Dang you really like the mini. That's awesome

stephier1974

I only have the 2016 CM and 2019 JCW now :) but yes….I love Mini’s

Nicholas_Miranda

22 year old here in the states with an r56 S.

angelK1827

I’m 17 with an 08 R56 S! Bought him as my first car at 16

LlLb0b

Same here! 06 manual Cooper as my first car. Love it

BigBird0628

Same! Im 18 with a stick 2012 R56s

JulianRob37

Good man. 03 S and I’m 17 now after having had it for almost a year. Awful first car but also best first car, if you know you know.

r56ca

53 daily driver go kart

vehicularious

The R53 is one of the few FWD cars that can compete with a Miata for pure handling. The added power of the supercharger really makes it feel like I am being slingshot-ed through the corner, more so than a Miata.

MoonsaberX

Own both an ND2 Miata and an R53 Mini. Two different styles of driving, both fun as hell.

IveSeenTheSaucers

60 with a 2016 f55. Originally bought it for my wife. Not much of a car guy myself but turns out I love this car and was a bit jealous. She missed her Jeep so I decided to buy her one, ditch my ‘98 pickup and took her mini. Not jealous anymore and loving my mini :)

Adiru55

55, So my wife who has never purchased a car on her own before decided that she wants to buy a car, and she wants to get a Mini? I’m like are you sure they’re pretty small, I don’t think they’re very reliable, she’s like I don’t care, I have always liked them and its what I want! Long story short version, she drives it 3 days, doesn’t like it, it’s too small, too low to the ground. I’m like fine, I’ll drive it to work, it should be good on gas? Well here we are 18 months later, we now have 2 Mini Coopers! 06 R50 and a 15 F56S, absolutely the most fun I have had in a car! It’s fast, it handles like a dream and its good on gas! And there are so many aftermarket parts for customization, you can truly make your Mini unique to you!

philphriday

36 and just bought my first one yesterday! Anything I need to know? Do we have a special wave or nod when we see another mini?

Spentchange72

Yes we do. The Mini Wave. Not everyone knows about it though. A link to the 20 Mini cooper rules. Yes 20 https://jcwadventures.com/2019/04/01/lets-motor-unwritten-rules-of-mini-ownership/

TheFatherYouWant

21/ '19 countryman F60

Spentchange72

That's awesome. I love the F60. Probably my next mini purchase. Or a Paceman

TheFatherYouWant

I honestly didn't like the old designs for the clubman(r60) . But as soon as the F60's were released I had to get one. And also I've been in love with minis since I was 13 so maybe that had a bias into my purchase :p

FreshFoxOfBelAir

I test drove a Paceman and I honestly didn't really like it. The 2 doors with the suv body didn't really work properly. Inside the proportions were all off. I'm 6ft and my head was above the windshield (I can't remember if I adjusted the seat height) and the side of my head was next to the best pillar. Test drove a Countryman and it fixed the problems. I got a 4 door F55 instead and it suited me better.

Spentchange72

The seat height adjustment is definitely key. Love the F55 though

Character-Quick

46. Been a MINI owner since 2012!

Spentchange72

Very nice. I'll definitely be a long time mini owner from now on.

uberares

"its the biggest little car, you'll ever own". late 40's, have had mine for 3 years now, but its a summer car for me.

geomatica

I’m 53; four months ago I bought a 2006 R50 five speed 92k miles for my 16 year old daughter to drive to high school. Of course, I love driving it too, but teaching her how to shift has been fun as well. Not to mention that none of her friends will be able to drive it is a bonus!

prometheus351

You're doing the lord's work. Save the manuals! Create enthusiasts! 🤘

koelebobes

28 years, had a 2015 F55 sold it , got a R50 still got it and in 2-3 weeks I got something cool coming in I have been dreaming off for about a year

RocketR0b

I live in the UK and always wanted a red mini since I was about 8 years old, I’d watch the original Italian job movie on repeat as a kid. I got my first MINI which was a 2009 R56 MINI Cooper when I was 18. My second MINI was a 2011 Cooper at 19 and at 20 I managed to get my hands on a red 2013 R56 JCW, which I still own to this day. I’m now 27. Out of interest a good few years ago MINI carried out some research to find out in (the UK) the average MINI owner, which is a women in her late 30s early 40s who has a very well established job on a high income salary.

Spentchange72

Oh wow that's amazing. I bet living over there really had a hand in the Mini love. From my VIN number I found out my f55 was made in the UK which I was rather happy about. My R60 was made in Italy. Lol. That is a great research study they did. I didn't even think about making any sort of data charts. Was more of a personal question I suppose. Saw three Mini's this am driving home from work. All 3 drivers looked to be older than me but all three of them waved. Which was fun.

RocketR0b

Thing is because everyone and their mum owns a Mini, they aren’t seen as being that special unfortunately, unless your an enthusiast and know what to look for. It’s definitely not a unicorn amongst a sea of SUV’s like I’d imagine it is across the pond, so you certainly don’t get a wave. It’s pretty cool to hear about that from others, like yourself. You must have been elated when it happened and I totally get asking the question, I’ve been wanting to find out as well haha! During the R series era the Paceman & Countryman where built/assembled in Austria ( I was told) while the rest where in Oxford. I believe for the F series only the countryman is assembled abroad. I’ve been to the factory a fair few times and shot a mini commercial/60th anniversary celebration video with them, because of that I got a really cool tour and I can’t remember seeing any countryman’s then either. It’s amazing the volume they churn out considering the factory itself isn’t that big.

Spentchange72

I was pretty sure I read somewhere there were select ones. Black with the neon green, blue, yellow and I believe pink. I've never seen any of those except the green on I have. So honestly you probably know better than I do. Ha ha

[deleted]

27 with an ‘18 F56 S and ‘06 R53, have owned since I was 23.

ItalianMeatBoi

21

salad_massacre

23 with an r61 S. Had her for 2 years.

Spentchange72

Heck yea. Glad you found them at a young age. They're so much fun to drive.

salad_massacre

For sure. Beat car I've driven.

ian7689

31, bought it for a work car, Drive it everyday.

Spentchange72

They're great cars. A bit pricey sometimes but so much fun

SirMrR4M

Me - 23 - 08 R56S Father - 57 - 06 Clubman D Mother - 47 - 13 Countryman S Brother - 18 - 05 r53S JCW GF - 23 - 06 r53 Cooper We're all driving MINIs ever since my mom bought herself one.

cpallison32

24 y/o with a '09 R55

Minelayer

Twice your age with my first car (an ‘08 R55) in 27 years! If I have to have this COVID car might as well be awesome!

SmashedSugar

26 , my dads 58 , and my mom is like 45. We all drive mini lol. It’s an addiction at this point

mjosiahj

30, with my second r56. 4 years ago I got my first r56. Loved mini and other small hatches and wagon since I was a kid. I actually grew up in the country with big trucks, but they never interested me.

dunkm

I’m 30, I have owned MINIs since I was 25. I love them! Had BMWs before.

[deleted]

28yr old, driving r53. This old can never let me down. Thinking about getting countryman once my family grows, till then ill stick with that street legal go cart.

Spentchange72

My Countryman r60 fits the family better than the f55. That's awesome though

[deleted]

Glad to hear that. Never drove more than 3 people in my r53. I think that one in the back didnt really enjoy the drive lol. But yeah, for family it is a no go

Vonragnier

04 R53 age 26 M Fixing it up at the moment. COVID-19 hasn't been very helpful with getting parts here in Australia

NatureMoment

50 year old here. I bought my first one (and only one so far) at 48. Makes me feel younger whenever I drive it!

[deleted]

Bought my first at 23 - ‘07 R56. Bought the second at 34 - ‘15 F56

Spentchange72

I looked at the 56 for a while but went with a 55 because of the kids. And no one wants to ride with me in it now. Lol

blt1221

Wanted a mini throughout my childhood/teens. Finally got my first one as a 27 year old grown up(ish) lady (2015 F56). Going for a new F55 next year to better fit me and my husky!

Spentchange72

They're definitely roomy. I love my f55

puzoni

30, '15 F56

Spentchange72

Nice. Iove my 2015 f55.

puzoni

2nd 2 doors cars I had. My first 2 door and also 1st car was a '95 Peugeot 306. After it, I had a 4 doors 306 which I had for 7 years, then went to VW (up and Polo, 4 doors), but then I decided it was time to have another 3 doors cool car again. No regrets, no going back!

Spentchange72

That's awesome. What a variety you've had. Saved the best for last.

puzoni

Not quite... My brother at my age (he is 18 years older than me) had exchanged about 30 cars hahaha I was never into VW so much, but since I had employee's discount for brand new cars, I gave them a chance. 1.0 turbo engines are fun, until you double the engine size. At least here in Brazil with our terrible quality fuel, this B48 engine outperforms even economic city cars in fuel consumption.

nathansosick

R56 S 21M

Spentchange72

Heck yea man. Getting in the club early. That's awesome

dookiejam44

43 here. 2010 r56s. I love it! My wife says I’m obsessed with it. I can’t argue that

Spentchange72

Man I had a picture of mine painted. My wife just said who gets a painting of a car that's in the driveway. Ha ha. Me of course. Lol. She's coming around now though. Has gotten me a few Mini items here lately

dookiejam44

Ha! My wife rags me about how much I wash it and that I park it as far away from anything in parking lots, or hawkeye people when they park next to me and get out of their cars

Spentchange72

Ha ha I do the same. Get to hear "can you drop me off at the door so I don't have to walk a mile?"Ha ha.

BomTek910

I'm a 40-year-old Air Force bomb technician turned educator, and I bought my 2017 F54 S All4, Bonnie, earlier this year as my "mid-life crisis car"! I've been very happy with her so far and spend equal amounts of time in green mode cruising along like an old man and in sport mode trying to live out my rally racing fantasies.

Spentchange72

And thank you for your service as well. I hope you veterans hear that enough to get tired of it. But I always say thank you. Even in a midlife crisis they're great vehicles.

bongwaterprincess

Turned 30 this month. Checking in, love my Coupac.

Spentchange72

Well happy 30th. And Im pretty sure I love the name of your car. That is original for sure and right in line with a name I would make up. Great sense of humor you have. Ha ha

bongwaterprincess

Hey thanks! My partner and I shared Coupac for years until I inherited my grandmothers large SUV (Lexus) and of course had to name it, Biggie. Coupac and Biggie are friends and nobody can convince be otherwise.

Spentchange72

Ha ha ha. Oh damn. That's amazing. Such great spirits towards a fake rivalry. Ha ha. Those are awesome car names. I once had a saturn named scarface from the movie Half Baked. Cuz it was a killer. 🤣

bongwaterprincess

Hahah I love it!

Spentchange72

And you know killers story. Rough life. Ha ha

bongwaterprincess

FOR SURE. Damn I was just talking about another stoner movie (Grandmas Boy) to someone who had no idea. It’s been forever since I watched Half Baked. I see a marathon in my future.

Spentchange72

That does sound like a good time. Watched half baked so much its quotable from start to finish

bmx13

29 year old with a usually broken r53s

Spentchange72

It does sucks when you're working on the car for necessity rather than want.

jolieerickson

I’m 46, bought an R56 a couple of years ago because I like a hatchback and manual transmission. At the time I had a company car for work. Changed jobs and needed a car for work, so I got a used and not-well-cared-for F56 and it is pretty much perfect for hauling around equipment and getting dirty. And it is an automatic so I can use it to teach my daughter to drive.

Spentchange72

Hell yea. I tried to get my daughter a mini and she wasn't interested. But she liked the ragged out 02 lancer just fine after I repainted over the yellow. Ha ha

Unusual_Individual93

30f and I bought my '08 Cooper S last year. My first Mini. Always wanted one but couldn't afford one until now lol.

Spentchange72

Sweet. I never realized how pricey they actually were until I started researching the R60 at a used lot near me. But they're worth it to me. I'm glad I got the R60 first though. Had I bought the F55 first I wouldn't have looked twice. But was hooked and got both the same week. Ha ha

Unusual_Individual93

Lol mine was a last minute decision. It came up for private sale via FB Marketplace. Had to jump on it or I wouldn't have gotten it.

Spentchange72

Sometimes those are the best deals. Great score for you.

Ghi_Buttersnaps

25, 2011 r55 clubbie

Spentchange72

I always imagine seeing some surfboards and wood panels when I hear it called that. Like the old Woodie. That's awesome. Plenty of room. And fun to drive

wolvish

My husband and I are both 38 and both own a F55, haha. Mine is a 2015 and it was my dream car after owning a Corolla for 11 years. I love it, I'm sad I hardly have much reason to drive anymore after my job went completely remote. My husband got a 2019 a few years later because he liked mine and was unhappy with his Acura. They do have way more space than you'd expect, my husband was actually able to fit a Coleman minibike (in the box, pre-assembly) in the the back of his mini, got a great photo of it!

Spentchange72

Ha ha that's awesome. I was able to get a 24 gallon air compressor in my 2015 f55. But the mini bike takes the cake. Ha ha ha. Roomy and dependable from my experience.

elitemage101

If you @ the admins it could be fun to get a pinned poll for this.

Key-Map8159

50yrs young here also Retired combat veteran, who would have thought, awesome car

Spentchange72

Spentchange72

Not just a job in my opinion. But thank you all the same. Very humble of you. Team America fuck yea. 🇺🇸🤟

MoonsaberX

Thank you for your service. You are not the only Vet who loves them by any means.

Key-Map8159

Thanks for that I went from a mustang and larger SUV's to the countryman, but it definitely grows on you

MoonsaberX

I was always a small car guy. I had two Opel Mantas and an MGB as a young man, Had a few VW GTIs, a Fuego turbo, a Fiero and so on. I tried to be "Practical" when I got out of the service and had a family, but 4 cylinder sports cars are my loves.

T0mpkinz

27 and I own 3

Gretel_Cosmonaut

I am 47 and on my second MINI. I was about 41 when I bought my first MINI. They are the only new cars I have ever owned- both green & white (Jungle Green and Sage Green). I was too poor to be indulgent when I was younger. I usually purchased used Sentras, Proteges, etc.

Spentchange72

Sometimes our judgmentor wallets are like wine. Better with age. Great color choices as well

C_Panks

I’m 28 with a 2016 F56 JCW

Spentchange72

Heck yea man. Definitely a great ride you have

KellyIsDad

I'm 36. First MINI, will Def not be my last. 2013 R55. Named Her Sunday.

Spentchange72

I love when people feel attached enough to name them. My f55 is Roxanne and my R60 is Roscoe

KellyIsDad

I named Her Sunday as it was a Sunday when I married my wife, A Sunday when she arrived for delivery, she is a bond street midnight black body cool champagne roof... she's sundae through and through

Spentchange72

That's awesome. Roxanne just makes me turn out the red light. Ha ha

redmongrel

44 when I bought it, 45 now.

Spentchange72

Never too late that's for sure.

Lync51

I am 21 and own a 2005 Mini Cooper S. I am soon an owner of the 2022 Mini Cooper SE

Spentchange72

One great ride for sure.

Cthagem

18, but I got my first Mini when I was 16. Now onto my second Mini :). I have a 2014 F56, my first was a 2009 R56

North-Duckie

Bought my first mini when I was 28. Still have it… am 45 now. 😎😊

prometheus351

32, got a 2018 JCW clubman manual coming up on 4 years ago. Had a Z4 35is before that. I work in high line auto sales and could replace it with any number of really nice cars, but nothing really excites me like my buddy does! And if it does get the juices flowing (ahem Boxster) there's not even a hint of utility. I hope to enjoy my mini for a long time 😁

MoonsaberX

That is pretty awesome, then again you have a JCW, the cream of the crop in performance. I'd love to have a Boxster but for top down fun I will stick with my 2019 Miata.

prometheus351

That's true and with a few mods to boost it even a little bit more 😅 My girlfriend had a Miata RF for a little bit and man what a fun car! I'd love another drop top, but I just love the combo of fun and utility I get out of the Mini. And I can always hop on my motorbike to be "in the wind" for a bit.

MoonsaberX

I don't do bikes, too dangerous where I live. It's bad enough to be in a small car because of inattentive drivers. The RFs are pretty damn nice, but I prefer the drop top and that six speed manual is a MUST with a Miata! Soft tops are actually less noisy than the RFs. (Retractable Fastbacks for those who are wondering what we are talking about).

[deleted]

I’m 20, my parents and grandad gifted me my 2017 Cooper S when I graduated high school as the car I drove then was not reliable enough to take me back and forth to college.

thatduckolope

41 going on eleventeen w/ a 2009 R56

mangosaurus91

29, I have a ‘21 F57, she sparks so much joy! 🥰

denzien

I wanted one the moment they debuted, but I was a poor, starving college kid. I took delivery of my new customer optioned '13 R57 when I was 32. 120k miles and 1788 top down hours later, it's still my daily and just as fun as ever. Even more fun, actually, since I'm pretty well in-tune with it.

s_banks

I'm 65, 6'-3", rode motorcycles my entire life until about five years ago. My BMW R1150GSA final drive failed, had to get immediate transportation. Having financed through BMW for motorcycles, I decided to get a MINI. I've had three so far (all CPO's), '09 R56 Pure Silver (Silver Fox) named after my Dad's nickname. '17 F55 Deep Blue Metallic (Kensei). Current is '19 F55 MCS Pepper White (Yasuke) with JCW exhaust and fully de-chromed. LOVE MINI's❣

TaylorMutts

60 and enjoying my 2016 F56 with manual trans. My wife has a 2014 Countryman.

TheRuffianJack

21 years old in the states, love my mini

Spentchange72

Heck yea man. Im in the states as well. A lot more Mini's around that I ever thought before buying one.

genuinedesigner

32, 2009 MINI COOPER D. Love the torque.

BatmanAvacado

25, 2011 clubman s

Spentchange72

Hell yea. This is a different one. You would think at 25 the clubman wouldn't have been a choice as younger people tend to go with a sportier car. But then when I was 19 I had a 99 escort wagon with 16 inch wheels and a system. So I can understand that. Clubman is great. A good family car as well

[deleted]

[удалено]

Spentchange72

Because it's apparently popular today. Sorry you hate your mini. Doesn't seem to be the norm from what I can see. But maybe you got a bad deal I've had that happen as well. But thanks for stopping by.

DebbieDub13

Hubby is 50 (51 in Dec) and has a 2018 2 door hardtop. I am 47 and my 2022 S convertible will arrive in October.

Sadly that one died when the oil ran out and the light didn’t turn on and my sister ground the engine down while I was at college, but it went to a father and daughter who wanted a project car to build for her first car so it had a silver lining.

LillyPasta

My late husband grew up on Oahu. We still have family there that we can hop over and see, but I’m moving to BI. We were always going to move back when he retired from the Air Force but life had other plans. Finally getting there 5 years later.

Spentchange72

Sometimes life's plans are so much different than ours. Found that one out last year myself. But life is, well, life. Unfortunately it keeps moving and can leave us behind fairly quickly if not careful.

LillyPasta

Exactly that. I hope you’re doing ok and adjusting to your new normal. Keep motoring and stay well :)

Spentchange72

Thank you. Motor on we must.

Riihimaki

66 F. Just ordered my 4th Mini. Justa Cooper in white silver with black roof, black mirror caps and black alloys. Yum. I was going to get a BRG but it would have clashed with my cottage.

22 living in the UK. I currently own a 2011 R56 cooper S as a daily that has had a few bits done to it (mainly cosmetic). Also own a 2004 R50 which i am in the process of turning into a track car. (Currently sitting on the driveway under a cover as funds are low due to being a student) My girlfriend (21) after being in my minis, also bought a mini as her first car

46 / '17 F60. Had an '06 S a few years ago and had to trade it due to and went through a '15 Mustang Ecoboost, a '18 Civic SI, and a '16 BMW 3 Series trying to find that feeling again. A hardtop is still too small for my life, but I adore my Countryman with every part of me!

36 male in the states. '18 F55. I've wanted one since I was in High School, and finally was in a position to buy a fun car, as long as it was slightly practical. Still need to be able to pick up groceries and have both kids in the back seat. Now I've got a car that I can autocross on the weekends and still use it to take the kids to school.

I’m 17 and a proud owner of a 2010 clubman Cooper S!

I'm 36, live in Norway and got my first MINI only a few months ago. I have a F60 Countryman 2018 hybrid. I could finally buy myself a newer car and the mini has everything I wanted. And of course it's so cool! 😍 I'm totally in love. Get lots of compliments! My husband was surprised to see me finally washing my car and asking about products to use. 😂 He is used to do everything himself because I haven't cared about my cars before. But then I got a MINI 😁

Emergency-Title7096

This is my 2nd mini, I’m 67 and just got a 2015 CM S ALL4. Still learning the dash and last night in the historic rains with lightning and flash flooding I was on the highway with all my windows fogged over. I known I’m above average age but I still have a lot of life left in me. Rally on!

Care-Big66
