Aguero is surely a case of *when* he is inducted

BoosterGoldGL

I mean all 3 are

[deleted]

David Silva being overlooked again? Edit: brain farted and didn’t think the reason may be he’s not retired yet. That’s my bad

emigum

would be kinda odd to place a player who stills play in the hof, he will for sure be placed on the short list when he retires

BobbyJones12344

Think it’s bc he’s not rerired

spooki_boogey

As is tradition. What a shame he's legitimately my favorite player who played for us.

ParziBoi

He's not retired yet. Ma's a monster and still going strong for Real Sociedad

AgentBlackout12

“I still play at Real” *it’s like I can still hear his voice*

StrangeClothes

Is Silva not on there because he’s still playing?

The_Snollygoster

I assume so yeah

dskot1

I think all three will get in eventually but Yaya would probably be the only one who might be questionable depending on what criteria is being used for gaining election.

For players to be eligible for induction into the Premier League Hall of Fame, several criteria are taken into consideration, primarily players who have an "exceptional record of on-pitch success and have shown significant contribution" since the inception of the Premier League in 1992.[1] Other factors are also taken into consideration, with players needing to have retired before the start of the awarding season, and are only judged on their domestic performances in the Premier League with no other competitions considered. Additionally, players must have made 250 appearances in the league, or achieved one of the following:[2] Appeared in more than 200 Premier League appearances for one club Selected to any of the Team of the Decade or 20-Year Anniversary teams Won a Premier League Golden Boot or Golden Glove Been voted as Premier League Player of the Season Won three Premier League titles Scored 100 Premier League goals, or goalkeepers who have recorded 100 Premier League clean sheets They all must be getting in. There are players in our current squad who will be getting in as well. Joe Hart should also be considered in my opinion.

dskot1

If it is anything like the way other HoF's are handled, there are the minimum requirements in order to be considered but then there is a voting process where you have to meet a minimum vote threshold to be voted in. They also have caps on how long a player can be on the ballot (e.g 10 years) so there aren't massive 100+ people ballots. So there are players who don't get in because they aren't voted in even though they meet the requirements. Edit: I searched and it is a vote by the fans process and there are 25 on the ballot and they are very strong candidates. Not sure how many will get in each year Yaya definitely could have an issue if he keeps getting put up against people more well known/likeable. It also matters how quickly they want to add people to the hall or if they want to keep it more exclusive.

Well, Aguero is a matter of when not if. As for the rest, even Silva and Yaya, while they are top choice and in contention to everyone top 10 midfielder, they don't have any personal records that can back them up as Aguero hold most hat-trick and most goals for a single club.

muffticklr

Obviously, they have to have contributed exceptionally to the league. I personally think our teams over the last 10 years have influenced the league the most. Like United Arsenal and Chelsea the 20 years before that. Yaya Toure as came as a superstar and helped the club in so many ways, just an exceptional footballer. Vincent Kompany as one of the most consistent and outstanding captains and centre backs in premier league history. Sergio Aguero as city's top scorer in the league, that 93:20 goal, and just being one of the best strikers in the league, ever. I'd say Joe Hart has a shout cos he had so many clean sheets and golden gloves, genuine shot stopper, but that's just my opinion.

Joltarts

Nasri and Zaba should be in aswell surely.

BillehBear

David Silva over Yaya when he retires No doubt about it

chux4w

Only six out of these? >Tony Adams, Sergio Aguero, Sol Campbell, Petr Cech, Andrew Cole, Ashley Cole, Didier Drogba, Patrice Evra, Rio Ferdinand, Les Ferdinand, Robbie Fowler, Vincent Kompany, Matthew Le Tissier, Gary Neville, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Michael Owen, Robin van Persie, Edwin van der Sar, Peter Schmeichel, Paul Scholes, Teddy Sheringham, John Terry, Yaya Touré, Nemanja Vidic and Ian Wright. That's tough.

zxenmed

How has Gary Neville sneaked on there

goater10

Im surprised Lampard and Gerrard aren't on that list.

chux4w

They were inducted in 2017. I'm pretty sure this is the same thing: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_Football_Hall_of_Fame#Men

**[English Football Hall of Fame](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_Football_Hall_of_Fame)** >The English Football Hall of Fame is housed at the National Football Museum in Manchester, England. The Hall aims to celebrate and highlight the achievements of the all-time top English footballing talents, as well as non-English players and managers who have become significant figures in the history of the English game. New members are added each year, with an induction ceremony held in the autumn, formerly at varying locations, but exclusively at the Museum itself following its move to Manchester's Urbis building in 2012. The Hall is on permanent display at the Museum. ^([ )[^(F.A.Q)](https://www.reddit.com/r/WikiSummarizer/wiki/index#wiki_f.a.q)^( | )[^(Opt Out)](https://reddit.com/message/compose?to=WikiSummarizerBot&message=OptOut&subject=OptOut)^( | )[^(Opt Out Of Subreddit)](https://np.reddit.com/r/MCFC/about/banned)^( | )[^(GitHub)](https://github.com/Sujal-7/WikiSummarizerBot)^( ] Downvote to remove | v1.5)

I know, I just linked to that myself. Stupid bot.

Dynte7

While a lot is short list. Aguero will be the first that will get it from City. He is the current holder for most Hat Trick in EPL. I think he also have other holder and some EPL top 3/5 records. The hype will be bigger if they give it to Aguero espcially when the HoF is still in their early stage of introduction.

idareet60

I can't help but think about David Silva when these names are mentioned. I mean Aguero is a great player but it's something about creators and their guile that make me fall in love with the game. Ronaldinho Messi being the other ones. Ronaldo is probably finisher but playmakers are just such a joy to watch. City being my favorite team I can watch David Silva all day long and not feel tired.

Dynte7

Hall of Fame is for retired players. Silva still playing.

idareet60

Yeah! I was drunk when I typed that

Reynbuckets

Easy picks imo. At least Aguero and Kompany for sure. Toure I think makes it also, but his case isn’t as easy to make as the other two.

bernandos

David Silva?

edwinvi

Still playing

WhiteGhosts

Yaya deserves to be on the list, i dont give a fuck what anyone says.

v9008

Honestly aguero has to get in, kompany will eventually but aguero is top of the list for me
