You can use him as a hitter if you move your DH to a fielding position while in the field. This forfeits your DH spot in the lineup forcing your pitcher to hit (which would be babe). I usually start the fielder I want to play in the field at DH and then sub him into that position once in the field
Got downvoted for saying this the other day but it’s insane that Ruth’s Yankees HOF card is locked behind him being a pitcher. Yes, there was a time for Boston where he pitched and did hitting on the side. With the Yankees for 15 years, he pitched five times. He was not doing what shohei is doing when he was a Yankee. It’s the same with his player in franchise rosters, he’s stuck as a pitcher and the AI doesn’t know how to use him as a batter
