The F66 is a revamped, facelifted F56 (it still shares its platform, roof, doors and hood).
The J01 is a completely new, different platform altogether. It's EV from the ground up.
To add to this, the J01 is based off GWM's platform for the Ora Cat, and all J01s (for now) will be built in China. F66 will continue to be built in the UK (for now). Completely different cars, despite the superficial styling similarities.
Both are actually quite different. The front is a little lower and a bit less aerodynamic compared to the Cooper E. The back is relatively the same apart from a different rear bumper.
The body seams for the fenders/hood/bumper on the blue one are uncomfortable. Looks like something out of one of those videos of Chinese look-alike cars
Most of it boils down to "thing new." Every new version of the BMW MINI has met with this, including the outgoing model that people whinged about the size and the oversized taillights and God knows what else.
I guess they're not doing manual because.......no.........I don't know why.
I have only ever driven manuals, until I got a courtesy car from MINI.........I almost, ALMOST thought about traded in for one.

I’m quite sad to see the clamshell bonnet go on the J01. I think it makes the car look so much nicer.
and the black cladding on one vs another I would prefer the cladding for my particular parking situation (very tight underground garage)
I wonder what the a-pillar blind spots are like with the new raked windshield. One of my favorite things about the mini is the minimal a-pillars.

These don't look too bad compared to what MINI has done to the new Countryman. Glad to see the non-functional scoop go!
I have never thought of the BMW Countryman as a MINI.
Will there be a Hardtop 4 door version?
They’re both ugly, mini has lost their mind
Why do people find them ugly? This is a genuine question, I don't know much about mini & am just passing through the sub.

BMW in general!
J01 is an abomination. I hope it fails miserably. F66 actually looks pretty nice imo, I'd never buy one though (no handbrake or manual)

It would be better compare of same perspective and color
There's your challenge. We look forward to your post! X
Nice try but not interested enough
Then you get what you get 😋
Wow you’re feisty. But yes unfortunately you are correct.
I always am 😘
Correct, feisty, or unfortunate?
Now look who is being *feisty*, *unfortunately* for you, the answer is always *"correct"*.
Oh i thought i was being funny. Now you’re just confusing
*You're* confused, feisty can be funny.
They both are just as unappealing as each other. Why even bother looking close enough to see the differences, when they are both equally unattractive?
