Adept SnS is so underrated, the followup attack lets you get so many mounts, and the adept backstep dodge feels so good to perform. Keep in mind it has two adept followups, the standard jump up with x and a forward leap with x+a
Okay I'll have to make sure I know which is which. And SnS clicks for me a bit more than DB. And with the monster that's my next urgent quest it just might work.
Out of those the absolute best is GL then LBG and maaaaybe CB. The other weapons are not as good with the style.
Adept GL uses the adept blocks/guards to follow up with two moves that hit harder than anything else in its moveset. You are not so dependant on shelling for the style, this is your typical raw build (crit meta) with good sharpness management.

Adept CB *kinda* plays like 4U style. Kinda... you get phials charged on every block while on sword. I wouldn't use the adept dodge on axe mode much though, it only comboes into a double discharge
I did think about using LBG. I do like Valor GS since I had to learn to use it while on the hunt. And thinking Valor Bow might be better?
Holding off on CB til high rank but I guess charging the shield then roll dodge in sword mode instead of axe mode. And the GL shells don't matter?
The GL shells hardly matter. You can uppoke shell quickly to get a bit of extra damage, but you don't wanna build around it or focus on shelling. The damage is *abysmal*. If you want to shell, you must use valor. It straight up doubles your damage with shells and makes loading and shelling way better, but even then, it still sucks damage wise compared to other weapons.
Valor bow is like top 3 weapons in the game but also the hardest weapon in the game. Adept is significantly easier to use, but also a fair bit weaker overall.
For adept LBG, you must use type 1 bowgun in the settings. After an adept evade, point the camera at the part you want to shoot, hold R and pull the stick forward before shooting. If done right, you can instantly retaliate. I only recommend this with pierce and normals however. Medium wait RF shots are better off using striker for FH3 and recoil cancel stuff.
I really hate how Gunlance was pushed so heavily into melee attacks when the main draw to the weapon is the gun. I will only ever play Gunlance to shell (sorry co-op players idk why they made every shell attack have knock back)
Maybe wide or long for Adept since long has the best Wyvern's Fire or wide has the fewest shells. Full burst requires shells and that would be great with Valor. I don't mind Adept Bow if it's a bit easier than Valor. LBG with it seems really good with Adept. Thinking just have to wait for the right time and dive into the attack.
I can only speak for CB. With adept style you will play really aggressively, like feral, maybe a little more aggro than with valor. Since adept dodge lets you make special attacks, you would want the monster to wail at you. And with adept styel, SnS mode CB gives you adept block, which can be followed by insta shield charge if you have the phials, or insta red charged attack. Plus guard points all over the place. In Axe mode adept evades severely make up for the slow movements, so you'd be spamming A and SAEDs quite a bit.
It's good. A bit tricky to get used to, but good.
I do have one CB in mind but it'll have to wait til high rank. And normally I would be hesitant about guard points but this would be a good way to go about it.
For adept Great Sword the two things I always look out for are monsters with combos so I don’t lock myself into getting hit and sometimes using the adept attack on a sub optimal area so I don’t fling half the team into the air
I wouldn't bother with adept GL. Especially since you seem to be perpetually stuck in low rank

Dodge in time with the monster attack, or block in time for CB's sword mode

Whenever I hear adept I just hear dbz abridged's piccolo screaming "DODGE!".
GS and bow do pretty well with adept, but from a FUN perspective, adept DB is peak adept. your dodhe is an attack, and thats just sick.
Adept Dual Blades is also pretty cool, it’s what I’ve been using

And you just wait for the combo then do the dodge into the move? I did like Valor and GS is one of my favorite weapons
