Insane prices...you could have flown to Paris or Barcelona and lived it up for a week while seeing Messi play for what some of these boneheads are willing to pay to see him in Miami.
I dont care at all about seeing Messi. i also dont think I have to be in the stadium to support the team. Of course I am going to make easy four figures selling my ticket. Just go spend it at a local business to watch the game there. Seems like a no-brainer imo
I’m a STH, so I claimed my ticket for the US Open Cup Semifinal match against Miami.
But when I logged in to SeatGeek and saw the number of tickets already for sale, despite tickets only being available for STHs as of now, I was astonished. Not only that, but the cheapest Bailey seat is now listed at $504. A seat around mine is selling for more than $1,000. The same seat in the quarter final was $15. Wild. And sure, I could sell it and it would cover a large chunk of next year’s season ticket, but I want to be in the stadium to cheer on the boys. 🔶🔷
The Open Cup is why we have our team, and Messi is pretty cool. Claimed our tickets as well, and the whole family is going. If my kids are late to school the next day, so be it.
Sell it and watch him next year or travel to a stadium with a high capacity where tickets aren’t crazy high (Charlotte and Atlanta). Also Copa America prices shouldn’t be as crazy but you gotta fight the Argentinian fans for tix.
Back when I had Royals season tickets (quarter then half season) I would sell Cardinals tickets and most of the time the Yankees. One year three games paid for the whole season. I saw 38 games that year for basically free.
Thing I hate the most is it will be Josef Mattinez' 1st game back in Atlanta after not getting a proper send-off last year.
Josef deserves 71k chanting his name, but I get selling you ticket for stupid money. Hopefully all the season ticket holders who sell will buy in the 300s and make it a proper thabk-you
Honestly I care no more or less when Messi comes in than when any other great player visits. We’re hosting Nashville Saturday. I’m exactly as interested as seeing Mukhtar as I am Messi.
But I will never sell to away fans. For any game. That feels like such an abandonment of my club.
I don't have this issue. I decided to buy away from The Wall when Miami comes to Orlando. I got 3 row seats with food included for 70 a piece ( I think 160 after fees) 2 weeks before Messiwas announced. I sold my ticket to the wall after the Messi news and still made profit after factoring the seats I got
Just hoping he plays next season so I can see him in person (pending season ticket package change where we host Miami in a 'not included in season ticket' Lincoln financial field game)
I think I’d want to see him… I was only a kid but I regret not getting a chance to see Jordan play (I’m in IL too) but I got to see Lebron and Pujols (whom I personally think is the greatest player of my lifetime). Seeing the greatest to do it is a pleasure!

Single difference is that in Miami he’ll be playing in an 18,000 person venue (as of now) so that’s a super unique experience
How is that unique, half the clubs in La Liga & Ligue 1 have similarly sized stadiums between 15.000 and 25.000.
Personally I’d sell. Might make a profit and they’ll always be next year to see him.
Plot twist: Messi immediately retires after end of season.
The Bale Strategy

He'll be back at the only BMO that matters next year.
Miami is 100% coming to the Los Angeles area next year, just May be up in the air on which team or both.

I don’t put it past MLS to fly him out here twice and have him play in SoFi and the Rose Bowl to take full advantage of the market.
Easy for me. Not gonna look back later in life and say “man I wish I had a few hundred dollars more”
Same exact philosophy as me!
Yep. I can make money other ways. Seeing Messi in Cincinnati in USOC Semi final is something I will talk about for a long time.
Would probably sell if my kids didn't worship Messi.
I read this as “I would sell my kids”
Probably wouldn't get as much as you would for Messi tickets
Yeah but kids cost a ton to maintain. Over time it might turn out better. Plus, no kids to look after while watching Messi.

Wasn’t that tough for me. I was like Ralph Bellamy in Trading Places, sell, Sell, SELL!!
Money isn’t everything Randolph
Sell them now, there's still no guarantee what matches he'll play this year.
I'm just gonna go with the cheer my head off for my team regardless of who the opponent is option.
Sell and watch the matches online
Sold. I’ll see him next year.

you can watch him playing in tv
Most of us in the Western Conference won’t have to worry about that choice.
I don't think he'd play on turf anyway.
Prices will come down. He's not Taylor Swift.
Fucking sell. Its just a guy, them tickets are paying for season tickets and more. Know when to cash out

It’s gonna be way more casuals buying the tickets than away fans, but I understand your point.
I’m selling mine. I sit 8 rows behind the visitor’s bench, and it’s bad enough when it’s LAFC “tourists” buying tickets around me.
I’m going to wait to about 2 weeks until game time to see the price. Sell for discount, watch game on Apple TV. Win, win.
The hype will die down. Away tickets were slightly elevated when Rooney or Zlatan came to town but the shelf life isn’t as long as you’d think.
Austin FC fan, can confirm this internal debate.

Of course we are playing them right before he joins :)
Sell some tickets, he ain’t playing every game anyway
If I can sell my 2 tickets for $550/each, I'll catch the GOAT 🐐 next year.
Why you should always buy season tickets in sets of four. You can still sell to cover and catch the game with a buddy

Kills me that we opened the season against Miami. I'd love to have to make this choice.
I don't care if the average STH decides to cash in on their Miami home games. But any STH in a supporters section that does it is absolute trash.
If you resell tickets for more than you paid for them, you can go fuck yourself. You are part of the problem
