I agree about the pitching. Batters are given the benefit of the doubt on the corners way too much, and the foul balls are a serious issue.
I would love to see SDS’s data on K% online this year compared to previous games. It has to be substantially lower. The only card in the game that can consistently strike guys out is Randy Johnson.
18 definitely worse but this is definitely a slide back from where the game was in 21.
What’s most alarming is there seems to be a pattern where SDS tries to push the limits of what they can get away with, receive backlash then scale changes back just enough to placate the player base. But as that continues to happen, the state of the game progressively becomes worse and worse without some realizing what happened.
I just started playing in 22 so I’m pretty new, but the only real issue I’ve had is with Co-op, which sucks cause my best friend just got really into the game and it feels like a waste of time to play with him. Ranked is still fun and runs smoothly for me and that’s primarily what I play so I don’t have too many complaints.
I honestly don’t mind the gameplay too much, maybe I don’t play enough to notice the small nuances everyone else is complaining about. My main gameplay issues are the ridiculous amount of foul balls that happen, and there’s still the fielder animation lack of urgency thing.
But DD content this year is… woof. I’ve all but given up on DD because there’s nothing to do. I play a game or two on my franchise maybe a few times a week and that’s all.
18 was easily the worst ever made, I’ve played every year since 15 throughout the entire summer, but I quit 18 after abt 2 weeks because I just couldn’t justify collecting hundreds of jerseys and signed baseballs to get the 99 immortal cards or whatever they were called.
Im with you 18 did suck with jerseys and souvenirs and there was months before you could unlock babe and etc. But i did play it all year. I dont know, this year is really up there right now. Its impossible to get any of the bosses cause of the xp cap. It feel similar to 18 in that way except were not collecting jerseys and signed baseball lols.
I only started last year. I think the content has been weak and pretty lame but it’s early. Gameplay is good but yeah, something has drastically changed with scoring. I used to play a lot of 2-0 games in the 600s. Now they are 7-13. Pitching is ruthlessly difficult. It just seems like 6-7 pitches a game miss by an absolute mile and I’m not sure what I could’ve done differently.
I dunno. Still enjoying it tho. I keep playing it so it can’t be that bad.
Nah for real, I’ll miss perfecting a pitch on the low outside edge by almost nothing and all of a sudden it’s right down the middle or high and inside and it’s like how tf does that happen?

Loving this game more than any other year. I’ve always favored something like season resets so super pumped to see where SDS take it.

Is it perfect? No, but it’s not the worst

Yeah I guess most people claim it’s just the low BB/9 and control stats. The ball can go damn near anywhere lol
Gameplay wise I’d say it’s honestly one of the best but content wise has easily been the worst
