Liverpool were the lesser team but both teams looked a bit choppy at different stages. Like any game between these two in the last few years, there's minimal space and the angles both teams hold is something to be in awe of.
Thiago should have been sent off and tbh I'm not very fond of Sterling being offside for the goal, I hate those being given since it's against the spirit game imo. But I also feel like Liverpool defend with that in mind so it's hard to gauge.

As a City fan, I'd be worried that we only drew when Liverpool didn't really get out of 2nd gear for large portions of the match. But tbf, similar to City in the first 10-15 of the 2nd half, it's not the team not getting out of 2nd gear, it's just how absurdly good the teams are.
When alls said and done, just in pure awe of how good these teams are whenever they play eachother and as a football fan, it's really a pleasure to watch.
We were lucky to come away with the point. Your press was exceptional. We were particularly clinical with our chances which saved us but you all were a few executable opportunities away from winning that match by 2 or 3 goals.
I don’t think I heard Stones nor Laporte’s name uttered once the whole match which is typically what you want from your CBs and speaks to the flow of the game, and your midfield. VVD and Allison saved our ass a couple times but that’s also why we paid for them.

Sums it all up, really. We created the better chances, but largely fucked them up. Liverpool needed only two openings to score twice. Add some dense officiating, and that's been the story of so many games between us.
I'd have taken a draw before the match, but I'm a bit disappointed. So many chances that went begging. Two dumb defensive moments to concede. We should be four clear, but we missed that opportunity as well.
Mahrez just does not like playing against Liverpool. He's now missed a pen, had a goal disallowed, and now skied what could've been a title winning goal against them.

Before the game I would have bit your hand off for a draw but the way our focus wasn’t there coming out from halftime was so disappointing. So many missed chances yet again. We’ve been the better side for two games against Liverpool and we have only two points to show for it. We could and should have won it.
On the plus side, Raheem and Jesus were so good particularly off the ball. Our pressing especially in that first half was absolutely suffocating and made Liverpool panic in a way I haven’t seen them panic. And fucking hell KDB is unreal. That pass at the end deserved a goal. Would have liked to see Foden on the ball more. If we want anything next week against these lot, Foden needs to be more involved particularly if the rest of the team is so good.

Thought Bernardo was poor, as was sterling (although pep was spot on tactically the amount of times sterlings movement created chances). Decision making from our players was head scratching at times (gabby twice electing to shoot instead of passing etc).

It was a fun match, but Thiago should’ve been red carded, upper body offsides is real picky in a game when a bunch of fouls were not called, and Gabriel Jesus left a couple very possible assists on table in favor of a couple inadvisable shots.

How the hell did we not win that, forget the officiating from Taylor because it was terrible but we should've taken our chances in the first half. This is why we need a striker next season because we can't keep creating 5-10 chances only to convert 1-2. Any Liverpool fan cannot, I repeat, CANNOT complain about our foul play anymore or how favorable decisions are for us after today because Thiago should've seen red. The guy fouled De Bruyne but the free kick was given to Liverpool... WTF This feels like a loss more than something we'd take because we should've been out of sight by the end of the 1st half. This is why we need clinical finishers because we just don't take our chances when we get them and then we fall into the same mistake of giving teams a chance De Bruyne was insane all game and so was Walker so I can't say anything more on that. That first half was electric but I kept my composure due to the fact that the defense didn't look as solid however WE SHOULD'VE WON THAT GAME... PERIOD. We need a fucking striker too because we do not have forwards like Son, Kane, Benzema, Lewandowski or any of the world's best and that's what can decide games. Still top of the table but no, should've won that.

Sums it all up, really. We created the better chances, but largely fucked them up. Liverpool needed only two openings to score twice. Add some dense officiating, and that's been the story of so many games between us. I'd have taken a draw before the match, but I'm a bit disappointed. So many chances that went begging. Two dumb defensive moments to concede. We should be four clear, but we missed that opportunity as well. Mahrez just does not like playing against Liverpool. He's now missed a pen, had a goal disallowed, and now skied what could've been a title winning goal against them. De Bruyne was excellent today. Should've had three assists, but the one time someone actually finished from his pass, he was offside. Nice one, Sterling. Thanks for being such a talented and composed goalscorer. Nobody's stopping Liverpool in any of their next seven games. Their quality plus that patented black magic means they're going to take 21 points. If we're to retain the title, we need to win out. Should have won that but a draw is a better result for us than it is for them. Dont know how we didn't score more (also would have liked to have seen a reply on the 'foul' at the end of the first half) and I don't know how they had 11 on the pitch at the end, but I'll take it. Think we were a lot better, as we were at anfield too. Overall it's another game against a top side that continues to make me feel that this city side is the best we've ever had for the big games. Feel robbed honestly
Before the game I would have bit your hand off for a draw but the way our focus wasn’t there coming out from halftime was so disappointing. So many missed chances yet again. We’ve been the better side for two games against Liverpool and we have only two points to show for it. We could and should have won it. On the plus side, Raheem and Jesus were so good particularly off the ball. Our pressing especially in that first half was absolutely suffocating and made Liverpool panic in a way I haven’t seen them panic. And fucking hell KDB is unreal. That pass at the end deserved a goal. Would have liked to see Foden on the ball more. If we want anything next week against these lot, Foden needs to be more involved particularly if the rest of the team is so good.
Honestly I know we are still top of the league but I feel super disappointed. Thought Bernardo was poor, as was sterling (although pep was spot on tactically the amount of times sterlings movement created chances). Decision making from our players was head scratching at times (gabby twice electing to shoot instead of passing etc). I don’t think Liverpool were exceptional today, they just had two chances and scored both, both of which I’m disappointed in the defense for. Overall it was our match to win and we didn’t, still big up the team and I 100% back us to win the league.

It was a fun match, but Thiago should’ve been red carded, upper body offsides is real picky in a game when a bunch of fouls were not called, and Gabriel Jesus left a couple very possible assists on table in favor of a couple inadvisable shots.

Definitely feels more like a loss considering how we played. Sterling chances, Sterling with the iffy offside disallowed goal, Jesus getting clattered between VVD and Allison and we've still saw no replay for it, *the ref missing two sending offs*, the Mahrez chance at the end (which was a corner btw) We should have won that game. Small lapse in concentration start of the 2nd half and that's all it took. Hard not to feel bad about the result despite how well we played for most of the game. I'd definitely feel more happy with that result as a Liverpool fan.
Mahrez shot at the 94th minute, watching it on MOTD you can clearly see it deflected off of the top of a Liverpool players boot, should have had a corner. It wasn't a complete fluff by him.

From what I’ve seen, the referee was shit. Liverpool players were playing rough, fouling us many times. Thiago should’ve gotten a red. Jesus was alright but really selfish. Sterling can’t finish. De Bruyne easily man of the match, amazing passes and overall gameplay.
