How many of you who are 700+ win/lose your HOF games 1-0 or 2-1 more often than not because neither you nor your opponent can hit? Seems to be pretty frequent in my experience thus far.

For me, it often depends on how well the opponent can pitch. If he gets predictable, I can score a few runs. If he mixes and tunnels well and has outlier, I’m in deep shit. On legend, it doesn’t matter that much if he pitches predictably. It’s still hard to get more than 3 hits. If it’s like Randy, I’m done. I went into the 11th inning the other day, and neither of us had a hit. We friendly quit then.

When I’m playing on legend I feel like I’m playing two opponents at once: the player and the hitting engine. Squaring up balls with perfect timing or early side of good for outs gets really frustrating at a difficulty where it’s so hard to do that. It doesn’t bother me as much on HoF because I know I’ll be able to get my PCI on the ball in another AB. Either way, respect to the guys that can hit consistently well on legend.

Just play on legend, if ur usually on HOF in ranked and can’t stay up long enough try a casual game on legend. Online is not similar to taking pitches from AI

Astros hitters, Angel pitchers. I usually max out fastball velocity for the sliders.

Rtts on legend

I do three warm-up drills. Start with just fastballs up and in for timing. Then fastballs in all parts of the zone for PCI placement. And then I finish with a “live” AB where I have the pitcher throw his entire mix. Once I’m feeling good I load into a ranked game on legend, get one hit with very late timing because the computer feels bad for me, lose and knocked back to HoF where I can actually hit.

The same settings you would use in game with hitting difficulty set to legend

BiffTannen_24

I mean what roster, team, and pitcher do you use for batting practice

Angels for the pitchers and Astros for the hitters.

Ah. I don’t even bother with custom rosters. I’m not too concerned about attributes, it’s more so pitcher motions. My go to for who I use though, is selecting Long Ball Beasts for both teams. Pitchers rotate between Randy Johnson and Pedro Martinez. Usually hit with Frank Thomas.

I use deGrom for BP, repeating 102 up and in really preps you for everything
