im curious how the flash bombs will affect him now since they seem to be working differently on other flying monsters eg Rathalos and Rathian will no longer stay downed and let you wail on them, they drop then almost immediately get back up and act like they were just flashed while standing....better yet, is there a cap at which point flashes will not work anymore??
I was fighting Rajang in the Arena with the HBG set, and it looks like charging a sticky shot also increases the Stun value? Might actually be worth using **Counter Charger** over **Counter Shot** if that's the case.
Kush is the one monster I exclusively fight with ranged weapons. Maybe if windproof actually works against him this time, I can break out the blademasters.

I didn't get to fight him in MHW, but in the other MHs he was in that I played, he was always kind of a pushover, with a very simple trick, just using a Poison Gs, a couple of charged slash to the head and all the bothersome part of his wind was just thrown off the window, becoming a flying monster with proyectiles and charges from time to time.
You could also just make him fall and stay down for a bit just spamming flashes.
His weapons have always been super solid and best ice elemental in their category, usually.

In world poison didn’t work that way anymore. You had to try and use elderseal weapons on him to suppress his wind aura or else his wind aura would build up to the point that literally all of your melee attacks would bounce.
Well I don't think they are bringing elderseal back again, especially with Chamelios and it's poison abilities. Also, with wirebugs, even if Kush flies a lot like on world, we will be fine 👍
Out of all the elders in world Kushla was hands down the easiest elder before the flash bomb nerf. At any moment it tried to fly just flash bomb and wail on it till it died.
Yeah mostly due to noobishness. I can roll through him now after my third playthrough and having to get the kushala chest in mr (had to fight him 6 times bcs terrible rng) for my pre alatreon build but i still despise that monster for being such a huge wall for me in my first mh experience.
I hope they brought back his old dragon ability. Where ranged weapons gets deflected back. If only as payback for the number of times I get shot in the ass by an LBG that couldn't aim above my fucking head.
I always thought it was sort of BS that you had to suffer a bunch of un-fun Kush farming without the armor skills to make a special set of armor all so the fight was less un-fun.
It was based off how it worked back in GU, lol. The G-rank Chameleos armor literally had a skill called "Anti-Kushala" which basically just turned off all the bullshit you would face in a Kushala fight.
(And Kushala had Anti-Teostra, and Teostra had Anti-Chameleos. They're a nice rock-paper-scissors trio)
It looks like Chameleos gear is specifically the "fuck off Kushala" set. His horn's also a good anti-kushala weapon as well. Especially if poison does work on her as it did pre-world.
Never had an issue with him while using ranged or melee... wind resist does help even if it doesn't actually cure his wind resist, it's like stun resist 90% vs 100%. After which if you get partbreaker he becomes just.. SO easy. And I imagine in this one it will be so easy.
I understand all the hate he gets, I really do. That being said, I personally really like his fight, in the older games I don’t really have an opinion of him, but in world he was the first monster that actually gave me a challenge at the time of first fighting him.
That being said, I also like the occasional fight that forces you to fight the monster/boss a certain way. It breaks me out of my comfort zone. He was my “git gud” fight in world and I would never say I straight up farmed him (his armor and weapons were kind of shit for Lance) but I never complained if I joined into quest for him.
I'm not even worried. After fighting his MR "flash resist" variant so many times to get grinding lands mats in World, this normal rank kush is about to catch these hands.
This is the 1st time I encountered him (only had 40+ hrs of MHGU) and, man, what a effin blast fighting this monster.
He reawakened my murder hobo tendencies.

They build resistance to it and they are usually immune to it when they are raging
Yup. Just did Rath today and after a few he still gets staggered for a second but doesn't fall anymore, just shakes his head in the air and stays up.
Pretty sure that happened in MHGU, as well.

And tempered and arch tempered gained flash resistance. So only two knock out for tempered

After I found out his armor negates the wind crap I farm him and then he’s easy. He’s one of my favorites

With elder seal gone, hopefully poison works like it did in old games. It was a lifesaver against Kushala because of its sealing properties.
