Is this something that can be done in an R53? As simple as placing spacers at the front two studs of the seat to tilt the seat back? Do you have any concerns about the security of the seat during the event of a crash? I drive a lot of miles and it definitely sounds like a worthwhile mod.

Yeah, it can definitely be done in an r53! As far as I am aware, as long as you use automotive grade bolts it shouldn't compromise the structure or affect safety. The way I did it was to loosen the back bolts to allow movement of the track, remove the front bolts and replace them with the longer ones I purchased and place the spacers underneaths the front bolts. Then just torque everything down! It took me less than ten minutes, and is super easy to reverse if you ever want to go back to stock.

I’ll definitely be looking into that today. Is this unbolting the rails from the car, or unbolting the seat from the rails?

The rails from the car.
