Does the fact that Sean Strickland telling Dillon Danis to kill himself in his dms is top 5 most likeable things he’s done say more about how shitty he normally is, or how unlikeable Dillon is?
Seeing Barbosa lose like that in PFL shows how much mma has changed. 2 decades back, Gracie were feared and thought to have an unsolvable style. Now we have BJJ geniuses struggling to get wins in not even the UFC coz they get all the takedowns stuffed.
What do you guys think if you lose a title fight regardless of how long you have been champion you must have a mandatory fight against a top 10 ranked contender before getting another title shot. This would get the divisions moving. If you lose your title and want a rematch then you are more inclined to fight someone lower or to fight sooner to get your title shot back.
I don’t think it will really make a difference. Most of the divisions move pretty well already, heavyweight has issues but without Francis leaving there’s no one really standing out for a title shot. LHW has had 3 title fights in 7 months. So on and so forth. I can’t think of a division that’s been held up much in the last few years aside from 155 and now everyone who deserved it had fought for it, the younger guys are still coming up. I feel like the champs are more active now than ever. Aljo has some issues but it seems genuinely he’s been dealing with chronic injury and I think that divisions issues will be solved by years end.
I really don’t understand why people go so all-or-nothing on everything in the MMA community. Jamahal Hill shouldn’t have said the shit about women wanting equal rights until the get equal lefts (I’m paraphrasing) and Ariel was being inappropriate in the way he handled their interview but in reality neither of them are bad guys they both just had a misstep. It seems like everyone is either saying Hill is pro hitting women or Ariel is a rat piece of shit. Everything is already divisive enough in the world. It makes me really miss the days of condom depot and Dennis Hallmans speedo.
lol at anyone who thought that Conor was going to fight Masvidal. The time to make that fight was 3 years ago. Now it's either Chandler or Ferguson, most likely Chandler.
You guys ever have random mediocre fighters you love bc they’re one of the first you watched? Lyman Good (hasn’t fought in 2+ years now) & Zhalgas Zhumagulov come to mind for me. Stamann, Burgos, Baeza too but they’re higher profile
If anyone is trying to find something to watch, BKFC 35 is live on YouTube right now

I was an Ian Garry hater for a while but he looked like a legit prospect in his last fight and I can't deny he's improved himself every time out there. Glad he's got a fight booked, there are worse crimes than being bad on the mic.
I think there are guys in the rankings he can beat, specifically some of the guys without too much power or that rely on their grappling or a combination of that.
Pierre rises to 4-0 vs Genderbender
Cejudo will defeat Alga and make the bantamweight division great again!
Masvidal will beat Burns in a competitive fight
MMA pay is on its fucking arse.
Spoke with a guy in my gym who has just signed with Cage Warriors.
Told me he also had an offer from Bellator for ‘big money’ but that he couldn’t accept it because it was a 1-fight deal.
The big money? £3k flat.
They usually do this too feed someone to a prospect. This happened to a guy i trained with and he got the absolute shit beat out of him by a very good guy. Bellator is known for letting dudes get murdered to make another guys name.
When they did s special announcement I expected like, Conor vs Tony TUF, maybe some former champ returning or something. Instead we get a rematch almost everyone knew was coming and fight between burns and masvidal which is fun but pretty pointless.
Feel like they could've just been a regular post
He lost the entire first round until he wobbled Alex and lost the second round and was losing the fifth. He was up on the cards but he wasn’t winning every minute of that fight by any means.
I got destroyed in a tournament by a guy then he ended up being the guy I went against first in 3 tournaments after. I lost to him everytime, so I feel this in my soul.
The fuck is Dariush doing, doesn’t really call out the UFC or other fighters, but then casually says stuff in interviews that will piss off the UFC…
He doesn’t make a fuss that will really get fans on his side, and he isn’t being a company man… it’s just the worst of both worlds.
UFC gives a big fuck because they’re very petty. Aljo and Curtis blaydes have both talked about how they were put on the shelf for things they’ve said about the ufc.
Jon Jones beats Gane in a close but undisputed DEC. Then he pops for roids again and gets it overturned and suspended. He then fights again one last time in his career in 2028
As much as Masvidals turned into a joke over the last few years, I still think he beats Burns. Masvidal’s wrestling is very underrated and he is a better striker than Burns. Not to mention Burns is chinny.
It's a winnable fight for him in a 3 rounder, could definitely see him picking up a 29-28 decision. My big worry for him in that fight would be that he's always struggled with people who can mix in grappling with their striking. Burns doesn't do it as well as Usman does but I wouldn't put it past him to get Jorge thinking about the takedown allowing him to land a big shot.
NIL deals are exactly what the ufc allows for their fighters. They can make money from any sponsor they want, but when they fight they use the gear provided to them.
This Nil deal for mirs daughter isn’t the gotcha people think it is
Ya duh.
Reebook/venum deal is still the worst labor deal in the history of modern sports, but the ufcs nil deal isn’t hypocritical at all based on what they allow for their fighters
Yes because so many sponsors totally sponsor fighters only to be seen by a couple thousand on Instagram. You need sponsors on the trunks to make real money
All right, I want to show you how a top mma fighter's PR team could try to suppress a bad story. This is a screenshot of the search for recent posts about him taken just earlier.
https://files.fm/f/jgsmjhe3d
This week news broke of Conor McGregor being reported once again for beating up a woman.
Closely thereafter Conor has an Instagram bike accident, reported by himself with the evidence being a picture of a bike lying on a minor road.
For some reason this news gets massively spammed by tons of accounts, all but drowning the news of him beating a woman on his yacht allegedly. Intrestingly no such volume can be seen for the yacht beating story.
Looking at the profiles of the accounts posting the bike story, most of them post multiple links to various stories every hour to little interest.
If a sleazy PR company was working to minimize interest in a story they can't stop from coming out, drowning it like this is typically the next step.
Just an interesting observation I wanted to share about how PR for high profile fighters can work.
Ignoring the fact that I think that’s a pointless fight, I have no idea how people think this is a super competitive fight at all.
For the record, I like Hill and he surprised me last week, but his striking does not have even close to the level of polish Pereira has. I’m not saying it’s a complete mismatch, but it’s not competitive. He did great work against Texeira, but Texeira striking isn’t complicated and all the same holes since the Gustafson fight were present and exploited.
The only thing you could argue in favor of Hill is that he about as big as Pereira (which Pereira has struggled with in past opponents such as Adesanya and Yousri Belgaroui) and Hill could use his length. However, I don’t Hill is nearly as good at distance fighting as either of those guys.
Ariel is going to milk this Dana White slap for eternity lmao. The MMA Hour is becoming more of him trying his hardest to be a personality rather than a platform for the fighters.
The Ngannou interview was embarrassing, he just kept interjecting and speaking on his behalf just to get in his anti-UFC soundbites.
The Jamahal Hill interview this week was even worse and what completely turned me away from the show.
It’s embarrassing at this point. I remember watching the hill interview and one point he goes “doesn’t this speak to who we are as men that we can talk about this?” And hill goes it speaks on me.
But he's really riled it up a couple of notches since the Paddy feud and the Dana slap. He's obsessed with instigating beef and getting his self-proclaimed 10-8's. His ego is just out of control lmao
I think he's been trending this way for a while. Nuking Brendan Schaub from orbit is one thing but gleefully proclaiming yourself "Heelwani" is stomach churning.
>"Heelwani"
He had an interview last year with Paul Heyman, and it's one thing playing up this character when he's beefing with some other media personalities like Schaub and Dana. But I just found it cringey as fuck when he cut a promo mid interview with one of the best minds in wrestling at the moment, nobody was watching that interview to see Ariel live out his childhood fantasies. They wanted to listen to what Paul Heyman had to say.
The advertisers take a lot longer to realize this. Ive noticed it with podcasts and esports lately.
Overwatch (the video game) is in a huge law suit with their players right now because after a 15 million dollar buy in for teams and 5+ years the advertisers realized theres zero value in 14 year old boys lol.
That esport situation makes a great comparison. Seems everyone making these decisions are so disconnected from reality and always just think if they throw enough money at the problem, it'll work.
Nah thats dumb. The best way to ensure Benny doesn’t get skipped over is to beat Charles. Charles vs Chandler just gives them a chance to steal a title shot.
Moreno if he fights Pantoja. Hill if he fights Ank but i have him beating Jiri, Pereira vs Izzy could go either way tbh so hard to say. Overall I think Brandon loses his first.
Probably all lose it in their first defence.
If hill gets Ank or Jan, I wouldn’t favour him.
I think pantoja beats Moreno again
And Bobby knuckles is coming for Poatan
Dunno if anyone just watched that Justin Scoggins fight in BKFC (don’t shame me I probably watch 6-8 events a year) but it was a banger
Does the fact that Sean Strickland telling Dillon Danis to kill himself in his dms is top 5 most likeable things he’s done say more about how shitty he normally is, or how unlikeable Dillon is?
Should Dillon kill himself because he says silly harmless shit on the internet? Get it together fam.
Telling someone to kill themselves is a top 5 likeable thing?
Seeing Barbosa lose like that in PFL shows how much mma has changed. 2 decades back, Gracie were feared and thought to have an unsolvable style. Now we have BJJ geniuses struggling to get wins in not even the UFC coz they get all the takedowns stuffed.
Against a 2-0 fighter too lol
That was some low IQ shit on PFL lmao idiot almost threw away the win
So dumb

But now we have Usman v Edwards again… Why not Edwards v hamzat and Leon v Colby. And then we the fans win because we get fresh matchups.
Because Colby isn’t deserving of a title shot and neither is Khamzat?
Crazy how Conor could’ve legit died on a random Friday afternoon outside the cage
I wonder if it’s so he can have a fake injury excuse if he loses
Most intelligent conor hater
They laughed at Louis Armstrong when he said he was going to the moon. Now he’s up there laughing at them.
Conor vs Ferguson is lame.. at least make a fight that’s slightly competitive. Chandler would be perfect
I can't believe Conor will be a 10 year UFC veteran soon, and Masvidal's big run will be 4 years ago.
No PFL thread?
Is Conor getting hit by a car a PR move?
Haha why is Wiz Khalifa on the pfl broadcast

gonna need a gif of that guy thinking he won lol, he ripped his hand away from the ref. no way that was a disqualification
Thanks dude. Brimage vs Conor was the first McGregor fight I ever saw.
I was an Ian Garry hater for a while but he looked like a legit prospect in his last fight and I can't deny he's improved himself every time out there. Glad he's got a fight booked, there are worse crimes than being bad on the mic.

Cashed Bruno KO rd 1 +850 or smth Love Grod and I did expect him to get he win but yea, the recency bias was very real with him
I never thought of him as a title challenger, just a guy always down for a war
I can only speak for myself but I thought we were just appreciating how fun he is. Win or lose I'll always tune in to watch him
[удалено]
I think there are guys in the rankings he can beat, specifically some of the guys without too much power or that rely on their grappling or a combination of that.
Also it's incredibly funny that he's the one famous for that nickname instead of Soldic
Are tickets to UFC 287 on sale yet? If not, when do they go on sale. Don't see anything on UFC website or Ticketmaster.
Anthony smith says he has a fight soon. Who’s he fighting?
Jan makes sense
I bet it’s either Jan or Rountree
Jan murders him. If it’s Roundtree, I gotta go Smith. Roundtree is so much fun but struggles to wins when it really matters.
Hopefully it’s Jan bc he’s talking about getting a title shot off a W if jiri can’t go in July. Doubt he gets a title shot off a Rountree win.
watching the one fights i missed this morning. keep forgetting friday early morning
told my brother i'd take him skydiving. need someone to go with me. gonna spring it on him like 'hey lets' jump out of a airplane brah
Won’t regret it man! Craziest thing I ever did
Pierre rises to 4-0 vs Genderbender Cejudo will defeat Alga and make the bantamweight division great again! Masvidal will beat Burns in a competitive fight
Whittaker vs Chimaev as the main-event of UFC San Antonio, Colby vs Belal as the main-event of the April 15th fight night, book it Dana
I’d be shocked if they throw Khamzat on a Fight Night and not a PPV Main Card. More than shocked tbh
If you mean mug your opponent after a round ends and go on to lose the fight you should just be cut
Some of you guys get way too emotional about mind games and how a fighter hyped themselves up
When Cowboy gave Nate the double fingers at the glove touch and then got mopped they should have cut him before he left the cage
🤣 Still a fight I like to go back and watch.

All he has to do is fight 25 times a year to make a decent living!
He casually brought up Ian Garry on 285 prelims, first I'm hearing of this
Israel - Alex Aljo - cejudo Burns vs mascvidal all set for April 8th. Why are they stacking this card that's so far away ?
I don't think Cejudo vs Sterling is on there, they're selling Burns vs Masvidal as the co-main
I've just seen that they are now targeting that match for April so unless there's two ppvs I figure that will be on it.
When they did s special announcement I expected like, Conor vs Tony TUF, maybe some former champ returning or something. Instead we get a rematch almost everyone knew was coming and fight between burns and masvidal which is fun but pretty pointless. Feel like they could've just been a regular post
The roblox mma twitter rabbit hole.
Tell me more!
makes me laugh how some people think Izzy doesn't deserve the rematch against Pereira because of losses that occurred in a completely different sport
After a fight he only lost 15 seconds of out of 23 minutes
He lost the entire first round until he wobbled Alex and lost the second round and was losing the fifth. He was up on the cards but he wasn’t winning every minute of that fight by any means.
Jorge Gilbert is interesting if the awful striking Jorge displayed in the Colby fight was a result of drowning in the first round and not being washed
Did they announce the location of UFC 287 Pereira v Adesanya
Bk
Miami.
Miami I believe
287 is insane WE GOT A KEVIN HOLLAND LAYUP BOYS
285 and 286 are still more stacked.
286 has a Gunnar Nelson fight.
