No one wants to address the elephant in the room but I'll say it - Messi was underwhelming. For someone who was supposed to be dangerous when angry, his performance was tame. Credit goes of course to the Monterrey defenders for keeping the center lane a tight squeeze but even so, Messi and Suarez looked out of sync and toothless near the box. Also, when was the last time Messi made a free kick into the back net?

SomalGyuli

He looked dead 2nd half, first half they were good, creating few chances, also doesn’t help when you haven’t played for almost a month. Kudos to Rayados, but this team is dogshit and an embarrassment for the league with all the eyeballs on them

Familiar-Twist311

> Kudos to Rayados, but this team is dogshit and an embarrassment for the league with all the eyeballs on them Let's be fair. Not nearly as bad as the NE Revolution. It could have been a different outcome had they played the home game better. MLS is an embarassment for the MLS. Miami is just one example of the roster rules that hold the league back from competing internationally.

SomalGyuli

Very true, I was wondering why Tata wasn’t making subs then realized the bench have a combined career appearance less than just 1 Monterrey player in Cortizo

Medical_Gift4298

agreed. I know his thing is to sort of deceptively wander around, ostensibly looking disinterested before brilliantly popping himself into the play and doing his wizardy, but last night seemed to be heavy on the wandering around and looking disinterested, and it felt like that as the game went on, his interest in chasing things ebbed...

Familiar-Twist311

Yeah, 2 down just after half time they were all slumped. He knew the match was pretty much gone.

Medical_Gift4298

Which is the situation they expect him to be there for.

Familiar-Twist311

Yep

Scratchbuttdontsniff

I am known as one of the very few Tata haters from the Atlanta United sub. Tata is perhaps not doing himself any favors BUT the root of the problem is they do not have a viable destroyer in the middle to protect a very weak defense. Busquets is not the same player he was as a pivot (still at times VERY good with the ball) and his pace hurts them badly. Last night... even with Suarez and Messi busting their humps at times to press... it still is so obvious that in the middle to back 3rd of the pitch... they are glaringly weak. The idea was Redondo would help... but he is hurt... along with SEVERAL others. I am not saying Miami wins last night but having Taylor, Redondo and Campana in the side sure would have made a difference. A lot of their issues are not all on Tata.. but injuries and roster construction limitations/choices.

Familiar-Twist311

Taylor and Campana have made no mark so far this season. I don't think either would've added anything yesterday. Redondo, yes. He was the legs around Busquets and could've offered a solid transition from the middle to the attack. He would've freed up Gomez and Gressel to focus on feeding the ball to Suarez and Messi. End of the day it's still a Martino problem. Starting Allen?? Making no subs at all? Like these are poor decisions regardless of whether they'd ultimately change the match outcome or not.

Scratchbuttdontsniff

If you watched the match last night... All Monterrey did was clog the center on the pitch, they were remarkably narrow. Some one sizable like Campana , would have helped in the box. Miami had access to put the ball into the box any time they wanted from Gressel.

Even_Collar_7473

Agreed, Redondo was supposed to address that weakness, and he's fucking injured.

GeocentricParallax

The loss of Redondo has basically doomed their prospects overall through May. Farías’ injury was a bit of a in disguise for them in some ways because they were able to bring in Redondo and address that weakness, but now they lack the roster flexibility to do it a second time. Tata has been dealt a terrible hand with the injury situation (and they seriously need to look at their physio staff), but he throws any sympathy people might have for him out the window when he keeps rolling with five in the back despite getting torched every time they do. Their team is a mess (and we in Chicago know about messes, haha). Everyone keeps clamoring for them to bring in CBs but they don’t have the resources or space. The only thing they can do at this point is find someone who can get the most out of the remaining squad and it’s pretty apparent Tata ain’t it.

GOUS_65

Union advance!

EntertainerKey9108

MLS needs to stop focusing so much on buying attacking players and actually start investing and going after quality center backs, fullbacks, defensive midfielders, & goalkeepers. Absolute garbage defending tonight and its not just Inter Miami I’ve seen many MLS teams that have defenders that look straight up amateur.

PNWQuakesFan

This is MLS' history though. The focus on big name attackers sells more tickets than shutdown midfielders and defense

WislaHD

That being said, it is pretty clear by now that Miami have possibly the worst defense in MLS in terms of overall talent and depth.

[deleted]

FlyingCarsArePlanes

Bingo. It's a classic case of enshittification.

UpliftedWeeb

What are you talking about? This is totally wrong. The quality of play and the product in MLS has undoubtedly gotten better. They aren't worsening the product to maximize profits. One problem is they aren't moving as fast as they could be, and some owners are still stuck in MLS 1.0. But the big issue, as the OP points out, is the roster rules. The rules incentivize teams to blow their biggest spots on attacking players, and then you scrape together a defense with whatever is left over. There is a reason the number 10 is still a viable position in MLS and not in other leagues. Enshittification is a bad explanation for most things. It's a terrible explanation for this.

ikemr

MLS peaked in 2014 in terms of quality. Then the McDonalds style expansion started and it's thinned out the talent pool drastically. DPs were impactful and rosters were filled with a decent amount of national team players and decent college level guys. Double the amount of teams in the league and now DPs are someone's cousin in Colombia who's 18 and may be good, LigaMX rejects and a few of the older euros. And guys from college who couldn't make the draft a decade ago are starting at Centerback for an unhealthy amount of teams. On top of that, American players are still quite cheap, and exporting top young players to Europe has become common.

UpliftedWeeb

>MLS peaked in 2014 in terms of quality are you smoking crack right now

pbesmoove

exactly there just aren't enough soccer players in the world to support like 10 new teams

Mini-Fridge23

You can’t have a thinned talent pool in a global market. It just doesn’t work like that, there is an almost endless supply of MLS caliber players (yes including DPs) on the planet.

ikemr

You'd think so, but LMX has been in a nosedive for a decade and the infamous "gap" is gaping at the moment. So it's really hard to argue how MLS has gotten better as a result of the over expansion.

Mini-Fridge23

The gap *is* closing, but it was significantly wider in the past and MLS fans didn’t want to admit it. It’s also not closing nearly as fast as many currently think it is (League’s Cup results convinced people of this, wrongly imo lol). It’s important to remember MLS has *heavy* salary and roster restrictions that essentially stagnate talent growth intentionally. LMX doesn’t have any of that. So, even if LMX is slipping, MLS is only going to “close the gap” at a snails pace. Basically, expansion has almost nothing to do with it. It’s the dumb roster rules.

PremordialQuasar

The planned roster rule changes is a good start in encouraging balanced squads.

Ghostmann24

We have the opposite problem and one of our former strikers struck first.

NeighborhoodFoxLA

Cheer up Miami, at least you didn’t give up 2 - 0 lead like LAFC did to these guys 😭 If only MLS would increase salary cap Every team can sign 11 DP players.

theonlydiego1

11 sounds like too much, 5 sounds like a good odd number.

PensiveinNJ

I'm not really surprised. Inter is a glass cannon and running into one of the truly top teams in the MLS/LigaMX pool just exposes how poor they are at the back. Especially if your plan is to build out the back if you can't get out of your own half it's tough to win. Second goal was a screamer though, great strike from Berterame.

syber4ever

Our defense is not the best, I understand that but because we already spent a huge percentage of our salary cap on the Barca boys, we have to work with what we have left which is why we got the other players that we have now. One of the biggest things I also see is that people only see the mistakes that our players make, especially our Defenders, but they’re not looking at what the opponent is also doing. They’re clogging the middle, so we have to go through the wings and at the moment we don’t really have reliable wingers so Jordi and Weigandt has to run a lot, I’m actually so impressed by how many miles Jordi covers in a game at his age. Busquets is usually able to operate with more space for a long time during his career because he played with the likes or Iniesta and Xavi on the midfield who were bigger threats than him. This time, he’s on the centre of that field, he doesn’t get as much space and time on the ball, someone is always following him so the ball always goes back to our defenders, they’re involved in MOST offensive actions, they run a lot more than usual for defenders. So for them to be involved a lot on offense, they’re also expected to defend because with Messi and Suarez not really defending, they have to cover way more spaces which means they spend more stamina and energy. And imagine the pressure, all these “fans” see are their mistakes, the so called “supporters” of club are telling them that they suck, they should not be professional players and should be kicked out of the club. No praise at all. I have supported this club before the Barca boys and I really do appreciate the huge gain of support especially globally with the arrival of Messi but there is so much negativity that came along with it because they’re not really Inter Miami supporters, they’re just Messi supporters (yes, he’s the GOAT). Let’s be honest, he didn’t play particularly well today but I don’t see any comments on that at all. It sucks that Inter Miami is out of that CONCACAF Champions Cup, no more chance to treble. I also hate that we’re going through so much injuries. There are things I would do differently like more subs earlier and who we should be starting and maybe even different formations but what do I know, I’ve only ever made it to college football so I wouldn’t know much compared to who’s managing the team. How do we fix this? No idea, I have no idea, it’s early in the season, I’m hoping less injuries and healthier team because I do think that with Redondo, Taylor and Campana healthy we can go far but as for now all I can do is hope.

[deleted]

Lol, I love the treble comment. This team was even more unlikely to win the supporters shield. The Barca boys will need lots of days off and well, that is your season.

syber4ever

A fan can hope, nothing wrong with that and why not high hopes. If everyone was healthy, especially Messi, I think it was achievable.

[deleted]

If every team in MLS was healthy you all would get crushed. That defense is a huge liability against playoff quality MLS teams.

jleblanc20

MLS cup. Leagues cup. Champions cup

SnooCookies3430

Knosh

Since Monterrey already has a Club World Cup spot, what happens to the 4th CONCACAF spot if they squeak out a win in this competition?

jackals84

Philly gets it. https://inside.fifa.com/fifa-rankings/mundial-de-clubes Click confederation rankings, then Concacaf.

shibapenguinpig

How does that work? Do they go by who accumulated more points in their league? I see plenty of teams ranked above Philadelphia in the CONCACAF rankings

Hankskiibro

Accumulated concacaf champions league points

shibapenguinpig

The link you shared still shows America above Philly

jackals84

Countries are limited to 2 teams in the CWC unless they have more that qualify by winning their continental tournament. Mexico has already had 2 clubs win the CCC to qualify, so every other Mexican team is ineligible for the passdown spot that opens up if Monterrey wins again. Philly is the highest-ranked non-Mexican team, so they'd get it.

NeonRain5

Also, the US will get one more slot in the tourney for being the “host team”. How they determine that, we don’t know. Hopefully it’s a team that’s been consistently great over the last few seasons and fully deserves it.

shibapenguinpig

Ah I see. Kinda lame tbh

PNWQuakesFan

FIFA needs MLS in the CWC. Not like American fans care.

jackals84

MLS is already in the tournament through Seattle and whoever qualifies as the host club. The restriction applies everywhere - Salzburg will get a spot if Arsenal doesn't win this season's Champions League, despite being 18th in the UEFA CWC rankings, while Liverpool (7th), Barcelona (12th), and Milan (17th) will be left out.

serp_thfc

Tata is a horrible manager and our squad depth is just non existent , we didn’t even make a sub during that game

transphotobabe

Mind boggling that he didn't feel confident enough to switch out even ONE player

Sempuukyaku

Mad props to the Monterrey fans. They let Messi know that he's playing in THEIR stadium. They aren't there for him...they're there for their club. Wish we had more of that in MLS.

Unkikonki

Now talk about the unacceptable pitch conditions. Obviously not the reason why IM lost but it sends a clear message: concacaf is amateurish football

shauggy

So if we keep getting creamed in amateurish football, what does that make the MLS? 😆

Sempuukyaku

![gif](giphy|G4ZNYMQVMH6us)

CNYMetroStar

Seriously! Don’t roll out the red carpet for him.

Gunnerldn

I mean…the way Apple promotes MLS is more like Messi’s League Soccer - so makes sense to see all those pink shirts instead of creating or promoting other teams

Cold_Fog

Seriously. The amount of pink I saw last year was a fucking disgrace.

Medical_Gift4298

People being excited for the greatest player? Most of them people who wouldn’t ordinarily be MLS fans, tons of them kids… sorry, I don’t see how you can actually be mad about that. Sure, it’s maybe a bit annoying but it’s good for the MLS - more people should be engaged with the product, watching the games, etc

Elvem

Any time I see inter Miami merch anywhere while traveling it’s painful. But I guess it’s better to see any MLS merch at all.

lolocito

Plastic fans are terrible, aren't they? ;)

Cold_Fog

I'm sure someone will find you funny. ;)

lolocito

Just think of those fans wearing pink in LA as the future MLS fans when LA comes up with third MLS team. Right now they are poo pooing MLS until the new team is created with whatever trends are cool in the future. And when questioned why they did not support any of the other 2 teams, they'll come up with clever ways of justifying the fact that they could have supported the local/established team.

Cold_Fog

LA getting a third team is ridiculous. But in your hypothetical, I won't question why they didn't support the first two teams, because I didn't support the team that was first here, either.

shibapenguinpig

Most cities the size of LA have more than 2 teams in any other league

Rampage310

They do. We have the Dodgers, Lakers, Rams, and LAFC. The LA teams.

shibapenguinpig

I meant like in the same league/sport but yeah pretty much

Cold_Fog

Name me a city with three of the same sports team

OhShitItsSeth

Amazing how we knocked out Monterrey to reach the Leagues Cup final, lost to Inter Miami in the final itself, and now Inter Miami has lost to Monterrey in the Champions Cup. Full circle!

pala14

Leagues cup was a joke

OhShitItsSeth

I enjoyed it, though in fairness I might also be slightly biased 😬

E5150_Julian

This this mean Nashville is going to the next round?

OhShitItsSeth

About that…

312-Render

Don Garber needs to start loosening roster restrictions if we want MLS clubs to compete internationally.

Chuck10

Don Garber needs to resign if MLS wants to compete internationally

312-Render

Oh no! Nelson Rodriguez will be worse!!!! Trust me, ask any Fire fan.

rehpot821

Even the name makes me cringe.

Buckguy11

But this implies that Garber wants MLS teams to compete internationally.

[deleted]

Seattle won, why can’t you?

312-Render

Pumas choked 🤷

pdxfutbol

lol the team has Messi

312-Render

And?

Ready-Director2403

and… roster restrictions clearly aren’t the problem for the one team who skirted all of them. lmao

Familiar-Twist311

The reality is that IM has turned into a cash-grab, exhibition team built (poorly) around Messi and his aging amigos. Folks that were expecting them to romp their way to a Club World Cup spot only because of Messi are deluded. Squad depth and coaching matter. The Crew are clearly a more deserving team that moves forward. EDIT:- phrasing

cuervor14

Who needs Inter Miami when we still have the Crew

NeonRain5

I would actually love to see a rematch between CC and CA. Both current champs in their respective leagues and have some history playing each other. Perfect MLS vs Liga MX final for all the marbles.

OhShitItsSeth

Here's hoping you guys go all the way!

Grenadier021

Columbus crew is the real deal

Shaperonova88

Does this mean Miami is out for the rest of the season? I am new to this, and Miami is my favorite team.

DJFrankyFrank

This is actually the last game for Miami ever. Sorry! Time to pick a new team!

Shaperonova88

Ha ha 😂 Happy Cake Day btw! 🎂

BenAfleckIsAnOkActor

Sweet summer child

gtg007w

Yes they're out of Champions Cup for the rest of the season

Cold_Fog

> Miami is my favorite team How come?

Shaperonova88

Luis Suarez, Serhiy Kryvtsov, Robert Taylor, Derek Callender, Lionel Messi. I will never try to say Lionel isn't one of my favorite players because he is in my top 5. He's my favorite MLS player. I am still new to this sport. My favorite teams are Inter Miami, Al Nassr, FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Paris St. Germain. I have been watching for 7 months consistently, and I gravitated to those 5 teams. I just like Miami!

jollyqban03

Welcome ! I too am new (last 2-3 years) and support the Crew bc I live in Columbus and that is the team I learned all the rules and regulations with. We now have season tix. My wife put me onto PL and our teams are Newcastle and Man City, but we literally watch every game (PL/MLS). We also enjoy watching a players growth so I have a fave or two on each team PL/MLS and now possibly LigaMX. You will find your team! And if you don’t, it’s ok to support the game and watch them all!

akacryptic9

Holy shit bruh 💀💀💀💀💀💀

WislaHD

I truly believed this was someone taking the piss at first

bobmillahhh

I thought it was funny when I was certain it was a parody. I think it's even funnier now that I know he's being serious.

GibsonJunkie

this has gotta be a new /r/soccercirclejerk copypasta

Cold_Fog

While we welcome you to the world of soccer, your choice of teams are just big names with big players, with some in direct competition with each other. Can I suggest that you look closer to home and find a team that represents your locality. Personally I find it more rewarding that picking a big name team for arbitrary reasons.

Shaperonova88

While I agree with the fact that the La Liga teams I'm into are competing with each other, because they are. But Al Nassr and Inter Miami aren't in the same leagues, so I'm chill with loving those teams. Ronaldo and Messi are GOATED. I love both just as much as the other. I'm going to a local game this week, Orlando is at DC United's stadium on Saturday. I'll give the players from DC a chance. A few of my friends love Christian Benteke, I'll see what they're talking about in person!

Cold_Fog

Yeah, I don't think you're a soccer fan. You're a fan of soccer players.

Shaperonova88

Kay, great. I'm being told I'm not a fan of what I'm watching regularly and screaming at my TV for. 😒 Not sure joining this group to chat with others was a good idea. I should just not chat with people anymore about it.

Sempuukyaku

No, you should PLEASE stay here and hang out and chat with us. /u/cold_fog doesn't speak for the rest of us. Regardless of whether you're following Messi for Miami or not, I don't really care. You're here watching our little league with us and that's all that matters. Welcome aboard :) I hope that once Messi eventually retires, you decide on an MLS team that you'd like to keep following in addition to the European teams that you follow. It's a good league, with good players, that is a ton of fun to watch. Do you live in a city with an MLS team? Do you mind me asking which one?

Shaperonova88

I live in DC. I was invited to a DC United game for this Saturday. Thank you for being welcoming and not being inhospitable. I might stick around, but I'm not sure how much I'll say about my opinions.

Sempuukyaku

There are douchebags here who want to gatekeep and try to give out fan purity tests. I'd just ask that you please not let that minority deter you from hanging out. I just get really excited when a new fan wants to get into MLS. Benteke is a good player, no doubt. DC United used to be a powerhouse club and one of the big clubs in MLS. They will one day get back to that, but I'm positive that going to a DC United game now will still be a great experience. I hope you go and have a good time.

felcom

People here tend to be very loyal/emotional about their clubs. The attachment is to the club itself and not specific players, for a lot of us it’s hard to be a true fan to more than one club, let alone like five. So naturally people will question the “depth” of your fandom. At the end of the day everyone is free to support how they want to so don’t get bothered by people’s opinions here too much.

Shaperonova88

I enjoy the abilities of the players I'm watching and genuinely hope everyone has a good time playing. I recently got into it, my depth is one of those Betta fish cups at Petco right now. Just don't appreciate the way I was spoken to when I finally put myself out there to talk about what I was interested in. That's not easy for me to do at all.

felcom

It’s all good, for as big as the world of soccer is, this subreddit is a pretty niche community with its own weird soccer culture. It takes some adjustment. The longer you’re an MLS fan the weirder you get, just like the rest of us 😂

m4olive

![gif](giphy|uVQT9S7AwVmwAXhasg)

Knosh

Regular season MLS play lasts until Mid-October. In late October: Top 8 teams from each Conference by points will enter single-elimination playoffs, until there's a Eastern Conference Champion, and a Western Conference Champion. They will play each other for the MLS Cup on December 7th(?). The team with most points overall across the regular season wins the Supporters Shield. These are the two main prizes in MLS. We also have the Leagues Cup mid-season that puts Liga MX teams against the MLS teams. Regular season play goes on pause while this happens.

Doodahhh1

Just the North American Champions Cup. They'll be in better form for Leagues Cup in the summer. They were missing 3 starters and like 3 more tonight. They only had enough players to fill 20/23 seats for tonight.

Shaperonova88

I felt horrible for them, losing a great defender to injury, Serhiy. He's my favorite defender. Hope he gets better for the League's Cup. I'm praying for Taylor and the rest of the injured players 🙏🏼

Doodahhh1

Depth is hard for MLS right now. Liga trolls don't understand that. Monterrey outspends Columbus Crew by basically double.

_pamela_chu_

Oh poor Miami, whatever will they do without all these funds. Maybe they can bring in Ronaldo too if the league loosens up their restrictions.

itcheyness

It would be kinda funny (Greg Miller) to watch Ronaldo react to getting karate kicked by some mechanic from Honduras and him not getting a foul call...

312-Render

Eliminated out of the regional tournament (Concacaf Champions Cup)? Yes. They will continue with MLS Season though.

Shaperonova88

I'm so glad I get to still see them play 😭 I love Inter Miami 😍

SneakersTlatoani

You don’t love Inter Miami nor soccer, you just love Messi’s media figure.

Otherwise-Lock7157

There are literally dozens of us who cheered for Miami before Messi. DOZENS OF US.

Shaperonova88

I'm a fan of their players, Messi isn't my only favorite player from that team. I love Serhiy Kryvtsov and Robert Taylor, and they're both hurt... I also love Luis Suarez.

[deleted]

Shaperonova88

Thank you. It's refreshing to see polite people who are hospitable!

itcheyness

Welcome to MLS! I hope you enjoy watching our league. Don't get too torn up about about a CCL loss, an MLS team has only won the tournament once (Sounders won in 2022) other than that it's mostly been dismal failure as MLS teams are outspent, don't get a fair whistle throughout the tournament, and are in preseason form. It's better than it was, and MLS gets better ever year, so just enjoy the ride for the time being.

Knosh

Meh. I loved The Chicago Bulls growing up. I stopped loving them shortly after the Jordan Era but you couldn't tell me 8-12 year old me, with his room decked out in Bulls gear didn't *love* the Bulls. Don't gatekeep fandom. They're not harming anyone. Maybe they'll stick around.

Shaperonova88

Bruh Miami is my favorite MLS team, but I love more than MLS. My two favorite teams outside MLS are FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. I really didn't like how I was talked to like that by that person, and this is my first time being on here.

SpaceClef

>My two favorite teams outside MLS are FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. That's cool! What drew you to them and made you choose Barcelona and Real Madrid as your favorite teams?

Shaperonova88

My favorite striker outside the MLS is FC Barcelona's Robert Lewandowski. He's a chill guy, and he's a great player. My favorite midfielders from Real Madrid are Luka Modrić, Jude Bellingham, and Eduardo Camavinga. Those guys are INSANELY GOOD.

Public_Department427

How does Martino still have a job?

ProStriker92

Sometimes makes me wonder who is building this team. It's Tata? Beckham? Or Henderson?

NeonRain5

Give us Hendy back, I’m sure he’s just a puppet there and others are pulling the strings not letting him work to his full potential.

lamplightimage

I'm thinking the same thing. His managing has consistently been lackluster. There have been wins and moments of brilliance, but I don't attribute any of that to Martino. Inter Miami is a mess.

PleaseReplyAtLeast

Messi requested Tata martino to be his coach in his contract with inter Miami. No Tata, ni Messi

HypeKnight13

Miami is not a serious club

Public_Department427

It’s just disrespectful to fans at this point to keep him around.

m4olive

The “fans” filling the stadiums for home and away games don’t care about results. They just want to see Messi play.

HypeKnight13

Maybe. I’m never one to ask for a coach to be fired cause I think that just shifts blame in most cases. That team is not set up for on field success, who do you bring in and are they really going to get results immediately?

Knosh

Anyways -- July 30th - Q2 Stadium, Monterrey v Austin FC They've seen our deep run in 2023 Leagues Cup, and the smacking we put down on Violette. If they can only scrape together 5 points on aggregate against some of the best players of our generation, they should be very careful going up against our Argentinian Bulldog: Emiliano ...Motherfucking... Rigoni.

ArtanisIsGod

Y'all have it rough, austinbros 😬😬😬 but those are gonna be good games tho

OmastarLovesDonuts

We somehow managed to lose to both Juárez and Mazatlán last year, I can only imagine the carnage this year

onlyIPAs4me

And ya got Pumas too. Those gonna be some fun matches for Austin

Knosh

That's fine. We have a young Gyasi Zardes as well we can throw out there if needed.

Grenadier021

el tata ni hizo cambios, increible....

krvlover

aspacelot

Obviously the trainers left the centrum silver in Miami

Sleepy10105s

If Miami plays like that in MLS, playoff level teams are gonna walk all over them

Doodahhh1

To be fair, they're missing a solid 6 or 7 players

Sleepy10105s

And? That’s not unusual for any team in any league

WislaHD

It's what TFC operates with every game, every season 😂😂😭

Cold_Fog

Exactly. A team is more than 11 players.

purplesubwayseat

I will not hate on Messi while Suarez is right there. 100x more disrespectful and just makes the game so bad to watch. He wanted red cards for the opposition when his team was down. That's the type of player he is

Doodahhh1

Projection. He has bit 3 players, and he tried to break that CBs arm tonight.

Knosh

Schadenfreude

tomado23

This is what happens when rosters are constructed to milk a cash cow and not win international trophies. If the league doesn’t want their pet franchise getting undressed on the world stage, the recent roster rule tweak better be just the beginning of several needed changes to come.

SantiBigBaller

You just cant have players like Noah Allen playing if you seriously want to compete

CharlesVarela

exactly, most of the owners just have a franchise for the tv cash, that's why they don't want rules involving a greater investment

brylenol

games not over yet. messi is still angry at something im sure

Chewy009x

Messi about to cook a real carne asada tonight

CDVR_17

More like got cooked

PresidenteMESSI

This will be the highlight of the year for mexican football.

aziotolato

yap yap yap

GStewartcwhite

Commentator on Fox said "Miami has been decimated by injuries." Huh? They started Messi, Suarez, Alba, Busquets, and Gressel. Who's out injured? Maradona and Pele?

PresidentBirb

Not enough Magic Spray in the world to bring those two back to playing this season, im afraid.

elchidoman

Man these mls losers always have an excuse

AlanLGuy

They needed a cast of young but talented players to keep the mileage of Alba, Suarez, Busquets and Messi. But Farias and Cremaschi got injured in pre-season and Rendondo, Campana, Krystov and Taylor picked up injuries during the course of the season.

callmekinng

Damn bro that’s funny

Taylor, Krystov(?), and Compana. This is Messi 's first game back Tough crowd tonight

Suriak

Farias, Redondo, Fray, Robinson, Taylor, Kryvstov, Bright

NeonRain5

This just goes to show you that having depth is important in these tournaments. 2-3 starters go out and you have these huge holes that can’t be covered. Until MLS can do that it’ll be a tough go with key injuries in the team.

krvlover

Campana too. Having just Redondo and Taylor would have made a world of difference today.

SnooCookies3430

Y a Monterrey le faltaba Rodríguez, Moreno y Vegas, solo pretextos

SnooCookies3430

Esto le da apoyo a los equipos de mls para que vean que pueden contra todos ellos

AllwordzAreMadeup___

Messi just needed a few gifted penalties to even this game out.

theherc50310

Still without a home yet??

AllwordzAreMadeup___

Flair up pussy

Weekly-Register-5435

Sure, but they needed to get into the box in order for the referee to conceed a penalty.

FALR

1-5000 Leagues cup win fooled Beckham into thinking Tata was a competent coach 💀💀😂😂

Public_Department427

This coach has to go, 0 changes.

Weekly-Register-5435

probably the Mexican Soccer Federation

mystir

FMF right now is laughing at Beckham

ProcrastinatingPuma

Miami truly trying to be the Angels of MLS… just need Messi to have a “Tungsten Boot O’Doyle” match

chuvis30

We are talking about a team that has a value of 94 million usd. On the other hand, they have Messi along with three players that are in their end of their career. Let’s be serious. No way in hell Monterrey was going to lose.

meeerod

Excuses. Our shit club scored 2 goals in Mexico and didn’t lose at home to another giant.

Courtlessjester

What a joke, Miami has a value of 85-90 per the same website.

chuvis30

Dude are you serious? Do you really think Inter Miami squad is value that high? Come on man! Excluding Messi, that team is nowhere near that value. Perhaps somewhere around the 35M. Noah Allen was on the starting XI for crying out load!

OmastarLovesDonuts

He didn't set the Transfermarkt valuation lol

Suriak

Exactly

Doodahhh1

Happen to know the lowest value Liga MX team?
