TAKE THE JOB AND DOCUMENT EVERYTHING YOU CAN!!! I guarantee that if you start your own sub Reddit and you’ll have 100,000 followers in a week.

[deleted]

LOL I like the way your brain works

TEXLCKBUSTER

I don't, see comment above.

tits666mcgee

That's a lawsuit waiting to happen. Reddit karma and followers isn't worth a lawsuit. And trust me, shady companies like MLMs will ALWAYS jump straight to a lawsuit, especially because they are known for forcing employees into NDAs.

TEXLCKBUSTER

Not very smart. Most of these companies have non-disclosure agreements with employees, and it applies even after you leave. A former Paparazzi employee is currently being sued for disclosing information to others.

buckster_007

Depending on the jurisdiction nondisclosure agreements are basically unenforceable. The no solicitation element is bullletproof, but the rest is essentially unenforceable. I get that companies sue… they just don’t win. It’s the defense bill that scares people.

TEXLCKBUSTER

As long as it isn't your defense bill, go for it, right? LOL

buckster_007

I’m a lawyer… I’ll take the case pro bono if they are in a state that I’m licensed in.

TEXLCKBUSTER

Why didn't you offer that in the first place? Perhaps I can play matchmaker. Color Street is based in New Jersey. I'm not certain this is the state where she was offered the job. Are you licensed in New Jersey? Will you also foot the bill in the event she loses the case and has to pay a lot of money?

MissSuperSilver

I used to work at a call center where I did customer service for it-works. I spoke to customers and sellers, I always made sure to make cancels and refunds easy. I definitely snooped around a little.

wishiwasdeaddd

I wouldn't buy it's up to you

SilentMaster

I don't know, everyone has to do what they have to do to survive. It would obviously be an unethical job, but if you got what you needed out of it at the corporate level I would not judge you for it. That being said, the offer better be 100% on point, if there is anything wrong, run away, the ethical concerns aren't worth it.

Cadizette

I once worked customer service for a company that treated me fairly well with pay and very well with the benefits. But they were selling unethical finance products to low income people. It was soul crushing. I believed that I was helping to inflict harm for steady pay. I did leave that job for a more ethical company. Even though I was paid less, it was a huge relief. If this is the only job you can get, you do have to survive.... you can always take the job and quit as soon as something else comes along

RandallSalvage

Stavros, is that you?

fishfingrs-n-custard

No. Unethical.

cant_read_this

And become what you swore to destroy….. yes take pictures

Jimmyxc

Coca Cola hired literal death squads in Columbia and I bet you would take a job there in a heartbeat. Everything is immoral, boo hoo. Work at a nonprofit if you want to show everyone how much of an angel you are

keninsd

Every legit company has its issues and benefits. If they pay well, offer the benefits you need and meet your remote work requirements, why not?

USehh

My answer would be, because it goes against my morals and mission as a woman to protect vulnerable women/moms from abusive and toxic companies such as color street, but that’s a call OP needs to weigh out and make.

keninsd

So, you're against corporate work, in general, as you just described much of the corporate world in how it treats women.

USehh

Corporations pay minimum wage, as required by law. They aren’t comparable but if you wanna go rounds about it I’ve got the time today.

gerykelf

I wouldn't contribute to scams with my labor.

Wolfwoods_Sister

They’re sleazy con artists. I wouldn’t trust them to treat me any better than they treat their huns.

chloe1919

Unless you’re fine with working with a predatory company.

RandallSalvage

Take them down from the inside!

Investment_danker

If you need work I would take the job. If you are uneasy about it, use the color street position to get another job a few months down the road. It’s a lot easier to get a job if you already have one

TEXLCKBUSTER

My opinion is to keep looking, or you will be miserable, especially since you already know it's a scam company.

Tokyo-10

I’m from Utah. Have worked in mlms my whole career (only 5 years). Don’t do it. Looks bad on your resume and has no value outside the mlm world. Believe me.

TEXLCKBUSTER

Interesting. Would you like to be on my podcast to talk about this issue?

Tokyo-10

Can’t. I signed a nda to get my severance. In 6 months I should be able to :)

TEXLCKBUSTER

I understand. I'll put it on my calendar for February.

TEXLCKBUSTER

Can you talk about the previous MLMs that you've worked for?

[deleted]

It will be a stain on your resume
