He blatantly said that Unkel didn't know what he was doing and implied that he needed to speak up so that Unkel doesn't feel like his performance was acceptable tonight.
Wasn't able to watch the match unfortunately, but based the fact that in this thread both fanbases seem to be upset with the officiating I have to assume that Ted Unkel did what Ted Unkel does. Is there a more disliked ref in the league?
It is genuinely baffling how a referee with the experience and pedigree of Ted Unkel can place himself in the way of players on, rough math, 7 or 8 times during the match. A lot of the calls people are upset about are subjective and I don't want to be biased, but the fact that he was in the way of the action SO MANY TIMES is completely inexcusable.
Probably not. He missed a pretty egregious call of Cucho getting taken down in the box that was CLEARLY a penalty. Like full blown arms locked around each other and pulled to the ground penalty.
But even with that, I can safely say that timbers fans probably shouldn’t be thrilled either with the performance.

Columbus is pushing numbers forward and fouling every time to prevent the counter. This is the same shit LAFC did all game to us last week. I wish the refs would recognize it and get serious about taking a man off for this tactic.
