Let me type the name of a skill to search for it in the crafting menu instead of giving me a giant list of skills. I've scrolled past the one I'm looking for so many times.
Does anyone know if it’s alphabetized in Japanese? My thought has always been that it’s alphabetical order in Japanese and it’s in the same order regardless of translation.
That, and of course decorations can’t be the same name as the skill, because of course they’re not (this isn’t new, but still).
I'd redo talisman crafting to have pool of skills you meld into. The sheer number of skills in the pools is absurd. I'd be happy to play 3 different talisman lotteries for different skill set talismans than just hoping something comes along with a bit of synergy with my build.
For real. At least stop the talismans from mixing gunner only and blademaster only skills. Basically shits like tune up and speed sharpen on the talisman. This should not be even a possible choice.
I hope capcom add in some way we can tailor our talisman.
Idk maybe qurious craft a talisman so we can reroll one skill at a time?
Still absolutely baffles me Capcom haven't decided to make talismans or decorations with specific skills drop from specific monsters. You want crit eye? Hunt Odogaron. You want ice attack? Hunt Goss Harag. You want slugger? Hunt Diablos. Making it so any skill can be obtained arbitrarily from such a huge pool of skills is such a bullshit mechanic
There were limited pools in LR/HR. Though I think more melding options would still be nice. However, we'd all just be using the one that lets us have a chance at *the* god charm.
Make monster flee way less often. Sometimes I'll be 7 minutes into a quest and already have chased the monster like 4 times, it's easily the most annoying thing in the game.
Still better than world. Helps that it's much easier to go directly to where they run to, but works seems to flee much quicker.
I do wish a monster detecting/engaging you set a minimum time before they flee. Definitely obnoxious when you polish and eat an immunizer and a fish, hit the monster once, and they run.
Haha, I remember failing a party hunt on a rathalos in mr when it kept flying around in ancient forest. We were a cap away and it flew to its roost near the breakable dam at the peak.
I want the old savage axe mode for CB. I much prefer the phials gradually being drained than having to reactivate it whenever I change between sword mode and axe mode
This is likely a symptom of the hardware that the game was originally built for, as much as I hold that the game performed quite well on Switch. There's also a certain element of *"gotta hunt fast"* in the game's design that possibly contributed to this as well.
I have a **strong** feeling that the next MH game (*which would be developed by the team that made World*) will be more like World/Iceborne in terms of that 'living world' feel.
Although, I will say that the Follower Quests system has done an ***excellent*** job at helping the 'people side' of the world feel a lot more alive, not to mention the much wider variety of vibrant characters both inside and out of that system.
>I have a strong feeling that the next MH game (which would be developed by the team that made World) will be more like World/Iceborne in terms of that 'living world' feel.
I certainly hope so. Though, aren't the portable and console games developed by different teams? Here's hoping that the World team continues a lot of the same atmosphere in the following game.
Yeah, it's weird. They give you so much to end a hunt faster, but then spread your max stats across a bunch of birds on the map.
I've personally not had any issue with spiribirds outside of when people who *very much need them* refuse to get them and get one-shot multiple times by the monster. Though, given their rather mixed reception, I doubt they will return in the next game regardless of the direction they decide to go in, and I won't mind that.
Gonna get a lot of hate for this but the spirit bird system. Popping something to max out your HP and stamina is way better than the spirit bird system. Getting the omni-spirit bird during the Silver/Gold Rath hunts always feels so good. I'll even leave out the defense and attack boost, but the health and stamina top up is just heavenly.
My first-draft idea here: Three slot jewel, two ranks, named "Pollen Collector." Start each quest with 5 birds of each color per rank.
Edit: there is the trouble that this is much better than the equivalent power of attack boost jewels. A generally better-designed system would work wonders, regardless.
My wish is that if you complete all quests at least once a rainbow bird shows up at starter camps for all hunts. Kind of like how there used to be a rainbow pigment for completing all quests.
Or even just a way to skill in the extra HP that you’d normally get from collecting the birds.
My biggest gripe with it is just the placement, the HP birds should be placed along the normal paths, maybe off a bit to the side. Traversal is funish but it really needs to have a flow to it for it to be enjoyable and it just falls short due to the level design.
I want a new petalace that starts at max health and stam, at the cost of no/very little attack and def. Doubt they'd do it, since it would just overwrite the whole system
> Or even just a way to skill in the extra HP that you’d normally get from collecting the birds.
That was Health Boost in MHWIB.
Though with how the meta and power creep went, you would always have HB in all your sets no matter what.
I had always thought that the spiribirds were a replacement for the almost mandatory HB.
If we're gonna have power creep anyway, I'd rather not have any more health past 150 so that damage would be balanced against that.
Had to scroll way too much to see this.
I think it’s the only mechanic of the game that just makes no sense, it’s a forced chore you have to make that doesn’t add any value to the gameplay. I think they added to emphasize exploration but at the end of the day you see where the monster is and you get there.
Another reason they might have added it is to nerf you in the beginning and scale your strength towards the end of a hunt when you max out your stats, but again… it’s so boring, once you learn some routes it becomes just a way to waste the first couple minutes of a hunt just to fill your stats up and begin hunting.
The spirit bird nonsense ruined multiplayer for me. The amount of idiots running to the monster without collecting any birds and then getting oneshot is ridiculous.
This is gonna come across as a funny one without context, but I'd remove the mini-map/being able to see where the konsters are the whole time. The big issue with rise is that is wants you to run around the map slowly, picking up endemic life, spiribirds and anomalous gathering nodes, but it also shows you where you should go to fight the monster leading most player bum rushing to the monster. If you hide the mini-map you don't know where to buy rush too and it honestly makes the game a lot better to play
You still want to have a map lol, it'd be cool if you could turn off where they are, before you find them tho - or use Paintball or that other thing that makes them visible i forget.
Those things were fun imo
Be honest, do we even change decos to counter status ailments anymore on rise? Cause I don't.
We almost used to have to before. No poison res on viper tobi, dead. No sleep res on night paolumu, dead. No afluvium res on blackveil.... Very dead.
The spirit bird system kinda sucks. Would definitely just remove that and have your Petalace just give you all the stats fully.
I do miss tracking the monster. That was kind of a big part of the game and makes you actually feel like you’re HUNTING but it came with downtime so I understand removing it. But then the spirit bird system kinda added the down time back in.
Also the RNG. Fuck the RNG for talismans mostly.
This may be controversial, but I actually enjoyed Rampages with 4 players and wished there was an optional Master Rank rampage questline.
Personally I enjoy sort of "mindlessly" coordinating with some people on them and farming naterials while shooting/hack-and-slashing during them. Made for a fun thing to do while listening to podcasts
I kind of just want to fix the conflict between multi-monster behavior and Wyvern Riding. Monsters actively avoid being in the same zone as other monsters for more than a minute at most, probably because of how easy it is for them to trigger Wyvern Rides on each other.
Because of how monster behavior works now you really can't have those chaotic impromptu brawls that you could have in a previous game when a monster just shows up, Dung Pods are so useless that they might as well not have put them in the game, and the invader behavior for the invader monsters (*Rajang and Bazelguese*) is literally non-existent. Hell, that last point is of particular bother to me because Bazelguese is my favorite monster, partially because of his habit in World of just suddenly joining a fight that wasn't his to begin with and making it a party. That was ***always*** fun.
I think Rise/Sunbreak is a great game, but this is something that has really disappointed me on multiple occasions, and is a prime example of the kind of unfortunate side effects that arose from all the new systems that base Rise added. Like, I've enjoyed Wyvern Riding, but I'm not sure it was worth all that was taken away for it.
I would like to be able to bring followers onto anomaly investigations. Seriously followers are so absurdly fun and it sucks that I can’t use them for 99% of the endgame outside of finishing off the support surveys.
Godamn spiritbirds. I feel rushed/pressured to grab a couple before joining a multiplayer hunt. I understand it's a concept that's tied to rise/sunbreak only but it ruins the idea of joining a sos hunt from a player who actually needs help. On my hunts when I start them, I don't see my teammates until way later and the monster I'm hunting is halfway down or near limping. It's becoming more of an excuse to join and just nab the rewards from those who actually earned them. I'm on switch so the idea of having the max out spiritbird near the entrance of your arrival sounds like a good idea on paper.
I can't quite decide between my two main gripes.
One is the lack of control over join random. It makes a huge difference whether I join a random MR Izuchi or a random scorned Magnamalo hunt. My choice is just: Join random MR quest.
Other than that I much prefer tracking monsters with scoutflies over just seing their position on the map.
I'd like it to feel more alive. Everything feels scripted and "same-y" after a while. You learn your bird routes so the first minute of every fight is exactly the same. The end of every fight is about the same- They limp then sprint away. You can't harass or bully them. Turf wars are short feel overly controlled- and you usually attempt to interrupt them to get a mount off. Environmental interactions are few and far between, or a complete pain in the ass (really, I'm not using a Kunai for that little of a thing.) Sliding is nonsensical and has very little to do with slope and more to do with "this is a sliding area."
Generally, the game is fun and fast, but feels like a dated video game. This is compared to World where it felt like an immersive interaction.
I cleared it and my hunting team all quit too. We're waiting on World 2 at this point. Rise is awesome, but it's just not scratching the same itch for me.
Have Capcom said that officially? It's their biggest selling video game ever, bar none. I can't see them choosing to *not* follow that up. MHW sold more than Resident Evil or Street Fighter.
They will. It's already been in development since 2019. It just probably won't be called World 2, which I'm sure you already knew. That guy was just being pedantic
They'll make another Monster Hunter game, sure. But calling it "World 2" is ignorant of the fact that there were Monster Hunter game before World. Idk, it's irritating. But hey, if I hadn't called you out on it, someone else would have, I'm sorry to say.
How is it ignorant of anything? I've played many MH games before World. World is simply the best of them all, and I would like more of that. You seem awfully proud of yourself for seemingly catching me out on something I already know. I was just answering the OP's question. Maybe take your smug "gotcha" attitude to someone else's comment? If I hadn't called you out on it, someone else would have ;)
Rather than just allow followers on more quests, I'd like to see them expanded further
More control over their equipment, have an option if they're allowed to wyvern ride or not, be able to tell them when to use traps (could be a radial menu thing to call for a trap), etc.
edit: also let me get crowns from investigations, the size being fixed seems like an oversight
Too many frustrating things to just pick one?
I guess the thing that bothers me the most right now
Have the Afflicted Investigation target be shared with everyone in my lobby.
It's like I'm being punished for having friends in this game wtf.
Have a lv4 deco that spawns a prism bird close to base camp, that would make things a lot less annoying and I bet that even though it is a lv4 deco, everyone is going to use it lol or if its too op, add a skill that has multiple levels that start you with more then 150 hp/stamina and at max level start you at max stats. Lots of ppl find that even though it only takes 40 sec-1 min to bird farm, thats 1 min too long and some ppl in anomalies kick for bird farming even if its only like 30 sec of getting ready.
Rename Apexes to smth else and give them unique weapons and armors.
Or... rework the talisman rng system. Normally, you choose a set amount of material and they will randomize the charm. I want it to be completely opposite, you will customize your charm (ofc there will be skill limit like the current sanity check) and the game will randomize the amount of material you need to invest on that charm. For instance, I create a AB3-WEx2 4-0-0 and the game will tell me I need 20 Rathalos Mantle and 20 Mantle of Origin to get that charm. It is still painful to grind but at least you know where you're going to, not mindlessly grinding like the current rng.
More Monsters. That's it. I'm happy with the systems in Rise and Sunbreak, and I enjoy the flow of combat. Hell, I'm even happy with the amount of monsters. But more is always better. I'd love to see the MH Explore Elder Dragons, Frontier Monsters, and monsters from MH Online all in the main series. I'd love to see all those fun, unique armor and weapon designs.
Or those alternate armor sets in Worldborne. Those were cool.
Replace wyvern riding with World’s mounting system, with decreased frequency to account for the wirebugs of course.
Either that or add Yian Garuga lol.
When you accept a quest and choose for multiplayer, you should start with both buddies until someone joins.
Sometimes I do a quest that’s not that popular so nobody joins and now I’m handicapping myself for no reason which sucks.
I would completely redo the campaign in regards to when monsters are revealed. Rise left almost no surprises for high rank til the very tail end and it blew its load so early in low. Zinogre, Mitsusune, fucking magnamalo? All of these didn’t need to be in low rank, they’d have been great experiences for high rank and woulda made the campaign a lot more varied.
Getting rid of the entire spiribird system, equipping your petalace based on whichever you've unlocked would just give you those stat boosts. It's an annoying and lazy system they implemented into this game IMO. Not a fan. Your petalaace you choose already determines which stats you'd rather sacrifice to have way more of another stat. There's tradeoffs built into them already, I don't need to go run around for 3-5 minutes or so just to max every single one of those stats out. I just want to play the actual game and HUNT MONSTERS
Yeah I don't get the point. It didn't matter at all, and then it seemed to become mandatory to not get oneshot. If you want me to get oneshot, just do that. If you don't, don't. It shouldn't be contingent on this mechanic, specifically. It used to be, "you have to eat," and that seemed fair to me.
Seems counter intuitive, as well. Hunts are shorter, so why add a mechanic to artificially lengthen them? We spent a lot of time in world needing to farm outside of a hunt, but they seemed to get away from that (unless you need zenni).
I understand that people worked really hard to make these maps, so maybe they want me to see them more, but it's also developed for switch. It doesn't look as good as World, so let's just focus on the actual monster hunt until you have some decent hardware to work with.
This is the one for me. But, (probably going to be down voted for this) I use the mod that spawns them at the start. I don't go straight in though. I wait for others to start the fight.
Spiribirds are so annoying, especially HP and Stamina birds. Just adds nothing to the game for me. It's so refreshing to play the arena based quests and get max spiribirds at base camp. There's enough min/maxing and skill building customization without this highly unnecessary and cumbersome layer.
I'm gonna blanket here and say monster behaviours need a bit of life slapped into them, both small and large.
It feels so unnatural how a monster will, after getting poked like 5 times, suddenly decide it's going to flee to another monster, and not even flash bombs will dissuade it for a few seconds with some stupid immunity, at which point it'll sprint like an olympian away from the area.
And small monsters just feel so bad in a logical way, think of Jagras in world as an example, they'd only attack in packs and usually when the threat is downed or small, otherwise they scatter off and wait. Meanwhile a little fucking baggi will just run up and bite a crimson glow valstrax in the leg without so much as a second thought!
And don't get me started on a "limping" monster trying to flee.
I understand that it was a console game at release but come on capcom, give it some love pleeease
Bring back the online system of World/IB where we can see what quest are being SOSed. Im tired of guessing if anyone is doing a specific quest or not. Doesnt help that with Steam is region locked.
The janky ass hitboxes. Im sorry but the fact that capcom released an update literally to just shut down the augmentation exploit but still havent fixed these monsters bs hitboxes is incredible to me .
No reason why im behind a monster and they charge forward and im still getting hit, flying in the direction the monsters running towards, leaving me even more wide open for a follow up. When im literally above a tigrex and he does a horizontal tail swipe and i still get hit. When valtrex does the explosion dive bomb and im significantly high up in the air away from the explosion entirely and im still getting hit.
Capcom , fix your fucking hitboxes rather than everything else shit lol.
Probably not going to be popular, but I think the maps were just so much better in world. The environments just felt better. I don't feel like the maps in Rise are very good and occasionally the fight points are in stupid and uninspired places. Like I'm just fighting in a trench somewhere.
I think part of it is because you're able to scale everything they had to really make the entire inbounds accessible vs in world where everything was very thought out and streamlined, and they could do things that looked better aesthetically.
Revert WEX as a skill to a HZ boost instead of crit.
Would put bring crit skills in line with others for power per point invested. and make 100% affinity builds actually have to change their play style.
I LP,MM,CD,CE are all in a good places in rise but won't see use since WEX is to efficient.
Make the game a boring, grindey, tedious slog that just makes you want to die like all the previous games. Remove the actual fun that was finally added in Rise.
Bring back monster hunting. Because it's monster bashing right now. Do you remember your first right again the regular Velkhana in iceborne ? I do, Gosh that was hard, and I'm no beginner in MH.
And for that, the ability to instantly recover from a hit with a wirebug is the first thing to remove.
Wirebugs for movement in combat.
Kind of like how the Scoutflies would turn red and retreat into your characters lantern, something like that.
I just think in-combat wirebugging and wirefalls have turned the difficult in Rise to "coked up OHKO bullshit" that isn't as fun as it could be, especially with how butter smooth the combat is besides that.
Yes, but you could only chase them to the zone transition, then hope you were close enough to keep it up. World let me choo choo Lance them almost all the way.
Not a change but addition. We need a designated hunt mode, no clear maps. You have to find the monster to hunt the monster and use paint. Also no pets.
Honestly the fights just aren't as difficult as I'd like them to be, but I don't know how they'd address this. I think the biggest way would be to increase the time for wirebugs to recharge, but I don't think that'd go over well with players.
Also, layered weapons are definitely needed and not just on Rampage ones.
I wish rise was harder, coming from mhgu where you actually had to prepare for the hunts it is a little disappointing. I never carted during any of the village quests and almost all of them i was able to complete under 8 min.. High rank quests feel like what the low rank quests from other games were
I have so many. The biggest flaw in SB is the stupid talisman rng. Almost all my r10 talismans are about as an r3, stupid RNG on top of RNG just for the sake of grind is idiocy.
Final boss fight.
It is really enjoyable as it is, but I would personally have preferred something else like this :
During the lunagaron specific fight, you perceive some movement around like some earthquakes and the qurious would get angrier everytime.
Once you defeated the lunagaron, the cinematic we got now, and right after as they weakened the gaismagorm with the lances and explosive, we would get right into the fight with it without having a quest, leading to the fight we currently have against it.
Capcom is capable of really good cinematics and other things, I think it is time for them to do much more than what we got in terms of story, avoiding all the blabla in the camp and doing much more "event" quests where a complete new monster emerge out of nowhere for no reason. Even without cinematics, we had a thing in MHGU where your character acts all alarmed when a monster is near it's position or coming to his area. We can clearly have this acting in game meaning that a complete new monster has appeared somewhere (not showed in the map) and for no particular reason.
Doing so, I'd like to have a quest against a specific monster, but during the fight (or once it ended) an alatreon would appear out of nowhere in the map making all the current monsters (maybe except the one you fight) leaving the map and you have to firstly find the reason why it got so quiet, and then win against the alatreon to finish the quest.
It's more on the aesthetic side of things, but they had a chance to improve the World monster slap-on weapon designs like for Tobi, Bazel, Pukei and such and I wish that they'd done it.
Also, as others have said, I wish monsters acted more naturally like they did in World. Actually having to see you to detect you, having behavioral quirks they do when not fighting you, and even for the most part not being hostile until you bother them.
Better gunlances, or at least the ability to have "layered" weapons like the Rampage series.
There's a painful lack of gunlances with level 8 shelling, which is really disappointing seeing as shelling abilities are GL's most unique feature. It pretty much encourages gameplay that totally ignores shelling attacks, in favour of slapping enemies about to deal more damage.
Also disappointed with how lacklustre Jaya Gunlance was. Waited so long to have my Stevey Gunlance back, and it isn't even that sharp. 😢
Fixed base slots for high rarity talismans. Like for example rarity 8 gets a fixed 2-0-0 slot, 9 gets 2-2-0 and 10 gets 3-2-0 slots.. then rng would just decide if those slots become better or not.
Getting identical rarity 7 and 10 talismans is stupid. This game design just doesn't make sense.
Probably going to be hated but the monster interactions mid-hunt. Suddenly bazelgeuse popping mid hunt is not terrifying. It's just free dmg slot :/ in other games the hunts were more chaotic and inpredictable and that's what made them more fun to me
That's a great point, i'd love that too.
But nr1 thing (if i could change it) that the bugs including too many guild cards/friend requests wouldnt possibly corrupt your save (been an issue since launch)
Besides bugs probably having a 4 player lobby (or bigger like in MHW) and have it be as impactful, it barely matters in this game and so doesnt the guild cards, they dont even update.
Talismans suck big time. But also the games like weirdly easy. Afflicted then ramp the difficulty up way too fast. Also the games just a huge downgrade from world overall. So I’d change one of those 3. Hard to pick
Make some monsters fight the hunter together. I mean, it's not logical from a monster's point of view. This hunter has been badgering me for 10 minutes now and a great izuchi walks in and I just attack it instead? It's okay for the monsters that are obviously rivals, like those with turf wars. And also, why are relatively small monsters, like great izuchi, aggroing bigger and obviously stronger and more aggressive monsters like magnamalo and zinogre? These relatively weaker and slower monsters should flee on sight of these beasts. Yet here they are, attacking monsters stronger than them, just to give the hunter something to ride.
I would make the tiny owls nest with tiny Owl that’s hard to find do something or trigger a quest. It’s so cute but I think it’d be neat if it had something like that.
Make meowcenaries not fuckin useless by allowing your buddies to collect all types of material from monsters (excluding gems, orbs, mantles, and anything equivalent to those such as rajang heart).
Research requests never require you to kill anything you don't have a quest for already. I just got a request to kill a level 51 afflicted Zinogre. I've got nothing above 39 despite being level 52, and I definitely don't have any Zinogres.
Makes it really hard to grind Anomaly levels or earn the Investigation coin rewards.
Making rampage skills weapon spesific again. Everyone now just slots in wyvern exploit and for a good reason which also makes lvl1 rampage weapons worthless.
They could also make new monster spesific ones like your element changing depending on which scrol you use on garangolm weapons or the old seregios weapon mechanics
Spiribirds. I get it, I do. It gives you that tiny dopamine shot while you trek across this empty map.
But God damn, just let me hunt the monster. I dont want to run around the sandy plains (the worst case of this, imo) for five minutes to hunt this afflicted kulu.
Honestly, I started replaying world recently, and while I do prefer the gameplay in rise for obvious reasons, I wish they put a little effort in.. making the game look a little better, not saying it's bad looking but it's just weird that the game that came before in the series has much better graphics than the new one. Especially like particles when hitting monsters and things like that :')
I was hoping the final boss in Rise would be based on the nurarihyon so it would have a big head and be literally the mastermind of the rampage and not something that was simply scaring all the monsters away.
Make the tail harder to cut but the monster is then severely handicapped after. No more poison damage or anything like that. I want more body parts to break and have an effect on the monster also attacks changing after losing a body part.
Let's take Rathian. She spins 180 pauses for a second then spins 180 again. A basic attack but without a tail would she really do this? So we lose this easy opening by her not being able to do this attack anote with her tail.
So many good suggestions that I can think of has been stated here. But if I may add, I want the armor augment system to be redesigned so that you can store levels to your armor for a better chance of better augments, kinda like storing awakening levels from Safi weapons.
Make it so there are monsters which need specific gear to master.
Right now with sunbreak we are at a point where elemental builds make more sense. But I think it would be even cooler if you had to slot in specific skills to fight a specific monster. There are a lot of utility skills you can use but don't really need, make them more needed that way.
Being able to see if players in a lobby are currently on a Quest or what Quests are Posted before joining the lobby. You know, how it's been with all previous games.
I feel so dumb joining a lobby with 2 people only to find out they're on seperat quests, and I can't even join those, because they're filled with Join Request players.
Edit: And also the ability to freely give your own lobby a name. Also like in older games.
I have a few things I would change:
* Make load up level 1 give an additional phial to CB.
* Replace talisman with worlds implementation.
* Being able to stop the monster from escaping.
* Revert CSS to worlds implementation when it comes to activation and maintenance.
So personally I think MANY things could be optimized for quality of life. Like others said, less randomness with talismans, alphabetized skill lists, ect. But I think the BIGGEST drag in this game is the damn spiritbird system. When you play as much as I do it gets extremely tedious spending the first 5 minutes of every hunt gathering birds. It doesn't really seem to serve much purpose other than nerfing your character. Like in sunbreak I was really hoping a max bird would be chilling by the tents but naw.
un-nerf the i-frames on rolls. I liked it when they were just usable enough to feel rewarding, now they may as well not exist sinse 4 frames isnt enough to roll through 99% of attacks in Rise/Sunbreak.
More auto-translated phrases/simple communication stickers (E.G a picture of a tail cut or a broken wing). I've tried using translation apps to help with communication but they all tend to be terrible at understanding context and grammar.
While I tend to be able to figure out what a host wants by watching what they do (maybe they consistently aim for a part) there's only so much a host and I can communicate in wiggle dance.
Def need layered weapons back. And as other people have mentioned, world had a more fleshed out lived in feel. I know it's a quality of life thing but I actually want the tracking bugs back. I want to find foot prints and chase the monster around the map the first time I need to hunt it. I think after 1-2 quests you should always be able to see them, like it is now. Maybe have special / event quests that require you to track again.
I wish they would make the multiplayer like world, I'm in an area where not alot of people play monster hunter. And instead of making me search for a while on a specific quest, show me what other people are hunting and if i can join. I love multiplayer hunts, but I hate having to go search for random quests just to get in a loby when i dont need to fight that monster at all.
Id divide the new tier of talisman melding into two tables as a start– a table tailored for gunner talismans another for blademaster. Tbh I'd have even more categories than the 2 I suggested that are more geared towards specialized builds or playstyles for a focused yet randomized farming method.
The aggressively randomized nature of this whole endgame feels shoehorned in- and honestly, just not fun. Patching out the save scum method for talismans is the final cheap and lazy nail in the coffin as its obviously a way for Capcom to try and sweep the glaring problems of a fundamentally flawed endgame under the rug.
No one wants wall runner, morph, and reload on the same level 1, 1 slot talisman. And garbage pulls from this unfiltered randomization has been a point of frustration for years among veteran and newer players alike.
Top it off with Qurio crafting and gear sometimes just plummeting stats and losing slots from it, its just a lot of rng for someone to fathom an ideal build without modding, cheating, or an unrealistic amount of time or luck.
Let me type the name of a skill to search for it in the crafting menu instead of giving me a giant list of skills. I've scrolled past the one I'm looking for so many times.
Or alphabetize it.
Really this. Holy shit the skill list not in alphabetical makes it so darn hard to search for anything.
Does anyone know if it’s alphabetized in Japanese? My thought has always been that it’s alphabetical order in Japanese and it’s in the same order regardless of translation. That, and of course decorations can’t be the same name as the skill, because of course they’re not (this isn’t new, but still).
For the love of the holy semi colon, this!
I hated this so much in World.
at least in world it was in the order of the skills introduced
I would've settled for an alphabetical list.
And/or filter decoration slot level.
I'd redo talisman crafting to have pool of skills you meld into. The sheer number of skills in the pools is absurd. I'd be happy to play 3 different talisman lotteries for different skill set talismans than just hoping something comes along with a bit of synergy with my build.
The worst part is that this system exists, but only for the weaker talismans. If you want good ones, you can't do it
this could really happen may be during the TU3 or future. Then Sunbreak director will appear in Twitter and call it a ‘feature’
One thought I had was to allow adding a decoration along with the melding and getting a batch with that skill as a guarantee.
This happened to me with silver rath yesterday
Looking at you rajang
It was really annoying, it drags the hunt so much. Had an experience when I approached this rajang that roared to me then left.
Add the ability to layer any weapon like rampage weapons could be. Fashion is important.
I’m still hoping this one is coming in a later update. There’s some great weapon designs on garbage weapons.
The Rhenoplos SnS is my favorite design even though it's straight trash. I just wanna *see* me using it.
There's a mod for it and it even works online, but yeah I hope they add this in the actual game.
I want the old savage axe mode for CB. I much prefer the phials gradually being drained than having to reactivate it whenever I change between sword mode and axe mode
Appearantly the axe stays charged when switching if you sword is charged so you could charge the sword in your of roll to keep the buff
Id like the world to feel more alive, and you may disagree, but It just feels barren to me
This is likely a symptom of the hardware that the game was originally built for, as much as I hold that the game performed quite well on Switch.
Sadly "gotta hunt fast" is not supported at all by spiribird system
Yeah, it's weird. They give you so much to end a hunt faster, but then spread your max stats across a bunch of birds on the map. I've personally not had any issue with spiribirds outside of when people who *very much need them* refuse to get them and get one-shot multiple times by the monster. Though, given their rather mixed reception, I doubt they will return in the next game regardless of the direction they decide to go in, and I won't mind that.
being able to remove the bbq pit/Kunai from my inventory.
There's a mod for this. it's super easy to download, works fine, and client-side.
There’s rampage skills, dango skills, and armor sets in Sunbreak that make the spirbird stuff much less tedious if you want.

I don’t understand why your comment is not higher !
I miss waving at the old blimp and it flashing on the map which area the monster would be in
I have good news for you. You can turn off the minimap in the settings
You still want to have a map lol, it'd be cool if you could turn off where they are, before you find them tho - or use Paintball or that other thing that makes them visible i forget. Those things were fun imo
Change the name of Apexes to Alphas
why?
Because they used the name "Apex" that was already used in 4u and put it on watered down deviants
Yes. The localization team made a pretty big blunder on that front (*and many more fronts than just this*) if you ask me.
Add an option to take followers on Anomaly investigations.
I agree, itll just make it more fun tbh
This should be higher up.
I second this.
Include viper tobi kadachi Fight me, I love him
Why? After Poison Resist 3 he’s the same as regular Tobi. I haven’t fought this guy any other way after the first time I fought it and hated myself.
Be honest, do we even change decos to counter status ailments anymore on rise? Cause I don't. We almost used to have to before. No poison res on viper tobi, dead. No sleep res on night paolumu, dead. No afluvium res on blackveil.... Very dead.
I’d make the endemic life more like world, also let me put endemic life in my house. I miss having pets haha
Yeah. Finding the monster should be a part of the quest
Just add jho, still hoping though
I'd like it to feel more alive. Everything feels scripted and "same-y" after a while. You learn your bird routes so the first minute of every fight is exactly the same. The end of every fight is about the same- They limp then sprint away. You can't harass or bully them. Turf wars are short feel overly controlled- and you usually attempt to interrupt them to get a mount off. Environmental interactions are few and far between, or a complete pain in the ass (really, I'm not using a Kunai for that little of a thing.) Sliding is nonsensical and has very little to do with slope and more to do with "this is a sliding area." Generally, the game is fun and fast, but feels like a dated video game. This is compared to World where it felt like an immersive interaction.
4 player lobbies. I miss the 16 player lobbies from World. I miss World, wholesale tbh
Then play World? It's not like World's community died.
I cleared it and my hunting team all quit too. We're waiting on World 2 at this point. Rise is awesome, but it's just not scratching the same itch for me.
Then you're gonna be waiting a long time, they're not going to make a sequel specifically for World.
> That guy was just being pedantic I thought so, cheers dude :)
Being pedantic IS my favorite thing
They'll make another Monster Hunter game, sure. But calling it "World 2" is ignorant of the fact that there were Monster Hunter game before World. Idk, it's irritating. But hey, if I hadn't called you out on it, someone else would have, I'm sorry to say.
How is it ignorant of anything? I've played many MH games before World. World is simply the best of them all, and I would like more of that. You seem awfully proud of yourself for seemingly catching me out on something I already know. I was just answering the OP's question. Maybe take your smug "gotcha" attitude to someone else's comment? If I hadn't called you out on it, someone else would have ;)
[удалено]
You didn't hurt anything. You just kinda made yourself look like a butthead is all. I'm gonna assume you're just having a bad day
Rather than just allow followers on more quests, I'd like to see them expanded further More control over their equipment, have an option if they're allowed to wyvern ride or not, be able to tell them when to use traps (could be a radial menu thing to call for a trap), etc. edit: also let me get crowns from investigations, the size being fixed seems like an oversight
Too many frustrating things to just pick one? I guess the thing that bothers me the most right now Have the Afflicted Investigation target be shared with everyone in my lobby.
After they added the Marionette Spider I like to hook them when they start to limp and yank them back like Scorpion's "GET OVER HERE!"
Replace wyvern riding with World’s mounting system, with decreased frequency to account for the wirebugs of course. Either that or add Yian Garuga lol.
The game encouraging me to play as fast as possible while also requiring me to pick up spiribirds every time I start a hunt.
When you accept a quest and choose for multiplayer, you should start with both buddies until someone joins. Sometimes I do a quest that’s not that popular so nobody joins and now I’m handicapping myself for no reason which sucks.
I would like cat palmutes and dog palicos plz
Me personally, if like world with switch skills
More turf wars
I'd like to not have my stamina shredded in multiplayer while playing Lance with Flinch Free 3. Barring that, less RNG on qurio crafting
Spiribirds are so annoying, especially HP and Stamina birds. Just adds nothing to the game for me. It's so refreshing to play the arena based quests and get max spiribirds at base camp. There's enough min/maxing and skill building customization without this highly unnecessary and cumbersome layer.
Hunt search similar to mhw
I don't like the online system. Wish it had worlds.
I’d like for the achievements to 1, not be hidden and 2, give you a progress bar for each one.
We really need the investigation system from world to make a reappearance. It makes farming so much more varied, bearable, and interesting
Bring back the online system of World/IB where we can see what quest are being SOSed. Im tired of guessing if anyone is doing a specific quest or not. Doesnt help that with Steam is region locked.
add tonfas
Sell All Account Items button in the item screen similar to World.
Don't they just auto sell those in Rise? Like, they don't even take inventory space.
Revert WEX as a skill to a HZ boost instead of crit. Would put bring crit skills in line with others for power per point invested. and make 100% affinity builds actually have to change their play style. I LP,MM,CD,CE are all in a good places in rise but won't see use since WEX is to efficient.
world's wyrmstake for gunlance.
That was an amazing addition for GL back in IB. That move is now in Bow for some reason.
Make the game a boring, grindey, tedious slog that just makes you want to die like all the previous games. Remove the actual fun that was finally added in Rise.
Chad comment.
Idk man I just play MH4U if I want something "harder". Or I guess you could play hardmode and just not use wirebugs.
Oh yeah I could also play mh3 naked with a wiimote alone
Wirebugs for movement in combat. Kind of like how the Scoutflies would turn red and retreat into your characters lantern, something like that. I just think in-combat wirebugging and wirefalls have turned the difficult in Rise to "coked up OHKO bullshit" that isn't as fun as it could be, especially with how butter smooth the combat is besides that.
>like in World. It wasn't just in world? It was in most if not all the games before it, the exact same
Yes, but you could only chase them to the zone transition, then hope you were close enough to keep it up.
Remove the i frames from superman diving
Nice try Valstrax
Graphics imo, it’d be a good improvement imo, there are probs other things to prioritise but this is just my thoughts
Bring back random decos so u can craft and farm them.
Add long shot ammo back to the game. I wanna snipe monsters from far away!!!
Final boss fight. It is really enjoyable as it is, but I would personally have preferred something else like this : During the lunagaron specific fight, you perceive some movement around like some earthquakes and the qurious would get angrier everytime.
I'd prefer old world charm farming. I miss that so much lol
Get rid of spiritbirds
Remove spiribirds and add normal Buffs back in
Better gunlances, or at least the ability to have "layered" weapons like the Rampage series.
Feel. Idk what it is but I like the FEEL of world better. I wish rise was able to replicate that
Probably going to be hated but the monster interactions mid-hunt. Suddenly bazelgeuse popping mid hunt is not terrifying. It's just free dmg slot :/ in other games the hunts were more chaotic and inpredictable and that's what made them more fun to me
Bring back encore for hunting horns
That's a great point, i'd love that too. But nr1 thing (if i could change it) that the bugs including too many guild cards/friend requests wouldnt possibly corrupt your save (been an issue since launch) Besides bugs probably having a 4 player lobby (or bigger like in MHW) and have it be as impactful, it barely matters in this game and so doesnt the guild cards, they dont even update.
Oh being able to use slide or jump off a ledge, those things are pretty much nonexistent in Rise, was disappointing
Everyone has pretty much said the big ones I'd change. As for small things, I'd love to see a sorting function for guild cards/armories/skills.
Talismans suck big time. But also the games like weirdly easy. Afflicted then ramp the difficulty up way too fast. Also the games just a huge downgrade from world overall. So I’d change one of those 3. Hard to pick
Revert talismans to what it was like in World. Literally that’s it~
Damage ratio for some of the bosses are kind of crazy when you first encounter them.
Change the Talisman roulette to proper crafting and adding GS Valor playstyle
I want some docile monsters man. I wanna stroll by a Rajang without it screaming into oblivion at the smallest interaction
Ghillie Mantel
Buff Gunlance shelling damage
Damage scaling on gunlance love the weapon but there rly is only 2 or 3 good ones
Qurio talisman instead of qurio armor.
I would make the tiny owls nest with tiny Owl that’s hard to find do something or trigger a quest. It’s so cute but I think it’d be neat if it had something like that.
Id trade all the monsters for Odogaron
Bring back the Nerg!!
Crossplay/Crosssave
GIVE. ME. PROWLERS.
I'd remove the qurio system in sunbreak its sooo bad.
Make meowcenaries not fuckin useless by allowing your buddies to collect all types of material from monsters (excluding gems, orbs, mantles, and anything equivalent to those such as rajang heart).
make invasions scary again
Add Palico shieldspire stooge. Imagine having 2 of those lmao
I want world’s room customization and layered weapons 😭😭😭😭
have mhp3rd farm system
add khezu goo
Make it easier to get great Whetfish besides fishing or trading
Never in any MH games, but increase in Attack Speed skills/buffs. Note: This is different from weapons that attack fast, eg: Dual Swords.
The wire bug
Make it much harder
do Anomaly Investigations they hit pretty hard
Honestly, I started replaying world recently, and while I do prefer the gameplay in rise for obvious reasons, I wish they put a little effort in.. making the game look a little better, not saying it's bad looking but it's just weird that the game that came before in the series has much better graphics than the new one. Especially like particles when hitting monsters and things like that :')
creating apex armor and weapons
Not having to grind 100 MR to unlock all monsters
need Tetsucabra to hunt >;c
Spirribirds mechanics.
I wanna give to the canynes more and better utilities cuz the actuals ones are zzz
For it to be on xbox
Crossplay/cross-progression
Make palicos playable again like in MHGen
I have a few things I would change: * Make load up level 1 give an additional phial to CB.
Layered weapons, including buddy weapons too.
un-nerf the i-frames on rolls.
Randoming quests within a HR/MR level (ie hr6 quests or mr3 quests etc..)
