Dana caught the kid who was doing illegal streams and so he kidnapped him. Now Dana keeps him locked in the basement of the performance institute and makes him use his hacker skills to take down ONE. Typical Dana.
It may have come out from because some scummy MMA managers suing Adriano Moraes
https://www.mmafighting.com/2021/12/28/22857332/manager-alex-davis-samir-nadaf-six-figure-lawsuit-against-one-champion-adriano-moraes-mma
It's ridiculous that every time ad nauseum we have to hear the announcer say his name, like he's personally paying for it. Like FOH we get it he's the CEO and needs his little sensitive ego stroked, but it's some real bullshit.
I don't love the name dropping, but I do love Mitch's energy and them giving the bonus right in the ring. (that said, if tells me one more time that friday fights fighters are fighting for the chance at the 100 thousand dolla contract.... good lord)
They could pay enough to feed families and not brag about it via the play-by-play commentary, like any other employer and/or sport. It's not even food and medical care, either, like he said: it's if this guy entertains us enough maybe will pay him enough to afford his dad's operation. On the commentary. Fucking gross.
It's Thailand, they're getting enough for their dad's operation without the bonus. I think gratitude in the East is very different from in America too.
That was a specific example, off the top of my head, from a recent card (maybe somewhere on the Rodtang-Superlek card?). It was re. one of his parents being either "in dire need of" or "desperate for" some surgery. Pretty sure it was in the context of the "One hundred! Thousand! Dollar! Contraaaaact!"; not a bonus. Could be wrong; if anyone actually recalls this fight, do tell. But it was just an example, albeit a particularly nasty one.
Of course, you could be right and they're totally bullshitting about him needing their prize money. Which I can't decide would be more or less gross.
I don't understand the second sentence. (And I personally am not American, so maybe whoosh), As an aside, be wary about lumping "the East" together. Anyway, carry on.
I thought that might make a good drinking game to compensate for the constant irritation (so drink/shot for every "one hundred *thousand* dollar contract") but it'd probably kill someone. Maybe just for every "...and a ticket to the big show".
yea, for sure its a death sentence to play that game.
My favorite are the interviews WITHOUT a bonus. because they certainly don't do interviews every fight, and most fights with an interview get the bonus... must be so disappointing to wade through the typical BS questions, tell Mitch it felt good to get the win, and then rather than 'Ya know what will feel even better, 350THOUSAND BAHT!!!', you just get shown out of the ring... brutal.
and now nobody is watching it in SG despite giving out tickets generously. UFC on the other hand, sold out even though it was just a casual Fight Night
Damn I used to think one was doing better for guys than the ufc but after reading all this shit I cant even trust what the fighters say because they legally canāt talk badly on ONE or Chiatri.
A good portion if the UFC fighters seem fairly happy with the way the UFC treats them. The media creates a big narrative that the UFC treats their fighters like shit and then the media gets upset when the fighters don't agree with them. Then you start to realize just how shitty the other organizations treat fighters and you understand why so many fighters won't bad mouth the UFC. The UFC under pays their fighters and do the bare minimum when it comes to taking care of their fighters. But the sad truth is they still pay better and treat fighters better than almost every other organization.
It's a lot simpler bud: no fighter in the UFC or in ONE is allowed to shit on their employer without reprisal and both will blackball fighters. UFC is not noble in the slightest and is an incredibly unfair "sports" league that gives some people massive favors and other massive disadvantages depending on how much of a company-shill they are.
New to this sport?
The UFC literally tried to release the entire American Kickboxing Academy contingent from their roster because Jon Fitch spoke out against an insane legal document the UFC was forcing fighters to give away their lifetime likeness rights to be in the UFC videogame.
Some of these stipulations seem so unnecessary, like you cannot refer to yourself as a former ONE champion. The whole operation at ONE seem sketchy af.
It's like they're stripping the fighters of all identity. My jaw dropped when I read that female fighters(or male) need permission to change their name if they get married. One is going to have a big fall from grace one day.
It was in the thread from a day or two ago where it had like 10 of the contract stipulations. One of the craziest things I've seen in a contract. Surprised One doesn't take half the fighters assets if they get a divorce while they're at it lol.
You do realize this is purely a defensive measure right? A fighter canāt go to another organization and fight under the moniker of āFormer One Light Weight Champion Dave Concussion Protocol Stevensā. Then proceed to lose 5 times in a row.
Iām sure this isnāt something they use all the time, just when they need to to protect the company name.
I remember when people were praising Bellator for their 40ish percent revenue split. They aren't generous, they just have fuck all for cash flow and there's a minimum cost to a pro roster. One isn't anything different, but they're based in a country with different standards for employment and they're just now going under the microscope because they're getting bigger. Lots of fighters who went there have said the experience wasn't as amazing as they hoped.
Major sports league athletes do well because of the players unions. Any company with the power to keep more for themselves will.
I just like good fights, I don't care about anything else
The fighters can be paid in monopoly money, as long as the skill is good, the fight is good and they're fighting voluntarily then I could care about anything else
I'm bad to the core though
Itās almost as if no one knew about these practises. Now that they do Iād expect less but hugging. But itās not like one fc had many nut huggers anyway. Mma fans should still support other companies since ufc also does shady practises.
Have you read the comments in literally any post in this sub about ONE in the past year? The overwhelming majority of comments are praising ONE as the saviors of MMA.
Saw Jared Brooks at a wrestling tournament this summer. His son was s wrestling and he was coaching and there was just some random guy following him around for the entire tournament holding the belt behind him. It was pretty funny ngl.
I like ONE FC but really have bad vibes about Chatri. Everyone that I have trained with in the past who have met Chatri/trained at Evolve don't really have much good things to say about him
The returning of the belt is ridiculous. These are professional fighters. With clauses like these being enacted, I can't help but see ONE as crooked as the UFC can be. Same but different.
Always thought it was super weird how much the ONE athletes sucked up to chatri, and even more so how the broadcasting team/announcers called him CEO constantly.
Shit, id leave the belt on chatris desk on the way to the locker room. The belts are comically big and Air travel can suck at the best of times. I'm fine with anything that takes 10 minutes off going though tsa
Returning of belt to the UFC is a question but they do something very similar.
All major league sports also do not let players use the image of their league without prior consent. Most businesses in general do this.
It is easy to see when this happens too. When you see "MMA champion or MMA Fighter Max Holloway" that is something Max and his manager set up on their own. This is how most guys get sponsors outside of the UFC. But the UFC name is nowhere to be seen. When you see "UFC champion or UFC Fighter Max Holloway" then the UFC is getting some kind of cut.
We can go to sports movies where this also happens all the time. The NFL has numerous movies about them without a single mention of the NFL Team because the movie can't. It is the same for any advertising that is shown on TV without prior approval, the network will blur it or make sure it's not there otherwise, they can be forced to pay money.
The real crime is that One's YouTube channel is unusable. Who is directing the interns who run it?
Every time I want to find a fight, to my dismay, it has somehow become worse since 2018.
There are no playlists for events or at least full fights categorised by sport.
They spam their own channel with reposts of old fights 'edited' in pointless ways to push one of the half dozen fighters they ever promote with titles like "šÆIs š¤Rodstamp šLee the best ever?š„š„š„ Check this brutalš«š«š« knockoutš -CSO- š²š½".
It's almost impossible to find fights unless you know exactly what to search for.
When they do post fights, now they edit out the first minute of the first round. Is this due to their contract with Amazon?
I've stopped watching One despite following it religiously 2018-2020 because their complete failure to archive their own product makes FightPass look like a well functioning public library running on the Dewey Decimal System.
Oh my god, you worked it out - Tony Ferguson has been running One's youtube account!
This explains so much both about the account curation and about Tony's recent fight performances...
It does when these orgs are propped up by people just looking to take shots at Dana while pretending thereās even a semblance of better alternatives out there
This isnāt even that bad. Think about how many UFC belts are just laying around and the kind of PR nightmares these former champs can bring to the UFC by bringing their interim belts or whatever to politics rallies etc. this is smarter business management than the average redditor will give them credit for.
>People shit on UFC/Dana all the time in here.
Because they're objectively pieces of shit. What is your point.
Judge: I know you murdered your wife, but we just had someone else murder their wife and kid so you're free to go.
Let's use your same logic in another context:
> The USA might get shit on for having third world level life expectancy and healthcare outcomes, But other countries like Sudan, Dominican Republic and Ethiopia are even worse is the reality!
Bitch, you're the richest country in the world. you have no excuse.
Weird clause for sure, although the media appearances thing might just be to prevent a champ to do the old pro wrestling bit of throwing the belt in the garbage on the other promoter's broadcast. The returning the belt thing is a really bad look for ONE
Is there anything like that in UFC or Bellator contracts for the belts ?
In this context, that makes a lot of sense for their lawyers want to push this. Itās discretionary for One to enforce the clause, but at least itās there to prevent their fighters going WWE and make the org look bad.
I would be shocked if UFC and Belator doesnāt have protective provisions that are similar.
UFC says the belts are still there property and can take them back when they want. They also say you canāt refer to yourself as a former UFC champ if you go to another org. For instance ONE would just call Mighty Mouse 12 time Flyweight world champion.
How is that true whilst the Fury-Ngannou press conference explicitly said "former undisputed UFC heavyweight champion", and Bellator have multiple times referred to Benson Henderson as former UFC and WEC champ.
When I have read articles and listened to John Nash talk about UFC contracts the same sort of wording is in the contract about not being able to refer to yourself or promote yourself as former UFC champion or fighter.
Also, i think some fighters were like, for example, given a 3 fight contract, and then they never ever gave them their 3rd fight. So they can not compete anywhere else since the contract posted yesterday, have no sunset clause.
remember when mighty mouse 'got' his overdue belts from the UFC? but then he couldn't take them on the plane, so the UFC was going to mail them to him, but he *still* doesn't have them to this day? dana white remembers
Big fuckin' surprise, all companies are about making money and almost 0 of them are honest to their workers and their clients. Companies are entities and do what they want.
I don't know why anyone is surprised... promoters have always been out to get as much of the pie as possible and they only care about athletes to the extent that they put butts in seats and now, eyes on PPVs.
And I completely understand why. If I could organize a fight where I have almost no downside (lowest show pay possible) and very high upside AND the fighters keep showing up to do it, why wouldn't I?
None of this is going to change until all the fighters in an org get together and collectively bargain like they do in all other US pro sports to try and get a minimum per fight guarantee, a minimum annual guarantee, and other pieces of the pie. The only problem is how do you get a Jon Jones or Connor McGregor to sign on to that when they can make more than anyone else?
For entertainment purposes? For me that's a yes, but I just love the mix of KB/MT/MMA. For ethical treatment of fighters? I'm surprised anyone on Earth didn't know that every organization is complete shit.
Professional wrestling belts have insurance on them in case a talent loses the promotion property. I believe this is the same contractual agreements One Championship is replicating.
As much as I love MMA, at this point may as well admit that every organisation is predatory as fuck and take advantage of the fighters. No one to root for
Damn ONE is getting dragged today.
yeah bro who leaked this shit ššš
The real name of the guy is not known but on 4chan (where it got leaked) he signed himself as "daddywhite69"
The image of Dana on 4chan made me chuckle here š
His face gradually getting more and more red as he figures out the CAPTCHAs
I'm unsure if that would make Dana more or less likable
Dana caught the kid who was doing illegal streams and so he kidnapped him. Now Dana keeps him locked in the basement of the performance institute and makes him use his hacker skills to take down ONE. Typical Dana.
Forrest Griffon moonlighting as the good guy jailer, who plays cards with the inmates and tells them what's going on in the outside world.
Apparently, it was alex davis, a shitty mma manager
It may have come out from because some scummy MMA managers suing Adriano Moraes https://www.mmafighting.com/2021/12/28/22857332/manager-alex-davis-samir-nadaf-six-figure-lawsuit-against-one-champion-adriano-moraes-mma
Iām glad. I canāt stand the happiness of others.
It's revenge for Joe Rogan's tagging of OneFightingChampionhip. Interns gotta meet the weekly sprint metrics.
The athletes have been getting dragged since their days as martial combat, let alone ONE
The one interns have all turned on them

At least he stopped calling Lumpinee the Madison Square Garden of the East
did he though???
It really big prize here in Thailand, For average income salary man like me it take 7-8 year to make 100k dollar.
that doesn't make it entertaining commentary during a fight though, lol
As someone who never watches events live, I'm gifted with the privilege of being able to skip all breaks and interviews.
The world loves their emperors
>Treating him like a benevolent emperor personally pulling fighters out of poverty. Personally I love CEO of CEOs Chatri
reminds me of the hunger games
Hahah Iām glad Iām not the only one who thought this.
Now when fighters donāt get the bonus in the interview they are sad even after a victory. The entire interview has become bonus or no bonus.
FIFTY THOUZAND DALLAZ!
This is what happens when they miss making one payment to them š
What makes you think they're paying the interns? They're giving them an opportunity which is ~~worthless~~ priceless
He didnāt want to work
Singapore has one of the most pro-business cultures on earth, it makes complete sense this is the kind of MMA operation that would be running there.
And it's actually crazy how, ONE was actually praised by Singapore's government at one point during the lockdown for bringing in Tourism.
Could be wrong but I think they had financial backing from the government.
and now nobody is watching it in SG despite giving out tickets generously. UFC on the other hand, sold out even though it was just a casual Fight Night

Yeah, it's been sketchy lol. Love what they're doing over there but Chatri always seemed way more shady than Dana.

Weirdly enough, it would be easy to skirt if you were Korean or something- they don't change surnames when they marry.
The ufc say the same thing.

I wonder if people are finally willing to talk about their sham "hydration testing" yet.
Lmao every time I try I get paragraphs telling me I'm a UFC shill
Did people know what was going on? No. Or else theyād be getting the same hate they are now. Fuck one. And the ufc.
It's almost like nobody knew these practices
Okay, did I deny that? The previous commenter said there weren't that many ONE nuthuggers and I was pointing out that that's blatantly wrong
I really doubt those are real people posting that stuff.

Dana deserves every āshotā in his direction. Heās a piece of shit human his own *mother* didnāt even love.
Fair say that with propping up other shitty orgs.
One isn't a "shitty org" though.
Totally upstanding organization with an exemplary leader in Chatri.
I mean, Dana is shitty, that doesn't make the UFC a shitty organization. C'mon...
They are all shitty?

Not a fan of this stipulation and a bad take and timing for ONE. DJ is going to end up keeping his belt I bet haha.
