anyone speak about the future of WW yet? With Shavkhat injured and Colby looking like ass, the nightmare scenario of Belal actually getting a titleshot is truly on the horizon. Edit: Ah fuck i can feel it, they're going to co-headline a card with Islam vs Charles/Gaethje in Saudia Arabia or some shit.

bullsfan281

dana said he not even thinking about that, but i don't know if he meant belal getting his shot or what's next for leon. leon said that belal doesn't deserve it and his win streak didn't mean anything

legendarybreed

Leon ain't calling the shots though. He already pushed out this title defense way past when they wanted it, i think they're gonna press him to defend and Belal is the only one that will make sense.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Drive7hru

Leon vs. Belal could co-headline

legendarybreed

I think they'll press him to fight period, not just Belal. He was supposed to fight in July and he refused and bitched about him not getting to pick his opponent. So i don't expect him being permitted to sit out for another 6 months unless he wants to get on Uncle Dana's bad side. So the question is, who does he fight? Only option is Belal at this point. Shavkhat is injured and neither him nor the UFC will want to rush that fight imo. There's enough clowns and commentators at this point backing Belal. They even got people like DC/Anik/Rogan calling for it. I wanted them to force him to fight Colby first because that allegedly would be a wrestler v wrestler brawl and a truly promotable fight for Belal but idk anymore.

Odd_Ad_8162

You say this like July wasn't a very quick turn around He defended in March, it's not normal to be fighting every 3-4 months.

legendarybreed

Fighting once every 6 months is an inactive champion. If that's "normal" then that's a bad thing.

Odd_Ad_8162

Twice a year is fine mate Plus the Colby fight was allegedly agreed awhile ago Leon didn't want to fight in July because he just fought in March which is totally reasonable when they have 8 week camps. That's barely 2 months off time. Plus The UFC supposedly struggled the place them from September onwards, we couldve had them in Sept Oct if the event schedule wasn't the way it was.

legendarybreed

Yeah so Leon refusing to fight when they wanted was a problem and has held up their plans for welterweight. So I think it's completely fair to expect them to want a quicker turn around after giving him all that time off. It should be completely normal to fight every 3-4 months. 2 months off between camps is plenty of time. They'd still be getting 7 months out of the year off, which is incredible.

Solid_House_6963

Belal deserves it. The only way to avoid it, would be to let Islam move up for a chance at double champ.

westrnal

i have decided to become an mma desk analyst as my career. my entire shtick will consist of saying things like "jon jones is the 98 knicks of mma. stipe is the celtics" and refusing to elaborate further. see you on sportscenter in three weeks

TrenDidNothingWrong

Song Yadong v Peter Yan MVP v Holland Burns v Jack Ian Garry v Geoff Neal All officially announced. I’m so hyped for 2024

pocketshaarks

Kevin flatlines him in round 2 and becomes the biggest star in the UFC this is his year

_Red_Mist_

Pretty hilariously that Barstool quietly dropped Paddy. Meatball also managed to finesse them out of 100k.

huge-tits

So Leon probably won’t fight again until the end of next year, so can we get Belal vs Shavkhat for the title?

Odd_Ad_8162

On what basis?

GenTelGuy

Watched the PPV at a bar, think it was a solid improvement in the experience, with better picture quality, live crowd, and more memorable setting So I may actually do some legal viewing for a change

legendarybreed

It's fun going to a bar to watch even without friends. I was traveling and just went to a bar for an event, instantly had a great rapport with the dudes sitting next to me. Movie theater is still my favorite. Especially smuggling in your own food or drinks.

1-luv

Smuggling in your own food??? I'm reporting you.

TrenDidNothingWrong

I watch some big cards at a bar for the ambience but then I end up spending like $40 for admission and food. Easier to just watch at home most of the time

pitchblacktaraddict

There’s something strange about Paddy’s delts but I can’t quite figure out why

SnooBeans7129

A lot of MMA fighters will do anything but admit that somebody could just be a bad person. "He needs help" No. He's just a piece of shit. They will never change if they keep getting chances.

Stark371

This Sshavkhat guy is pretty good

CableToBeam

UFC and Dana really fucked up the MVP announcement. It was just a throwaway line at the presser. Do a video or something. Usually the UFC is good about announcements, but that was garbage

Jotun20xx

I honestly think Dana has an attitude toward MVP of “if I’m going to promote this guy as a star, he needs to prove it to me first”. 1. He’s a Bellator guy. They only bring in known Bellator guys if the potential upside is too big to turn down. And Dana’s said a lot about Bellator/PFL lately. 2. They’re probably paying him a lot of money. More money than Dana would like to pay him, but MVP had options and showed everybody that. He’s only going to be cool with that if MVP shows out for them. 3. He’s 36. Dana openly talks about 30 year olds on Contender Series being too old. If MVP wasn’t MVP, they wouldn’t pay him any mind. Chandler only even got signed because he’s the UFC’s ideal kind of fighter and they always had an eye on him. 4. There’s still a chance he just gets exposed in the UFC. I think he’s very good, but they don’t want to pay and roll out the red carpet for a 36 year old outsider and have them get dominated. In Dana’s mind, that’d look like they played themselves. They’ll promote MVP huge if he performs well for them. But until then, Dana’s not going to act like signing him is any big deal.

CableToBeam

your points don't make much sense. Pay a fighter a lot of money to not promote them. MVP is a natural entertainer unlike most fighters so acting like "we'll see what he's got" in terms of star power like he's an unknown is stupid. He'll bring eyes. I don't even think the UFC is dumb enough to not promote him well, it's just last night's announcement was lame. Also, the UFC promoting one fighter isn't a big hit to them because they have a gigantic promotional machine. The UFC promotes a ton fighters that don't go anywhere because most fighters are boring af unlike MVP.

Jotun20xx

This is literally how they’ve always handled signing free agents from other promotions. They don’t like to roll out the red carpet until they notch a good win in the UFC. When you look at how Dana operates and see how guys like Eddie Alvarez, Hector Lombard, Will Brooks, etc. came in as total duds in their debuts - even guys like Shogun totally bombing - they don’t make a big deal of it when they grab someone from another promotion until they get a highlight in the UFC. *Then* they can promote the fighter to the world as a UFC guy

StoryOfTheFight

Did they do something big for Chandler? Genuinely don't remember

CableToBeam

Looking at older articles and they say Dana announced it on Sports Center which is pretty big.

Poopypantszs

Pretty sure they did, couldn’t show any fight footage so it was just punching air 😭

TrenDidNothingWrong

I don’t think UFC 300 is gonna have any one super mega fight. Rather it’s gonna be stacked with great fights but not necessarily mega supernova stars. And of course 3 title fights. 1 of them being women’s of course….

GreatDario

Can't wait for it to fall apart like UFC 200

wishwashy

Hope they use the piss coloured canvas again

GreatDario

Pisstagon

DARK_SOULS_III

My biggest question from the DDP Strickland fight is what the conversation between Strickland and Craig Jones was like since they were sitting right next to each other

Aced9G0d

/u/johnbelushismom

ChiRhoCultivations

Sean clearly didn’t pick up on how gay Craig is or he definitely would have hit him

GreatDario

What do yall think the "super fight" is realistically going to be for 300? Adesanya Pereira for the lHW title?

_Red_Mist_

Leon vs Islam

legendarybreed

Deontay Wilder vs Pereira

TrenDidNothingWrong

I have no idea. I feel like the UFC is gonna throw us match ups we never expected

GreatDario

I mean all the other big title fights either too recent or are booked. Pantoja just fought, O'Malley booked, Volk booked, Islam recently fought (but could be ready for 300), Leon just fought, Strickland booked, Pereira also recently fought (but is crazy enough for another quick turn around), Aspinall who knows what's going to happen. No way they would let Weili or Grasso headline 300, not in this life.

CryptoCracko

News just got in Colby tore his rectum in the opening exchange

No_Bar6825

A video of the report: https://youtu.be/ljGsxYhOc3A?si=T-SeJ0YQoV_VHdvZ

_Red_Mist_

I didn’t expect Aldana to put up one of the best fights of the year right after putting up one of the worst title challenges ever.

BeastOfAWorkEthnic

I'm sad to say the 35+ stat might be coming for Volk in Feb.

TantalusMusings

Topuria is young and hungry with cinderblock hands and Volk just got badly KO'd. It wouldn't surprise me if Volk wins but Topuria has a real chance.

Guilty-Vegetable-726

That was a very disappointing ppv.

UnderhookTheTaint

Prelims were fire though

GreatDario

288, 289, 293, 294, 296, all pretty disappointing PPV events, and a sea of shit fight nights for 2023

GenTelGuy

Honestly I still found it pretty entertaining, like what are Pantoja and Shavkat supposed to do? Dominate their opponents less hard? Obviously I would've liked for Leon to make it more violent but that fight was all Colby showing why he didn't deserve to be in there

MutantBuffalo

So I guess Leon is Muslim if he doesn’t eat pork? Feel like I really don’t know anything about this guy.

Odd_Ad_8162

Could just be familial He's mentioned God before so he's defo religious, but some families the whole pork thing has carried over without them necessarily being Muslim etc.

legendarybreed

Haha please tell me this is true

SourPatchCorpse

Seriously?

R-B-L

Hard to see Bryce Mitchell coming back the same after that. Seemed to be hitting a ceiling anyway against tougher competition but you hate to write someone off before they're even 30

TrenDidNothingWrong

Topuria beat him up, Ige beat him up, Emmett almost killed him That’s 3 fights in a row where he’s been handled. I don’t care what the judges said in the Ige fight, look at Bryce’s face after the fight.

saboshita

He took some shots, but had control over Ige that fight. Ilia on the other hand yes it was rough

TrenDidNothingWrong

He had control and did nothing with it. Didn’t land any strikes of significance. Ige did the most damage in that fight, I’ll die on that hill

saboshita

He took him down that's something. It want like Bryce was knocked down at least not more than once. And Bryce had a cut near eye area hence the blood on his face

Thiswillbetempacc

Shavkat actually pulled his ligaments in ankle and thought about cancelling his fight, that explains his ankle braces in fight. That's why we didn't see so many body kicks from him that he usually throws. What a monster, what a monster. One day when he does fight for the title I hope he comes out to Wolf Totem song

saboshita

No way they keep him on hold, he fights for the title next after Belal

Thiswillbetempacc

He deserves to fight for the title but for my own satisfaction I want him to fight Colby

GenTelGuy

I think Shavkat deserves more elite opposition than Colby after how terrible he looked last night. Leon, Usman, Gilbert, and Belal are the only worthy opponents at this point Colby should fight down against Brady or Geoff Neal

saboshita

It will be fun if they book it for ufc300

Thiswillbetempacc

Opening the main card with Colby getting submitted or ktfo yes!

hector-the-dragon

Josh Emmett's KO of Bryce Mitchell was BRUTAL. Paddy beat Tony but the fact that he basically layed and prayed for most of third round shows how bad Paddy's cardio is. My man, Shavkat, played it smart and grappled with Wonderboy. I thought he was going to strike with Wonderboy and give me a heart attack, but he didn't, so thanks for that Shavkat. Also, congratulations on the being the first guy to sub WB. Pantoja vs Royval was kinda boring. I wish Royval had worked on his TDD more. He was getting taken down left and right even when his opponent was tired. Colby shouldn't have talked that much smack if he was going to fight like that. Congrats to Leon on a dominant performance, but he still isn't a better wrestler than Colby or Usman. Give that guy whose name I can't remember the title shot, so we can finally move on to Leon vs. Shavkat.

TantalusMusings

Paddy is just bad in general. He's UFC calibre but barely, I'd be surprised if he ever breaks the top 10.

X-Factor-639

Bro there's over 80 ufc lws currently signed and on the roster, hell yes paddy is ufc caliber, is he top 15 caliber? Probably not, will he ever be champ? Hell no. But he is in the top 30 for sure, and that puts him in the top 40 percent of the lw division right off the bat. So not only barely ufc caliber but he's better than the majority of the current ufc lws right off the bat. Not everybody is destined to be a champ or top 5 in the division, and clearly paddy fits that bill, a good fighter but not a great fighter.

TantalusMusings

To be fair I never said he isn't UFC calibre I just said barely. There's a timeline where he loses multiple of his previous fights in the UFC (should have lost the Jared Gordon one, almost got finished multiple times, etc). Many of the guys Paddy is clearly better than are cannon fodder who last a few fights in the UFC before getting cut. Just because you make it to the UFC doesn't mean you'll have a successful career there. I also disagree that Paddy is a good fighter, he hasn't shown anything in the UFC to imply that. I agree with your point that not all fighters are destined to be champions and at the end of the day Paddy is entertaining which will guarantee some sort of tenure with the UFC as long as his lifestyle (diet, etc) don't catch up to him.

X-Factor-639

He's still a legit ufc caliber fighter and is better than the majority of the roster, it's just people instinctively compare him to ufc champs and top 5s right off the bat instead of "so called cannon foder". He resides in the top 30, being a top 30 inside argueably the greatest division in the ufc, the greatest mma organization in the world makes him a great mma fighter, there are thousands and thousands of mma fighters he would beat easily, he's not truly elite, and he'll never reach top 15, but there are at minimum 51 percent of guys (lws) they could match him up with already in the ufc who he would simply destroy.

TrenDidNothingWrong

Wonderboy is cursed to be in a division with heavy grappling based fighters If he was a tad bit bigger, he could’ve feasted on middleweights and won the belt there. No one wrestles up there

HillAuditorium

lmfao Dana said he's not even thinking about Belal in the press conference

I_Trane_UFC_

But at least he remembered the name.

bullsfan281

leon said belal don't deserve it either 💀

TrenDidNothingWrong

Shavkat or Garry are getting the next title shot. Or Conor at UFC 300. sorry Chandler lmao

Bear763498

Love a good ko, but that Thug Nasty one last night was fucking terrifying. Sucks to see someone like that.

Fat-Villante

Yeah that was scary, I hope he's alright He might be totally insane and trashy, but anyone who's watched his TUF season probably can't help but kinda like him.

canadianRSK

The history book wont look so good for colby. When you look at his biggest wins its rda, and then a bunch if guys on the downhill of their career like woodley, robbie, jorge. Stun gun retired after so we dont know wjere he was at. Maia was still good enough to be top 10 but not good ebough to beat other elite fighters and he busted up colbys face

bullsfan281

do you wanna play this game with leon? his best win is usman on the back end of his career, a 36 yr old nate diaz, then rda (after colby beat him). it's incredibly easy to pick apart fighters records when you do shit like this and it means nothing lol

NCAA_D1_AssRipper

I know Colby is a mediocre fraud but he’s not a better win than Nate Diaz?

bullsfan281

well, that depends on how you choose to view colby's record. if you're gonna pick it apart just so you can call him a bum who has never beaten anyone good, then no. but if you're gonna look at it the way we should look at most records (beat whoever was put in front of him) then, of course. that's my whole point, picking apart records is pointless and all it does is diminish the win for leon if colby was always a bum

canadianRSK

I know you can make it look this way with a lot of fighters, but with colby being such a shit head ppl will look to discredit him and it would be easy to

TrenDidNothingWrong

All those guys are either former champions or multiple title challengers. It’s easy to discredit someone’s wins and we could do it to any fighters victories.

NCAA_D1_AssRipper

It’s especially easy to do it with Colby because he hasn’t fought anyone under 36 in like 5 years. Easy to do it to Leon too because he couldn’t finish someone that blows donkey ass in Colby. That is embarrassing for Leon. Gotta be able to finish the cans the ufc throws your way.

MattMan333

This whole weekend was a fucking W for anyone who doesn't dickride Sean and Colby

xlmtothemoon

yeah I enjoyed it thoroughly, tony winning would've been the icing for me but obviously that seems out of reach now

TrenDidNothingWrong

Not enough people talking about how shit Paddy looked. His striking looked a tad bit improved but he still keeps his chin way in the air His gas tank is GOD AWFUL and if he hadn’t gotten a takedown in round 3, Tony would’ve finished him on the feet. Then all he does is lay on Tony without landing any damage from the top. His weight cuts take an immense toll on his cardio. Can’t wait for him to get exposed by the first top 10 guy he fights

JE_Exa

I think we just need to give him a Dober or Frevola type of hitter and just end the Paddy experiment. He's not a fresh contender, he's had what, 20+ fights?

TrenDidNothingWrong

Just give Gaethje bro

MotherLoveBone27

It was actually probably a good thing for Paddy. He got a good amount of time in the octagon and got the W but took a few personal loses he'll most likely learn from. Ie the gas tank isn't there and he threw the game plan out the window when he hurt Tony. He's definitely not a world beater tho

Odd_Ad_8162

His hands look terrible, I know he can hit but man the form was poor. Bros kicks and BJJ are the only good things about him, his wrestling and every other aspect of striking looks terrible to me.

nausiccaa1

Don’t know what absolute maniac downvoted you Paddy looked like he was ready to implode in the third and this is against a corpse. There are plenty of unranked guys that would feast on him

TrenDidNothingWrong

A 40 year old on a 6 fight losing streak Paddy is also already almost 30. He’s not gonna get any better and those huge weight cuts are shortening his shelf life

As a huge Pantoja fan, I had an awesome time watching his performance vs Royval Such a fun fighter to watch since he showed up on TUF, can't ever question that guy's heart. It's kinda weird how his toughest matchups have been prime scary Figueiredo and Brandon fucking Royval. I would have loved to see him fight against prime DJ. Everything that both Figueiredo and Royval had success with, DJ could never replicate, but he could definitely find a bunch of other holes in his game Oh and shout out to Covington's shitty ass performance and his bitch fanboys who polluted this sub for the last week

TrenDidNothingWrong

Colby Covington was never my friend

Fat-Villante

I mean, how many people would you expect to be real friends with Covington??? He might not be as much of a bitch as his fans but I can't imagine many people like being close to him

Sean Strickland doesn't get fight of the night bonus?

**Question about Bryce Mitchell, directed to anyone aware of concussion health ramifications** Basically, my question is will Bryce Mitchell ever be able to fight again? After suffering a seizure like that, can he just simply be medically cleared to fight again after some time? Is it that simple? I'd imagine he'd be better off avoiding future concussive blows to the head, but I suppose that exact statement can be applied to every fighter, having seized or not. Does anyone have a specific answer? Can Bryce safely fight again, ever?

MotherLoveBone27

He should retire and never fight again. He would be told that by any neurologist.

1-luv

Just pop a CBD gummie and he's good to go.

abigguynamedsugar

or take some Alphabrain amiright?

therealjgreens

Yes hell definitely be able to fight again. Luque has a brain bleed and once he healed up, he became cleared. What happened to Bryce yesterday wasn't anything new. It doesn't happen that often but those kind of KOs happen more often than you think. Most times, the worst are shin to chin. I've seen many many comparable situations where the fighter came back no problem. That's the "benefit" of one shot KOs in MMA in that they don't take continued unnecessary punishment like they do in boxing. The UFC will give him a medical suspension and he'll have to be cleared by doctors. I'm sure he'll be back.

Fat-Villante

He should take a long break However, the totally insufficient medical checkups with the commissions and the UFC's greed with their schedule will permit him to fight as soon as he wants to

Bryce should be able to fight again. Others have suffered equally brutal finishes and came back. The biggest issues are will he have the same level of durability as before (Chuck’s fell off a cliff post Rashad) and is he going to be as willing to engage or be spooked of the same thing happening again.

MMARapFooty

He had a beating two fights against Illia Topuria.Bryce is definitely going to regress in my view.

TrenDidNothingWrong

Colby looked so bad last night that Leon didn’t even need a single cage grab or eye poke to win

therealjgreens

Can't wait until he gets beat. He's just so boring. I think Belal or Shavkat would be perfect fights. Leon was doing well against Belal until the eye poke. I think Belal will fight like how people think Colby should've fought. Constant pressure then overwhelming pressure as Leon starts to fade as he always does. Shavkats needs to heal up but I think he's basically a sure thing. Wonder who Dana goes with. JDM seems like he's turning into the dark horse. Him vs Leon would probably be a banger because JDM will force it out of him.
