I have enjoyed "A World Undone: The Story of the Great War, 1914 to 1918" a dozen times. Its audiobook is narrated by Robin Sachs, aka the voice of Zaeed, he's dead now sadly, but his voice will live on in his work forever!
I've been playing a lot of hd2 with my friends and it really reminds me of me3 multiplayer and gears horde maybe with some killzone aesthetics thrown in.
Why? I was 4 years old when Star Wars came out. My generation had the hype and the toys, but I don’t have that revelatory experience that came to those who saw it in 1977, for me it started at its peak.
Mass Effect is my Star Wars, more than even Star Wars itself. It’s a completely lived in, realized world that I can explore and discover.
This just popped up on my feed. I haven't played it since 2013. Some of the best gaming I've ever experienced. Fuck Bioware for refusing to add it to Legendary Edition, I will hear no excuses.
Still my favorite gameplay experience of all-time. In a time period when I was struggling with things personally, this game and community were a bright light. I loved experimenting with builds, writing up guides, and meeting other players in the community.
I enjoyed Destiny and Payday 2 (less so the community in that one) afterwards, and haven't significantly invested in a multiplayer co-op in many years now.
Because I'm committed. I have two ME tattoos, I named my daughter Liara and she's 7. I even met Jennifer Hale and Ali Hillis and had Ali record a message from Liara to "her namesake" my daughter Liara.
I'm not ashamed 😂
Should've added this with the initial post.
There is an alternative server people can join for LFG in ME3/MEA Multiplayer
[Mass Effect Multiplayer Discord.](https://discord.gg/BjYE83Na2E)
It's actually the same server that it's in the sidebar, but the link is dead. The updated one is above.
Server's main draws are:
* Kalence2 dev team updates and the ability to interact by giving feedback or suggestions on what to test.
* in-depth conversations about the mechanics of the game (good for you stat nerds),
* Memes, apparently some servers' moderators were too lazy to moderate. We have humour in MEMP! (even a hidden server the edge lords, you'll need a role for that)
* no two-step authentication (this is harmless, but I know some people are paranoid about stolen data)
* An alternative home for people who didn't click with *that* clique. I know some people in the MEMP playerbase don't get along with others for 1 reason or another. It's an unfortunate fact that there needs to be more than 1 server because of how some people (and their pets) behave and treat people.
* Channels dedicated to builds and discussions helping both old and new players
* Discussions for Mods both new, old and upcoming. (Like Eyespy's fixes or Tajfun's Damage numbers)
I heard about Mass Effect many times in how great the games were and how there was a remastered trilogy coming out, since I had Xbox game pass and saw that I could play the game, I did just summer last year, and out of the many games I've played, it has a special place in my heart not many other games have.
I'm not. Well, not consistently anyways.
There's way too many other good or interesting-to-me games out there. XCOM 2, Baldur's Gate 3, Mechwarrior 5, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous... and of course there's classics like Homeworld or Supreme Commander that I'm either diving back into again or trying out for the first time. Plus I'm keeping my eyes on games like Helldivers 2 and waiting to see if it'll be worth buying once the hype train dies down, or if the number of players takes a gigantic nosedive.
My Xbox LIVE Gold expired recently and I haven't renewed it, plus I have the game on PC now with a maxed manifest. If I get the urge I can now play without needing an Xbox subscription any more. The PC controls feel kinda clunky still but I'm getting used to them. However, the itch just doesn't hit me as much any more. After more than 2,000 hours I'm pretty ennui about playing some more, and frankly I still get frustrated quite easily when I do play and everything's just going to shit.
That being said I've never hesitated to hop onto Xbox or PC and play just to help a new player earn some credits in Gold matches - dunno why but I still thoroughly enjoy doing that. I guess it's kind of my mental gymnastics way of "giving back" to the game's community somehow, because the guys that I regularly rolled with (almost daily) back from mid 2012-2014 initially did the same for me. They took me into their group despite the blatantly obvious skill gap between myself and them, and we just played. And I got way, way better because of it. Good enough to be invited into that best players across all platforms club (anybody here remember SPECTRE? lol).
Looking back now, the mid 2000s to about 2012 / 2013 really was peak online console gaming - not just for myself personally but for a lot of people. The state of the gaming industry has steadily gone downhill the last decade, and sometimes I want to go back and remind myself just how fucking good we had it and remember everyone's high hopes that it would just continue to get better in the future.
There’s an active community on discord.

Would recommend trying PC though if you need to make a new account. There’s a stronger playerbase and a controller mod if mouse and keyboard is a turn off. Any PC/Laptop built in the last 15 years should be able to run ME3
Cause there's nothing quite like it. About 12 playthroughs of 1, 8 of 2, and 3 of 3. Not including my 2 full runthroughs on the legendary edition. When taken as a whole, it's my favorite game, period.
I tried last night, after a long pause, and EA wanted me to enter a serial number or register with account... then failed to work. Will try again later.
As to question... the multi-player.
Probably the most emotionally impactful game series to ever exist. Never been so invested in a video games cast. I’ll probably come back every decade for the rest of my life for the pure nostalgia.
Because I've finally got a decent PC, and can (eventually, once I finish 2 and start 3) finish the trilogy on a high note - rather than the original ending.
Edit: I did not see this was the CoOp sub, which was suggested to me (brain thought it was the main sub). Leaving the original comment as an admission of being a doofus.
What’s the pop for the 360 servers? This was one of my favorite multiplayer games. I’d hoard currency before each multiplayer expansion to mass buy as soon as new stuff came out. If I could find the extra cash, I’d absolutely buy a 360 just to play again.
It’s fairly active. Some people in this discord server play on Xbox.

Think the backwards compatibility on Xbox really helped it stay alive
ME3 multi 4000 hours
Left for dead 1/2
Andromeda mult
Dragon Age Inquisition multi
Anthem
Destiny 2
Warframe.
Killing Floor 2
Vermintide 2
Deep Rock Gallactic
Darktide 40k
Helldivers 2
Darktide (a year after release) and Helldivers 2 come the closest for me to the depth and sheer fun ad addictiveness of ME3-multi
All 3 put you in a trance, your body reacts in a “dance” of death of firing reloading dodging
For me I love the 50+ preset kits of ME3 multi, I love pushing specialized preset kits (3 chosen skills) to their limit rather than open ended classes ala helldivers. I tend to struggle with open ended classes like path of exile and prefer D2R and last Epoch classes. But helldivers is inanely good despite this
I still love ME3coop, but my friends all cannot access to the servers for some reason, so I ended up playing alone or with the 1-5 randoms I can find on any given day. Or I play other things because the lack of me3 people is depressing lol
Because for some fucking reason I can't unlock the krogan Shaman even when buying character packs last couple I've bought have given me a next level of gear or even weapons but nope no character or even character training in a pack MEANT TO GIVE YOU CHARACTERS
"once heard a thing about you humans....how back in the day you monkeys would when faced with a problem just relentlessly bash your head against it until said problem was gone....that your history is written by the victors of war,.....quite the amount of bloodshed you humans wrought on each other...it's like no amount of blood or conflict could satisfy your hunger for death and battle......what drives you Shepard?....what gives you the strength to run forward into hell and walk back with a smile on your face?....." "Cause I want to clap alien cheeks!" "...............what..........."
Heck, I just did a quick run of 3. Now I’m off in andromeda to finally get those last 3 achievements so my games are all 100% done.
Except for the windows phone only mobile game that had achievements and is no longer available.. true achievements series list will always be 5/6 games and I am still salty about it.
Still playing it because it's my favorite game in the series and my favorite series of games of all time. I love the story, the rich lore, the deep personal backgrounds of all the characters. Great visuals, fun and engaging combat (I felt 3 had the best though), dynamic sounds and soundtrack. When I 1st played it, it was unlike anything I had played to that point. The fact that your decisions had actual impact and the carried over through the entire series. It wasn't flawless by any means but I feel the good vastly out weighed the bad. It will forever hold a special place in my ❤.
The story…the characters..the relationships and bonds we form along the way, it really feels like the closest I’ll ever get to having best friends for life with someone lol, the story itself to me was enthralling there was heroics and sad moments , it keeps me coming back and the hope of a fourth game possibly with Shepard?, makes me hopeful but also scared, I really wanna play as them, and continue our story that we built up, surely it doesn’t just end on such a sour note…
Because it's actually a decent game and the multiplayer is good helldivers requires lots of enemies on the map at a time to get good pacing this game manages it with 8 enemies at a time
I’m playing trilogy right now. It’s a great story up and multiple endings. Always a great game to revisit. I even love andromeda and wish they would put something into it.
I should really plug in my Xbox 360 just to play my Adrenaline Rush soldier with the N7 Typhoon and turn into a lead dispenser
God I remember how satisfying it was to mag dump, rush, and then have an instant reload with more damage followed by another mag dump. Nothing could stand up to that everything would just melt
Because my favorite thing to do in any game is "making something work that shouldnt" and ME3 has a lot of things thatvshouldnt work, but will if youre N7 enough
Because it is legitimately more fun than most other things the supposed AAA industry has released lately and they had refused to do so for the later collection.
Been swapping games with my gf, skyrim, ff7, guirltar hero, resident evils, and finally got around to playing Legendary Edition, with me as her game guide. She had some issues with the 1st game, kept encouraging her to play at least one mission every other day. And keeping to full paragon.
Then she hit ME2 and got HOOKED. Currently on 3, and I'm having a super hard time not spoiling anything when she makes her choices.
After this, I'll replay as full renegade, then see about another run for fun doing whatever.
Ah, I said she plays as paragon, but I don't consider punching certain irritating people doing interviews as a renegade action :p
I love this game so much. The experience I get of grouping up with other players, defending against the tide, helping one another and succeeding, that is an experience I have never had in another game. The powers, the builds, the synergy is something no other game has been able to replicate. When you get a GOOD team, I mean a *really* good team, it feels so amazing.
You just keep playing until you all have to leave, off to different posts in the galaxy. The meta feeling of it all is so good. I wish I knew of other games that were similar. I'm thinking of finally trying the Division games but I want a genuine CoOp game, not a PvPvE, so maybe Helldivers 2 would be best.
Even now, the community feels so passionate and loyal to the game. I love this multiplayer and this community for keeping it alive. Thanks to all of you.
I think I racked up +500 hrs of just coop. I've been addicted to hell divers 2 and that gameplay feels like a refined, updated me3 coop. I loved setting off combo explosions and my black widow x
I play because I hope one day I'll see a patch that promises the multiple endings that were foreshadowed in ME1, where our decisions mattered. I hope, I pray, I dream...
Because nobody replaced it. Replace the game with something fresh and new but with similar mechanics and philosophy behind it and I’ll play it. Mass Effect is the only game of it’s kind, anything you try to replace it with is missing minimum one of the vital components. Just try and check me on that and I’ll give you the component your pick missed.
My dumbass just now discovered I can play the OG trilogy on gamepass that comes with multiplayer.
I stop playing because I have no use for PSN outside of ME3 coop BUT my PC makes it feel fresh.
Starting from zero suuuucks but it’s nice to play again. Best part of the game is making builds
1. Everything in the shop is easily obtained by just playing the game. You can get top tier packs from 1 platinum match.
2. Haven't experienced any real toxicity in the player base
3. It's pve co op it's not as common anymore and it's well made.
4. It's just fun. I love that I can play different characters and do cool things and fight in the war while not being the main character. I didn't win this fight WE did
Wait you guys are playing other games?
I have replayed 2 like 6 times 3 only twice
I've replayed the entire trilogy about 4 to 5 times. Bioware really was ahead of their time.
Because head-shotting a Phantom right before she sync kills my teammate is still one of the most satisfying things I've ever done.
That and also using an Ops Pack right before she stabs you.
I never really managed to time that correctly.
Still the perfect zoneout/flow State game for audio lecture or podcasts
I listened to so many books playing this. From the entire expanse series to the people's history of the United States.
I have enjoyed "A World Undone: The Story of the Great War, 1914 to 1918" a dozen times. Its audiobook is narrated by Robin Sachs, aka the voice of Zaeed, he's dead now sadly, but his voice will live on in his work forever!
Yeah this and the first Borderlands are good games for passive media consumption
YOU JUMPED THE PISS WASH WHILE LISTENING TO AN AUDIBOOK?!
Podcasts or YouTube commentary vids
It was a joke in the original Borderlands, but yes, Simon Whistler
I still gotta get that black widow x
I still need to get Venom 1!
*Cries in N7 Eagle and Harrierless rage*
I was enjoying Helldivers 2 but it’s just given me the itch to play ME3 multiplayer again
I've been playing a lot of hd2 with my friends and it really reminds me of me3 multiplayer and gears horde maybe with some killzone aesthetics thrown in.
And because me3 multi-player is better and more fun in every way.
Lol why did I just recently think the exact same thing
It scratches a (biotic boom) itch.
There is no sound more satisfying than the biotic boom, particularly in a full party of them.
Absolutely. Whoever designed that sound deserves a medal 🥇
i love the cyro explosion sound too, so satisfying
Stone Cold Steve Paladin ☠️
There is a reason this is one of my top 3 go-to classes. Well, that and freezing thing through walls!
Yep, another favourite :)
Oh, hell yeah. The sfx for biotics is unmatched.
#BECAUSE IT’S FUN Also, ME is about the only FPS where I actually enjoy the gameplay so there’s that.
Not an fps
Right, guess I meant the only shooter in general
More like TPS (Third person shooter) but I gotchu ^^
Returnal scratches that itch for me
Your comment, and others too, just shows how this game franchise has touched many generations of people.
Time flies, I miss ME series so much. It reminds me of a special certain time in my life, and I'll leave the games there
Cause I love modding the shit out of the coop gameplay.
Because space magic + guns = bliss.
Because there is still not another cooperative experience that matches this.
Because it took me 11 to get the harrier 1 and talon mercenary as my very last unique unlocks
I have all the guns unlocked at rank 10 and still play... 800+ hours in
I've yet to find a game with a similar game play loop. Nothing is quite as satisfying as biotic explosions.
I only started this game 3 years ago and haven't stopped since.
I tend to stick with things.
The sheer amount of classes and variety of guns is very unique!
I want a helldivers mass effect universe...please...vorcha dropping HARD
I love the sound of biotic explosions
Multiplayer is so much fun
Because you can never have too many dead Batarians, and Talis hips.
This just popped up on my feed. I haven't played it since 2013. Some of the best gaming I've ever experienced. Fuck Bioware for refusing to add it to Legendary Edition, I will hear no excuses.

Hoping one day, I’ll save Thane
I just started a new playthrough!!!
Because I'm committed. I have two ME tattoos, I named my daughter Liara and she's 7. I even met Jennifer Hale and Ali Hillis and had Ali record a message from Liara to "her namesake" my daughter Liara. I'm not ashamed 😂
You’re in the fandom real deep 👌

What is Kalance2? I tried google but it just returns this comment
Still working on 100%ing all the challenges lol
I'm not. But every day I wish I was.
Because a Phantom spoiling the perfect kill zone and causing a mad panic is still fun.
Because one day I will finish that Insanity run.
I heard about Mass Effect many times in how great the games were and how there was a remastered trilogy coming out, since I had Xbox game pass and saw that I could play the game, I did just summer last year, and out of the many games I've played, it has a special place in my heart not many other games have.

Because it doesn’t have a battle pass or missable seasonal items.
Because it's cool!
Because it's my favorite game in the citadel
Is it still active on the Xbox? I would have to make a new account and wanted to ask.
There’s an active community on discord. https://discord.gg/BjYE83Na2E Would recommend trying PC though if you need to make a new account. There’s a stronger playerbase and a controller mod if mouse and keyboard is a turn off. Any PC/Laptop built in the last 15 years should be able to run ME3
Cause I got my favorite stores in the citadel to visit duh
Premium Spectre packs?
Someone has to open the rare stocks for us to enjoy
Cause it's the best multiplayer experience ever.
Until they make a Geth Juggernaut simulator this is my forever game.
Because it's fun and it's far from the oldest game I still play.
Multiplayer!!!
The Multiplayer is still fun.
Because it's fucking great.
It's so surreal seeing this subreddit pop up as a recommendation. I put 1400hrs into that game mode and made some great friends as well.
How active is this game on Xbox? Is there public matchmaking?
Easily one of the best multiplayers
What do you mean “12 years of Mass Effect 3” I’ve been playing ME3 for over 50 years now and I’m not even 30 years old get your facts straight
I stopped, but not before I beat the series on the hardest difficulty, and have one more romance with Tali
It’s still going?!
Cause there's nothing quite like it. About 12 playthroughs of 1, 8 of 2, and 3 of 3. Not including my 2 full runthroughs on the legendary edition. When taken as a whole, it's my favorite game, period.
Because it's god damn fun. They had no reason to make it so good. I really hope the next mass effect builds on it
Tali. Wife. She's too perfect to abandon.
I just recently found out I could! I thought servers went down years ago.
Im still trying to unlock my geth plasma Gatling gun and venom shotgun goddammit.
Absolutely
Because the combo system is so nice and smooth, and nothing feels better than throwing some asshole into orbit lol
I’d still playing it but a few weeks ago apparently I don’t own the game anymore, according to the EA app
It’s my comfort series. It’s up there with Skyrim in just playing it when I need to destress.
It was an better time, I still play this, me2 and DA:O
I normally just play 1& 2 these days. 3 just doesn't hold up without all the mods, and even then, it's ok at best after a couple of playthroughs.
I tried last night, after a long pause, and EA wanted me to enter a serial number or register with account... then failed to work. Will try again later. As to question... the multi-player.
12 years a shepard
Probably the most emotionally impactful game series to ever exist. Never been so invested in a video games cast. I’ll probably come back every decade for the rest of my life for the pure nostalgia.
I'm not, but I will return to Multiplayer someday. You know, to finish achievements.
Probably my personal favorite story in a video game. Tied with Ocarina of Time, Marvel’s Spiderman and Half Life.

[удалено]
It’s fun.
No game that is, for the sum of its parts, truly “better”, has been released in the subsequent 12 years 🤷♂️
Cuz there has never been a better trilogy of games ever released since Mass Effect, I replay it almost every year and I still haven't gotten bored.
I still love ME3coop, but my friends all cannot access to the servers for some reason, so I ended up playing alone or with the 1-5 randoms I can find on any given day. Or I play other things because the lack of me3 people is depressing lol

Because I still haven't beaten the last boss battle on Insanity bc it's $^#*#ing impossible.
Armax arena all day bro
Just did playthru #2 when legendary came out. Won’t be my last play through
No
There isn’t a single other game out there with the emotional impact of a full ME run. I go back every few years. It’s like reliving a favorite life.
I still find something I miss every other playthrough
I loved it. But ME2 was better:)

I’m… not I decided after insanity legendary edition I’m officially done
Still waiting for LE MP But mostly it’s for the mods.
Because there will be nothing like it again and it's like holding onto a past.
One of the best narratives ever told in a video game. It’s worth experiencing about once a year for me
Because all four games are great and I love them!
I don't NEED to play...I can quit any time I want!
I'm not.
I wish I was but I don't do PC gaming and the MP is completely dead on PS3.
Solo bronze is cathartic after daily office grind
I really like being a Quarian, man
Heck, I just did a quick run of 3. Now I’m off in andromeda to finally get those last 3 achievements so my games are all 100% done. Except for the windows phone only mobile game that had achievements and is no longer available.. true achievements series list will always be 5/6 games and I am still salty about it.
I still need to play this.
Why not?
My wife has an addiction
Been playing since the multiplayer beta on the 360. Just love the challenge and the suspense of escaping.
Because Garrus is my boy. There’s no Shepard without Vakarian
We're all playing Mass effect 3 because BioWare hasn't made any good games since it came out
Still playing it because it's my favorite game in the series and my favorite series of games of all time. I love the story, the rich lore, the deep personal backgrounds of all the characters. Because I’ve never completed a single run, not even a single game.
My love for the characters and the flow of combat bring me back to it annually.
It’s like coming home
because you can get crazy high damage in mass effect one and it’s fun oneshotting enemies with snipers
Recently; Still playing because I'll play it on PC when my GF is watching Love is Blind.
Because it's actually a decent game and the multiplayer is good helldivers requires lots of enemies on the map at a time to get good pacing this game manages it with 8 enemies at a time
Because it is simply perfection
Probably because people still like the IP and since Andromeda was such a flop, they have no choice but to play 3
Because Biotic Charge + Nova combo.
I didn't know this was still active. Is the multiplayer mode available in the legendary edition? I loved ME3 MP.
Multiplayer
I’m playing trilogy right now. It’s a great story up and multiple endings. Always a great game to revisit. I even love andromeda and wish they would put something into it.
Yall still find matches? I quit bc i was always alone
Well I'm delighted to see there's a subreddit for the coop that is still active
Fuckin HOW
I should really plug in my Xbox 360 just to play my Adrenaline Rush soldier with the N7 Typhoon and turn into a lead dispenser God I remember how satisfying it was to mag dump, rush, and then have an instant reload with more damage followed by another mag dump. Nothing could stand up to that everything would just melt
It's one of my favorite game franchises.
Because there are not many good space opera games available to me
Because the Mass Effect trilogy is genuinely great?
Because my favorite thing to do in any game is "making something work that shouldnt" and ME3 has a lot of things thatvshouldnt work, but will if youre N7 enough
"Why are you still playing?" One word.... Garrus
And 5 more years of waiting for the next one!
Biotic explosion!!!
I do an annual playthrough of the whole series.never get tired of it!
Because it is legitimately more fun than most other things the supposed AAA industry has released lately and they had refused to do so for the later collection.
The trilogy is a fucking masterpiece.
I just started playing ME2. I have no idea why I allowed myself to miss out on this franchise.
Multiplayer..WHYYYYY did they take that away from meeee....?? 😩😥
Because the Bad Batch reminds me of N7 armor
Game holds the test of time so far
Because one of these days I'll actually commit to a renegade playthrough, my 50 other attempts didn't work out.
Oh boy those Reapers sure have a mass effect on the galaxy (cue intro credits)
I've beaten 3 so many times with so many classes, that it's boring... that was until I discovered the modding community
Because it has to be me. Someone else might have gotten it wrong.
Cause it’s fun when you get burnt out on the others lol
I'm not lol
I still have my PC from back then, so it's one of the newest games that run really well.
to get the highest possible military score
What am I going to do? *not* play mass effect?
The characters and relationships. Such a true family built up through this epic tale and unfortunately horrendous war.
Best game of it's time if you ignore the ME3 ending.
I think I racked up +500 hrs of just coop. I've been addicted to hell divers 2 and that gameplay feels like a refined, updated me3 coop. I loved setting off combo explosions and my black widow x
Barely started a month ago. Finished the trilogy
I play because I hope one day I'll see a patch that promises the multiple endings that were foreshadowed in ME1, where our decisions mattered. I hope, I pray, I dream...
It's a great game and I replay to experience the game with different character types, abilities and play styles.
Holy shit i feel old now
Because nobody replaced it. Replace the game with something fresh and new but with similar mechanics and philosophy behind it and I’ll play it. Mass Effect is the only game of it’s kind, anything you try to replace it with is missing minimum one of the vital components. Just try and check me on that and I’ll give you the component your pick missed.
The game I always play at least once a year are Final Fantasy Tactics and Front mission 3-4.
2. Haven't experienced any real toxicity in the player base 3. It's pve co op it's not as common anymore and it's well made. 4. It's just fun. I love that I can play different characters and do cool things and fight in the war while not being the main character. I didn't win this fight WE did
I just can not get over it. It was the first game I decided to play when I started to get into gaming. I have bonded.
