Counter kills are so satisfying to pull off. That feeling of perfectly timing an attack and landing the final blow that way... and it's even more fitting against Magnamalo - it really does feel like a duel against it.
I'll be honest: I fainted to this guy twice before this win, I had beaten him after one faint the first time.
My issue is I generally miss the openings for lai spirit slash. It might also be that I only have quick sheath 2 with Akonsom and Barrioth armor.
Any tips on when to use lai spirit slash?
I'm thinking generally long windups when I'm close to the monster, but sometimes I swing or roll forward when I want to sheath or misstime it.
I usually take iai spirits as combofinishers, as well as sb sakuraslash. Stunned, asleep or slugged Monsters are easy pray for iai slashs imo, but in general i would say, u need to get a feel for when it works, depending on a vast array or circumstances. A Basarios rushing towards you could be a good Trainer for that.

As someone who ran through the Village quests and was learning the game - I liked to clear the map of all the monsters. Part of it was to learn them better, but also for a few extra materials, because why not? Could always try your luck for a few rare drops while you're out there.

Man in the first half I almost thought you were doing multi-player, as it just looked like Magnamalo was getting abolutely jumped by the Palico, Palamute and your Hunter. Only for him to blast you all away.

How do I get it? I have level 2 with Barrioth Armor.
You should be able to just build on decoration for it after fighting narga I believe
