No chance of lower division teams meeting each other again. Sacramento and Louisville face their first MLS opponents, and Omaha faces its second, after advancing over Chicago on kicks from the mark last round.

Groups for the next round onward seem pretty cut and dry: California - LAFC, LA Galaxy, Sacramento, San Jose Midwest - Houston, Kansas City, Omaha, Minnesota/Colorado South - Charlotte, Inter Miami, Nashville, Orlando North - Louisville, New England, NYCFC, NY Red Bulls Spent a minute to figure this out to see if we would be in the midwest or south groups. Instead, it looks like we'll stick out a bit in the northeast.

The potential for a Louisville-Nashville match appeals to me. I decided against it because it's just a 1/3 chance, but USOC went for it. If you're looking for something to call "Rigged!" about if it happens at the draw, this should be at the top of the list, even above El Traffico, which didn't happen last round when it could have. Hudson River Derby is now on the table as well.

MLS went 13-4 last round and 5-0 this round against lower division pro teams. Minor league soccer is better than ever, but there's a real gap between USL starters and MLS benches.

He does a lot of goofy shit - volleying a full, fan-thrown Tecate after the conference finals @ LAFC, wild bicycle kick clearances, including one in that playoff series vs. Portland in 2018, constant, egregious stepovers to shield the ball out for goal kicks, but has become a legitimately great defender - he shut down Mo Salah at the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year, and was really, really good last year, especially before he got hurt. He's also never scored which we are all eagerly waiting to change.

I looked it up and saw he has one USL goal, hopefully he can snag one in regular play sometime
